VRKO SGN for organizing conventions
Nar-Anon All-Russian Family Group Service Committee for organizing conventions
(SGS CSC for organizing conventions)
- [email protected]
- Committee meetings – the first Saturday of each month, 10:00 Moscow time.
History of the Committee:
2015-2017 Organizing Committee for the Organization of Conventions (OCG). Created temporarily for each event.
2018 By decision of the Second All-Russian Conference of the SGN, the All-Russian Committee for the Organization of Events (VRKO SGN for the Organization of Events) was created. It included two subcommittees – on the convention and on the conference.
2020 By decision of the Third All-Russian Conference of the SGN, the VRKO SGN was created to organize conventions (events).
2022 The working group of the Open Seminar was included in the VRKO SGN on organizing conventions (events), as well as Round tables on carrying the message began to be held jointly with the VRKO SGN on public information. Participation in the World New Year’s Party was added to the tasks of the committee. As a result, the experience of uniting all Nar-Anon events proved ineffective and it became necessary to separate the organization of in-person and online events into separate committees, thereby fulfilling the Fifth Concept of Nar-Anon ministry.
2023 By decision of the Fifth All-Russian Conference of the SGN, the committee returned to its former name VRKO SGN for organizing conventions – full-time all-Russian events of Nar-Anon.
The mission of the committee:
to bring a message of hope to the families and friends of addicts by organizing Nar-Anon nationwide conventions.
conventions are held in unity and in keeping with Nar-Anon’s Traditions and Concepts of Service. They take place in person or with the possibility of online connection for those who could not come in person. We are gathering to celebrate recovery, to receive inspiration, to exchange experiences, strength, and hope.
Organization of events requires human resources, time, group consciousness. The Committee chooses the place and time of the convention, draws up a plan for the event, chooses a theme, emblem, motto, flyers, informs the community about the event; prepares the program, speakers, provides technical and administrative support. With the permission of the speakers at the event, a recording of the speaker’s speeches is kept, which is stored in our archive and sent to the community upon request.
The Committee works closely with the regional service committee of the region where the event is held, as well as local governments. Interacts with relevant Nar-Anon committees and NA representatives if the convention is held in parallel with the NA convention. A coordinating center is needed for successful events. Such a center is VRKO SGN on the organization of conventions .
Our committee team is the same orchestra. Each employee, like an instrument in an orchestra, is individual and important. We inspire and complement each other, we feel like a single whole, we work in unison. Our joint work is a source of creativity and joy. Our results are the fruit of the efforts of all employees of the committee.
Member of Nar-Anon, Saratov
For me, serving on the convention committee is a healing tool. Working in a team not only teaches me humility, but also gives me the opportunity to reveal my abilities, which I never knew I had before! I can keep what I have only by giving it away through service to the beloved community.

The 99th World Boxing Association Convention will be held online from 1 to 4 July
On Wednesday, July 1, the 99th World Boxing Association (WBA) convention starts, which will last four days. Due to the coronavirus epidemic, for the first time in history, the convention will be held online.
According to the organizers, one of the main advantages of this year’s event will be that the convention will be open to everyone. Previously, only people directly related to boxing took part in such conventions, and fans did not have access to such meetings. According to WBA President Gilberto Jesus Mendoza, this will help everyone understand boxing better, as well as an opportunity to rethink themselves and adapt to the difficulties that the whole world is currently facing.
“World crises are not alien to boxing. They’ve happened before, and boxing has always been able to adapt. It allowed us to open up, think and step outside of our comfort zone,” added Mendoza.
The upcoming convention will serve as a kick-off for the centenary celebration of the association, which will take place in 2021 in Moscow.
The official agenda of the congress will be presented in slide form and will cover topics such as 99 years of WBA history, gender equality, veganism, amateur boxing, and medical and official seminars. Speakers will include Bob Arum, Timothy Bradley, Chris Algieri, Orlando Cruz, Miriam Gutierrez, Hanna Gabriels and other boxing greats.
The convention will begin at 1800 Moscow time with a General Assembly whose main purpose will be to review everything that has been done so far and set a new course for the next 100 years.
As part of the WBA online convention, there will also be a tournament, which will be held on July 3 in Moscow, where several titles of this organization will be played. The competition will be organized by the Patriot promotion company with the support of the Russian Boxing Federation.
In the main fight of the evening, Russian Magomed Madiev (14-0-1, KO 4), who occupies the second line of the WBA middleweight rating, will meet with compatriot Artur Osipov (16-2, KO 11). In the co-main event of the show, three-time Russian champion and member of the national team Albert Batyrgaziev will debut in the professional ring, who will face another Russian boxer Armen Ataev (5-1-1, KO 4) in the fight for the WBA Asia super featherweight title. In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus, the tournament will be held without spectators and will be shown on the Match TV channel.
The full schedule of the convention (Moscow time):
Wednesday, July 1
18:00 – WBA General Assembly.
Thursday 2 July
18:00 – Ratings and championships.
19:55 – Presentation by the President of the WBA “99 years of WBA history” (speaker – Gilberto Jesús Mendoza).
