This movie novel with an epilogue and a prologue about the life of smugglers really looks like a realization of a book. In one southern town, a whole gang of currency traders is operating, led by a mysterious chief and his assistant, the Count. An exemplary family man and a modest domestic employee, Semyon Semenych Gorbunkov, by a lucky chance, goes on a foreign cruise on a ship, on which there is also an accomplice of this gang, whose task is to get diamonds in an eastern city and bring them along with plaster in hand. However, as a result of a misunderstanding, instead of a swindler, Semyon Semenych gets to the appointed place, and a plaster cast is applied to him. This is where the whole story begins.
The Diamond Hand is a great film by the famous and beloved director Leonid Gaidai. After watching this tape, you can discover a new facet of the great Russian soul, when delicious comedies with pepper and salt were created on the basis of a socialist society at that time. This is a common story of ordinary smugglers who, with the help of a figurehead, transfer diamonds, and Semyon Semenych is simply a victim of circumstances. The film begins with a mass of funny shots and ends with them, which cannot but delight the viewer.
An interesting fact: the moment in which Yuri Nikulin hits his head on a hook was not in the script. This happened by accident and, fortunately, had no serious consequences for the health of the actor, but it was decided to leave the scene during editing.

Soviet comedies go abroad. Charming Gennady Petrovich (Gesha), who pursues completely different goals on this trip, becomes his cabin neighbor. He belongs to a criminal gang planning to smuggle gold and diamonds through customs.
Foreign accomplices are waiting for Gesha at the appointed place to put a cast on his arm and hide the jewelry under the bandages. However, Senya is the first to catch their eye. Slipping and falling on the road, he says a simple password: “Damn it!”. The smugglers take Senya for their own and pull his bruised hand so hard that he falls unconscious. He comes to his senses before the imaginary healers notice, and sees how jewelry is hidden under his cast. Barely returning to his homeland, Senya gets in touch with the police. The captain asks for his assistance in exposing the criminals – namely, he entrusts Gorbunkov with the role of bait.
The bandits themselves do not suspect that Senya is aware of his involvement in the criminal history. Gesha uses their friendly relationship to get the jewels. He invites Senya to go fishing, hoping to strike in solitude, but instead he himself becomes a victim. The next attempt – to get Senya drunk in a restaurant – ends in a brawl, a public defeat and a complete failure. Gorbunkov’s wife, long tormented by suspicions, finds a gun and money from her drunken husband, which the police captain gave him. She thinks in horror that Senya has committed treason. Outraged by this accusation, Gorbunkov alludes to a secret special mission.
Soon a new trap awaits Senya – beautiful Anna Sergeevna enters the stage and invites him to a hotel room. On behalf of the police, he agrees, not noticing the surveillance of his neighbors. Anna Sergeevna treats the guest to wine with sleeping pills and performs an immodest dance. At this very moment, a crowd of acquaintances, led by Gorbunkov’s wife, rushes into the room. She is convinced that her husband meanly lied and cheated on her. After taking the children, she leaves home.
Senya hurries after his wife, but falls into the clutches of a gangster Lelik, who pretended to be a taxi driver. Together with Gennady and with the personal assistance of the leader of the gang, Lelik seizes the “diamond” plaster. However, the defeated Senya only laughs: the jewels have long been in the police. The criminals are caught, and the hero returns to the family with a combat injury – a cast on his leg.

Move text
In the text editor, select the text you want to move.
Touch and hold the selected text until it rises. Then drag it to another location in the app.
If you drag to the bottom or top edge of a long document, it will automatically start scrolling.
If you change your mind about moving the text, release it before you drag it, or drag it off the screen.
