Using and crediting the results of the development of massive open online courses
At the Siberian Federal University, there are several options for using and crediting the results of mastering massive open online courses ( MOOC ), which are regulated by the Regulation on the use and credit of mastering results ( MOOC ).
Options for using and crediting the results of mastering MOOCs
At the initiative of the student
The student needs:
- fill in the electronic form;
- print, sign and approve the generated document with the teacher;
- transfer the signed and agreed document to the educational and organizational department of your institute;
- to present to the teacher the original document confirming mastering ( MOOC ) (transfer a copy of the confirming document to the educational and organizational department of the institute).
We recommend that you familiarize yourself with the list of educational organizations and providers MOOC whose certificates are recognized by SibFU. Please note that taking into account the results of MOOCs of providers and educational organizations that are not included in the list is possible at the discretion of the teacher leading the discipline.

At the initiative of the teacher
The teacher needs:
- choose MOOC and the format of its inclusion in the educational process;
- include information about the use of MOOCs in the RAP and/or PM;
- ensure the fulfillment of the conditions of the Regulations on EE and DOT SibFU, if the discipline is considered with partial or full application of EE and DOT and provide for the possibility of using the available technical resources of the university, including computer classes, in accordance with the needs of students;
- provide students with educational and methodological support in the process of mastering MOOCs, including in the EOIS SibFU.

On the initiative of the head of the EP or the head of the department
The head of the EP or the head of the department must:
- select a MOOC (or several), the learning outcomes of which coincide with the learning outcomes of the discipline/module;
- add information about the use of MOOCs to the EP documentation;
- inform students about the implementation of the educational program using MOOCs;
- to inform students about the compliance of the assessment for the development of MOOCs with the assessment displayed in the statement and grade book;
- add to the schedule of training sessions information that the discipline is implemented in the form of a MOOC;
- provide technical support for students in the development of MOOCs, in accordance with the class schedule; the organization of educational and methodological support remains at the discretion of the head of the EP or the head of the graduating department.
To include MOOCs in the EP, an agreement can be concluded on the network form of the implementation of the educational program with the educational organization that owns the MOOC or an agreement on cooperation in the use of open online courses in the implementation of the EP with the MOOC provider.

Tutor support for MOOCs
In order to provide information, methodological and organizational support to students, teachers and other university staff in the use of MOOCs, a corps of online learning tutors has been created at SibFU, whose powers include:
- support in the selection of MOOCs, in matters of including MOOCs in curricula, work programs and methodological support of disciplines;
- consulting support on organizational issues of online learning, on issues of working with the online platform;
- coordination of students during the current control and intermediate certification on the side of the University;
- interaction with representatives of the university-developer of the MOOC on problems, questions, etc. arising in the course of the implementation of the MOOC.

Fifth International Conference on Cognitive Science
Fifth International Conference on Cognitive Science is accepting applications for participation and abstracts at www.conf.cogsci.ru.
The conference is organized by the Interregional Association for Cognitive Studies (MAKI), the Interregional Public Foundation “Center for the Development of Interpersonal Communications”, the Institute of Psychology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Linguistics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow State University. M.V. Lomonosov, National Research Center “Kurchatov Institute”.
This conference is a continuation of a series of conferences on cognitive science held in Kazan (2004), St. Petersburg (2006), Moscow (2008) and Tomsk (2010).
The purpose of the conference is to organize a forum for representatives of the sciences who study cognition and its evolution, intelligence, thinking, perception, consciousness, representation and acquisition of knowledge, language as a means of cognition and communication, brain mechanisms of cognition and complex forms of behavior. Psychologists, linguists, neurophysiologists, specialists in pedagogy, artificial intelligence, neuroinformatics, cognitive ergonomics and computer science, philosophers, anthropologists and other specialists working in the field of cognitive science are invited to participate in the conference.
The conference program will feature reports and review lectures by leading experts in interdisciplinary cognitive research. Guest Speakers: T. Givon (University of Oregon), Daniel Dennett (Tufts University), Terrence Deacon (UC Berkeley), Kimmo Kaski (Aalto University), George Lakoff (UC Berkeley), Saadi Lalu (Institute for Social Psychology, London), David Chalmers (Australian National University).
Working languages of the conference: Russian and English (simultaneous translation will be organized for lectures and section reports of the conference).
The reports will be in two formats: oral and posters (posters). Accepted abstracts will be published by the beginning of the conference.
Applications for participation and abstracts are accepted on the conference website www.conf.cogsci.ru until November 15, 2011. The rules for registration and submission of abstracts can be found on the conference website.
Particular attention in the selection of reports will be given to the interdisciplinarity of the research and the clarity of the text of the abstracts to representatives of other sciences.
Program committee decisions will be communicated by 15 February 2012. The conference organizers hope that they will be able to provide grants to pay for the accommodation of all conference speakers in one of the quality hotels in Kaliningrad (for co-authored reports, only one speaker will be granted a grant).
