What are the key factors to consider when choosing a youth football helmet. How do safety standards impact helmet selection. Which features provide optimal protection for young players. What role does proper fit play in helmet effectiveness. How often should football helmets be inspected and maintained.
The Importance of Proper Head Protection in Youth Football
Football is an exhilarating sport that captivates young athletes across the nation. However, the physical nature of the game necessitates robust safety measures, particularly when it comes to head protection. Youth football helmets play a crucial role in safeguarding young players from potential injuries and concussions during practices and games.
Recent studies, including one from Temple University, have highlighted that while helmet design has improved, there is still room for advancement in creating the ideal youth football helmet. This underscores the importance of carefully selecting the right helmet for young players.
Key Factors in Choosing the Best Youth Football Helmet
When searching for the best youth football helmet, several critical factors should be considered:
- Safety certification
- Player’s medical history
- Proper sizing and fit
- Comfort and adjustability
- Regular maintenance and inspection
Let’s delve deeper into each of these factors to understand their significance in protecting young football players.
Safety Certification: The NOCSAE Standard
The National Operating Committee on Standards for Athletic Equipment (NOCSAE) sets the benchmark for football helmet safety. Any helmet considered for use should bear the NOCSAE certification sticker, visible on its exterior. This certification ensures that the helmet has undergone rigorous testing and meets established safety standards.
Can helmets without NOCSAE certification be used? It is strongly advised against using non-certified helmets, as they may not provide adequate protection against impacts and collisions common in football.
Considering the Player’s Medical History
A player’s previous medical history, particularly concerning head injuries, should be taken into account when selecting a helmet. Players who have experienced concussions in the past may be at higher risk for subsequent injuries. In such cases, extra care should be taken in choosing a helmet with enhanced protective features.
The Crucial Role of Proper Sizing and Fit
One of the most critical aspects of helmet selection is ensuring a proper fit. A helmet that is too loose or too tight can compromise its protective capabilities and may even increase the risk of injury.
Head Measurement: The Foundation of a Good Fit
Accurate head measurement is essential for selecting the right helmet size. Adult-sized helmets are not suitable for youth players, as they may not provide adequate coverage and protection for smaller heads.
How should head measurements be taken? Use a flexible measuring tape to measure the circumference of the head, just above the ears and across the forehead. This measurement will serve as a starting point for selecting the appropriate helmet size.
The Importance of Trying Multiple Helmets
While online reviews and ratings can provide valuable insights, they should not be the sole basis for helmet selection. It is highly recommended that players try on at least three different helmets to determine which one offers the best fit and comfort.
What should be checked when trying on a helmet?
- The helmet should sit level on the head, with the front edge about an inch above the eyebrows
- There should be no gaps between the pads and the player’s head
- The helmet should not shift when the head is moved from side to side or up and down
- The chinstrap should be snug but not uncomfortable
Advanced Features in Modern Youth Football Helmets
Today’s youth football helmets incorporate various technological advancements to enhance protection and performance. Some notable features include:
Impact Absorption Systems
Many helmets now utilize advanced cushioning systems, such as Schutt’s TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) cushioning, which helps dissipate impact energy and protect against hits from multiple angles.
Faceguard Innovations
Innovations like Schutt’s Energy Wedge Faceguard are designed to deflect impacts and provide additional protection to the face and jaw area.
Ventilation and Moisture Management
Modern helmets often feature improved ventilation systems to help keep players cool and comfortable during intense play.
Top Brands in Youth Football Helmet Manufacturing
Several reputable brands are known for producing high-quality youth football helmets. Some of the leading manufacturers include:
- Riddell
- Schutt
- Xenith
- Rawlings
Each brand offers various models with unique features and designs. It’s essential to explore options from different manufacturers to find the best fit for individual players.
The Importance of Regular Helmet Maintenance and Inspection
Proper maintenance is crucial for ensuring the ongoing effectiveness of a youth football helmet. Regular inspections can help identify potential issues before they compromise the helmet’s protective capabilities.
