How does headwear influence performance in Olympic swimming. What controversies have arisen regarding swim caps in recent years. Why are specialized swim caps important for athletes with diverse hair types.
The Significance of Swim Caps in Olympic Competition
Swim caps have long been an essential piece of equipment for competitive swimmers, serving multiple purposes beyond mere aesthetics. These streamlined head coverings play a crucial role in reducing drag, protecting hair from chlorine damage, and maintaining optimal body temperature in the water. However, recent events have brought the topic of swim caps to the forefront of Olympic discussions, highlighting issues of inclusivity and performance enhancement.
Functions of Swim Caps in Competitive Swimming
- Hydrodynamics: Reducing water resistance
- Hair protection: Shielding from chlorine and other chemicals
- Temperature regulation: Maintaining body heat in cool water
- Team identification: Displaying colors and logos
Do swim caps significantly impact swimming speed? Studies have shown that wearing a swim cap can reduce drag by up to 6%, potentially shaving valuable milliseconds off a swimmer’s time in high-level competition. This marginal gain can make the difference between standing on the podium and missing out on a medal entirely.
Jake Mitchell’s Journey: From White Cap to Black Cap
The story of Jake Mitchell, a young swimmer from Carmel, Indiana, exemplifies the importance of swim caps in Olympic competition. At 19 years old, Mitchell became the youngest U.S. male swimmer to compete in the Olympics since 2004. His journey to Tokyo was marked by determination and a symbolic transition from a white swim cap to the coveted black cap worn by finalists.
Mitchell’s Path to Olympic Qualification
- Moved from California to Indiana at age 13
- Trained with the prestigious Carmel swim club
- Qualified for the U.S. Olympic team in dramatic fashion
- Improved his time from 3:48.17 to 3:45.86 in a solo time trial
How did Mitchell’s performance in Tokyo compare to his qualifying times? In the Olympic prelims, Mitchell clocked 3:45.38, demonstrating his ability to perform under pressure on the world’s biggest stage. This improvement from his Trials time showcases the young swimmer’s mental fortitude and physical preparation.
The Symbolism of the Black Cap in Olympic Swimming
In Olympic swimming, the color of an athlete’s cap carries significant meaning. While preliminary heats typically feature swimmers in white caps, those who advance to the finals earn the right to wear a black cap. This color distinction serves as a visual indicator of achievement and adds an extra layer of prestige to the competition.
Why is the black cap so coveted among Olympic swimmers? The black cap represents more than just advancement to the finals; it symbolizes an athlete’s place among the world’s elite swimmers. For many, like Jake Mitchell, earning the right to wear the black cap is a goal in itself, separate from medal aspirations.
Controversy Surrounding Specialized Swim Caps
While traditional swim caps have been a staple of competitive swimming, recent controversies have emerged regarding specialized caps designed for swimmers with Afro-textured hair. The ban on Soul Cap, a product designed to accommodate larger and more voluminous hairstyles, has sparked debate about inclusivity in the sport.
The Soul Cap Ban: Key Points
- Designed for swimmers with Afro-textured hair
- Banned by FINA for use in the Tokyo Olympics
- Cited reason: caps do not “fit the natural form of the head”
- Criticized as potentially discouraging diverse participation in swimming
How does the ban on specialized swim caps impact diversity in competitive swimming? The decision to prohibit Soul Caps has been met with criticism from athletes, coaches, and advocacy groups who argue that it creates unnecessary barriers for swimmers with natural Black hair. This controversy highlights the need for greater consideration of diverse needs in sports equipment regulations.
The Importance of Inclusive Equipment in Swimming
The debate surrounding specialized swim caps underscores a broader conversation about inclusivity in sports. For many athletes, particularly those from underrepresented communities, having access to equipment that meets their specific needs is crucial for participation and success in competitive swimming.
Why is inclusive equipment essential for promoting diversity in swimming? Proper equipment that accommodates various hair types and textures can help remove barriers to entry and encourage participation from a wider range of athletes. This inclusivity is vital for growing the sport and ensuring that talented swimmers from all backgrounds have the opportunity to compete at the highest levels.
