Welcome to our KY MTAC page! We are super excited to announce that we are able to offer summer camps for military families in 2023! Military parents (service member or spouse) and their teenage children (ages 13-19) are invited to attend exciting adventure camps together. Everything, including equipment, lodging, food and transportation allowances, is included! These camps are not only fun, they offer an incredible opportunity for military parents and their teens to reconnect and make memories that will last a lifetime!
*There is a $50 registration fee for each participant that will only need to be paid if admitted to a camp (includes a t-shirt, or water bottle, etc.). Aside from this, the camp is completely free to all military family members.

This includes 1 adult (only) and any teens that meet the age requirement (13-19).
* Just completing the initial registration does not register the adult as a camper, please make sure you register each camper that you intend to come to camp and assign a camp to their cart! - KY MTACs are open to Active Duty, Guard, Reserve, Coast Guard, DoD Civilian, and Veteran/Prior service families only (if you do not meet this criteria please do not apply)!
- The initial registration is to apply for the camps. Once you are admitted, additional registration information is required after your admittance.

Military Adventure Camp at Camp Sousley | Camp Sousley
Basic Cadet Training
The Initial Entry Training for all new recruits whereby they are introduced to the basics of military training and life. Training is physically and mentally demanding, with heavy emphasis on personal accountability and teamwork. Each recruit is assigned to a platoon of 18-25 recruits lead by a Cadet Training Assistant and trained by a qualified Training Instructor. Recruits learn military drill and ceremonies, run the obstacle course, rappel, participate in water survival and learn basic marksmanship.
Recruits must complete BCT to earn the title Cadet and wear the beret. BCT is also required for permanent promotion to Cadet Private First Class (C/PFC).
Programs are developed and taught by ex-navy seals, army rangers, and other prior military and law enforcement experienced individuals.

Our 1-2 week fully immersive summer programs for the Military Adventure Camp program are as close to the real thing as it gets. These adventure camps are designed to give participants a condensed training as a foundation for careers in the defense or military fields. Courses give participants a full understanding of what working in a military position is truly like, (even the parts they don’t expect) allowing graduates of Camp Sousley courses to make more informed decisions for their careers.
Cadet Drone Operators School
In this intense one week course, cadets will learn everything they need to know in order to successfully and safely fly Unmanned Aerial Systems or “drones” and receive instruction on drone Tactics, Techniques, & Procedures (TTPs) employed by military units.
They will receive hands-on flight, maintenance, & troubleshooting training with various small drones. Cadets will also receive instruction on airspace regulations, preflight & mission planning, and simulator training prior to first flights. Cadets will learn how to gather intelligence from above and utilize drones to support their fellow squad members on the ground to complete mission objectives. Each cadet will recieve their own personal drone to use throughout along with access to higher-end drones at specified trainings.

Cadet Medic Course
The Cadet Medic Course is a rigorous, one week program, which fosters the desire for Cadets who are interested in pursuing a career as a Combat Medic or Corpsman in the military. Participants will be educated in basic human anatomy, first aid techniques, and certified in basic adult, child and infant cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and standard first aid by a nationally recognized organization.
Participants also learn about the Good Samaritan Laws and how it will apply to them.

Cadet Private Security/Military Police School
The private security industry is a 100 billion+ dollar industry that is growing in size every year. At Camp Sousley’s intensive one week course you’ll learn essential skills to serve clientele security needs. These skills include but are not limited to: transport logistics in hostile environments, mobile personnel security both domestically and abroad, fixed asset protection in hostile environments, law enforcement, forensics, cyber crime, narcotics and more. The program is modeled after trainings done by the US Military Police, Academi, Triple Canopy, DynCorp, and more.

Cadet Joint-Service Honor Guard Academy
For graduates of Basic Cadet Training or equalant training program in other nationaly recognized para-military organizations. CJS-HGA emphasizes honor guard training including U.
S. military honor guard standards, in standing manual, firing party, flag folding and all color team movements. CJSHGA is a one-week-long period of instruction. Cadets must be 14 years old, or have two years of Cadet service. Graduates of CJS-HGA are awarded the Honor Guard tab.
Note: This program of instruction is offered to and can be conducted alongside Sea, Civil Air Patrol, Young Marines and Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Cadets. Cadets in these organizations are encouraged to wear their uniforms and distinctive unit patches.

