What is RC Lacrosse. How does it develop premier lacrosse players. Where are RC alumni playing college lacrosse. What are the key policies for players and parents. How does RC Lacrosse prepare athletes for college-level play.

Parents, please watch games from the side of the field opposite the players and always set a good example for our boys. We expect you to be respectful towards players, coaches, officials and other parents at all times. Unsportsmanlike parent behavior may lead to player removal from the club. If you have a problem please contact your coach or the club administration at an appropriate time.

Vitamin D deficiency contributes directly to the acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS)
Rationale:
Vitamin D deficiency has been implicated as a pathogenic factor in sepsis and intensive therapy unit mortality but has not been assessed as a risk factor for acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). Causality of these associations has never been demonstrated.
Objectives:
To determine if ARDS is associated with vitamin D deficiency in a clinical setting and to determine if vitamin D deficiency in experimental models of ARDS influences its severity.
Methods:
Human, murine and in vitro primary alveolar epithelial cell work were included in this study.
Findings:
Vitamin D deficiency (plasma 25(OH)D levels <50 nmol/L) was ubiquitous in patients with ARDS and present in the vast majority of patients at risk of developing ARDS following oesophagectomy. In a murine model of intratracheal lipopolysaccharide challenge, dietary-induced vitamin D deficiency resulted in exaggerated alveolar inflammation, epithelial damage and hypoxia. In vitro, vitamin D has trophic effects on primary human alveolar epithelial cells affecting >600 genes. In a clinical setting, pharmacological repletion of vitamin D prior to oesophagectomy reduced the observed changes of in vivo measurements of alveolar capillary damage seen in deficient patients.
Conclusions:
Vitamin D deficiency is common in people who develop ARDS. This deficiency of vitamin D appears to contribute to the development of the condition, and approaches to correct vitamin D deficiency in patients at risk of ARDS should be developed.
Trial registration:
UKCRN ID 11994.
Keywords:
ARDS; Innate Immunity.
2nd Person Spotted Flying Jetpack Over LA
- Airline crew members spotted a person in a jetpack flying at an altitude of 6,000 feet high near Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on Wednesday.
- This is the second such jetpack sighting near LAX in six weeks.
- The FBI is currently investigating both cases.
Stop us if you’ve heard this one before: On Wednesday afternoon, crew members on an airliner flying near Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) once again spotted a person in a jetpack gliding at an altitude of 6,000 feet high, a few miles northwest of the flight hub.
✈ You like badass planes. So do we. Let’s nerd out over them together.
It’s the second time in six weeks that aviation professionals have observed someone in a jetpack flying near LAX.
At 1:45 p.m. PST, the crew of the LAX-bound China Airlines Flight 006, a Boeing 777 coming from Taipei, alerted air traffic controllers of the strange sight. Here’s part of the transcript of the conversation between the China Airlines crew and air traffic control, according to audio obtained by The War Zone:
China Airlines 006: “We just saw a bright object at 6,000. ”
LAX Tower: “006 heavy can you say that one more time please?”
China Airlines 006: “We saw a flying object like a [this part is hard to decipher, but it sounded like] flight suit jetpack at 6,000.”
LAX Tower: “Was it a UAV or was it a jetpack?”
China Airlines 006: “Like a jetpack. Too shiny. It’s too far.”
LAX Tower: “006 heavy, roger, thank you… Emirates 215 heavy there was a jetpack reported about 13 miles ahead.”
The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed to CNBC it received the report, and promptly alerted local law enforcement. Rest assured the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is also on the case, as a spokeswoman told the New York Times the Bureau is “investigating multiple reports of what, according to witnesses, appeared to be an individual in a jetpack near LAX.”
This content is imported from {embed-name}. You may be able to find the same content in another format, or you may be able to find more information, at their web site.
The FBI is already digging into a similar recent escapade at LAX. On August 29, a pilot for American Airlines Flight 1997 spotted what he believed to be “a guy in a jetpack” just 300 yards to the left of his plane, which was soaring over the busy airspace above the airport at an altitude of about 3,000 feet. (Another pilot headed for LAX summed up the whole situation pretty succinctly: “Only in L.A.”)
These feats sound farfetched—especially at 6,000 feet, which the Times points out is nearly six times the height of L.A.’s Wilshire Grand Tower, the tallest building west of the Mississippi—but the stunts aren’t totally unprecedented. For example, an Indian pilot almost reached an altitude of 6,000 feet in a short jetpack flight in Dubai earlier this year, per the Times.

