Green Island COVID-19 Quick Reference

Green Island Ice Arena, managed by River City Youth Hockey — policies will be enforced for the safety of our players and to ensure the most successful season possible during the COVID-19 pandemic. All policies are subject to change should the severity of the COVID-19 pandemic change.
• All participants and guests entering the Green Island Ice Arena voluntarily enter the facility and assume the risks attributed to the COVID-19 virus present in the community.
• Face masks are recommended — especially for the non-vaccinated & children under the age of 12.
• Guests are asked to practice the CDC’s recommended social distancing guidelines, and maintain 6-feet between person-to-person.
• Practice good personal hygiene, wash & sanitize hands frequently. Hand sanitizer will be available by entrance(s).
• Stay home if you are sick or not feeling well. Get tested for COVID-19 if in doubt.
• Spectators are allowed for games and practices. Entry into the facility is limited to 10-minutes prior to the start of scheduled practice(s) or game(s). Patrons are asked to leave the facility shortly after their event. Enter the building through the main doors at the South end of the building.
Exit, through the hallway doors. Sled Hockey only will enter/exit through the North door.
• Locker rooms will be used & assigned for practices and games. Benches and chairs in the hallways and open areas will be available for changing as well.
• Regular facility cleaning will be scheduled.
• User-groups (Youth Hockey, Adult Hockey, Curling, Sled Hockey & Figure Skating) may create and enforce their own specific COVID-19 policies for their events. User groups are to follow their own established COVID-19 mitigation plans for positive COIVD-19 cases.
• RCYH — Notify a positive COVID-19 case to the appropriate affected team’s Parent Rep. The Parent Reps will report positive COVID-19 case to RCYH leadership, and the COVID-19 mitigation plan will be followed.

HELSINKI, November 14. /TASS/. Russian hockey players with a score of 2:4 lost to the Swedes in the match of the second round of the Karjala Cup, which is the starting stage of the Eurotour. Despite the defeat, the young striker of the Russian national team Matvey Michkov can be called the hero of the meeting – the striker became the youngest goal scorer in the history of the national team, and besides, he scored the puck in spectacular style.

Before the second match of the tournament, which takes place in Helsinki, several changes took place in the Russian team. Acting head coach Oleg Bratash was forced to leave the team for personal reasons, he was replaced in this position by Sergey Zubov.
Adjustments were also made to the composition of the Russian team for the match with the Swedes. So, Yaroslav Askarov appeared at the gate, who, obviously, is being played for the World Youth Championship.

For an unrealized moment, a more experienced opponent punished the Russians at the very end of the first period – Anton Bengtsson opened the scoring.

But at the beginning of the second 20-minute period it was Michkov’s time: the SKA forward drove through the Lindval gate, picked up the puck and put it into the “nine” over the goalkeeper’s shoulder. A goal in this performance is called the name of the Finnish striker Mikael Granlund, who thus hit the gates of the Russian team in the semi-finals of the 2011 World Cup. Michkov is not the first Russian to score lacrosse at the highest level. Forward “Carolina” Andrey Svechnikov at the end of October 2019scored the first such goal in the history of the National Hockey League in a match with Calgary, and a couple of months later he repeated this trick in a game with Winnipeg.

Michkov became the youngest scorer for the national team in the history of national hockey points. On the day of the game with the Swedes, he turned 16 years 11 months and 4 days old, Ovechkin scored his debut goal in the national team at the age of 17 years and 11 months.
The goalkeeper of the Swedish national team said that he was not disappointed with such a missed goal. “I saw the puck to my left, it all happened pretty quickly, and I will remember it for a long time. This guy has great skill, he can be a great player in the future. But the goal is unforgettable,” Lindval said.
Almost immediately after this historic puck, the opponent took the lead again thanks to the efforts of Karl Klingberg, but the Russians immediately bounced back – Galimov equalized the score. The Swedes still managed to put the squeeze on – the winning goal was scored by Anton Lander, famous for his performances in the Continental Hockey League, who admitted after the match that it was not his style to score lacrosse goals.
“It’s a very beautiful goal, I congratulated him on the ice for it. Unfortunately, it was scored against us, but the player himself deserves to have a good future. As for whether I tried to score like that, I didn’t try to do it, because it’s not my style of play,” said the Swede.
The final score in the match already in the third period was set by Klingberg, who scored a double. The Russian national team, which lost two out of two matches and did not score a single point in the Karjala Cup, lost its chances of winning the first stage of the Eurotour.

After the match, Zubov noted that the complaints against his players mainly concerned the realization of scoring chances, and two goals were thrown into Askarov’s goal after a more experienced opponent won martial arts on the spot, skillfully putting down a club. “We paid attention to this until one of the goals, but our defender did not have enough strength. The fourth goal turned out to be more offensive when we played incorrectly on the shift,” Zubov said.

A simple but very effective deck – passing between the legs. The leg pass in NHL 23 is best viewed as a defensive puck control move, while you can use it to show off your offensive awareness at any time.
You need to use L1 or LB to activate the deck controls, press R3 to place the puck between the skater’s legs, then press X or A to pass using analog to direct the pass to complete the pass between the legs.

Use free skating practice as it will only be the skater of your choice against the goaltender if you want to practice solo decks without feeling any pressure.