Weekly Inspection Routine
What should be checked during weekly helmet inspections?
- Check for any cracks or damage to the outer shell
- Ensure all padding is securely in place and not compressed
- Verify that the chinstrap and all buckles are functioning properly
- Examine the facemask for any bends or cracks
- Check that all screws and fittings are tight
How often should helmets be professionally reconditioned? It is generally recommended that football helmets undergo professional reconditioning and recertification every 1-2 years, depending on usage and wear.
Understanding the Limitations of Football Helmets
While modern youth football helmets offer significant protection, it’s crucial to understand that no helmet can completely eliminate the risk of concussions or other head injuries. Proper technique, adherence to rules, and good sportsmanship all play essential roles in player safety.
The Role of Education and Training
Educating players, coaches, and parents about proper tackling techniques, recognizing signs of concussion, and the importance of reporting injuries is vital for maintaining a safe playing environment.
How can coaches contribute to player safety? Coaches should emphasize proper tackling techniques, enforce safety rules during practice and games, and create a culture where players feel comfortable reporting potential injuries or concerns.
Investing in Safety: The Cost of Quality Youth Football Helmets
High-quality youth football helmets can represent a significant investment. However, when considering the potential costs associated with injuries, investing in a top-rated helmet is a prudent decision.
Balancing Cost and Quality
While it may be tempting to opt for less expensive options, it’s important to prioritize safety and quality when selecting a youth football helmet. Many top-tier helmets offer features and protection that justify their higher price points.
Are there any financial assistance programs for purchasing football equipment? Some youth football leagues and organizations offer equipment assistance programs or scholarships to help families offset the cost of quality protective gear.
As we continue to learn more about the importance of head protection in football, the technology and design of youth football helmets will undoubtedly evolve. By staying informed about the latest safety standards, properly fitting and maintaining helmets, and fostering a culture of safety in youth football, we can help ensure that young athletes can enjoy the sport while minimizing the risk of serious injuries.
Remember, the best youth football helmet is one that not only meets safety standards but also fits properly and is consistently maintained. By taking these factors into account and staying vigilant about player safety, we can help create a safer environment for young football enthusiasts to thrive and develop their skills on the field.

Top 10 Youth Football Helmets Reviewed In 2020
It is well known that “defending” the field and keeping the other team from reaching the end can be a bit violent and full of action. That is why the protective gears of the players are of top importance.
One of the most important safety gear for the players is their helmet. It prevents them from having major injuries and concussions while playing the rough sport. According to a study from Temple University, new football helmet safety design has yet to produce the Best Youth Football Helmet In 2020. These helmets are still not considered 100% safe. The risk of injuries and concussions are still present unless the helmet takes into consideration the following:
1. Safety standard
To be considered as one of the Best Youth Football Helmet In 2020, it has to be verified by the National Operating Committee on Standards for Athletic Equipment (or NOCSAE) and it has to have its sticker visible on the outside part of the helmet.
2. Prior athlete information
It has to be taken in consideration if the player has already had a concussion before, since it will increase the risk that it can happen again even if he has his helmet on.
3. Head measurement
Most especially, if the helmet will be used by youth players, the ordinary helmet meant for grown ups will not be sufficient to keep the youth safe.
4. Helmet fit and chinstrap
Before deciding on what helmet to wear, relying solely on what the highest rated youth football helmets are will not be enough. The player must specifically try at least 3 helmets to determine which fits perfectly.
5. Maintenance
Every helmet should be examined weekly to make sure it still follows the safety rules.
Guide to the perfect fit
In searching for the best youth football helmet in 2020, you will come across a lot of ratings and reviews that claim that they are the best youth football helmet reviews or the best football helmet ratings 2020, but you must remember not to solely believe in reviews and ratings.
After determining which ones on the list fit your style and your budget, it is advisable to contact the suppliers and let them bring samples to you and your team so all of you can personally try wearing their helmet. Here are some important things to consider when choosing:
-The helmet should have inflation on the top part, and it should raise the frontal rim of the helmet to at least 1 inch above the eyebrows.
