Maximizing Storage: The 26-Liter Capacity Advantage
One of the standout features of the Nike SB RPM Skate Backpack is its impressive 26-liter capacity. This spacious interior allows skaters to carry all their essential gear without feeling weighed down. How does this translate to real-world use? The ample space accommodates not only skateboarding equipment but also everyday items, making it perfect for transitions from the skate park to school or work.
Organizing Your Gear
Inside the main compartment, you’ll find an internal mesh pocket that helps keep smaller items organized and easily accessible. The front utility pocket features an organizer, providing dedicated spaces for your phone, wallet, keys, and other essentials. This thoughtful organization system ensures that you can quickly locate what you need without rummaging through your entire bag.
Tech-Friendly Features: The 15-Inch Laptop Pocket
In today’s digital age, many skaters are also students or professionals who need to carry their laptops. The Nike SB RPM Skate Backpack addresses this need with a padded laptop pocket in the back that can accommodate devices up to 15 inches. This feature not only protects your valuable electronics but also allows for easy access when you need to switch from skating to studying or working.
Balance of Protection and Accessibility
The placement of the laptop pocket against the back panel offers additional protection from impacts and jostling. At the same time, the separate compartment ensures that your device remains easily accessible without having to dig through your other gear. This balance of protection and convenience makes the backpack an excellent choice for students and professionals who incorporate skateboarding into their daily routines.
Comfort Meets Functionality: Ergonomic Strap Design
Carrying a fully loaded backpack for extended periods can be taxing on your shoulders and back. Nike has addressed this concern with the SB RPM Skate Backpack’s ergonomic strap design. The curved, padded shoulder straps distribute weight evenly across your shoulders, reducing strain and enhancing comfort during long wear.
Adjustable Sternum Strap for Added Stability
To further improve carrying comfort, the backpack features an adjustable sternum strap. This additional support helps to stabilize the load and prevent the shoulder straps from slipping, especially when you’re on the move. The ability to fine-tune the fit ensures that the backpack stays securely in place, whether you’re skating, walking, or cycling.
Skater-Specific Features: Front Panel Skate Straps
A standout feature that sets the Nike SB RPM Skate Backpack apart from generic backpacks is the inclusion of skate straps on the front panel. These straps provide a secure and convenient way to carry your skateboard, freeing up your hands and making it easier to navigate public transportation or crowded areas.
Versatility Beyond Skateboarding
While designed primarily for carrying skateboards, these straps can also be used to secure other items such as jackets, yoga mats, or even small camping gear. This versatility extends the backpack’s usefulness beyond skateboarding, making it a great choice for various outdoor activities and everyday use.
Durability and Weather Resistance: Built to Last
Skateboarders often find themselves in diverse environments, from urban streets to skate parks. The Nike SB RPM Skate Backpack is constructed with durability in mind, featuring a water-resistant material that helps protect your belongings from light rain and splashes. The textured polyester bottom adds an extra layer of protection against wear and tear, ensuring that the backpack can withstand the rigors of daily use.
Nike Lifetime Warranty
Nike stands behind the quality of their products, and the SB RPM Skate Backpack is no exception. It comes with Nike’s lifetime warranty, providing peace of mind and assurance that your investment is protected. This warranty underscores the confidence Nike has in the durability and craftsmanship of the backpack.
Hydration on the Go: Side Pockets for Water Bottles
Staying hydrated is crucial, especially during intense skating sessions. The Nike SB RPM Skate Backpack features side pockets designed to fit water bottles and other accessories. This thoughtful addition ensures that you always have quick access to refreshments without having to open the main compartment.
Versatile Storage Options
Beyond water bottles, these side pockets can also accommodate other items such as snacks, sunscreen, or even small skate tools. The versatility of these pockets adds to the overall functionality of the backpack, allowing you to customize your storage based on your specific needs for each outing.
Style Meets Substance: The Aesthetic Appeal
While functionality is paramount, the Nike SB RPM Skate Backpack doesn’t compromise on style. Its sleek black design exudes a cool, understated aesthetic that appeals to skaters and non-skaters alike. The minimalist look ensures that the backpack pairs well with various outfits, making it suitable for a wide range of occasions beyond skateboarding.
Reflective Details for Safety
In addition to its stylish appearance, the backpack incorporates reflective details that enhance visibility in low-light conditions. This subtle yet important feature adds an extra layer of safety for skaters who find themselves out after dark, whether commuting or enjoying a late-night session at the skate park.
