Let Windows choose
Power Saving (Usually Intel HD Graphics)
High Performance (Usually, your graphics card(s)
Specific GPU (Choose which GPU to use)
For the most system performance, use the High-Performance option. If your GPU is bottlenecking your performance, you should set it to Let Windows Decide. Don’t forget to apply your changes.
Graphics Settings > Graphics Preference > High Performance
Delete the Windows Temporary Files
Your hard drive might be cluttered with unwanted files. These files will induce lag if not removed properly. You can delete your temporary files manually or use PC cleanup programs, such as CCleaner. These applications are usually the best choice as they will automatically keep your hard-drive clean for you. To manually delete your temporary files, enter %temp% in your taskbar search and hit enter. A new folder will open up. Delete the content of your temporary files folder.
Sometimes, this can take a few minutes if you haven’t done this before. Some files will most likely stay in your temp folder, as these are still in use by your programs. To completely delete these files, you should also empty your recycle bin.

The causes can vary from outdated drivers to a bug inside the mouse software or lag caused by Xbox Game Bar.
Follow along as we have put together a comprehensive list of solutions you can apply to fix the FPS drops when moving mouse error, right after we see in more detail what FPS means.
What does FPS mean?
Frames Per Second, also known as FPS, is the rate at which back-to-back images known as frames appear in a display and combine to create moving imagery. Note that they are fully customizable in Windows 11.
The video information that we watch on a regular basis isn’t truly moving at all. In reality, these are still photos that are played one after the other one after the other.
If a video is shot at 24 frames per second (the standard frame rate for video transmission on the internet), this indicates that 24 separate frames are played back in a second throughout the duration of it.

Diagnosing performance issues · wiki
osu! makes every effort to work well with the default settings and warn in advance of actions that may degrade the performance of the game.
Unfortunately, osu! it is quite difficult for all users, because the equipment is different for everyone. With the help of this article, you can try to figure out the cause of the problem yourself, as well as learn about specific concepts and procedures that will help technical support understand your situation.
If you have a non-standard skin, try changing it to the standard one. Some skins can load the system very heavily (and not only for you, but also for other players).
- If you have no FPS limit, select the optimal level. For why you should not bet
No (during the game)
, see the section below. If the game is running in a window, switch to full screen mode.
Try updating your hardware drivers (especially video cards). Alternatively, if you have updated them recently, roll back the changes.
- If your computer uses NVIDIA Optimus technology (or any other technology with two graphics cards, integrated and separate), try forcing the game on each graphics card in turn, and then compare the performance. Often games like osu! work better on the built-in video card. To force osu! on a specific video card, open Windows settings and look for
Advanced graphics options
, then add osu! and choose one of two values for it,Energy saving
orHigh performance
.
It is quite difficult to provide support when any problem is classified as “lag”, so first you need to define the terminology.
The audio track of the card is rewound or buggy. Basically, when the game lags, you can hear it in the sound. When diagnosing or contacting support, the following steps may help:
Check if this happens on all available audio devices. If you are using a USB headset, then try connecting it to the 3.5mm jack.
- Check if enabling option
Audio compatibility mode
in osu! settings helps.
During the game, everything on the screen freezes so that it interferes with the game. This can happen periodically, at random or constant intervals. When diagnosing or contacting support, the following steps may help:
Count how many times this happens approximately per game.
Check if FPS freezes/jumps are always observed.
Check how often this happens, are the time intervals between friezes equal?
Check if this problem persists immediately after restarting the PC.
Try closing all programs that use in-game overlays (Discord, Steam, NVIDIA Shadowplay, etc.).
Make sure you have game mode enabled. It allows Windows to allocate resources specifically for osu!.
Open the task manager, then go to the “Details” tab and enable sorting by CPU consumption. When the freeze occurs, pay attention to the programs that at that time heavily loaded the processor: it could be an antivirus running in the background, for example. To make it easier to keep an eye on Task Manager, move it to another monitor or run osu! in windowed mode.
There is a noticeable delay between keyboard/mouse/graphic tablet input and the screen action. When diagnosing or contacting support, the following steps may help:
Check if all input devices have this symptom, or just one.
If you are using third party drivers, try replacing them with the official ones.
Make sure osu! works in full screen mode, since in all other modes the delay is higher.
One or more input devices stop working during game play. Everything is displayed correctly on the screen, but it is impossible to play until the control returns to normal. When diagnosing or contacting support, the following steps may help:
- Press
Ctrl
+F11
to turn on the frame time graph. Check if there is a lot of white on the graph at the moment when the devices stop working: if so, then another program or driver is loading the processor too much and thereby adding input delay.
The game experiences low frame rates, which may cause objects on the screen to twitch. This can also lead to a feeling of high input lag. When diagnosing or contacting support, the following steps may help:
Check if this problem persists immediately after restarting the PC.
Try closing all programs that use in-game overlays (Discord, Steam, NVIDIA Shadowplay, etc.).
Make sure that you do not have forced vertical sync enabled in your video card settings (it should either be disabled or “at the discretion of the application”).
Try different FPS limit settings.
Make sure osu! works in full screen mode (not borderless window), it always improves performance.
Make sure you have game mode enabled. It allows Windows to allocate resources specifically for osu!.
Open Task Manager, then go to the Details tab and enable sorting by CPU consumption. When the freeze occurs, pay attention to the programs that at that time heavily loaded the processor: it could be an antivirus running in the background, for example. To make it easier to keep an eye on Task Manager, move it to another monitor or run osu! in windowed mode.
in osu! There are several options for limiting the frame rate, each with its own pros and cons. It is worth noting that osu! always limits FPS in the menu to reduce CPU usage.
