What’s the difference between early, open, and late registration?
Current Y members are eligible to register during the early registration period are teamed first, and members receive a discount. During open registration, players are teamed in the order they register according to requests noted in their registration. In the event a player has not made any requests at the time of their registration, teams will randomly be assigned. Registrations received during the late period will be processed in the order they are received, and players will be placed on teams as space allows. Please keep in mind that the participant will not receive their jersey prior to the first game day.
Can my child play on the same team as their friend?
You are able to request a coach, teammate(s), and practice days that work best for you at the time of registration. All requests are taken into consideration when creating team rosters but we cannot guarantee your requests can be accommodated.
I’ve registered my child. What’s next?
You can expect to receive your child’s team placement for the season approximately four (4) days prior to the season start date. You’ll also receive details like coach information, team roster, and practice time if applicable. You can expect to receive the game schedule for the season approximately one week prior to games beginning. Team and game information is communicated via email through PlayerSpace.
I personally didn’t register my child for sports, but someone else did. How can I begin receiving information instead?
This is an easy fix! Provide your child’s coach with your contact information and let them know that you need to be invited as a “fan” of the league on Playerspace. You’ll receive an email with a link get added, and from there you’ll see all of the necessary league information.
What is the weather policy and how do we deal with cancellations?
In the event weather forces a program cancellation, you will receive an email from Playerspace. Decisions on weather cancellations can be made with 15–30 minutes prior to your practice. On game days, updates will be posted and an email will be sent out via Playerspace as well. The decision on game cancellations can also be made with 15–30 minutes prior to scheduled game times.
We can’t play anymore. How do I get a refund?
If the YMCA cancels a program, all enrollees will receive a full refund of program fees only. Practice and/or games cancelled due to inclement weather will not result in any refund of participation fees. The YMCA will attempt to reschedule these sessions but doesn’t guarantee all sessions will be made up. If a make-up session gets rained out we will not reschedule a second make-up and no refund will be given for that class.
If a participant withdraws from a program prior to the first paid session, a full refund will be issued less a $10 processing fee. If a participant withdraws before the second game, a 75% refund will be issued less a $10 processing fee. If a participant withdraws after the second game, no refund will be issued.
Girls Teams – 2022 AAU Open Gym Workouts & Tryouts
Girls, grades 4-11 (as of Fall 2021).
All participants planning to attend open gym workouts and tryouts must register. The Open Gym Workouts (Aug 15 and 22) and Tryouts (Aug 28 and 29) are FREE to attend.
The open gym workouts and tryouts will be made up of drills and scrimmages. We will split the athletes up according to grade levels for scrimmages. We ask that each player bring a reversible jersey or shirt with a number on it so we can identify each player. We will start check-ins 30 minutes prior to each session so we can start on time.
We encourage everyone who is trying out to attend both open gym workouts and both days of tryouts. Players do not need to attend all 4 dates, however, we encourage everyone to get in front of our coaches as much as possible over all three weekends.
Parents will not be allowed to stay in the gym, or lobby, during tryouts.

We will ONLY make calls to players who MAKE THE TEAM. Calls will be made Sunday night, after tryouts. Acceptance of spot needs to be by noon the following day, Monday, August 30, 2021 or we will need to offer to someone else. Once you accept a spot on a team, we will collect a $250 deposit to hold your roster spot. All parents will make additional payments to cover total balance before the first tournament.

2022 AAU Season Info:
Team Fees:
Fees will be similar to 2021. For the 2021 season, fees for grades 4-11 ranged from $450-$1,250, and varied according to the number of roster spots, tournaments, out-of-state tournaments, and other factors. We do not pay for travel expenses for out of state tournaments or AAU cards. Uniforms will be included in the fees and will be yours to keep at the end of the season. In order to secure your roster spot, we will collect a team deposit of $250 once a commitment is made and the remaining fees will be paid before the first tournament. If fees are not paid, roster spots will not be protected, spots can be replaced and athletes will not be able to play. We will offer payment plans to help in any way we can, but you must communicate your financial need prior to, or upon, accepting a roster spot.
PLEASE NOTE: There will be NO REFUNDS once a commitment is made to accept a roster spot, including the deposit as well as other payments made towards the team fees.
Tournaments:
Tournament play will begin in April. We plan to have final schedules set once we have fully evaluated teams, but no later than March 1st. There will be between 4-10 tournaments. The number of tournaments will vary by age and level of team. Teams will play locally, regionally and nationally according to age and level of the team. Tournaments can be added as the season progresses per coach and player commitment.
Practice Schedule:
The Spring/Summer AAU season practices will begin in March. Each team will practice on average two times per week. Each practice will range from 90-120 minutes unless the team coach schedules differently. Most practices will be held on weeknights. Practice locations will be at the 43 Hoops Basketball Academy, Hopkins HS/Junior HS, and possibly other locations in the surrounding area according to how much space is needed. We will have the official nights of practice set once teams are completed.
* Unless communicated with the coach, it is very important that players are consistently attending practices in order to get the proper playing time etc.

