How do Bangerz HS-3000 goggles provide superior eye protection for athletes. What features make these goggles ideal for lacrosse and field hockey. Why should players invest in high-quality eye protection for sports.
The Importance of Eye Protection in High-Impact Sports
Eye injuries in sports are a serious concern, especially in high-impact activities like lacrosse and field hockey. The fast-paced nature of these games, combined with flying balls and swinging sticks, creates a significant risk for players’ eyes. This is why proper eye protection is not just recommended, but often mandatory in many leagues and schools.
The Bangerz HS-3000 goggles are designed to address these safety concerns while providing optimal visibility and comfort for athletes. But what sets these goggles apart from other options on the market?
Key Features of the Bangerz HS-3000 Goggles
- High-impact, one-piece shatterproof polycarbonate lens
- Curved shield design for maximum peripheral and downward vision
- Shock-absorbent brow bridge with padded nosepiece protection
- Anti-fog and anti-scratch coating
- Imported from USA with specifications based on the USA market
Understanding the Unique Design of Bangerz HS-3000 Goggles
The Bangerz HS-3000 goggles are engineered with a focus on both safety and performance. The high-impact, one-piece shatterproof polycarbonate lens is the cornerstone of their protective capabilities. This material is known for its exceptional strength and resistance to impact, making it an ideal choice for sports eyewear.
The curved shield design is another standout feature. It offers maximum peripheral vision, allowing players to maintain awareness of their surroundings without compromising protection. This design also provides excellent downward vision, which is crucial for tracking the ball and navigating the field.
The Science Behind Shock Absorption
One of the most innovative aspects of the Bangerz HS-3000 goggles is the shock-absorbent brow bridge. This feature is designed to dissipate the force of impacts, reducing the risk of injury to the sensitive areas around the eyes. The padded nosepiece further enhances this protection, ensuring that the goggles fit securely and comfortably on the face.
Anti-Fog and Anti-Scratch Technology: Maintaining Clear Vision
Clear vision is paramount in fast-paced sports like lacrosse and field hockey. The Bangerz HS-3000 goggles address this need with advanced anti-fog and anti-scratch coatings. But how do these coatings work, and why are they so important?
Anti-fog coatings prevent moisture from condensing on the lens surface, which can occur due to sweat or changes in temperature. This ensures that players maintain clear vision throughout the game, even during intense physical activity. The anti-scratch coating, on the other hand, protects the lens from minor abrasions, extending the life of the goggles and maintaining optical clarity.
The Impact of Clear Vision on Performance
Clear vision is not just about safety; it’s also about performance. Athletes who can see clearly are better able to track the ball, anticipate opponents’ movements, and make split-second decisions. The Bangerz HS-3000 goggles’ emphasis on maintaining clear vision directly contributes to improved on-field performance.
Comparing Bangerz HS-3000 to Other Sports Eyewear
While there are many options for sports eyewear on the market, the Bangerz HS-3000 goggles stand out in several key areas. Their one-piece lens design offers seamless protection without compromising visibility, unlike some models that use multiple pieces or have obstructive frames.
The curved shield design is another distinguishing feature. Many sports goggles have a flatter profile, which can limit peripheral vision. The Bangerz HS-3000’s curved design expands the field of view, giving players a competitive edge.
Field Hockey vs. Lacrosse Goggles: Understanding the Differences
It’s important to note that while the Bangerz HS-3000 goggles are suitable for both lacrosse and field hockey, there are some sport-specific considerations to keep in mind. Field hockey goggles typically require a vertical bar running through the player’s vision to prevent the toe of a stick from entering the goggle. Lacrosse goggles, on the other hand, do not have this requirement.
The Bangerz HS-3000 goggles are designed to meet the safety standards for both sports, making them a versatile choice for multi-sport athletes or schools looking to invest in high-quality, multi-purpose protective gear.
The Importance of Proper Fit and Adjustment
Even the most advanced protective eyewear can be ineffective if it doesn’t fit properly. The Bangerz HS-3000 goggles are designed with adjustability in mind, but it’s crucial for athletes to understand how to achieve the optimal fit.
