North American automaker Buick, following the announcement that the LaCrosse model will get a new 4-cylinder engine, revealed the cost of the budget version of its sedan, claiming the title of the best car of the year in the US.
The basic modification of the Buick LaCrosse sedan will be equipped with a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder Ecotec engine. Engine power reaches 182 hp and torque – 233 Nm. According to official information, the cost of the car will be $26.995, which is $840 less than the price tag of a car with a 255-horsepower 3-liter V6 engine.
The company predicts that about 25% of potential buyers of Buick LaCrosse will opt for a model with a 2.4-liter engine. As standard, the car will be equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission. The average fuel consumption in the urban cycle is 11.7 liters, and on the highway – 7.8 liters.
Sales of the sedan with the new engine will start in the first quarter of 2010.

Operating modes Opus BT-C700
The device is controlled by the buttons: MODE (mode selection), CURRENT (selection of charge or discharge current) and DISPLAY (shows current, voltage, time and capacity during operation of the device).
Charge mode (CHARGE)
Used to charge batteries until they reach their maximum capacity. Enabled by default unless another mode is selected. If you do not select the current strength within 6 seconds after switching on, the charge will automatically start with a current of 400mA. It is possible to charge with a current of 200, 300, 400, 500, 700mA for 4 batteries and up to 1000mA for 2 batteries placed in slots 1 and 4. Once the mode has started, the charging current cannot be changed without re-inserting the battery. When the charge is finished, “FULL” appears on the screen. By pressing the DISPLAY key in the charge mode, you can view the capacity / charge time / charging current / voltage. When the Ni-MH and NiCd batteries are fully charged, charging will stop automatically and the device will switch to trickle charge to ensure maximum battery capacity. If there is no need to quickly charge the battery, use 200-700mA as the safest.
Discharge mode (DISCHARGE)
Select with the MODE key within 3 seconds after the battery is installed.
The MODE key must be held down for at least 3 seconds to switch modes. In the Discharge mode, the batteries are discharged with a selected current of 200, 300, 500, 700mA. The end of the discharge is determined automatically by the voltage drop to 0.9 V. There is no further charge of the batteries. After the end of the discharge, the inscription “FULL” appears on the screen. By pressing the DISPLAY key while “FULL” is displayed, you can view the discharge time and “drained capacity” value of the battery to determine the level of its self-discharge.
Recovery mode (REFRESH)
Recovery mode for old and “overclocking” new batteries. It is selected by the MODE key within 3 seconds after the battery is installed. The battery is being charged followed by discharge, 3 cycles in a row, with the selected current. Batteries that are old or have not been used for a long time are thus restored to their nominal capacity. After the end of the recovery mode, the inscription “FULL” appears on the screen.
Test mode (TEST)
Charging the battery, then discharging the battery with recording the capacity and charging the battery again. After the end of the mode, the display will alternately show the inscription “Full” and the actual battery capacity in mAh or Ah. By pressing the DISPLAY key, you can switch the display mode of information on the display. The discharge current in the “Test” mode is one value less than the charge current (for example: charge 700mA, discharge 500mA; charge 300mA, discharge 200mA).
QUICK TEST mode
Quick battery internal resistance test. Produced within 10 seconds and measured in mΩ. At a value of 20-80 mΩ, the internal resistance is considered low and indicates good battery quality. Above 500 mΩ, the batteries cannot be charged. To improve the accuracy of the measurement, the movable negative contact of the charger should be pressed as close as possible to the battery.
