He has a great relationship with the players and feels like one of the top candidates for this position.

Stephen Brooks

When Rubéor retired, Brooks was appointed acting. head coach, and he has a chance to take the reins in his own hands as a permanent figure. The 2008 Syracuse College Linebacker of the Year hasn’t worked as a professional head coach before, but he has a relationship with the current roster and the eventual transition will be smooth.

Ryan Boyle

This will no doubt be the most interesting entry as Boyle has been the face of the league since its inception. Lead analyst for NBC prior to the League’s move to ESPN, his operational analysis instills confidence in what he knows what he’s doing, and his competitive image as a former player can lead to similar ruthlessness when making roster decisions.

Mike Murphy

Murphy left his position as an assistant with the Whipsnakes during the 2021-2022 off-season to focus more on his Happy Valley duties, but parted ways with the Pennsylvania State program after the 2022 campaign. His commitment to defensive play could help the Atlas roster, and it should be noted that the Whipsnakes had their worst playoff record without him.

John Grant Jr.

Another assistant who left after the 2022 season to join Johns Hopkins. Junior is a pro lacrosse legend, and while he can’t pass on his offensive superpowers to his players, having Jeff Titus under his tutelage could be a cool storyline if he can have the same impact he once had on the Outlaws players with Matt Kavanagh.

Casey Powell

Another professional legend who has been increasingly focused on growing the Powell Lacrosse brand since his retirement. Powell would be a compelling candidate as a true historian of the game and its offensive styles. Powell has some coaching experience with the Jacksonville men’s team and the high school women’s team in Florida, and will certainly be able to apply the lessons he has learned during his tenure.

Bill Day

Day was head coach of the Boston Cannons from 2004 to 2011. His tenure with the Cannons is undeniably impressive and could be one of the best choices given his experience in the pro game. Biggest doubt about it? He was on the sidelines for ten years after he retired for the same reason Rubéor did: to spend time with his family when his daughters were three and five.

Beer Davis

The coach of one of the brightest pro teams in MLL history, “Ohio Machine” Davis, has a wealth of offensive weapons and tactics in his arsenal, and he has a lot to bring to the Bulls, which will further strengthen the roster during future draft.