And perhaps the LAX daredevil wasn’t technically using a jetpack. In 2016, Martin Aircraft Company of New Zealand debuted a prototype that could reach a maximum speed of 46 miles per hour and a flight ceiling of 3,000 feet. The apparatus isn’t a true jetpack, as it uses twin-ducted fans, and the wearer can’t put it on like a backpack—but it’s still an experimental flying device that could possibly propel a person up to the level of airplanes in the sky.
While Martin Aircraft shuttered in 2019, if someone already had their hands on the technology, it could have been in the sky. Martin intended on providing its gear to first responders for use during natural disasters and search-and-rescue missions, such as battling the wildfires that continue to blaze across California. But that appears to be a stretch.
Needless to say, flying in a jetpack in the vicinity of a commercial airliner is an extraordinarily dumb thing to do. Veer too close to the craft and you could be sucked into the engine, damage the plane, and, you know, die. Don’t be like the mysterious LAX jetpack man.
Note: The lead photo shows French pilot Franky Zapata flying his Flyboard jetpack during the 2018 Red Bull Air Race World Championship on April 21, 2018 in Cannes.

Can-Am Maverick 1000R X RC
It is strange to write a test when there is still nothing on the factory page. Only 5 variations of the Commander in the SxS section and not a hint of a new sports car.Russia really began to play a significant role, at least as a sales market for recreation equipment, and they began to reckon with us – the world presentation of the Maverick 1000R X RS in Russia took place on September 16, that is, simultaneously with Canada and America. And the first running tests the journalists went to ride the very next day …
The first live Maverick 1000R X RS rode into the crowd in front of the audience to award the 2012 Can-Am Trophy Series winners after the third round in Kazan. The host once casually announced “Ladies and Gentlemen, now you will witness the first departure of the new Canadian SxS – Maverick 1000R X RS”. Two cars left, one in the standard X RS and the other with accessories from the 2013 collection. Externally, almost a copy of the Commander, especially the front. The rear view is more interesting, due to the architecture of its multi-link suspension and minimalist body, from under which two pretty mufflers peep out. But I expected more … How many rumors and speculations have been circulating over the past two years that Canadians will show such a sporty SxS that owners of Polaris RZR XP 900 and Arctic Cat Wildcat 1000i will have no choice but to hand over their cars to a collection point for non-ferrous metal, add a little and go to BRP dealers for a new enchanting SxS! But as life experience suggests, everything that initially evokes violent emotions turns out to be not so interesting along the way, and more meaningful things are not revealed immediately and not easily. Therefore, I walked around the Maverick, looked at the intricate rear suspension, twisted the large (by eye) FOX Podium X shock absorbers, did not sit in the cockpit (standard Commander saloon) and went to sleep. Tomorrow there will be a test, and it will become clear what he has down there … In the morning, before driving, he took a tape measure and measured the main parameters that worried all fans of cross-country driving – wheelbase and track width. The measurements inspired healthy optimism. The base has grown by 21.6 centimeters compared to the old Commander, and amounted to 214 centimeters. In fact, Maverick was made a kind of intermediate version between the Wildcat 1000 and the RZR XP 900. If the former has a giant base – 241.3 cm, then the latter has only 206.8 … The width has also increased. The Commander in this nomination was the “narrowest” – 148.9 cm. Maverick “added” 13 cm, as a result, the width of the new Canadian – 162 cm. Do you know how much width the RZR XP 900 is? That’s right – 162. 6. That is, the Canadians did all the racing performance either better than that of the XP 900, or not worse … The task was not to beat the Wildcat. Why? Well, after all, the SxS class is more capital and customer-intensive than a buggy. And Canadians very clearly count money … Two new Maverick 1000R X RS and an old friend of Commander 1000 XT went to the test. It is very useful for understanding the differences not just to drive a new technique, but to go back to basics. Then the difference is obvious to the eye and factual to the touch … First impressions – a new motor! That is, the motor, of course, is old, but the Canadians set it up in a completely new way. Tuned intake, increased compression, correct exhaust. Definitely shifted the power peak to the higher revs zone, and now the Rotax 976 V-Twin is a very lively and responsive engine.Plus it’s the strongest SxS in the industry with 101 horsepower. To say that the Commander had a weak motor? Definitely nonsense. The motor on this machine was always enough for the eyes and shove uphill, and push in a mud bath. But there was “only” 85 strength … Going to the Maverick 1000R X RS you don’t get into such a significant increase. Yes, it rides cool. Especially when you drive the tachometer needle under 7 thousand revolutions and there you twist her own. The Maverick rides like it doesn’t have 588 kilograms dry weight