The Military Cadet Combatives Program (MCCP)
Our Military Combatives program is designed to be eclectic and thorough. The necessary elements to a well rounded martial education should contain skills for dealing with any conceivable scenario.
We have assembled a curriculum to educate all aspects of assault, from defensive ideology to attack strategy, grappling for submission or safe defensive management, solo vs.
multiple attackers with police techniques for groups and individuals. Our methods encourage philosophical thinking, mindfulness and character development.
Our goal is to grow confident actionable bodies and minds ready to act in the best interest of themselves and others, with courage, compassion and warrior spirit.
Our curriculum contains the total sum of many curriculum’s including:
- American Freestyle Wrestling
- Modern Jujitsu for Sport and Combat
- Sanda for Modern Combat
- San Shou for Sport Kick Boxing
- Wing Chun Kung Fu
- Tai Chi Combat Strategies

CADET AIRBORNE JUMP SCHOOL
The Cadet Airborne Jump School is a week long course and is limited to Cadets 18 years and older.
The first few days will include a ride in a private plane or helicopter to get acclimated to being 10,000 feet in the air.
After initial training at our base in Flemingsburg, Cadets will be deployed to our jump facility in Middletown, Ohio. The Cadet will go through a brief ground school where they will be familiarized with the basics of skydiving. They will then enter an aircraft and perform two to three tandem dives. Exiting the aircraft from 10000’ (feet) above the ground, they will free fall for approximately 50 seconds and then deploy their main parachute.
CAJS
CADET SNIPER SCHOOL
Our Cadet Sniper School is a one week training event designed to develop modern, shooting skills with general purpose rifles, such as the AR-15.
CSS is designed for shooters of all skill levels and ages. Attendees will learn safe firearm handling skills as well as how to be proficient with a weapon.
Participants will be deployed to a military instillation and learn from basic to advanced techniques. This course will benefit cadets without shooting experience, as well as veteran marksman. A strong emphasis is placed on sniper operational tactics, marksmanship skills, urban sniping, fieldcraft/stalking skills, data book entries, and observation/reporting techniques. A simulated live-fire stalking exercise is conducted placing snipers in an operational situation.

Is this a program for at-risk kids?
Absolutely not! Simply put, our Cadets must be crime-free, drug-free and have the ability to do well in school. We do not accept court-ordered students and are NOT a substitute for the juvenile justice system. In fact, we are just the opposite. All Cadets need to be willing participants.
No one is held here against their will. Though we do encourage Cadets to remain and complete their programs, parents do have the option to disenroll their children early at their expense. Credit for future MACs may be given on a case-by-case basis.
How safe is the campus?
Camp Sousley is staffed by adults 24 hours a day, and is also well monitored with security cameras when students are on campus. Camp Sousley Camp has strict code of conduct policies with regards to hazing, touching and student violence. By any standard, Military Adventure Camp can be considered a very safe campus.
When will I hear from my Cadet?
Cadets are afforded the opportunity to make phone calls during certain points in their training, but not daily. Cell phones will not be allowed during training – they are confiscated and stored in a safe until the Cadet gets ready to depart camp. They will also not have access to computers to post on Facebook, Twitter, etc.
However, if you have a personal emergency or need to get in touch with your Cadet, call our front office number at 859-608-3155. We encourage letter writing, as they tend to be a real and tangible comfort for the Cadets.
Can I visit my Cadet at Camp?
Parents are not encouraged to visit the camp while classes are in session. The night before graduations are designated “Parents Night”. This will be an opportunity to see the Cadets in action, and to spend about three hours in the evening with the Cadets here at Military Adventure Camp. All parents of Cadets who are on station are invited to come, even if their Cadet isn’t graduating the next day.
Will my Cadet be able to take their medications during camp?
Yes. We have staff members who make sure our Cadets take their medication as required. Rather, we place their prescribed medications in a locked cabinet. Cadets needing to take their meds report to the medical staff at their prescribed time, and are observed taking their own medications, then sign a log book to ensure accountability.
Parents are welcome to look over the log book at their request if they are concerned about frequency and time.