A properly fitted goggle should sit comfortably on the face without gaps, ensuring that the eyes are fully protected from all angles. The padded nosepiece should rest securely on the bridge of the nose, and the brow bridge should make contact with the forehead without pressing too tightly.
Tips for Achieving the Perfect Fit
- Adjust the strap to ensure a snug but comfortable fit
- Check for any gaps around the edges of the goggles
- Ensure the nosepiece is centered and comfortable
- Test the goggles by shaking your head gently – they should stay in place
- If possible, test the goggles during practice before using them in a game
Maintaining and Caring for Your Bangerz HS-3000 Goggles
Proper care and maintenance of your Bangerz HS-3000 goggles can significantly extend their lifespan and ensure they continue to provide optimal protection and visibility. But what are the best practices for cleaning and storing these goggles?
To clean the goggles, use lukewarm water and a mild soap. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the lens coatings. Gently rinse the goggles and pat them dry with a soft, lint-free cloth. For storage, keep the goggles in a protective case when not in use to prevent scratches and damage.
When to Replace Your Goggles
While the Bangerz HS-3000 goggles are built to last, they should be replaced if they show signs of significant wear or damage. Look for deep scratches on the lens, cracks in the frame, or any deformation that affects the fit. Additionally, if the anti-fog coating seems to be wearing off, it may be time for a replacement.
The Role of Eye Protection in Injury Prevention
Investing in high-quality eye protection like the Bangerz HS-3000 goggles is a crucial step in preventing sports-related eye injuries. But just how significant is the risk of eye injury in sports like lacrosse and field hockey?
According to the American Academy of Ophthalmology, sports-related eye injuries account for more than 100,000 physician visits per year in the United States alone. Many of these injuries could be prevented with proper eye protection. The use of protective eyewear can reduce the risk of significant eye injury by up to 90% in high-risk sports.
Beyond Protection: The Psychological Benefits of Proper Eye Gear
While the physical protection offered by goggles like the Bangerz HS-3000 is paramount, there’s also a psychological aspect to consider. Players who feel confident in their protective gear are often more willing to fully engage in the game, improving their performance and enjoyment of the sport.
This confidence can lead to better focus, increased aggression in play (within the rules of the game), and a willingness to put oneself in positions that might otherwise feel too risky. In this way, proper eye protection doesn’t just prevent injuries – it can actually enhance a player’s game.
The Future of Sports Eye Protection
As technology continues to advance, we can expect to see further innovations in sports eye protection. What might the future hold for goggles like the Bangerz HS-3000?
Some potential advancements could include smart coatings that adapt to changing light conditions, improved impact-resistant materials that offer even better protection while remaining lightweight, and perhaps even integrated heads-up displays for professional athletes.
The Role of Regulations in Shaping Eye Protection Standards
As our understanding of sports-related eye injuries evolves, so too do the regulations governing protective eyewear. Organizations like the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) regularly update their standards for sports eye protection. These standards influence the design and manufacturing of products like the Bangerz HS-3000 goggles.
Athletes, coaches, and parents should stay informed about these changing regulations to ensure they’re always using the most up-to-date and effective eye protection available. The Bangerz HS-3000 goggles are designed to meet or exceed current standards, but it’s always wise to check for any updates or new recommendations from governing bodies in your sport.

Field Hockey Gear | Longstreth Sports
Rule changes regarding equipment are constantly fluctuating and the latest shift concerns goggles. As many of you know, goggles are a key piece of equipment that high school and middle school women’s field hockey and women’s lacrosse players are required to wear.
In order for wire goggles to be legal for women’s field hockey, they must have a wire bar that stretches vertically through the goggle. The comparison between women’s field hockey and women’s lacrosse goggles can be found below.
Notice that there is no veritcal bar running through the player’s vision in the lacrosse goggle. The reasoning behind the need for the vertical bar in field hockey is to prevent the toe of a stick from getting in the goggle. In lacrosse, this is not an issue, therefore they do not require the vertical wire piece.
Keep this rule of thumb in mind, you CAN wear your women’s field hockey goggles for lacrosse, but CANNOT wear your women’s lacrosse goggles for field hockey. So if you are a duel-sport athlete and want to invest in only one pair of goggles, your best bet would be to purchase women’s field hockey goggles.