This setting uses the vertical sync mechanism provided by the video driver. It guarantees no tearing in the image, but adds a delay of 1-2 frames due to frame buffering before they are drawn.
Not recommended for 60Hz displays. V-sync becomes more useful at refresh rates above 120Hz, but is no longer needed with GSync and FreeSync.
This setting reduces power consumption and tries to provide stable gameplay. It will limit the frame rate to twice the refresh rate of the monitor and stick to a constant frame rate.
Recommended for older PCs or to save power on laptops.
This setting will limit the frame rate to eight times the monitor’s refresh rate (maximum 960). It is recommended to use this FPS limit for those who do not want to heavily load the processor / video card, while at the same time maintaining a high level of performance with low input lag.
This option is preferable to no cap, as a high frame rate leads to an increase in garbage collection costs, which, in turn, can lead to freezes and FPS drops.
There is no frame rate limitation with this setting. osu! will render as many frames as your processor/video card allows.
This may seem like the best option (if your computer can handle it, yes), but the following should be considered:
High frame rates increase garbage collection overhead.
Under heavy load on the processor and video card, throttling may turn on, which will generally reduce performance.
In general, video cards are not designed to render 1000+ frames per second, so something unexpected can happen: for example, performance will be lower and latency higher than under normal conditions.
If the above does not scare you (as well as increased heat dissipation, and excessively high load on the equipment), then the absence of frame rate capping can provide the most stable rendering of frames.
Note to Cutting Edge users: CustomFrameLimit
is forced to 999. It is not limited in any way in the stable client.
Warning: this mode cannot be accessed using the hot key F7
. To make it work, you need to select an arbitrary frame limit in the settings, and then restart the game, otherwise the value of FrameSync
will be reset, and everything will need to be configured again.
This setting tries to keep the frame rate at the level you set. It cannot be activated through the game.
To choose the maximum number of frames yourself, edit the settings file:
- Open the osu! folder, or by clicking on the
Open osu! folder
in the game settings, or by finding it yourself. On Windows, osu! by default installed in the directoryC:\Users\
,\AppData\Local\osu! on MacOS /Applications/osu!.app/Contents/Resources/drive_c/osu!
. Close osu!.
- Open file
osu!.
in Notepad or another text editor..cfg - Find the line
FrameSync =
and enterCustom
there. - Find the line
CustomFrameLimit =
and enter the desired number there. Save the settings file. Before doing this, you must close osu! in case you missed step 2.
Start the game.
Ant-Man and the Wasp / Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018, film) – “A fascinating family film about the “magic suitcase laboratory” and about the cheerful partners of Ant-Man and the Wasp with a subtle philosophy of family relationships between fathers and children” Imagine that you didn’t have time to watch it at the box office, and then you read good reviews and realize that you really want to watch it on the big screen with super sound, but no way! I did not suffer from such a question, but simply trusted a friend who recommended this film to me and on July 8 I watched the premiere of the film
Ant-Man and the Wasp at the IMAX theater.
Should I watch this movie?
Yes, it’s worth it!
He captured me 100%, the time passed without noticeable.
Although I have watched all the Marvel movies, some of them have already fallen in love with (Deadpool and Avengers: Infinity War). As is customary with the author of these films, superheroes from different films are often found together in his other films. But the film “Ant-Man and the Wasp”, in my opinion, is quite an independent film, not strongly tied to the previous ones. So, even if you haven’t watched all the Marvel films before him, you will still enjoy watching this film and understand the storyline.
I won’t retell the whole plot, as you can always read the synopsis on the cinema website and watch the trailers. But if in 2 phrases about the plot of the film “Ant-Man and the Wasp”, then the events unfold around the laboratory, which was built to save the main character’s mother from the quantum world. Hope and her father, who have been involved in scientific research for many years, are already all set to go in search of the missing person in the quantum worlds, but a mysterious white ghost that can pass through walls appears and hunts for the laboratory. Other hunters also appear on it in the person of a greedy businessman who initially supplied materials for the construction of this very laboratory.
The main character Hope and Ant-Man (Scott) are in a desperate fight for the stolen quantum laboratory!
Of course, the film has a lot of spectacular special effects, costumes and superpowers of the main characters, fights, chases, etc. And, of course, scintillating humour!
.
For some reason, I personally laughed a lot at the moment when, enlarged in size, Scott was riding a truck like a scooter along the highway, pushing off with a huge knife or braking with his feet on the asphalt. It was fun! And then it grows even more in size, like a whale emerges from the river under replicas of various aquatic animals – the effect of surprise! And then this huge “colossus” (increased in size Scott), which frightened half the city, falls into the water, simply because it was corny very much wanted to sleep (it was funny) and his superhero also has to be saved from an “awkward” situation…
The film is full of various unexpected moves. It is very impressive that the main characters, like the laboratory itself and other objects, constantly change in size from millimeter to huge during the film. The car suddenly becomes miserable and leaves the pursuit, becoming invisible to the naked eye. Or a giant lollipop knocks an opponent out of the way… At the right moment, the quantum laboratory building conveniently turns into a small suitcase with a handle and a control panel, and giant ants act as assistants and guards and even play musical instruments!
I was also touched by moments of family relations between fathers and daughters.
Scott, taken into custody, is very friendly with his little daughter, inventing various exciting games for her, and the daughter “covers” him from annoying authorities when her father helps save other people’s lives.
The main character Hope also loves her father very much, although she didn’t get on well with him before, but now they, like two great scientists – colleagues, together complete the common task of building a quantum laboratory to save Hope’s mother.