Seungnyang is a young girl born in the state of Korea, who witnessed the death of her own mother at the hands of General Dankis. Seungyang chose the pseudonym Jackal and began to hide the fact that she was a woman. Her reputation interested the deposed prince of Goryeo, Wang-Yu. Gradually, the prince develops feelings for Seungnyang, not knowing that she is a woman.
Seungyang also starts to fall in love with him. Soon, Wang-Yu becomes the king of Goryeo, and Seungnyang meets Ta-hwan, the exiled prince of Yuan. Seungnyang flees with Ta-hwan from his pursuers. The girl then manages to find her long-lost father. Ta-hwan lied under pressure from El Temür, and as a result, Seungnyang’s father was imprisoned and tortured.
Ta-hwan returns to Yuan as the new emperor. Dankis and Wang-yu find out that Seungnyang is a girl.
As a result, she is brought to the Yuan. Where they want to make her either a servant at court, or a concubine of Dankis. Seungyang vows to take revenge on Ta-hwan, who is now married to the jealous and unbalanced daughter of El Temur, Tanasiri. Seungyang becomes a servant in the palace. Emperor Hwang becomes obsessed with Seungnyang, who is now simply called Niang.
Nyang makes friends with other people from Goryeo who live in the palace. These are Dok-man, Hong-dan and Lady Pak. Also, Nyang is constantly in danger due to the lustful Dankis, who wants to take possession of her. Meanwhile, Wang Yu is at war with the Turks, led by Yon Feisu. He wins this war and returns to Yuan to rescue Nyang. He soon becomes close to El Temur in order to gain his trust. Nyang ends up in prison, where she is tortured. But Wang-Yu gets the right to take Nyang out of the palace.
Niang becomes engaged to Wang-Yu. And then she gets pregnant from him. Nyang tries to secretly leave the palace with Lady Pak, but Yom Ben Su and the others kill Pak and the other maids.
Out of envy of her pregnancy, Pak gave this order to Tanasiri. Lady Pak was pregnant by Emperor Ta-hwan. Nyang gives birth to a son, Star, but soon loses him when they are both thrown off a cliff. Luckily, Jojo saves her. Niang believes the child is dead.
Meanwhile, Wang-Yu and Ta-hwan are saddened by Nyang’s death. Ta-hwan stops talking and Wang-Yu marries to strengthen his ties with El Temur and Yuan. Nyang and Jojo are sold to the Eagle House, where they are put up for auction. Nyang is noticed by Tal Tal and Bayan. They buy her. After consultation with Bayan and Tal Tal, Niang is chosen as a concubine to represent their province. She surprises everyone in the palace, including Ta-hwan, who begins to show favor to Nyang.
Empress Tanashiri is angry with jealousy again and tries to get rid of Nyang. Thanasiri has a son, Maha, who is actually the son of Nyang and Wang-Yu. He was found by a monk in the river. After the assassination of El Temur, her plans come to an end.
Tanashiri is hung in public. Dankis, who secretly lives with Yeom Byung-soo, is watching what is happening and thinks how he can take revenge on Nyang. Niang gives birth to a son to Emperor Ta-hwan. He is given the name Ayushiridara. Bayan becomes regent.
Unexpectedly, the empress and Bayan, who previously supported Niang, try to prevent her from becoming empress, since she is not of Yuan blood. Bayan brings his niece Bayan Khuda, who appears kind and compassionate, but soon turns out to be evil and cruel. Empress Dowager Basiri is raising Mahu, son of Tanasiri. She makes the boy believe that Nyang killed his family. So she cultivates in him hatred for Nyang and Koryo. Ayushiridara is the favorite son of the emperor. Mahu Ta-hwan rejects, as it is believed that he is the son of Tanasiri.
After a while, Yem Byung-soo kills Mahu by order of the Empress. And Nyang finally learns the truth that Maha was her son. Wang-Yu learns the same news. He cannot come to terms with the loss of his son.
Ta-hwan goes crazy over a fake love letter between Nyang and Wang-Yu. Nyang and Tal Tal decide to kill Bayan, blinded by her own power. Bayan Khudu is exiled, and Tal Tal becomes the new regent.
Ta-hwan soon learns from Dankis that Maha was the child of Nyang and Wang-Yu. He was killed on the orders of Dankis, who thus wanted to take revenge on Nyang. After learning the whole truth, Ta-hwan decides to kill everyone who knew about it, including Wang-Yu. He does this to protect Nyang. He kills Wang-Yu, who declares that he will always love Nyang and protect her no matter what.
Niang mourns for the murder of Wang Yu and becomes empress. She orders the killing of Bayan Khuda and all who are not loyal to the emperor. It is soon revealed that the emperor’s eunuch was the leader of the Eagle House. He poisoned Ta-hwan with a deadly poison, from which he would soon die. To protect Nyang and Ayushiridara, the emperor kills the eunuch and exposes the empress dowager.
Empress Dowager is poisoned by Nyang’s order.
Yeom Byung Sun is stoned to death by people from Goryeo. Nyang remains on the throne along with his son Ayushiridara, who is crown prince. During the Mongol invasion, Tal Tal is killed in battle and Ta-hwan dies in Nyang’s arms after she confesses that she has always loved him.
In the flashback scene, Niang is riding a horse with Ta-hwan. She is then scolded by Wang-Yu, who is unhappy with her careless behavior. Ta-hwan sides with Nyang and states that it was his order. Meanwhile, Nyang’s horse goes missing, leaving her to choose between Wan-Yu or Ta-hwan.