The Nike SB RPM Skate Backpack represents a thoughtful fusion of style, functionality, and durability. Its 26-liter capacity, combined with skateboard-specific features and comfort-enhancing design elements, makes it an excellent choice for skaters who demand more from their gear. Honest review of Nike SB Nyjah Free or why I won’t “buy” these sneakers!
Hello dear reader. We hope you came across this material when the question of choosing quality skateboarding shoes arose in your head. This is a complex and delicate process, since “there is no friend for the taste and color”, but in this material we will try to tell you about all the “chips” and advantages of the sneakers from Nike, the model of the Nyjah Huston proskater called Free.
Model
history
After Nyjah joined the Nike SB team, Free is his first pro shoe from the brand. The shoe was designed in collaboration with August Benzin (Nike SB designer).
Nike, as the manufacturer, makes the following claims about this shoe:
- The flexible construction of the shoe will withstand any load;
- inner sleeve wraps around the foot for a secure fit;
- Free outsole has been completely redesigned for skateboarding, allowing it to contract and expand with every move of the rider.
The
Look or the first “WOW” after opening the box
The box of this model is no different from the rest of the SB line – the same coral square piece of cardboard with white graphics from Nike. Opening the box, you see sneakers, original in form and design, whose color hurts your eyes a little (yes, we are talking about a completely white version).
Naturally, in this model there is not a drop of the history of skate shoes – these are purely sports shoes for the Olympics. A greater similarity of this model can be found with futsal sneakers – the same elongated toe, flat sole, slightly oversized silhouette … we see how you kick the ball into them. But otherwise, the sneakers out of the box really say that you spent money not in vain.
We put them on and don’t want to take them off
If you have completely guessed with the size, then Nike SB Nyjah Free sit on your leg as tightly as possible – 100% control!
Men’s skateboarding shoe has a fairly simple structure, but it achieves the effect of a “second” skin of your feet:
- the entire outer shell, the so-called capsule, is made of some kind of material that resembles suede mixed with rubber;
- has a specially stitched textile “sock” on the inside of the shoe to make it comfortable to wear even without socks.
The
No breathable inserts (although there are perforations on the sneaker, otherwise the summer heat would boil your foot in this rubber pan) and other favorite features of SB shoe manufacturers. A sort of iPhone among all the rest of the skate shoes. Because innovative.
Combat Setting
Ski shoes are designed with all the features of the operation in mind, so you should not ignore the trick that Nyjah slipped.
If you look at the toe area under the incomprehensible rubber material and pay attention to the lacing, you will see that special threads are made inside that help to lace the sneaker so that you do not tear your precious laces.
To make lacing for both sides inside is not at all comme il faut, so we hide your laces only from the side of the ollie peda under the capsule, and from the inside we lace through regular holes. It is convenient to do this not only because of the stylish image of the lacing, but also so that it does not go astray if it does not have a rigid fastening through the standard holes. Having relaced both sneakers into the “combat” mode, you can go to test Niji’s sneakers in action.
Riding comfort
Most people hate this shoe just because of the price. It’s stupid because they don’t know how comfortable these shoes are. 9The 0003
Nike SB by Nyjah slips on like socks and feels very light on the foot. This gives you maximum mobility as well as board control. The famous 360-degree board control system works like clockwork – no matter where you place the sneaker on the trick, it will be the same.
Of the minuses, we can note the first sensations. Shoes squeeze your foot so unusually that after the first 15 minutes of skiing you realize that the blood to your feet is already very hard. I want to take off my shoes. But after sitting for a few minutes, this breakdown passes and you feel good. It is worth noting that this is only true for new shoes that are bought exactly in size. Over time, these sensations completely disappear.
The grip on any skin is not as hard as suede and not as slippery as leather – the sweet spot. Such properties of the top coating are maintained throughout the life of the shoe. The Free unit in the outsole provides good cushioning but doesn’t provide much protection from edge landings. If Rodney Mullen (Rodney Malen) remembers you when performing a trick, then you will knock off your legs a little (although who has what weight). The unique system of construction of the sole allows you to keep the shoe to the deck at a good level for as long as possible. A slightly overestimated silhouette saves from poking the board into the Achilles, but it is completely useless when the foot is turned up.
Durability or why your Nijis last so long
Maximum durability is a key advantage of these shoes. Even with daily skiing, you will not tear these shoes in one season. Of course, riding in them after such heavy use next season will be problematic, but it is unlikely that there will be those who extinguish every day. And with a frequency of 1 time per week, these shoes will last for ages.