like a light beach buggy. And only after seeding again on the Commander, you “stick” into the difference. Commander guys after Maverick it’s just … just UTV. At high speed sweeps on the field tracks, it becomes clear that the weight distribution of the Maverick 1000R X RS has changed dramatically. Not that radical, because the motor remained in the same place (as it seemed to me), and the height of the device remained the highest in the class (188.5 centimeters). But after playing with the base, front and rear suspensions, unloading the body and widening the track, the Maverick’s handling became sharper. In the nature of his reactions, inertia, massiveness, passivity disappeared … How was it on the Commander? I slightly turned the steering wheel at speed, and the back went smoothly in a skid. This trick won’t work with Maverick. He drives clearly where and how much the steering wheel is turned. Sometimes it is even too clear, which is frightening. Sharpened to the trajectory, so sharpened. The suspension perfectly fulfills the wave. The Maverick 1000R X RS is equipped with one of the most advanced and powerful shock absorbers in the SxS industry – the FOX Podium X RC 2.5 HPG. The travel of both the front and rear suspension is 35.6 cm! This is no longer 25.4 cm for the Commander … I remember trying to outrun the RZR XP 900 in the Can-Am Trophy, watching with horror the giant travel of its Trailing Arm rear suspension. Now the Maverick 1000R X RS has the same, and the front is even better. But let’s talk about the rear … Torsional Trailing A-Arms – independent link suspension by its design represents a progressive compact 5-link suspension, powerful, energy-intensive and at the same time long-stroke. The tricky angle at which it is deployed in the direction of travel provides excellent contact with the road and eliminates parasitic steering under load. The organizers of the test for the journalists guaranteed the nearest cross table at a distance insufficient for one fuel tank, because there are two test units, and there are many who want to jump 40 meters. But we found a little jump. The Maverick 1000R X RS pulls off the trampoline nicely without extreme dive. And it comes pleasantly, without shaking the soil and cervical vertebrae. Later I came across the weight distribution scheme of the Maverick in the context of comparison with competitors. So, despite the fact that it has a mid-engine layout, and the excellent flying “Cat” has a motor practically on the rear axle, both have a weight distribution along the axes – 44/56 (front / rear). These numbers are encouraging and we will definitely have a more serious jump test soon. And a few words about ergonomics. There is nothing to say, because the driver’s and passenger’s workplace is just a Commander. Changed nothing. Because it is not necessary. I rode both on tests and in races on competitors, and I will say that today there is no more thoughtful and friendly ergonomics. With positioning, everything is clear. Commander with all its 5 versions remains in the BRP production program as a tourist SxS with full utilitarian functions. Maverick 1000R X RS is positioned as a racing SxS in the maximum configuration and top accessories.By the way, I forgot that there is also a “simple” Maverick 1000R. Empty. It will be poorer in components and it seems like it will not be taken to Russia. This is right. To Europe … I don’t understand how dealers will continue to sell Commander? Rumor has it that the Maverick will be priced less than the XT version. And it is not clear how the less weak and more expensive sports competitors will be sold? I’m afraid that in Russia the Maverick 1000R X RS might become like an iPhone 5 – a standard herd phone, there is no other. Then you have to buy a Wildcat 1000 or RZR XP 900. More expensive, weaker, but more individual.
First purchases – chassis and power plant / Habr
Power plant – sounds kind of strange, but if you think about it, it very clearly describes the very components that make the model move. Not sure if servo is included here (left / right). If you have read the first part of this series, then you know that there are models for internal combustion engines and electric motors. Since for the most part I describe my experience – we will talk about electric motors and accessories for them.
RC Cars: Introduction
Writing a manual on electric motors and regulators is boring and boring. I’ll add useful links at the end, for the more curious. In this article, we will consider the MAXIMUM that you need to know, how for a person who wants to have fun + not fall face down in the mud, in holivars in the area. I will try to write about what is really important and what I was guided by myself.
As a typical programmer, I went the hard way, trying to figure out how it all works and trying to find the best one.But in reality, you can’t just calculate and plan everything in advance.
You probably watched missile launches that were canceled at the last moment. The cost of making a mistake is high and the trial takes time and preparation. I don’t know why it’s pinning me, but something like that. With real hobbies, if you bought something, something is wrong or something is broken, you will not be able to simply download another program or library and solve the problem. Delivery of new parts will have to wait days or even weeks.