Potential Benefits of Inclusive Swimming Equipment
- Increased participation from diverse communities
- Improved comfort and performance for athletes with different hair types
- Greater representation in competitive swimming
- Inspiration for young swimmers from underrepresented groups
The Role of Governing Bodies in Equipment Regulation
The controversy surrounding specialized swim caps has brought attention to the role of governing bodies like FINA in regulating swimming equipment. These organizations are tasked with maintaining fair competition while also promoting the growth and accessibility of the sport.
How can governing bodies balance fairness and inclusivity in equipment regulations? Finding this balance requires ongoing dialogue with athletes, coaches, and equipment manufacturers to ensure that rules and standards evolve to meet the needs of a diverse swimming community. This may involve reevaluating existing regulations and considering the impact of equipment bans on underrepresented groups.
Considerations for Inclusive Equipment Regulations
- Performance impact: Ensuring no unfair advantages
- Safety: Meeting necessary safety standards
- Accessibility: Promoting participation from diverse groups
- Adaptability: Allowing for evolving technology and designs
The Future of Swim Caps in Competitive Swimming
As the swimming community continues to grapple with issues of inclusivity and equipment regulation, the future of swim caps in competitive swimming remains a topic of interest. Innovations in materials and designs may lead to new possibilities for enhancing performance and accommodating diverse needs.
What potential advancements can we expect in swim cap technology? Future developments may include caps with improved hydrodynamics, better heat retention properties, or designs that cater to a wider range of hair types and textures. These innovations could potentially benefit all swimmers while promoting greater inclusivity in the sport.
Potential Areas for Swim Cap Innovation
- Advanced materials for reduced drag
- Customizable fits for various head shapes and hair types
- Integrated sensors for performance tracking
- Environmentally sustainable production methods
The ongoing discussions surrounding swim caps in Olympic competition highlight the complex interplay between tradition, performance, and inclusivity in sports. As the swimming community continues to evolve, it is likely that equipment regulations will adapt to meet the needs of a diverse global athlete population.
From Jake Mitchell’s pursuit of the black cap to the controversies surrounding specialized designs, swim caps remain an integral part of competitive swimming. Their significance extends beyond mere functionality, encompassing issues of identity, achievement, and equal opportunity in the sport. As the conversation around inclusive equipment continues, the humble swim cap stands as a symbol of the ongoing efforts to make swimming accessible and welcoming to athletes from all backgrounds.
The future of swim caps in competitive swimming will likely be shaped by a combination of technological advancements, evolving regulations, and a growing emphasis on inclusivity. By addressing the needs of diverse athletes and embracing innovation, the swimming community can ensure that this essential piece of equipment continues to serve its purpose while promoting fairness and accessibility for all competitors.
Abrahamson: Black cap in hand, USA swimmer Mitchell takes last place win
Let’s backtrack.
When he was 13, Jake Mitchell moved from northern California to Carmel, Indiana, a suburb of Indianapolis.
Indiana has a long and proud history of high school and college swimming. The Carmel swim club is one of the best in the nation.
Mitchell and Drew Kibler, who goes to Texas, are the first Carmel swimmers to make the U.S. Olympic team. Kibler is two years older than Mitchell. They are good friends. Kibler is due to swim Tuesday in the prelims of the 4×200 free relay.
At the Trials in Omaha, Mitchell went from fifth to second in the final 50 meters of the 400 free. His problem: he touched in 3:48.17. Too slow. To make the 2020 Olympics, swimming’s international governing body, FINA, demands that everybody in the men’s 400 free have raced at least 3:46.78; in swim lingo, this is what’s called an “A cut.”
USA Swimming officials opted to let Mitchell swim by himself in the Omaha pool. If he could get under the A cut time, he would be good. If not, then others in the field would get the chance to qualify.
Nerves? “I was super-nervous in the staging area. Shaking almost,” Mitchell has since said.
The crowd roared for him that night as he went out strong and held on, finishing in 3:45.86, way better than what he needed and more than two seconds faster than his prior race.
“It’s probably the coolest thing I’ve seen in swimming,” Matt Barbini, the USA Swimming national team performance director, has said.
