Regions with the most favorable coronavirus situation can plan a summer health campaign for children, Rospotrebnadzor head Anna Popova said at a meeting with Vladimir Putin.
At the same time, she pointed out that at the first stage, children will be able to rest only within the boundaries of their regions.
The head of Rospotrebnadzor reported that the department had prepared recommendations for organizing children’s recreation in camps. Given the pandemic, they will be different from the usual ones, but “will allow children to relax inside the camp without a mask regime,” Popova assured.

The camps will need to tighten up health and disinfection controls, as well as provide “some distancing for children,” she said. Popova’s department also prepared requirements for catering and disinfection regime. She added that summer health facilities have already begun to prepare according to the recommendations of Rospotrebnadzor.
Popova noted that the situation with the spread of the virus in the country is stabilizing and the proportion of children among the total number of infected does not exceed 7%.
The Ministry of Education recommended starting a summer health campaign in the regions from 1 July. The representative of the department, Yanina Golubeva, clarified that the subjects will make the final decision on the start of children’s camps on their own, taking into account the sanitary and epidemiological situation. So, the authorities of Moscow and the Moscow region in connection with the coronavirus suspended the organization of children’s recreation until August.