Finding out what needs to be tweaked or tweaked is possible only when you get on the track. It’s good if it happens once a week. So read less and listen to the experts. Try it better. The math is not easy here, and questions such as “Will my motor overheat after a couple of laps?” you just get tired of answering. It’s easier to drive and measure 🙂
The structure of the RC car
Before going to the store, it’s logical to figure out what these cars are made of. I did not have any particular difficulties with this. There are not many components.
- Chassis
- Electric motor
- ESC (controls the electric motor)
- Servo
- Battery
- Equipment (for control)
With cars, as well as with computers, the choice is huge. In the first article, we looked at the different classes of cars. They can be purchased ready-made, half-finished, or simply the necessary set of accessories. If you are interested in ready-made ones, then I do not understand what are you doing here? 🙂
Ready ones are marked RTR – Ready to run, that is, ready to ride. Such kits even come with equipment out of the box. Of course, such models are more suitable either for those who do not want to understand at all at the moment, or as a gift.
ARR – Almost Ready to Run, that is, almost ready to ride. As a rule, this is a chassis with a motor, ESC regulator and a servo drive. You need to buy additional equipment, battery, charger.
And there is also a Kit version. It’s just a chassis. The case, so to speak. It can be assembled, and maybe disassembled. I would probably recommend taking the collected ones. If you are a beginner, you will have time to sort it out. Although, if you are a car owner, I think you already have the necessary skills 🙂
Chassis
Chassis means what everything is attached to – suspension, wheels, etc. Sold both assembled and disassembled.I’m sure you can collect everything in detail. It’s quite difficult to figure it out from a habit. Shock absorbers, transmission, all sorts of differentials, fists and a lot of things that I don’t even know the exact name.
The choice of chassis is largely dictated by the class of model you want, scale and margin of safety.
(under the internal combustion engine it may differ slightly in mountings, body)
I am the kind of person who loves first of all with my eyes, and therefore, seeing my chassis, I was freaked out by how cool and cool everything looks. Without thinking for a long time, I decided that I would take this particular model. I have a BSR Berserker 1/8 Truggy Kit.
Intagrams have different accounts about RC. If you are a lover of aesthetics, then there you can see all the beauty on this topic. For example hashtag #rccars.
When choosing, you should pay attention to the materials. The cheaper they are, the more often you will have to purchase consumables. I am not an extreme racer and have not yet bought any of the chassis parts for replacement, but judging by the availability of consumables on sale and videos on the Internet, how cars break down – it’s worth thinking about.
The more plastic there is in the chassis, the cheaper and more fragile it is. But this does not mean that it should be entirely made of carbon or aluminum, although this happens 🙂
As a rule, materials are mixed, which is due to the desire for adequate weight and the fact that metal is not always better. For example, the base and “butterflies” (what the suspension arms and shock absorbers are attached to) are aluminum, the suspension arms are “strong plastic”, and other small non-critical mountings are “simpler” plastic.
(The wheels on my chassis are attached here)
The rear butterfly is metal, shock absorbers, suspension arms, and a spoiler are attached to it.A differential (plastic) is attached below. The clearance of the model is regulated by installing shock absorbers on various holes on the butterfly, suspension arms, as well as replacing the shock absorbers themselves.
The photo also shows the anti-roll bar. Initially, the chassis was without it, but it was included. After the first day of pokatushek, I realized that the car often turns over when cornering and still decided to put stabilization. Joy like a real mechanic 🙂 It looks like Lego as a child was not enough for me.
Chassis, like real cars, have different transmissions. Full / partial drive. For example, my model has four-wheel drive and as many as 3 differentials. Front, rear and center closest to the motor to match the rear and front wheels. Differentials are connected by shafts:
It also happens with belts:
Differentials are filled with a special fluid. This liquid comes in various viscosities. Moreover, if, like me, there are 3 differentials, then each of them can have its own viscosity depending on your needs (honestly, I ride with what came from the factory and have no idea what it affects, probably on cornering handling).
Of the interesting features of the structure, there are horizontal shock absorbers:
In general, as you understand, the field for tuning and chassis settings is endless. But first of all, it depends on the track on which you are going to conquer the peaks.
How to choose Electric motor and ESC?