-The jaw pads on the inside lining of the helmet should be touching the players jaw and not his ears.
-The rear part when there is a soft pad should not be restraining the back of the player’s head. It should be comfortable enough but it should be touching the head and not letting the head wobble inside.
-The chinstrap should have equal tension on all parts of the strap. It should not be used to raise or adjust the helmet. The strap has to comfortably sit on the chin, with the cup in the middle of the chin.

It also boasts of a light face mask and inflatable jaw pads. Overall you are getting the most protection for your money with this Riddell helmet.
There are three main things to consider when looking for the best football helmet for your student athlete – Fit, Protection and Comfort.
Fit
Fit comes first, because even if you buy the highest quality helmet available to you, if the fit is wrong your child may still be at risk for serious injury. A loose helmet means that the head can shift around and the shock absorbing cushions will not be able to properly do their job. If the fit is bad, the helmet will also be likely to come off during play, especially when players get hit hard- which of course is when it is needed the most.
Protection
Protection is the next thing to look for. Quality of the helmet is dependent on quality of the cushioning and padding that is installed. It needs to be shock absorbing, scientifically tested, and innovative.
Comfort
Finally, comfort is the final aspect of finding the best football helmet. While it might not put you at risk, if your helmet is uncomfortable it will be distracting and often deter you from playing at an elite level. It might also mean that you are less likely to secure your helmet on properly- which makes your prone to injury.
There are huge benefits from buying a custom youth helmet. The comfort level will be a lot higher if it is purchased to size. Many helmets are adjustable, but finding one closest to the proper fit is important. If you purchase the best youth football helmet available, it will lead to extreme comfort. The padding that’s included only adds to this.
No need to worry about worn or thin padding if you choose anything from our analysis. It’s the best of the best. This is very important because the slightest discomfort can interfere with a player’s game. For safety ratings check out Virginia Tech’s page.
Another benefit a player gets from a high quality football helmet is that they are often made from extremely lightweight material. With all of the running an movement involved in the sport, the less your football player has to carry in terms of gear weight- better. The last thing a player needs is a heavy helmet slowing them down. A light helmet enables them to move at high speed without feeling like they have extra weight on their head and neck.
- Use a cloth measuring tape and wrap it around the circumference of the head
- Measure with the tape about 1 inches above the eyebrows
- Record head circumference measurement
- Use circumference measurement to select the correct head size (aka hat size)

This is a company that has been at the top of the industry for a number of years now. They have continuously come up with high quality helmets for novice and experienced football players. They incorporate very important features in their helmets in order to ensure every player has the best protection while on the field.
Schutt is another leading brand in the production of high quality helmets. This company comes up with amazing designs and always delivers in comfort, durability and style. Last but not least is Xenith, they not only produce the best youth football helmets but also high quality professional player helmets. They include very useful and unique features on their helmets that ensure players have the best time playing with the best protection. With this company, you can expect comfort, great design and durability.
There are several things you need to look for when shopping for a youth football helmet in order to ensure you only leave with the best youth football helmet there is. The first thing you need to look at is the material used to make the helmet. This is important because youth helmets are made with different material compared to the one used for adult helmets. You need to ensure the helmet is made of ABS plastic. This is important because it means the helmet can withstand a lot of force.
The other thing you need to consider is the weight of the helmet. You need a very light youth helmet. This is because it makes it easier for the child to move around the field. Durability is also very important. You can tell whether or not a helmet is durable by looking at the material. ABS is very durable. Padding is also very important because they protect the player’s head and keep him or her comfortable. It is also important to look for protective features such as the face mask and eye shield. Last but not least, make sure the size is right for the player; you need a helmet that will fit perfectly.
There are many different types of youth football helmets. Each one is composed of different features and qualities that set it apart from it’s competition.
