Wentworth Institute of Technology Academic Rankings
Rank – Overall rank based on the average of the ranking fields (Scores, Difficulty, Smartest, Brainpower, Faculty and Research).
Scores – SAT & ACT scores. The university’s test scores are corrected for dropout rate when score level is Good, Excellent or Elite. This will slightly boost scores for highly competitive schools.
Difficulty – Academic rigor is estimated based on how difficult it is to get an “A” at the university. An estimated GPA at the university is calculated for the average US Student. University grade inflation, average GPA, and STEM density are factors.
Smartest – University that can field the highest scoring students based on the average US University size. Higher Smartest Rank = “Smartest for the Average University”
Brainpower – The average “smartest” rank using 5 reference populations (CalTech, MIT, Stanford, GaTech and Berkeley). Higher Brainpower Rank = “Higher Density of Smart Students”. The university ranked higher can mathematically field ‘X’ number of smarter students than universities ranked below them.
Faculty – Ranking based on number of % of faculty with awards and academy membership.
Research – Ranking is achieved by iteratively ranking the average of 3 research metrics (r-pop, r-stem, r-other ). The lowest ranked college is then removed and the new set is re-ranked. The result is the schools with potentially the strongest research environments per student bubble up to the top regardless of size or research budget.
- r-pop – Average research spending for student population
- r-stem – STEM research spending
- r-other – Other/Medical/Health research spending
Salary ROI – “Salary Return on Investment” is not used in the overall ranking but is provided for additional information. Using the undergraduate average starting and mid-career salaries, the rank is based on a 20yr salary accumulation (with raises) minus the cost of a 4 year education at the university. Salaries are normalized across the country using the average COLA for the university’s geo-economic region (7 regions total). The COLA effect is diminished by the level of the university. Elite, Excellent and Good universities have a greater distribution of graduates across the country and a diminishing COLA effect. The resultant value would be the graduate’s spending potential over the 20yr period.
Overall ROI – “Overall Return on Investment” is not used in the overall ranking but is provided for additional information. The average of Overall Rank and Salary ROI. This would be the “Best academic bang for the buck”. Colleges that produce the best education, at the best price, with the best return will be ranked higher.

Miller, Wentworth is … What is Miller, Wentworth?
There are articles on Wikipedia about other people with this last name, see Miller.
Wentworth Earl Miller III (eng. Wentworth Earl Miller III ; b.June 2, 1972, Chipping Norton, England) is an American actor, screenwriter, best known for the role of Michael Scofield in the TV series Getaway.
Wentworth’s father is an African American attorney with Jamaican, Somali, German-Jewish, Indian (Cherokee) and British roots, and his mother, a school teacher, is Russian, French, Syrian, Dutch and Lebanese [1] [2] [3] .
Biography
Miller’s father studied at Oxford at the time of the birth of his son.His family moved to Park Slope, Brooklyn, New York.
Miller’s small acting debut took place in kindergarten. Children and parents had to make their own dinosaur costumes to participate on the stage. Miller’s father, bypassing all the ready-made models, made a huge T-Rex head out of paper. The audience was delighted with [4] .
Miller attended Midwood High School in Brooklyn. When his girlfriend learned about his origin, then called the boy by Niger and ordered to “remove to plantation.”At school, due to social inequality and racist antics, Miller was nicknamed “Stinky” and haunted him for many years.
“I grew up in a very natural but conservative environment and I was looking forward to going to college in order to pursue my career.” [5]
Before entering the prestigious Princeton University, the parents advised their son to hang photographs of his family in the room so that the guests who came to him would immediately understand his origin, and he would avoid unnecessary explanations.
While in college, he studied singing and also traveled the world performing with the famous a cappella band The Princeton Tigertones. A bad reputation caused him a lot of difficulties during his first year at Princeton.
“I drew a cartoon in the newspaper on the topic of racial hatred, I didn’t want to harm anyone, I just wanted to indicate my own racial identity. I was guided by the fact that if someone did not know about my origin, I should not have to explain it.They knew me on campus, they knew where I came from and who I am! But many people would not have guessed what race I was, and just mistook for a white! ” [5]
Immediately after defending his thesis, in which Miller compared the structure of two famous novels – “Jane Eyre” and “Antoinette”, he, unexpectedly for his parents and friends, moved to Los Angeles to become an actor.
Acting career
“If you are doing any work, do not stop halfway….I remember how my father told me every time I wanted to take a walk after school: “Every test, every quiz, every conversation with the teacher, all this affects your life not only in college, but in general, your entire destiny. All these little pieces add up to something single and significant! ” [5] .