“We’re such good friends,” Mitchell would say of Kibler. “To see him make it, I knew I had to make it as well. I knew I could.”
After the Trials, reports from the swim team’s pre-Tokyo camp in Hawaii said Mitchell was turning it on.
At 19 years and seven months, Mitchell became the youngest U.S. male to swim at an Olympics since 2004. He was seeded 13th. That meant he should not have made the final.
But he did.
In Saturday’s prelims, in that white swim cap, Mitchell went 3:45. 38. If at an Olympics you go faster than you did at Trials, that’s performance under pressure. What more can you ask?
Especially because Mitchell had told insiders that what he really wanted here was that black cap.
That 3:45.38 earned Mitchell a seventh-place seed in Sunday’s race. The only guy lower: Hafnaoui, 18, all the way across the pool in Lane Eight, who would, you know, win. Which no one saw coming.
Soul Cap, designed for Afro swimmers, banned by FINA
Tokyo Olympics: Swimming caps designed for natural Black hair banned
The International Swimming Federation has banned swimming caps designed for natural Black hair for use in the upcoming Tokyo Olympics.
USA TODAY
Swimming caps designed to encourage Afro swimmers with long, thick and voluminous hair to pursue their sport without barriers have been banned for use in the upcoming Tokyo Olympics.
The International Swimming Federation said the caps, made by the Black-owned British brand Soul Cap, do not “fit the natural form of the head” and to their “best knowledge the athletes competing at the international events never used, neither require … caps of such size and configuration,” according to The Guardian.
The company, which previously partnered with Alice Dearing, the first Black swimmer to represent Great Britain at the Games, has been outspoken about the issue.
Olympics: Sha’Carri Richardson won’t run 100-meter dash at Tokyo Olympics after testing positive for marijuana
“For younger swimmers, feeling included and seeing yourself in a sport at a young age is crucial,” Soul Cap co-founder Toks Ahmed wrote in an Instagram post. “FINA’S recent dismissal could discourage many younger athletes from pursuing the sport as they progress through local, county and national competitive swimming.”
Danielle Obe, the founding member of the Black Swimming Association, told The Guardian the ban has “created a sense of exclusion for members of the black and minority ethnic community,” as other swim caps for Afro hair are difficult to find.
“If the (official swimming bodies) are talking about representation, they need to speak to the communities to find out what the barriers are that are preventing us from engaging,” Obe said. “Hair is a significant issue for our community.”
Noliwe Rooks, the chair of and a professor of Africana Studies at Brown University, told USA TODAY that the swim cap ban fits with many other bans related to Black hair.
4 riders to 3: A big change for team jumping at Tokyo Games
“While this ban does not specifically speak about specific Black hairstyles in terms of a ban, as have previous bans from the U.S. military and various corporate concerns and workplaces, this ruling disregards the needs of Black women to protect their hair and their hairstyles when they swim,” Rooks said.
The ban, she said, appears to be based on a lack of understanding about the density or thickness of Black hair.
“The ruling specifically mentioned the fact that Soul Caps do not hug the scalp, but Black hair does not necessarily lay flat against the scalp, and also can have a thickness that makes it impossible to keep a traditional swim cap from filling with water as the athlete swims,” Rooks said.
In a statement, FINA said it “is currently reviewing the situation with regards to ‘Soul Cap’ and similar products, understanding the importance of inclusivity and representation.”
Swimming caps for natural black hair ruled out of Olympic Games | Tokyo Olympic Games 2020
Swimming caps designed for natural black hair created by a black-owned brand will not be allowed at the Olympics.
The hats, made by Soul Cap, which previously partnered with Alice Dearing, who last week qualified to become the first black female swimmer to represent Team GB at the Olympics, have been rejected by the International Swimming Federation (Fina).
The body said the caps did not fit “the natural form of the head” and to their “best knowledge the athletes competing at the international events never used, neither require … caps of such size and configuration”.
Danielle Obe, the founding member of the Black Swimming Association, told the Guardian the ruling underlined the inherent systemic and institutional inequalities around the sport. “We believe that it confirms a lack of diversity in (the sport),” she said. “Aquatic swimming must do better.”