Youth Football Helmets: Padding
One example of this would be a youth helmet that has inflatable padding. Inflatable padding is most important in helmets because they enable the player to be able to withstand the blows they receive on their heads, and they can also help secure the fit of the helmet a bit better. This type of helmet was initially introduced by a man by the name Vin Ferrara, and is a feature not found in every make and model.
Youth Football Helmets: Visors
Another unique feature would be a helmet that allows for a visor. Football visors can be added on to most models, and you can read more about them in another one of our product analysis pages. Something that has been added in recent years to help keep track of the safety and health of players. The sensors are added to the helmet so that you can calculate the impact the player receives when he is hit. This can help coaching staff monitor when a player might have received a concussion causing hit.

Sizes of motorcycle helmets
Entry
As simple as it sounds, finding the right size can be a challenge. This guide will help you get it right. This is not a guide to choosing a helmet or an explanation of how helmets work. The purpose of this article is to clear up the mystery of how your helmet should fit and give instructions on how to determine the best fit without popular misconceptions.
Correct fit of the helmet is science-based and supported by US DOT, ECE 22 safety standards.05 (Europe), SHARP (UK). It doesn’t matter what type of motorcycle you have, how you ride, or how many years you’ve been riding.
How to determine the size of a motorcycle helmet?
The dimensions of the helmets are governed by the size of the outer shell and the inner shell made of extruded EPS foam.
For most manufacturers, the overall dimensions of helmets of various sizes differ, i.e. have several sizes of the shell itself.Small helmets are lighter and from the aesthetic point of view, on a shorter person, a small motorcycle helmet looks more compact, and vice versa, on a tall, larger helmet looks more adequate.
Usually, manufacturers produce helmets in accordance with the dimensional grid, but there are deviations, i.e. helmets are larger or smaller, so it is better to measure and ask the seller’s advice.
Determining the size of a motorcycle helmet is easy. With the help of a tailor’s centimeter, you need to determine the size of the head by measuring above the eyebrows at the widest point.
In order to accurately measure and determine the exact size of the helmet, I recommend using third-party help.
Helmet sizes table
- XXS – 51-52 cm
- XS – 53-54 cm
- S – 55-56 cm
- M – 57-58 cm
- L – 59-60 cm
- XL – 61-62 cm
- XXL – 63-64 cm
- XXXL – 65-66 cm (not all manufacturers produce helmets with this size).Produced by brands: LS2, Nolan
Children’s sizes of motorcycle helmets
Some manufacturers of motorcycle helmets do not have a children’s dimensional grid, so their children’s helmets have the letter designations XXXS, XXS.
Or the name of the model indicates that this is a children’s motorcycle helmet (for example, KID) and children’s sizes are indicated. For example, for LS2 children’s helmets:
S – 47-48 cm.
M – 49-50 cm.
L – 51-52 cm.
There is often a different size option for children’s motorcycle helmets. Sizes are indicated by letters, like adult models, but the letter Y is placed in front of the size, for example: YS, YM, YL . The letter Y = Youth stands for child i.e. the size of a helmet for children.
Helmet size XXXS ~ 48-50 cm, XXS = 51-52 cm, XS = 53-54 cm.
Sizes of children’s helmets in a dimensional grid
YS = 48-50
YM = 52-53cm
YL = 53-54cm
Why is the right helmet size so important?
Before we start trying on, let’s take a look at why choosing the right outfit is important.First of all, motorcycle helmets are safety equipment. In fact, it is one of the most heavily regulated safety features associated with your motorcycle. The certification standards describe the requirements for helmet fit, penetration (how much an object pierces the shell), and impact protection (absorbing energy so you don’t get brain damage). All that is needed, right?
The standards also regulate the size of the helmet, the docs state that testing is only applicable to a helmet of a suitable size.Yes, you read that correctly. If your helmet doesn’t fit you, then it’s all in vain. Just as an airbag in a car can save the life of an adult passenger but can be fatal to a small child in the front seat, your helmet can only work if it is fitted correctly.