Christopher “Chris” Jakob Pfeifer – Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation
Chris was 30 year of age, when he passed away unexpectedly in Scottsdale, AZ.
Chris was the only son born to Randolph “Randy” and Laurel “Lori” (Schmaltz) Pfeifer on October 25, 1988 and has one older sister Vanessa LeeAnne (Pfeifer) Frisch. In Chris’s early years, his family moved from Savage, MN to Zimmerman, MN and in this small town, Chris discovered one of his passions… basketball.
As a young boy, Chris was simple, and this was consistent throughout his life. Chris loved sports, matchbox cars, Legos, collecting stamps, sports cards, Tonka trucks, cars, old school Nintendo, riding his bike over jumps and most importantly, simple play with his sister. Year round, you would find him and Vanessa playing in the sandbox that his father built him for hours on end with his Tonka trucks. On those extra cold days, Chris would be on the living room floor playing matchbox cars or building for hours with Legos… Chris started playing T-ball for a season or two and then tried soccer and basketball. He was a natural with all sports and his love and passion for basketball flourished immediately.
Chris started playing recreational basketball and then played traveling AAU basketball year-round from elementary school to middle school. During his basketball career prior to graduating high school, he traveled and played in multiple different states across the country. Chris played for Hopkins from middle school through his senior year until graduating from Hopkins High School in 2007. Chris was a selfless individual and made many life-long friends throughout his high school years.
After graduating high school, his niece Giselle Lily Frisch was born Aug. 2007. Chris adored her and jumped at any opportunity to be with his niece or babysit her during college; Devan Ethan his nephew was born Nov. 2009. He loved being an uncle to both and was adored by his niece and nephew.
Chris received a scholarship from Concordia University Saint Paul and he continued his basketball career throughout college. During college, he worked part-time as a licensed security officer at Target Corp Headquarters, made the Dean’s list three times and graduated with a 3. 8 GPA. Chris received a bachelor’s degree and he majored in Criminal Justice, graduating from Concordia University on May 10, 2012. After graduation from Concordia University, Chris decided he was going to pursue another passion of his… cars! He decided that he wanted to learn how to work on them and Chris enrolled at Universal Technical Institute and decided to relocate to Avondale, AZ in May 2012, right after his graduation from Concordia. Needless, to say this was extremely quick and his sister learned all she could one evening before Chris started the drive to AZ in his bright blue Audi with the “one-touch window”. All possessions he cared about were loaded in his car as he set off on a new adventure to Arizona, leaving all family and friends behind. Chris graduated from Universal Technical Institute on May 3, 2013 with a 3.8 GPA and received “Perfect Attendance Award and Exceptional GPA Award” and received an associate’s degree in Automotive Technology. After graduation, Chris started employment with Celgene in Phoenix, AZ in May 2013.
Working in the compounding department at Celgene was like another family for Chris and he truly enjoyed working there. He had a complete extended family at his place of employment and was well loved.
Chris was passionate about people and helping others. He decided that he wanted to be a volunteer fire fighter and he did so with the Phoenix Fire Department. On Nov. 17, 2013, Chris became part of the Community Emergency Response Team in Phoenix, AZ.
One day, Chris decided he wanted to learn to ride a motorcycle and he sure did. By going out and purchasing one and learning how to ride it. Later he upgraded to his “lime green” motorcycle which was his ‘baby’ that he rode daily.
Summer of 2016, Chris decided that he wanted to take a road trip with his motorcycle from his home in AZ to MN for a family reunion. He took a cross country road trip on that motorcycle, all 6’ 6” of him… safety gear and all. His favorite part was CO with all the beautiful views and winding roads.
Most important to Chris was family and being with his niece and nephew. Throwing the kids up in the air was always a favorite of his and making the kids laugh.
Being a simple man, Chris enjoyed spending time with friends grabbing a beer at breweries or hole-in-the wall bars/restaurants (per Chris, they have the best food), riding his motorcycle with his buddies, going hiking at Camelback or Squaw Peak in AZ. Camelback and Squaw Peak were his favorite place to bring Vanessa and Dale hiking when they came to visit him in AZ. Which still as an adult, Chris would call his sister “Nessa”.
Chris’s favorite saying was “I’m not cheap, I am thrifty!”
Chris is going to be missed dearly and words cannot express the deep sadness and holes we have left in our hearts. Chris was extremely loyal, showed extreme patience, was completely selfless and showed discretion to all.
Chris survived by Sister, Vanessa (Pfeifer) Frisch and brother-in-law Dale; niece & nephew, Giselle Frisch & Devan Frisch; Parents, Randoph “Randy” & Laurel “Lori” (Schmaltz) Pfeifer; Grandparents: Clarence & Yvonne (Phillips) Schmaltz; Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends who Loved him dearly.
Chris is preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Jacob E & Mary Pfeifer, great grandparents: Jacob and Elizabeth Pfeifer, and Ruby Virginia (infant daughter), Joseph & Elizabeth Schmaltz, George & Clara Phillips and Titus & Francis Heisinger.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 1, 2019, 4-7:30 pm at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation in Prior Lake and also from 10-10:45 am before the service on Saturday at the church.
Celebration of Life Service will be on Saturday, March 2, 2019, 11:00 am at Christian Family Church, 7375 Bush Lake Road, Edina, MN.

