Thank you!
August 17, 2016: This was a great camp! I was unsure of how my children would handle 6 hours of lacrosse camp for 4 days, but the coaches and staff were very reassuring and they were great motivators for the children. My two sons have only played 2 seasons of lacrosse and they’ve have done a few clinics here and there, but I can’t believe how motivated my children are to play after attending this camp! Even after spending all day playing lacrosse they still wanted to go outside when we got home from camp to practice!! Thank you

Notes
* According to History of WL, 1924-1939 The late 20s and 30s were some of the most successful years in the history of the WL sport. Unfortunately, the list of county and state titles for these early years is incomplete, but it is based on a list that has been used for school sports championship banners over the past few decades. Other championship teams have recently been added to the roster as research progresses. (For example, football team 1937 won District Crossed Sabers , but the date is not listed on the championship banner. Similarly, ’28 and ‘1930 district champions are mentioned in ’27. Blue and Grey, and the 1939 squad were not defeated. )
** The 1929 football team tied with Big Stone Gap and both teams shared the state title. WL was undefeated against their Virginia opponents, losing only to DeWitt Preparatory School in Forest Hills, D.C. VHSL (Virginia High School League) does not list this name as a Record book , as several state title games were played in the early years of interscholastic football; VHSL only recognizes championships with the most media coverage (source, VHSL).
*** The entire 1942 varsity football team started with the All-Northern Virginia team. While the WL teams in 1939 and 1942 were undefeated, the first undisputed VHSL state championship was held in 1956. Wayne Ballard’s 42-yard field goal ended in a stalemate, securing a thrilling Thanksgiving victory over archrival GW and the school’s first undeniable fortune for VHSL. football title. The game hit the national news. (The undefeated Norfolk High School played on a lighter schedule, and so the VHSL ranking system favored WL for the state title.