If you simplify the selection task, it boils down to a choice for your scale. Just look in the description for what scales and classes this electric motor / controller is.Of course, this is not advice for professional riders or those who potentially want to become one. Therefore, I will share what I learned myself when choosing an electric motor.
Immediately I would like to let you understand that you need to listen to “experts” less. The topic is quite complex, as well as extensive and highly individual. The characteristics of the model literally depend on everything. Starting from the class and the track on which you will race, ending with wheels, suspension, transmission, weight and so on. And most importantly, it depends on you, because it will be you who will manage and enjoy it, not xdickname2010.If you are a programming person, then you have a great idea of what a holivar is on the topic of which motor is better.
Like a typical noob, I went to read articles and forums. It’s okay with articles, but forums are a mistake. You will surely hear the answer to your question, after a ton of judgments and stories, what is the basis of the world, but all this is not worth it. This hobby has existed for several years. Just starting from the scale of your model, you will put together a typewriter and everything will be cool, so do not be afraid to make a mistake.
2S or 4S?
First you need to figure out what 1S, 2S, 3S, 4S and so on are. This parameter will follow everywhere – from the battery to the motor. The parameter will be signed as voltage – voltage. It stands for simple:
1s = 1 bank in a battery with 3.7v in the nominal value
2S, this is already a battery with two 3.7v banks connected in series and giving a total of 7.4v. The more voltage the more speed and power.3S – 4S are maximum values for 1: 8 scale. We will talk about the choice of the battery, as well as the features in a separate article. For now, that’s all there is to know.
Electric motor
Electric motors are of two main types – Brushless and Brushless ..
Brushed motors are cheaper, but models with such motors develop a lower speed and such motors are less reliable.
You have probably seen such motors somewhere:
This is exactly what a collector motor is.If you look closely at its structure, the most important disadvantage is obvious:
Brushes and the collector are mechanically damaged by friction:
Like any kind of electric motor, the rotor is accelerated by an electric field. The magnitude of this field depends on the voltage applied to the windings, the greater the magnetic field is created, the faster the rotor will spin. The motor is powered by direct current.
Brushless motors are more expensive, but can reach higher speeds and are more durable. The model runs faster and longer.
This is a more complex motor and requires a regulator to operate. (As I understand it, the collector too, but to a lesser extent). By supplying current to such a motor, you will not make it spin. Wear-resistant since it has no brushes, the rotor literally does not come into contact with anything other than the bearing at the outlet.
(This is a schematic diagram of a fancy Castle Creations motor, but generally typical of the average brushless motor on the market)
Brushless motors themselves are divided into several other types. The first parameter is the location of the rotor.
Inrunner – this is the type used in typewriters. The driving part is inside.
Outrunner – the motor body itself is spinning. These are most often used in quadcopters.
Sensors
The second and more interesting parameter is sensors.
There are Sensored and Sensorless. That is, with and without a sensor.
What does the sensors have to do with it? A very reasonable question.
The point is that in order to spin the rotor, the regulator needs to understand where to “shoot”.The motor has 3 phases, if you do not delve into the circuit, then the point is that in order to rotate the rotor, the regulator needs to use certain magnets, depending on the position of the rotor.
It is to find the position of the rotor that the sensors are used.
It sounds logical, but what difference does it make to me what he is there and how he does it? The fact is that it depends on whether your car will be able to drive slowly, as well as smoother and gentler gas, brake. If you want a Crawler for yourself, and these are models that drive slowly, climbing “mountains”, then you definitely need a touch motor.
(for sensor motors there is an additional connector on the bottom. Pay attention to the specification of the ESC regulator, it may not be able to work with sensor motors. The motor will work, but the sensor will not be useful)
The brushless sensorless motor cannot start smoothly, since the regulator does not knows the initial position of the rotor. And so he will rotate it at random. If you don’t give it proper gas, the model may not go. With the beginning of at least some kind of rotation, electromagnetic induction jokes come into effect and the regulator understands what and where.
If you are a fan of driving, and a fan of sharp starts with dust, then sensorless for you, personally I am quite happy with mine 🙂
But based on communication with people who participate in races, for a better “feel” of the model, you still need a sensory motor.
KV is big for me, but for me it is less and happy!
This is space in terms of holivars, how much Kv do you need. Typical values for typewriters are 1800Kv – 2600Kv.
Roughly speaking, Kv is the number of revolutions per volt. That is, taking a motor with 2300Kv, applying one volt to it without load, it will spin the rotor up to 2300 rpm.