In addition to safety, many of the features designed in your helmet are based on a specific helmet size. Ventilation, soundproofing, and even the design of your visor is based on the assumption that certain parts of your head and face will be in certain places. If the size is not correct, you may be disappointed with your helmet.
Steps to find the right helmet
So how do we determine the right helmet? Below are the rules for trying on a helmet. These rules focus on integrals, but the same principles apply to modulars and open helmets.
- Determine your head size and then select the appropriate helmet size from the manufacturer’s size chart. These dimensions are the most reliable information.
The helmet should fit snugly against the “cap area” highlighted in the photo above.
- The new helmet should fit snugly around the part of your head that is “under the cap”. The helmet should wrap around this area snugly, like a tight knitted winter hat – slightly squeezing, but not painful or crushing.
- There should be no “pain points” or discomfort in the “cap area”.
- With a new helmet, your face should be tightly compressed, especially around your cheeks. The pressure may feel uncomfortable or mildly uncomfortable, but it shouldn’t be painful. You shouldn’t be able to chew gum, and you won’t be able to speak clearly.
That’s all. If your new helmet meets all of the above rules, your helmet is right for you. Simple, right? If it hasn’t passed any of these rules, then it is possible that the helmet is the wrong size or maybe the wrong shape for your head.
On the same topic, here are a few things you should never do:
- The size never compensates for an irregular helmet. If you have special pain points or pressure points, the only safe solution is to try a different shell.
- Never suffer pain in the cheek area. Try squeezing the pads, and if that doesn’t work, get thinner cheek pads.
Football test 🙂
When I hear a reason why a helmet doesn’t fit, I use what I call the soccer test. This may not work for you, depending on your personal experience in high school, but I find it helpful.
A method for determining if your helmet fit requirements are reasonable or if you are outside of what is important when trying on a helmet for safety. Test execution example:
1. I claim that the helmet is supposedly not suitable. “My helmet doesn’t fit because I can’t chew gum in it” .
2. I add “coach” to the beginning of the sentence and “soccer” in front of the “helmet”. “Coach, my football helmet doesn’t fit because I can’t chew gum in it.”
3. Then I imagine myself repeating the previous sentence to my high school soccer coach. And if that results in me being asked to run a couple of laps, then that requirement is probably not relevant to the question of the correct size of the motorcycle helmet.
Like football, motorcycle is a sport! Whether you are riding a Suzuki GSX-R1000 or King Harley-Davidson Road King, you are engaged in physically challenging (and potentially hazardous) activities.Your helmet is sports equipment, so keep this in mind when fitting it.
Common misconceptions when choosing a helmet
I need a bigger helmet to fit my glasses
No, you need goggles that fit your helmet. A helmet is responsible for complete protection of your head, while glasses are two lenses in front of your eyes. It is much more difficult to find the right helmet than it is to find a pair of goggles to use inside the helmet, and it makes sense to buy cheap, straight-arm frames specifically for motorcycles. If you have contact lenses, consider wearing them.
I need a larger helmet to accommodate my ponytail
Detach your hair. Engineers don’t draw the shock layers given the fist-sized hairball, so get it out of there.
I need more space in my cheeks so I can smoke / eat / drink with a helmet
Especially popular with modular users, this is also a ridiculous requirement.Sacrificing safety and comfort on the road to save a few seconds when stopping is like wearing diving fins throughout your vacation so you don’t have to change your shoes before diving.
This helmet does not fit because it folds over my ears
Ever watched a small child “try” to put on an outfit they don’t want to wear? The scene that accompanies the fitting of the helmet is usually very similar.Modern helmets taper towards the bottom to help create a better seal around the head. This results in a safer fit. Since your head is larger than your neck, the helmet must be curved to slide around your head. Grab each of the helmet straps and pull them out when you put on the helmet. It will fit snugly, as it should be. The harder it is to put on the helmet, the better, as it will move less when dropped. If you have big ears, you may need to practice a little to get the helmet on without folding it.You may also need a comforter. To be honest, it may take a little effort for you to put on the helmet.