Many players prefer Bangerz goggles. There are two styles of Bangerz goggles that can be used for both women’s lacrosse and women’s field hockey. These are the Bangerz Elite Goggle and the Bangerz Sleek Fitting Youth Eyeguard. Unfortunately, the Bangerz Sunglasses Eye Protection is no longer legal for women’s field hockey. However, they are legal for women’s lacrosse.
If you’re wondering are your current field hockey goggles are legal, or you are just in search of a new pair, feel free to contact Longstreth Sporting Good’s Retail Store or Customer Service with any questions you may have. Female athletes deserve equipment designed especially for them. Longstreth Sporting Goods specializes in field hockey, softball and lacrosse equipment designed for the female athlete so that the players are properly fitted with what they need to do their best, starting from their very first stick all the way to the latest technologies.
While field hockey is unfamiliar sport to some, in fact, it is one of the world’s oldest team sports. Played like ice hockey except outside on turf, or inside on a hard surface, field hockey has two teams of eleven players each (ten fielders and one goalie). The players use the flat side of the field hockey stick to move a ball (rather than a puck) down the field and score points by getting it into the goal.
Field Hockey Equipment
Here is a run down of the basic equipment your player needs to kick start their field hockey fun!
Field Hockey Sticks
Required for each player is a hockey stick. These range in price from a basic stick, that can be as inexpensive as $25, to a high-tech model which can cost over $400. Advanced players use high-tech sticks in order to maximize their control, speed, and ball-handling abilities. However, basic sticks are good for beginners as they:
- Learn the basic rules and techniques of the game.
- Develop ball control.
- Learn stick skills.
Field Hockey Balls
Of course, you also need to have a field hockey ball in order to play the game. Most teams have balls for practice and play, but you might want some for practicing on your own so that you can improve your ball handling skills. They are not expensive, typically costing between $5-10 dollars. Truthfully, there is not as much difference between the balls as there is between the sticks. Here are the basics:
- While field hockey balls are hard plastic, they are generally hollow inside.
- High School balls must have an NFHS approved stamp.
- Division I colleges are required to use a Kookaurra ball that has a cork core for a soft touch and a dimpled surface that rolls better on the wet turf.
- Indoor balls are somewhat smaller and lighter.
Other Equipment
What else do you need? Most of the additional field hockey equipment is designed for protection. You will want to get:
- Shinguards: these are required and generally made from hard plastic. They cover from your ankle bones to just below your kneecap.
- Mouth Guard: required to protect your teeth and mouth from being hit by the ball or a stick.
- Goggles: required for middle and high school players. Whether made of wire or plastic, these must meet the current ASTM F2713 guidelines for field hockey.
- Gloves: wearing these is optional but many outside players wear one on their left hand for protection from hurting their knuckles on the turf or ball. Some players, especially indoor, wear them on both hands.
Getting the Best for Female Hockey Players
Excited about this up-and-coming sport? Whether you are choosing your first field hockey stick, ready to upgrade to one which includes all of the latest technologies or need to outfit yourself with the other equipment for the game, Longstreth aims to be your one-stop-shop for all field hockey gear.

In the match between Sochi and Kunlun, who had previously lost their chances for the playoffs, Matvey Michkov scored again with an unusual goal, scoring from behind the gate. In the first period, he scored a puck and three assists

Sochi forward Matvey Michkov scored in the Fonbet-KHL regular season match against Kunlun with a lacrosse-style puck.
In the third minute of the match, being outside the goal, Michkov picked up the puck and put it into the near corner of the goal, making the score 2:0. In the first period of the match (4:1), Michkov took part in all the goals of Sochi, scoring three assists as well.
The striker has been playing in Sochi since December on loan from SKA St. Petersburg.
In November 2021, the forward became the youngest hockey player in the history of national teams (Russia / USSR), breaking the record of Vladislav Tretyak, and also surpassed the achievement of Alexander Ovechkin, becoming at the age of 16 years 339 days the youngest scorer for the national team in the history of Russian hockey .
Previously Michkov scored goals in lacrosse style, including in the Russian national team.
“Sochi” and “Kunlun” previously lost their chances of reaching the playoffs.