How many revolutions do I need? It’s hard to google the answer to such a question. But the starting point is the following:
The lower the Kv, the more torque, the more thrust the motor has, the slower it is. The more Kv, the less thrust, the faster it is.
My TrackStar 2300Kv motor has 2 poles and a delta winding. Model weighing under 6 kg. starts briskly, drives fast, dynamic (during a fairly fast ride, I can gas and she will stand on a rack, that is, I have enough stock of agility). Therefore, it is difficult for me to make recommendations, I have experience with only one motor and on the forum experts assured me that it would be a turtle and a motor in general! About the fact that the motor atstoy told me and on the track – and I’m happy. Therefore, this is all very subjective and with the choice of the ideal motor, both theoretically and practically, you can postpone, having mastered at least one. How else to understand the difference?
Gear ratio
In the photo you can see two gears, a pignon (which is on the motor) and a spur (which is large, on the differential). In useful links, I left a couple of articles on the gear ratio. It is important not to overload the motor, but also not to give it an easy life.
Changing the number of pinion and spur teeth changes the gear ratio of the transmission, which directly affects 2 indicators:
- the maximum speed of the model (it is higher if the spur-pinion ratio is less).
- acceleration of the model (it is more if the spur-pinion ratio is higher, because the torque is higher).
Number of turns, number of fields, type of winding, resistance, temperature
Do not bother yourself with this nonsense, it really is not worth it. If you really want to, then the links at the end of the article are at your disposal.
Cheat sheet for holivars:
Within the same model line, motors with different Kv differ in the number of winding turns – the fewer turns, the more Kv.
The more fields, the less Kv and more traction. The fewer the fields, the more rpm and less traction. As I understand it, this is due to the fact that the rotor turns faster between two magnets on its axis than between 5.
The normal temperature of the engine is up to ~ 90-100 degrees. I didn’t have more than 60 on the track. A high temperature is bad because it affects the parameters of the circuit. At high temperatures, magnets can lose their strength. If you are completely nerd, then we can also say that at high temperatures, the resistance from the electromagnetic induction of the motor decreases and the current increases, which can lead to overheating, short circuit and fire of the motor. This is also true if you block the wheels, and due to the fact that there is no rotation, there is no induction, it will soon burn out.
Delta or star winding – as I understand it at the moment, these are ways of transmitting electricity in 3 phases, the principle of connection, so to speak. In large, not for machines, electric motors, when starting the “star” and “triangle” circuits, they switch automatically, since this allows you to reduce the current load that occurs when the motor is started. For example, there is a star at the start, and then a delta.
ESC regulator
(ESC operation diagram, and “star” branching, video in useful links)
ESC – Electronic Speed Controller, electronic speed controller. It is connected to the radio receiver and controls the electric motor, and also powers the servo (motor for left / right).
(3 wires on the left go to the motor, red and black on the right, connects to the battery)
It is worth choosing a regulator with a small margin and with the thought in mind that it can be used not only for car models, and not only with some specific motor. It is advisable to get a regulator that can work with sensory motors, even if you do not plan to buy such a motor. For growth, so to speak. Of the main parts of the regulator, in addition to the main circuit, BEC and capacitors can be distinguished.
BEC is used to lower the battery voltage for acceptable servo and radio. After all, the servo and the radio are powered by the ESC. If you are a special enthusiast, then there are people who lack the built-in and they solder their BEC.
Capacitors smooth out voltage surges in the circuit, they can happen both at start and when braking / stopping the motor power due to the induction of the wires themselves (and this happens, he himself is in shock, there is a link to the forum in useful links). As with the BEC, if you are missing the built-in capacitors, you can solder them.
To configure the regulators, software cards are used:
As a rule, there you can adjust the voltage compartment (if the voltage drops, this means that your battery is discharging and this is potentially dangerous, since the voltage drops, amperes, temperature rise and voila) … It also sets up the maximum braking force, initial impulse, on / off reverse, etc.
Do not buy software cards for ESC.They will most likely be at local amateurs or track owners
Amperes and Voltage
We already know about voltage. 3S-4S don’t scare us.
Amps – This is the third most important thing in the motor specification to pay attention to.
Cont Current: 80A – Current in nominal value, that is, at least drive for hours at this current and everything will be fine.
Max or Burst current: 120A – Maximum short-term current. For example, when starting or braking.
It is impossible to answer the question of how much current will flow through the system without experiments.Calculate with a margin, but adequate. The regulator for the motor should have the same values, or better a little more. For example, for the motor from the example above, the parameters are suitable – Cont 90A, Burst 140A.