Early in his career, Miller worked in the development department of a production company at Paramount, not on screen, but on the other side of it. There was not enough money even to rent an apartment, but Miller was not going to refuse to realize himself as an actor.
Four years, hundreds of castings and not a single proposal. And yet, in the end, as a guest actor, he participated in the filming of the series “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”, “Time of Your Life”, “Ambulance” and “The Best”, until he finally got the first worthwhile role of a sensitive young David Scott in the TV series Dinotopia. Simultaneously with the participation of the series, the divorce proceedings of his parents began in the Miller family. Miller expected a lot from Dinotopia. The series received an Emmy award, but Miller did not break into the ranks of stellar performers, and therefore again launched into numerous auditions.
In 2002, the actor’s resume was on the desk of the legendary Robert Benton – one of the co-creators of Bonnie and Clyde and the director of Kramer vs. Kramer – and Miller got a role in the drama Tainted Reputation.
“I know, it sounds awful, but they said, in order to prove that I really am who I say I am, because many actors will say nothing, just to get the role, I have to bring a family photo album and photocopy photos of my relatives, from grandparents to the youngest.I stood by the copier, looked at all these faces and thought about my family to the end. I thought, God, is this all just to get the part? The answer was yes and no, but I felt that it was that time, that place and that way … When I returned, they said that they would approve me for the role, I immediately hugged everyone who was in the room. When I left the office and walked past the Paramount studio where I had worked for the past five years and thought it was a great moment, I was overwhelmed with a sense of gratitude and immediately called my mom! ” [5] .
Benton drew attention to Miller for a reason. Tainted Reputation is an adaptation of Philip Roth’s scandalous novel about the respected university professor Coleman Silk. When the gray-haired old man begins to have an affair with a 34-year-old cleaning lady (Nicole Kidman), his colleagues are outraged. But they, however, do not know the more shocking truth about Silke – a truth that has been carefully hidden even from his wife for the past 50 years. Silk is African American. It’s not hard to see that Went, with his university education, was more suited to the role of a young professor than anyone else.
I was proud to be able to tell a story that my family really wants to see, but not only because I am filming it, but also because it touches the issues of our life “ [5] .
Wentworth Miller in the series Escape
Benton, however, made an unforgivable mistake by inviting Oscar-winning Welsh actor Anthony Hopkins to play the aging Silk. Critics were indignant: “Do you think the Anglo-Saxon Hopkins as an old African American is original? Stupid! ” Miller revealed himself as a serious dramatic actor.
A Tainted Reputation was shown at the Venice Film Festival, was nominated for an Academy Award, and received an award from the Black Filmmakers Association.
In 2005, Miller’s photos appeared in popular publications, including L’uomo Vogue, Abercrombie & Fitch: new revamped xmas edition. He was invited to appear on the series “Ghost Whisperer” and “New Jeanne D’Arc”. And then he became Michael Scofield in the TV drama Getaway.
“Some actors may tell you that they are losing their own selves in the characters they play.I will say that for me, on the contrary, acting is finding yourself through the character that I play, it allows you to find out about yourself that which you cannot or do not allow to discover. Of course, this applies to me, but if they also pay money for it, why not ?! ” [5]
This role earned Miller a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor in a Drama Series.
“The road was what it was and took as long as it took to achieve the main goal.I don’t regret a second. Couldn’t be better than it is “ [5]
In 2009, Miller voiced several characters in the popular animated series Family Guy, starred in the TV series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and in 2010 in the film Resident Evil 4: Afterlife. In late October 2011, Miller appeared on the TV series House Doctor [6] .
Ted Folk
Under the pseudonym Ted Folk, Miller wrote the screenplay for Stoker, which is slated to premiere in 2012.Explaining the use of the pseudonym, Miller noted that he simply wanted the screenplay to be independent of his acting fame. [7] His script “ Uncle Charlie ” [8] was included in the so-called “Black List” – the top 10 scripts that Hollywood studios have not yet “reached” [9] .
The main heroine of the story is a young lady named India Stoker, who is grieving over the death of her father. Suddenly, immediately after the tragedy, a relative appears in the girl’s life, whom she did not know before – a mysterious uncle.Miller himself described the film as a terrible family drama with elements of a psychological thriller. Despite the title associated with Dracula author Bram Stoker, Miller claims that Stoker is not a vampire movie [10] . The atmosphere of the film should be similar to Alfred Hitchcock’s Shadow of Doubt. The film will be directed by Park Changuk and produced by Ridley Scott. The main role will be played by Mia Wasikowska, her mother – Nicole Kidman, and the mysterious uncle – Matthew Goode [11] .