INDIVIDUAL LESSONS
All lessons at the David Leadbetter Gold Academy Cornelia will be conducted using the latest teachıng software. At the end of your lesson you receive a DVD of your lesson. The DVD will include your original swings and the analysis which will be compared with a professional’s swing. The drills prescribed by your instructor will also be on your DVD and a final comparison of your original swing to your new swing.

GOLF SCHOOLS
All golf schools are conducted in a group format with a maximum ratio of 4: 1.
With the ratio of 4 students to 1 instructor, each student will receive a fair amount of individual attention whilst also having time to perfect their individual drills that the instructor has prescribed them to practice.
With four different schools we are sure you can find a school that suits your needs.
TWO DAY SCHOOL
Covering all areas of the game. You will have the opportunity to have a extensive video analysis of the full swing and also time to work on short game.
The school includes:
* 6 hours of instruction, 3 hours per day.
* Take home DVD analysis of your lessons.
* 4: 1 ratio student to instructor.
TWO DAY INTENSIVE SCHOOL
If you really want to make a difference to your game this is the school for you.Covering all parts of the game. Full swing, short game and course management on the golf course. The school will run with 3 hours instruction in the morning, lunch and then 3 hours in the afternoon on both days.
The school includes:
* 12 hours of instruction.
* Included in these 12 hours is a 2 hour playing lesson on the Faldo golf course.
* Lunch at the Faldo restaurant is included both days.
* Take home DVD analysis of your lessons.
* 4: 1 ratio student to instructor.
THREE DAY SCHOOL
3 hours per day either in the morning or the afternoon. Giving you a chance to either practice what you have been taught during the day or to play the Faldo golf course during the opposite time of the day that you have your school

• 9 hours of instruction.
• Take home DVD analysis of your lessons.
• 4: 1 ratio student to instructor.
FOUR DAY SCHOOL
If you really want to make some great improvements to your game but also having time to enjoy all the other activities of your holiday time, then this is the school for you. 3 hours of instruction per day covering all areas of the game with 2 hours on the Faldo course to finish off your school.
The school includes:
* 12 hours of instruction.
* Included in these 12 hours is a 2 hour playing lesson on the Faldo golf course.
* Take home DVD analysis of your lessons.
* 4: 1 ratio student to instructor.
PLAYING LESSONS ON THE FALDO COURSE
Anyone that has a playing lesson always says that it was money well spent.During the lesson you will learn how to improve your score by improving your pre shot routine, course management and by learning improved or different ways to play certain shots. The price is the same if you are one player or three players.
The programs cater for all levels of golfers from the complete beginner to whatever your ability is, just select a program that will complement your needs. There is a brief description of each program offered but if you have any questions please call our administrator and they can help you with any questions that you may have. Programs can also be tailor made to your specific requirements. We do have a special rate for juniors. The classification of a junior is 18 years of age and under but any junior under the age of 14 has to be accompanied by an adult, taking part in the golf school.