You can build on the power of the motor, for example:
The power of the motor is 1600W, using a 4S battery we get – 1600W / (4 * 3.7v) = 108A.
There will be a separate article about batteries, but looking at the front, 3.7v is the nominal voltage (average). A fully charged can gives 4.2v, so the current will be even less. Do not forget that this is a calculation on the maximum numbers. In reality, the model has a stage of acceleration, deceleration, inertia.
If we take into account that a current of 108A flows through the circuit of my model, then the connectors from the battery to the regulator should have burned out a long time ago. But that’s okay. I don’t even want to scare you and describe to you which connectors can withstand how long. I have a + 1600W motor and a t-plug in the documentation of which 45A is stated, maximum 60A, after an hour of driving they do not even heat up.Therefore, do not worry too much as I did, I counted myself 150A under load. Such loads simply do not exist on a 1: 8 scale unless you have square wheels.

ESC Combo + Electric Motor
Have you ever bought a DSLR? Surely you know that there is a body and a lens. In fact, these are two things that are necessary in order to take photographs. How you will take photos and how you will get them depends equally on each of them (of course, if you do not take into account post-processing).Great advice for a beginner would be – take the whale version. In it, the carcass and the lens go in one box and fit perfectly together. (Professionals, of course, will prefer to buy everything separately, but that’s another story)
To solder or not to solder, that’s the question
Often, motors and controllers come with wires included, but not soldered. There are several reasons: the diameter of the wire depends on the currents of your machine, the length of the wire depends on the location of the parts on the chassis. If you are confident in soldering, then it makes no difference to you. Just remember – the weakest points in the chain are the soldering points 🙂
If you do not have a soldering iron and experience in this matter, then you can contact people on the track or to service centers. The track will be conditionally free.
Moisture protection
Accumulators are not afraid of water, motors are not afraid. But the regulator and the servo can get bad. Therefore, if you are planning to bathe your machine, then pay attention to the waterproof postscript. The only drawback of such regulators is the complexity of the repair, since the microcircuits are filled with resin
Stores where to buy
In the first article, I touched on this topic a little, but it seems that I should write again. In Russia, Ukraine, there are not many or practically no manufacturers of spare parts for typewriters. Basically, all goods are imported. Therefore, you should think about the taxes that you can potentially pay when buying on foreign sites.
Ask the store to understate the cost
Of the well-known stores, you can single out hobbyking , it has both his brands and others. For example Turnigy. But the components from Turnigy are not famous for the top-end features. Although I’m happy with the motor. I bought my combo there. As well as the chassis. Which is, in fact, a large part of the car. There is also horizonhobby, rcsuperstore, rcplanet, and so on. In fact, I only googled them that 🙂 The fact is that I would recommend to study the product on these sites, and to search and buy already on the local market. Local stores google very quickly and, as a rule, you will find everything, since there are not so many of them, due to probably the relatively high cost of components. The difference in price between overseas + taxes and local is not so big that it would be worn out with payment and waiting for delivery.
Find clubs, friends, organizations that practice this hobby
Then you will probably be able to buy goods at a discount.
Companies of components that are on hearing: hobbywing – their motors are usually black and white, like a zebra and castle creations – motors are usually green (with such a description on the track, you, as a pro, will distinguish components from others. In general, the brand is usually written on the motors). Both deal mostly with ESC and electric motors. What is the difference between them, I cannot say, the experience is only with the hobbywing. It suits me. Castle creations are more expensive and judging by the reviews there are more settings. You understand, to each his own and to get the maximum, you need to clearly understand why you need it. While you are a beginner, take + – intermediate. You have enough with your head, I’m sure.
Next will be
I slightly revised the list, in fact, we just have to consider the servos, equipment and radio. And a little exotic on how to control an ESC or a servo using a raspberry pi.

9000 places of Russian defense
British warplanes and ships have significantly increased the intensity of their patrols along the Russian borders in order to reveal the weaknesses of the Russian defense for possible future use. This is an unprecedented operation, writes the British The Sunday Times.
According to the newspaper, since the last week of August, 28 planes of the Royal Air Force of Great Britain have been sighted near the borders of Russia in the Black Sea region and off the coast of the Kola Peninsula. At the same time, the grouping of aircraft in one sortie reached five.
Typhoon fighters, Voyager tanker aircraft, Sentinel radar reconnaissance and strike control aircraft, RC-135 strategic reconnaissance aircraft and Boeing E-3 Sentry early warning aircraft were used in long-range flights.