The original swimming cap, designed by Speedo 50, was created to prevent Caucasian hair from flowing into the face when swimming. Obe said the caps did not work for afro hair, which “grows up and defies gravity”.
She said: “We need the space and the volume which products like the Soul Caps allow for. Inclusivity is realising that no one head shape is ‘normal’.”
While other swim caps for afro hair are available they are difficult to find, which, Obe said, created a sense of exclusion for members of the black and minority ethnic community.
“If I walked into my local health club, gym or leisure centre, could I readily pick up one of these (swim caps for afro hair)? No,” said Obe. “Can I walk into a general retail store like Asda, Tesco or Sports Direct and pick one up? No.”
According to the sport’s governing body, Swim England, only 2% of regular swimmers are black. It found 95% of black adults and 80% of black children in England do not swim. While 79% of Asian adults and 79% of Asian children do not swim, black children are three times more likely to drown than white children.
Obe believes a lack of appropriate products prevents members of the BAME community taking up swimming. “If the (official swimming bodies) are talking about representation, they need to speak to the communities to find out what the barriers are that are preventing us from engaging. Hair is a significant issue for our community.”

In response to Fina’s decision, the founders of Soul Cap, Toks Ahmed and Michael Chapman, released a statement on Instagram highlighting the issues around exclusion and the sport.
“For younger swimmers, feeling included and seeing yourself in a sport at a young age is crucial. Fina’s recent dismissal could discourage many younger athletes from pursuing the sport as they progress through local, county and national competitive swimming,” they wrote. They said they feared swimmers would have to “choose between the sport they love and their hair”.

“Since my injury at the tournament in South Korea, I have been in constant contact with Tiger. I assured him that I would do my best to recover 100% by the start of the President’s Cup. However, I need more time.
I regret not being able to represent the USA national team. I wish my partners good luck in trying to win the President’s Cup again, ”Kepka said in a statement.

(Ricky Fowler became a participant in the President’s Cup)
American captain Tiger Woods called Ricky Fowler to the national team, who finished 11th in the President’s Cup rankings. However, Fowler hasn’t played a full-fledged tournament since August.
He competed in the Mayakoba Golf Classic. Ricky was forced to withdraw due to an intestinal infection, which he contracted during his wedding in October.
Fowler’s third participation in the President’s Cup
Ricky competed twice in the President’s Cup. He played eight matches, won four of them, lost three, and a draw was recorded in one more.
Why didn’t Woods choose Fowler in the first place?
Because he hasn’t shown good golf for a long time.As already mentioned, since August, Ricky has not finished a single tournament, and since May he only got into the top 10 in one tournament out of ten.
Obviously, the American is not in the best shape now, but at the same time, Fowler is still a strong and experienced golfer who has played in team competitions more than once.
The 13th draw of the tournament, in which the US national team will face the rest of the world (excluding Europe), will be held in Melbourne from 12 to 15 December. The Americans are the reigning champions: they won 19-11 two years ago.
In the history of the tournament, the world team won only one tournament – in 1998, and then the venue was also this Australian city. After that, a draw was recorded, and all the other draws, including seven in a row, were won by the Americans. Now the US team is also the favorite to win.

On Instagram, Ronnie Feig said that they made the decision to announce the collaboration and show several things together with the US Olympic team.
“Looking at the calendar last December, the team and I knew that this will be the year we will move up one level. The main point of the plan was to announce that KITH has become an official partner of the US team and to release a collection in time for the opening of the brand’s flagship store in Tokyo. … Our collection, together with the Olympic Games, is carried over to the next year. “
In March, the International Olympic Committee announced new dates for the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo – they will be held from July 23 to August 8, 2021.

90,000 Near the US Embassy in Moscow there was an action “Judge on the soap” :: Society :: RBC
Students staged a rally at the US Embassy in Moscow against the decision of the American referee Bradley Mayer, who did not count the puck of Russian hockey players during the match between the national teams of Russia and the United States. Near the building of the diplomatic mission, more than 400 students took part in an impromptu competition: 10 teams in the uniform of a national team were grinding soap into buckets with the name of the American judge.
