About fools on the Internet | baj.media
“Why don’t you review honest websites every day and flag the ones that spread nonsense? The public is increasingly in need of such a service” (Umberto Eco).
Umberto Eco is a famous Italian, famous writer, philosopher, medievalist historian, specialist in semiotics, literary critic writes a lot of interesting things. Including: “ Talk about fools … took place during the press conference that followed the lecture, at which, answering I don’t remember what question, I shared a completely sensible observation. Having noted that there is inevitably a certain proportion of fools for the seven billion inhabitants of the planet, I noted that before most of them shared their crazy ideas only with relatives and friends at the bar – thus, their conclusions did not go beyond a rather narrow circle of people. Now, a significant number of these people have the opportunity to express their opinions on social networks. At the same time, their judgments are widely disseminated and mixed with those that are expressed by reasonable people” (Appeal to the Responsible Press )
That is, Umberto Eco has nothing against fools as such. And he only notes that “… the Internet allows those who are not distinguished by prudence to speak out, but the excess of nonsense exceeds the limits of admissible it doesn’t always work out that way” .
Of course, this is not always the case! Not only inconsistent, but also deliberately aggressive, offensive, boorish statements online “roll over the pier and fall down with a swift jack.”
And not only from those whom Umberto Eco disrespectfully but rightly calls fools. But, unfortunately, also from a considerable number of professional journalists who believe that everything is possible online. And saturating their materials in social networks with all sorts of conjectures and all sorts of expressions – up to the Russian mat. And now, it can be difficult to understand – who is a professional, and who is just a rude? But rude people are always louder. And it turns out, as once another literate person Vladimir Vysotsky wrote:
– And they shout to the smart – fools, fools!
– But fools are invisible …
To combat this, Umberto Eco suggests that the largest professional media “… devote at least a couple of pages a day to reviewing websites (how books or films are reviewed), highlighting reliable ones among them and stigmatizing those who that they post fakes or sin with inaccuracies. Respectable publications would be of great help to their readers, and at the same time they would attract to their side those netizens who began to contemptuously ignore newspapers. They would look at such a rubric daily” .
In order to implement such a project, says Umberto Eco, newspapers, of course, “… will need a team of analysts, many of whom will have to be found outside the editorial offices. Of course, such an enterprise will require a lot of investment, but it will undoubtedly be culturally valuable, and will mark the new function of the press .
I don’t know how possible such a project is in any country. So far, the author, in any case, finds it difficult to name something of this kind. But there is, it seems to me, another, more realistic way: just professionals should stop joining the ranks of fools and boors. Simply put: to comply with the ethical requirements of their media online.
Pa-Pa in pursuit of the leaders.
Milan, after a disastrous start, has pulled itself close to the group of leaders – Ancelotti’s wards are in fourth place in terms of lost points. And all this thanks to 18-year-old strikers – Pato and Palosky. The leader – “Inter” – does not intend to give up its positions, the “Nerazzurri” still have zero in the “Defeats” column. Strives for the championship game of Juventus, but this does not always work out.
Tour match: Udinese – Juventus – 1:2
Only one match stood apart on the tour – Udinese – Juventus. Since the beginning of the championship, the hosts have shown sharp-attacking and meaningful football, but recently they have given up and returned to last year’s positions. The “Old Lady”, however, having set herself the final task for the season only after the third round, strives to fulfill it. Juventus does not yet claim the Scudetto, but a place in the Champions League is a real prospect.
With a labor victory over Udinese, Juve took another step in this direction. The style in which three points were taken away from Udine is inherent in great teams. Two points, two goals. Another thing is that in the first half the hosts had to close the question of the winner of this meeting. Having opened the scoring already in the 6th minute, the Udinese players were obliged to lead by the break with an advantage of three or four goals. It didn’t work out… It’s because of such “failures” that the “zebras” probably rolled back to sixth place.
Juventus went into the second half as focused as possible. The defense played more reliably, the creative component in midfield came from somewhere. All this resulted in the first goal scored by Camoranesi. And in the 75th minute, Claudio Ranieri made a fatal substitution for Udinese. By the way, one can only sympathize with the head coach of the hosts – he simply had no one to let out on the field. At Juventus, Vincenzo Iaquinta enters the field … A minute later, the former Udinese striker sets the final score – 2: 1 in favor of the Old Lady.
Hero of the Tour: Alberto Paloschi
The competition in the Hero of the Tour category was fierce again this time. I had to choose between Di Michele, who made a double for Torino, Iaquinta who brought victory to Juventus, and another young talent of Milan, Alberto Paloschi.
But hardly anyone can argue with the fact that the 18-year-old AC Milan striker deserves special mention. In the conditions when the veteran Inzaghi and Ronaldo, who had just recovered from injury, remained in the cage of the Rossoneri, Carlo Ancelotti first included Paloski in the application “for the heap”, and in the 62nd minute he released him onto the field out of hopelessness.
You should have seen the face of the head coach of Milan when this little boy scored the winning goal for the Rossoneri already 20 seconds after his appearance. And it seemed that Ancelotti, who laughed with some kind of nervous laughter, had nothing to be surprised about. Especially after the 18-year-old Pato shot, scoring four goals in six matches. It looks like the bad luck that haunted Milan in the first half of the season turns into crazy luck in the second half.
– Pato and Balotelli, you say? – will say after the game, without restraining emotions, Paloski. – There is also me. Although, of course, to score a goal already in the 20th second … I could not even dream of this. I still can’t believe it.
Carlo Ancelotti did his best to put everything in its place.
“He will stay with us for now, due to Pato’s injury,” says Ancelotti. – Perhaps Paloski will still play with Livorno, but then we will send him to the youth team. Still, it would be fair.
But Paloska already has a double in the match for the main team – in the cup game with Catania. Perhaps Carletto will have to change his mind. After the match against Siena, the vice-president of Milan, Adriano Galliani, could not resist the words of praise: “With Paloschi and Pato – Pa-Pa – we become the youngest team in the championship.”
It is unlikely that Galliani will be happy to see that in four days the 18-year-old Italian hero of the Rossoneri will be sent back to primavera.
Matchday referee: Gianluca Rocchi
Juventus are out of luck again. After, as the Italian court proved, two years of fraud and work with the judges of the “Old Signore”, everything is rewarded. At first, they stubbornly did not put a penalty at the gates of the rivals of the Turin club, then they stopped removing the rude ones. It got to the point that during the match of the reporting round “Udinese” – “Juventus” Alessandro del Piero ran up to the referee and shouted to him: “We can’t do this anymore!”
It is worth saying that by that time Gianluca Rocchi had missed two penalties against Udinese.