I really like the design / color / price of this helmet, so I will increase / decrease the size and change the inner liners
If the helmet has the wrong shell size, size or EPS shape for your head, replacing the inner liners is not a solution. Comfort earbuds are designed for comfort, not protection, and they won’t save your brain in an accident.Regardless of the interesting colors, getting the right helmet size should be your first priority.
This helmet is too tight, I sweat because of it.
A motorcycle involves physical exertion. This often leads to perspiration. A properly fitted helmet will allow the air passages and vents to work as intended, while a larger helmet can actually compromise ventilation performance and reduce air flow.
I always wear an L, so I can’t have an M.
It’s a good idea to try new things every time you buy a helmet. Your previous helmet may have been fitted incorrectly, or the two helmets may be different sizes.
I cannot have (S, M, XL), because my height and weight are such and such …
Your helmet size has nothing to do with your body measurements. You may be 180 cm tall and weigh 80 kg, and at the same time you may need a small helmet. Husbands may have smaller heads than wives, children may have larger heads than parents. The only measurement that matters is your head circumference.
This helmet does not fit, I can feel it when I hit my head on objects
The helmets don’t stop you from feeling the pain of the impact. They prevent damage to your brain. The bad news is that helmets are disposable items and require frequent replacement.
I like it when there is a lot of space in the helmet
If you choose to wear a helmet that doesn’t fit you properly, the helmet won’t do its job on impact.More energy will be transferred to your brain, and this will not affect it for the better.
My old helmet was much more comfortable than the new helmet, so I need a larger size
You probably don’t remember, but your old helmet was much cramped when you bought it than it is now. The side liners of the helmet can compress up to 20% over time. The same fate awaits the new helmet.
I’m not a racer, so I don’t need a helmet to fit.
Physics doesn’t care which motorcycle you ride or how you ride it. Let’s say you are walking down the street when you suddenly lose control. If you hit your head on the sidewalk without a helmet or a poorly fitted 1.5m helmet at 60 km / h, the force of the fall will most likely kill you (or at least seriously damage your brain). The kick itself doesn’t matter whether you ride a superbike, 50cc scooter or bike. The impact on your skull is the same.
I’m a passenger, so it’s okay if my helmet is a little loose.
See “I’m not a racer” argument above. The road doesn’t care what place you occupy here. It will damage you anyway.
I’m an old school guy. I don’t need an uncomfortable, neat helmet
Also see the “I’m not a racer” argument above. The road will not get easier for you because you are a member of a motorcycle club or some association.Sometimes, more experienced bikers will claim that they survived accidents by scratching off without proper safety equipment. This is the same, as some argue that it is better to drive without a seat belt, because in an accident they can safely fly out through the windshield.
This helmet is the wrong size because brother / friend / uncle says so
If your brother does not work at ECE 22.05, SHARP, then most likely he is wrong.Ask where he or she learned how to size a helmet. Pay attention to the rules and how you feel.
I want my child to have a helmet that he can fit in
Helmets need to be safe and unfortunately this means buying and re-purchasing helmets until your child stops growing. The motorcycle is a great sport that teaches kids confidence, but it doesn’t come cheap.
As long as I have a helmet it’s better than nothing
In the event of a collision, the difference in energy transfer between a properly fitted and improperly fitted helmet can be the difference between a headache and a fractured skull.Of course, any helmet will be more protective than a bare head, but this does not guarantee an accident without serious consequences.
2-in-1 Kids Ski / Sled Helmet XXS / 44-49 cm blue
Which product is this ski helmet for young children compatible with?
This ski helmet for children is compatible with the Lugik mask. The mask strap is put on over the ski helmet and goes through the helmet hook. The cap is specially designed to be worn under a helmet.
Why is this ski helmet for young children sold with a cap?
The cap provides protection from the cold, depending on the needs and the weather. The cap can be worn separately if the child does not need to protect the head during winter activities such as skiing or sledging.
How is this ski helmet for young children adjusted?