Photo: mger2020.ru
Fans chanted “The USA can’t – the judge will help!”, “The judge for soap!”, “Russia will win”. The winners were presented with a cap signed by the central striker of the Russian national team Yevgeny Malkin, according to a message posted on the official website of the Young Guard of United Russia.
According to the students who participated in the flash mob, not a single Russian fan who watched the match between Russia and the United States remained indifferent to the decision of the American referee.
The dissatisfied match took place on 15 February. In the third period, Mayer canceled the puck thrown by Fedor Tyutin against the US national team. The judge made the decision after watching the video replay: it turned out that at the moment that delighted the Russian fans, the Americans’ gates were moved. Tyutin’s puck could become the third scored during the game and take the national team to the playoffs ahead of schedule. The match ended in a draw (2: 2), according to the regulations a winner was required. There were no goals scored in the additional 5 minutes, the leader of the group came to light after a shootout. Its Russian hockey players lost (3: 2).
This incident caused a storm of indignation among Russian fans. The situation was aggravated by the fact that the match was judged by the referee from the United States.
The coaches of the national teams showed restraint in the comments and did not exchange accusations. On the contrary, the head coach of the Russian national team Zinetula Bilyaletdinov said that he had no complaints about refereeing, and his American colleague Dan Bilesma was surprised why Tyutin’s puck was not counted.
Photo: mger2020.ru
RBC-Sport journalists explained why the referees made the right decision in a disputable situation. First, the Russian scored the puck when the goal was moved. The fourth paragraph of the 471st rule of the game of hockey states: “A goal will not be counted if the goal is moved from its place or the goal frame is not completely in contact with the ice surface. “Since the scandal flared up for two reasons (the gate was moved by the American goalkeeper, the American referee worked at the match), this requires additional explanation. Not a single point of the rules says that a puck thrown into the goal, which was moved by the goalkeeper (intentionally or unintentionally), can be counted. In addition, the rules of the International Ice Hockey Federation allow the appointment of a referee from the United States for American matches, a Russian referee for Russian matches, a Swede for Sweden, and so on, RBC sports correspondents indicated.
The outgoing US Ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul denied the fact of fraud on the part of the American arbitrator in his Twitter microblog.

Flat cap – abcdef.wiki
Hat type
The flat lid (sometimes Scally cap) is a rounded lid with a small hard top to the front originating in the British Isles. The hat is known in Ireland as a paddy cap, in Scotland as a cap, in Wales as a Dai cap, in New Zealand as a cheese cutter, and in the United States as a driving cap.For the manufacture of the cap, fabrics made of wool, tweed (most often) and cotton are used. Less common materials may include leather, linen, or corduroy. The inside of the cap is usually padded for comfort and warmth.
History
Wool flat cap
This style dates back to the 14th century in Northern England, when it was more commonly referred to as the “hat”. The term was changed to “cap” until about 1700, with the exception of Scotland, where it was still referred to as Bunnet in Scotland.
Act of 1571, passed by the English Parliament, is intended to stimulate domestic consumption of wool and trade in general. He decreed that on Sundays and holidays all men over 6 years old, with the exception of the nobility and “persons of higher education”, were to wear woolen hats or pay a fine of three farthing (0.75 pennies, or about £ 0.008) in a day. … The law was not repealed until 1597, although by then the flat cap was firmly established as a recognized mark of ignoble people such as a burgher, merchant, or journeyman. The style may have been the same as the Tudor bonnet, which is still used today in some styles of academic dress.
During the 19th and early 20th centuries, when men predominantly wore hats of one form or another, flat caps were commonly worn throughout Great Britain and Ireland. The finer fabric versions were also considered suitable casual wear in the countryside for the upper class English. Flat-soled caps were worn by trendy youths in the 1920s. Boys of all grades in the United Kingdom during this period wore caps; A pointed school cap of the prescribed color and design, more rounded than men’s flat caps, was part of the regular school uniform.