Two weeks ago, the same British publication reported on the first flights of Typhoon fighters over Ukraine, TASS reports. Since then, patrolling near the borders of Russia on the Black Sea has increased, the newspaper writes, citing military sources and data from air resources.
For example, Typhoon fighters made their first flights near Murmansk, covering almost 2500 kilometers and reaching the Arctic Circle. This coincided with an international naval operation in the Arctic Circle led by ships from the British Navy.On September 7, the Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom called the goal of the upcoming operation to demonstrate the commitment of NATO countries to free navigation in the region.
It was announced that the operation would use a British Navy Tide class frigate and tanker, a US Navy destroyer and a Norwegian Navy frigate, supported by a Danish patrol aircraft.
According to a high-ranking source in the intelligence services, the information collected during such missions will allow the experts of the British Ministry of Defense “to identify the weaknesses of the opponents and try to use them.”
The other day, Chief of the Main Operations Directorate of the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces – First Deputy Chief of the General Staff Sergei Rudskoy said that foreign reconnaissance aircraft began to appear in the Black Sea region 40 percent more often than last year. The intensity of aerial reconnaissance near the Crimean peninsula has increased even more – by 61 percent.
Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu pointed out at the beginning of September that for the first time since the Cold War, a detachment of NATO warships was deployed in the Barents Sea.According to him, Moscow is concerned about NATO’s desire to demonstrate strength by increasing the intensity of the bloc’s reconnaissance activities near the Russian borders.
Even more, according to Shoigu, something else is alarming: if earlier it was mainly about flights of reconnaissance aircraft near the borders of Russia, now regular flights have begun with imitation of the delivery of missile strikes. According to him, approaches with training, imitation of the delivery of missile strikes are carried out, including with the use of a large number of aircraft.
This is what pain looks like – Russian-language website of Deportivo fans
Is it worthy
To resign under the blows of fate,
Or we must resist
And in mortal combat with a whole sea of troubles
End them?
(W. Shakespeare “Hamlet”)
It’s November and the weather is typical for this time. You look out the window and sadness slowly rolls over.Drowsiness and gloomy mood are largely determined by the weather, but to a large extent the match that stands before our eyes. Deportivo played a very weak match. Again. Immediately after the second goal, Getafe was overcome with unrestrained melancholy. I wanted to go to the kitchen, knock over a glass of whiskey, go to bed and wake up on Saturday morning, slipping out of my nightmare and realizing that this was just a bad dream that accidentally flew under your pillow. But this is not a dream. This is reality.
The match continued as usual, two standard halves. But what’s strange is that there is nothing to write about the game itself. Our whole game ended in the 46th minute. Was the team on the pitch today? A team came out and left … eleven players left. Team play as a whole was not observed, there was a set of performers acting separately, who is better, who is worse. Getafe felt confident at Riasor, increasing the pressure on Depor’s weaknesses with every minute. For this, the Galicians and their helmsman were not ready, and unfortunately, Fernandez was unable to react to the changes in the game in a timely manner.
At the beginning of the second half, Getafe virtually destroyed Depor. But what is much sadder is that Deportivo could not answer this with something intelligible. An attempt to play more actively only led to confusion, a colossal amount of marriage in programs. The team played extremely narrowly, without ideology, and it seemed that they had completely lost their orientation in space, breaking down after the second conceded ball.
Depor, in his current state, is completely unprepared for power play, and this led to the fact that not the most powerful midfield of the blue-white guests in the second half was simply crushed. This means that without a well-staged game, similar problems will plague the Galicians throughout the season, even with teams of the Getafe level.
Not so long ago, a visit to Riasor promised a constant headache for any team. But now it’s all gone. So we continue to wait for La Coruña to become an impregnable fortress, and the Galicians will begin to calmly deal with any rival. And only then will it be possible to achieve the set goals.
And again tie the broken thread into a knot,
And say to yourself for the hundredth time that something can be changed.
Poetry
In La Coruña, on a glade,
On a tournament path
Defeated the Hitafites
Our star-studded team.
Do you need much for shame?
So that there is no defender,
So that someone from the “galaxy”
Failed to play with his foot.
Plus in the attack for good luck
We didn’t see it at all.
(As the matches show,
There is no problem with that either.)
Such a simple task
The lads have done all of a sudden …
Can you bleat an excuse,
Dear Vityusha friend.