Unusual capsule material wears out for a very long time both in the place of the ollie pad and on the toe itself. Therefore, no hacks with Super Moment glue or Chinese snot – ride without thinking about holes.
Information after a year of use sneakers from Naiji
It cannot be said that these shoes were run in hard mode – about 2-3 skating rinks per week + skiing in the indoor park in winter. In the photo you can see the result for yourself:
- one hole on your flip leg at the ollie exit.;
- Nearly torn toe at kickflip.;
- outsole worn at the ball of the thumb.
Maybe someone will consider that this is a lot of damage – but according to the test, these are one of the longest playing sneakers on the market. Now they are not very comfortable on the old skin, as the sole slips a little, but this does not take away the very comfort of riding. They also grip flips well, the sole also absorbs shocks well – in general, the shoe is still rolling.
The biggest problem of the Nike sneaker from Niji of the first generation
The material from which the upper of the sneaker is made is not as elastic as the fabric, therefore, in the place where the toes are bent at the edges from the laces, the inside of the sneaker began to seriously tear. The super glue was not able to stop this action, and the stitching that the manufacturer made to avoid this effect is ineffective.
A double-edged sword
After walking in new sneakers from Naiji for about 1.5 months, an incident happened. In the most dangerous place for these sneakers, which is described above, they began to seriously tear. The photographs clearly show how far the breakthrough went.
Attempts by some collective farm methods to stop further movement along this fold did not give any result.
But to the delight of all fans of this shoe, Nike released the second version of this model – Nike Nyjah Free 2, which was freed from these problems and turned out really cool!
The 8 Best Nike Dunk SB Pairs Until 2010
We have brought together some interesting pairs from the first Nike SB releases for you.
Recently, we recalled the history of the Nike SB line, and now we decided to collect for you the most interesting (in our subjective opinion) sneakers from it. We decided to highlight 8 pairs, many of which are now museum exhibits. We show you our selection.
A brief history of the Nike SB line
Here’s how one of the most famous lines of skateboarding shoes came to be.

And if you just want new dunks and don’t want to look for them on resale, we’ll leave the link below for you.
Buy Nike Dunk
Nike SB Dunk Low “Tokyo” (2004)
Very beautiful minimalistic release dedicated to the capital of Japan. We like these dunks for a very cool combination of white canvas and gumsol. Later, we will see something similar in the collaboration between KAWS and Air Jordan.
Supreme x Nike SB Dunk “Cement” (2002)
An iconic collaboration pair that has become a museum piece and part of Supreme’s modern status as a brand at the forefront. We love this release, especially the Elephant Print throughout the shoe.
Nike SB Dunk “London” (2004)
This release is dedicated to the capital of England – the eternally gray and foggy London, which they decided to depict using shades of gray suede. We also really like the way the River Thames is shown here, silhouetted on the heel of the pair.
Futura x UNKLE x Dunk High Pro SB (2004)
Futura is one of the most famous street artists in the world, whose work has long adorned modern galleries, so all his early creative experiences now look especially valuable. In this pair, he showed his signature accents, characters and introduced them into the mythology of the UNKLE group, for which he managed to create an album cover. In general, one of the first cool triple collabs. Nike SB Dunk “Pigeon” (2005) the fact did not prevent sneakerheads who just appeared from getting hold of this rarest release and making it an important event in the history of modern New York.
Stussy x Nike SB Dunk “Cherry” (2005)
This Stussy collab could stand alone as one of the big sneaker hits of the early 21st century. It was the perfect stunt to promote the Nike SB line and it worked. As you may have guessed, the sneaker is dedicated to the cherry blossom and its beautiful pink petals.
Diamond Supply Co. x Nike SB Diamond Dunk (2005)
This pair reminded the sneaker world that there’s life in terms of sneakers on the West Coast, which Nike has long sidelined with high-profile collaborations. Paired with a Diamond Supply C. diamond and Tiffany color, this dunk silhouette is a true showcase for a colorful period in sneaker history. If you have ever seen these sneakers live, then you know for sure that this is a work of art.
Nike SB What The Dunk? (2007)
In this dunk, Nike designers decided to collect all the iconic colors of the first wave of collaborative and simply beautiful releases. This is such a very bright mix, in which we saw a demonstration of all the coolness of the Nike SB line.