Caps have been worn in the United States since the 1890s. The cap gained popularity around the turn of the 20th century and was the standard garment for boys at the time. They were worn at school, as casual wear and with costumes. Flat caps were almost always worn with trouser suits in the 1910s and 1920s. In the 1930s, the popularity of both flat caps and panties declined. The flat cap made its way to southern Italy in the late 1800s, probably brought in by British military personnel. In Turkey, the flat cap became a staple headgear for men after it replaced the fez banned by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk in 1925.
Academic regalia
One of the flat hats worn in academia, known as the Tudor bonnet or bonnet, comes directly from medieval headdresses from the original 1571 Act. It remains a ceremonial wear by members of the academic community in many countries, usually as a headdress for doctoral graduates. It usually has a soft, round crown and a hard, flat edge. The bonnet is often made of black velvet and trimmed between crown and edge with gold cord and tassels. Some universities prefer to trim their bonnets with colored lace and tassels.
Some stylistic variations of this bonnet:
- The Canterbury Cap is a flat top, soft hat fabric with a round headband deeper at the back than at the front.
- The Oxford hood has a black tape between the crown and edge.
- The John Knox Cap is a soft black velvet square cap worn by doctors from several Scottish universities as well as from Durham University in England, University of Calgary and Queens University in Canada. It is also worn by PhD holders from the University of Liverpool and the University of Victoria in Wellington, New Zealand.
Academic cap (mortar board), however, is more widely used in academia.
British Popular Culture
In British pop culture, the flat cap (or “flat hat”) is commonly associated with older working class men. A flat cap can also be used to denote top class when exposed to negligence.”Emerald can be a little guy too without losing face.” In the late 20th and early 21st centuries, flat caps were worn by British public figures including David Beckham, Nigel Mansell, Guy Ritchie, Richard Blackwood and the Prince of Wales.
The following owners are known in Northern England: Fred Dibna from Bolton; Comic book anti-hero Andy Capp of Hartlepool and AC / DC vocalist Brian Johnson of Newcastle usually wears a flat cap on and off stage.
In Peaky Blinders, , a BBC TV show about a former gang from Birmingham, the characters wear Baker Boy caps – a similar style often confused with flat caps.It was decided and adapted that the gang sewed razor blades into the top of their flat caps for use as weapons.
Use in London’s East End exemplified by Jim Branning of East Enders and Del Boem Trotter of Only Fools and Horses . Taxi and bus drivers are often depicted wearing a flat cap, as comically portrayed in the television sketches of Gareth Hale and Norman Pace (Hale and Pace) London Cabbies.
North American culture
The flat cap hat is associated in popular culture in North America (mainly the United States) with urban newspaper men (that is, newspaper vendors at the corner), a style sometimes referred to as a newsboy hat or newsboy hat, sometimes referred to as a kangol hat from – for a merger with a brand that produces certain styles of flat caps. It is also sometimes worn by older non-professionals or golf enthusiasts.
Current Popularity
This style remains popular with groups of people in the UK, Ireland and North America. The cap is sometimes associated with older men, largely in South Korea, but has been popular (along with the newsboy cap) among some segments of youth, such as cities such as Boston and Pittsburgh with large Irish-American populations. It appeared in the hip-hop subculture and is sometimes worn backwards or upside down. It is also very common among men and women in San Francisco, California. In Turkey, he is very popular with men, mainly among the working class.
The fans of the Featherstone Rovers rugby league team are nicknamed “Flat Cappers” because fans have attended matches in previous years, as have most other teams.
A black leather flat cap is often combined with a patched sports coat or a leather jacket and dark clothing (sometimes combined with a striped prisoner shirt) in popular culture to depict a burglar, burglar, or burglar, sometimes with a domino mask. … The comic book character, Gong, is based on this flat-hat street hooligan archetype from vintage cartoons and comics.
Popular American golfer Bryson DeShambeau wears a flat cap during his rounds at the PGA Tour in honor of the late Payne Stewart and Ben Hogan. This look has rekindled popularity among young golfers.