The adjustment wheel is used to ensure that your child’s helmet is securely in place. It allows for quick and accurate adjustment of the helmet size thanks to the wheel, which is easy to handle, even with ski gloves. Thus, maximum comfort and safety is guaranteed. Simply turn the wheel to the right to increase the adjustment, and to the left to loosen it.
What does European Standard 1077-B (2007) mean?
Standard 1077 – B (2007) applies to helmets used to protect the head while skiing or snowboarding. This standard is awarded based on impact absorption and bursting tests.
Category B helmets may have better ventilation and audibility, but they protect less of the head and can let snow through.
How to choose the size of this ski helmet for young children?
Measure your head circumference in centimeters (in the middle of your forehead and above your ears).
Then select the size that matches your measurement.
Example: If your child has a head circumference of 46.5 cm, choose a ski helmet for children, size XXS 44-49 cm.
Take some time to try it on. The child should not feel squeezing. If you feel uncomfortable, try a different model.
How do I know if a ski helmet is correctly adjusted for small children?
The ski helmet must be well adjusted during training:
* The helmet must be matched.
* It is necessary to adjust the circumference of the head with the wheel.
* The chin strap needs to be adjusted.
The chin belt functions as a seat belt: if it is too loose, there is less protection.
Can I return the ski helmet for young children to the store?
Ski helmets are classified according to the PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) standard. Helmets are not exchangeable. The ski helmet meets the standard. We cannot guarantee that a purchased helmet has not been hit and therefore still meets the standard.
EPP and PC
EPP: Expanded polypropylene.
RS: Polycarbonate

Measurement and size
The important thing for choosing a helmet is determining its size: in order to determine this value, it is necessary to measure the circumference of the head. Head size is measured with a soft meter and should extend from the ears and just above the eyebrows. This will give you a circumference that is typically 51 to 61 cm.Compare your measured and corresponding measurements in centimeters with the size chart below to determine the one that fits your head. The system is suitable for both adults and children. Try on different sizes until you find the closest, most comfortable fit. A good way to determine the correct size is to wear a helmet with a loose strap and make sure that the helmet cannot rotate around your head and move laterally. Also make sure that the helmet, which is always fastened with a belt, cannot be removed in any way and that it does not impede the movement of the neck and head.To test your comfort, try walking around in the helmet for a long time and make sure there are no compression zones that can cause dangerous headaches and discomfort.
Storage conditions
Our helmets and masks are made of plastic or composite materials that degrade technical as well as aesthetic characteristics over time. Therefore, in order to ensure a long service life of the helmet, it must be stored in a cool and dark place. Do not leave your helmet near heat sources such as radiators.Store the helmet in a place where it is not subject to impact or the weight of other objects. Masks should always be stored in a special case to avoid scratches or other damage to the lens.
In the event of severe impacts
The helmet, if it has suffered a serious impact or several impacts of even weak intensity, must be replaced so as not to carry the risk of injury to a person during use. If the mask is damaged (discoloration, decay of filtering ability, severe scratches), the lens should be replaced.
Maintenance
The helmet should only be washed with clean water (without the use of solvents, chemicals or other aggressive detergents). After use, let the helmet dry in a ventilated area at room temperature; do not use hair dryers or other heaters. Masks should be washed with warm water and a little degreasing soap and then dried immediately with a soft cloth.
Innovative system
For the new helmets ZERØ35 by HAMMER has developed an innovative, scented disinfection system. The system uses Oikos Fragrances’ patented SFR technology called Solid Fragrance Release. The aromatization inside the helmet occurs completely naturally due to the internal aeration of the helmet, and lasts about three months. To replace it, simply remove it from the inside pocket of the helmet (located next to the cheek) and marked with the appropriate label, and then insert a new refill.
Important Notes
Other Important Warnings:
- Do not paint or use dyes of any kind on your helmet.
- Attention! Never use non-original helmet parts, remove helmet components or add other accessories.
- Do not cut or drill the cover, do not insert screws.
- Do not adjust your helmet without first reading the instructions for use.