Canadian teams in the 1998 Winter Olympics wore red flat hats designed by Roots at the opening ceremony of the Nations Parade. In addition, the US team at the 2008 Summer Olympics also wore white flat caps designed by Polo Ralph Lauren during the Nations Parade.
It is usually worn in the subculture of Gopnik in Russia.

Usually they got by with the name “Taipei”. And in the Olympics, for example, Taiwan participates under the name “Chinese Taipei”.
Because of the difficult relationship between China and Taiwan, other countries have to figure out how not to offend anyone. For example, only 15 states have official diplomatic relations with Taiwan. But in fact, others also have embassies, only they are called trade offices.
We are concerned, but this is your country
The United States is concerned about the situation in Afghanistan. But they are asking local security forces to handle the Taliban offensive on their own.
“They have a modern air force. They have many advantages that the Taliban do not. We are deeply concerned about the situation in Afghanistan, but this is their country, their cities, their people, ”, said Pentagon spokesman John Kirby.
But this does not mean that the Afghans have been completely abandoned. Washington continues to provide support, including by striking militant positions, Kirby said. The United States increased the number of airstrikes last week.
The US Special Representative for Afghan Reconciliation has traveled to Doha – he plans to call on the Taliban to stop the offensive.
On Sunday evening, a Taliban political bureau spokesman warned the United States against further interference in Afghan affairs. And he said that this Afghan government started the war, and the Taliban only responded.
The US Embassy in Kabul criticized the Taliban attack on Afghan cities. They said that this contradicts the Taliban’s statement of support for a settlement through the Doha talks.
Meanwhile, since Friday, the Taliban have seized the fifth Afghan capital. At least 27 children have been killed and 136 injured in the past 72 hours, according to UNESCO. In just the past few months, 3,000 people have been killed in the country.300 thousand were forced to leave their homes.

In the 1800s and early 1900s, they were very popular – almost everyone had a headdress – or a baseball cap, or a flat cap, or a hat. At the time, flat caps were the most popular model. Hatstore also sells flat caps, but our largest range consists of more modern caps such as Flexfit caps, Snapback caps and oversized caps. Baseball caps have a long history and are now an essential accessory. Since all fashion, trends and styles always come back, this means that we will not only follow exclusively the latest trends in the world of baseball caps, but also return to the old models that were previously the most fashionable.
Some of the most famous models we offer are the New Era – NY Yankees 940 Basic Flexfit – No. One, the New Era – MLB Basic 59Fifty, Nike – Swoosh, Mitchell & Ness – Team Arch and many more. The number of these models is limited and sold only at certain short intervals. Examples of companies we work with are Mitchell & Ness New Era, Fox, Metal Mulisha and others. Most baseball caps are made from cotton, but there are models made from other types of materials. Wool, spandex and leather are all popular baseball caps. It is also very common to combine different materials in one model – this is done in order to make baseball caps more thoughtful, and to take the best qualities of certain types of materials, for example, elasticity.Stretch hats, including Flexfit caps, have become very popular over the past 20 years. The elastic baseball cap fits perfectly and holds on the head, but does not squeeze to the point of pain. Adjustable caps are also very popular nowadays – they allow you to customize the size to suit you.
If we talk about baseball caps, there are many models of them. Some of the most popular models in Hatstore’s range are Snapback Caps, Flexfit Caps, One-Piece, Adjustable, 5-Panel Trucker Caps, Flat Caps and many more.Snapback caps feature a straight visor and a plastic closure for adjusting the size. Flexfit caps have a closed neck, stretch fabric and a curved visor. Caps with a closed back and a straight visor are one-dimensional baseball caps. Adjustable baseball caps are the most common when it comes to baseball caps. They have a curved visor and a regulator at the back of the head – either a plastic clasp, a strap, or Velcro. Five-panel – these are low baseball caps made of five parts with a regulator at the back of the head.A baseball that has a mesh back with a plastic clasp for adjusting the size is called a Trucker baseball cap. Flat caps are the oldest type of cap and the most different from the rest of the models. They have a very short visor and a thin profile, which is typical for flat caps.
Hatstore offers you the opportunity to personalize your baseball cap – you can embroider it with your own text.
