<p dir=”ltr”>Some of the most exciting Iroquois varsity baseball was played during the last week of April. The games went from low scoring affairs to football scores with the Chiefs in every contest. Overall, Iroquois beat Sweet Home and lost a pair of one-run games to Williamsville South and Niagara Wheatfield to finish the week at 1-2. With the Billies game a conference contest, the Chiefs dropped to 3-2 in league play and dropped to 5-5 overall.
<p dir=”ltr”><span>The most exciting game was against Sweet Home on April 28. The teams combined for 26 hits and 25 runs in a 14-11 Iroquois home win. After trailing 3-0, the Chiefs got five runs in the bottom of the first to take the lead. Iroquois would add another run in the second inning for a 6-3 lead. Both teams would score four in the fourth for a 10-7 Chiefs lead, but the Panthers got another four in the sixth to take its second lead at 11-10. Iroquois got those four back in their last ups via a pair of doubles for the 14-11 final.

Connor Day had also scored on the play from first, but because Ellmann’s drive went under the fence it became a ground rule double and Day was sent back to third. Dave Shriver brought Day and Ellmann in with a double of his own for the final runs of the game. Calvin Gawlik had a double play in the seventh to end the Panther rally.</span>
<p dir=”ltr”><span>Day and Owen Creighton added bases loaded doubles, with the pair having four and three RBI, respectively. Owen Greene led the team in hits with three. Andy Holcolmb, Ellmann and Creighton all had a pair of hits with single hits from Partsch, Day, Gawlik, Shriver and Joe Current. Holcolmb recorded the win from the mound.</span>
<p dir=”ltr”><span>The Chiefs lost to Niagara Wheatfield 8-7, April 29 after a bad start saw Iroquois trail 6-0 after the first inning.
A combination of seven runs in the second and third innings gave the Chiefs a 7-6 lead with both the tying and go-ahead runs coming off Niagara Wheatfield errors. The Falcons tied the game in the sixth and got a walk-off run in the seventh for the win.</span>

<p dir=”ltr”><span>Overall, the Chiefs were out-hit 16-10 against Niagara Wheatfield with Iroquois getting a pair of hits from Creighton, Day, Current and Greene. The best performance by an Iroquois player came from Partsch, who after replacing the starting pitcher threw almost five scoreless innings from the bump.</span>
<p dir=”ltr”><span>In the conference matchup against Williamsville South, Iroquois lost 2-1 but out-hit the Billies 9-6. Greene went the distance from the mound and deserved a better outcome, but the Chiefs left too many baserunners stranded.</span>
<p dir=”ltr”><span>Leading the way offensively were Shriver, Gawlik and Holcolmb with two hits each.

The experience of using multi-purpose helicopters of the UH-1 series showed that the machine has no noticeable flaws and turned out to be very successful.
The success of the Iroquois, of course, did not go unnoticed by the US allies. When the Americans released the Model D, the German government agreed to purchase a license for the production of the latest Iroquois at the facilities of German enterprises – primarily Dornier. Starting February 1967 years and until 1981, German aircraft manufacturers assembled 352 UH-1D
modifications
What is the difference between the “Iroquois” version “D” and the base model? First of all, dimensions. The UH-1B left a fair amount of space for the payload, so in the UH-1D modification, the fuselage was lengthened and made wider, the overall length of the helicopter increased by more than 1 meter. A new main rotor with a large blade span was installed, as well as rotary stabilizers, as on the UH-1C version. The German manufacturer abandoned the pilot seat armor that appeared on the Iroquois during the Vietnam War, so the UH-1D has no armor. For the UH-1D in War Thunder, we settled on several sets of weapons that were used for the UH-1 series.
In the game, the UH-1D is located at rank V in the line of German helicopters. Pilots of the German Iroquois will be armed with six-barreled 7.62-caliber miniguns in two containers on the sides of the fuselage, Hydra-70 unguided rockets, and 6 AGM-22 ATGMs, which will allow them to penetrate most ground targets at their rank. Just like the American UH-1B and UH-1C, the German “Iroquois” fits in quite organically in rank V battles, and in the same way has the potential to compete with older vehicles. Due to the fact that the helicopter has no armor and only one engine, the pilot will have to learn how to avoid enemy fire of any caliber, and as a first modification it would be wise to study anti-fragmentation vests for pilots. Before studying ATGMs, we recommend not getting involved in massive skirmishes with ground vehicles, but focusing on destroying “snipers” and light armored vehicles.
But after installing anti-tank missiles, you can afford a lot – 6 missiles make it possible to calmly pick up several opponents for each sortie. Keep your distance, carefully guide the missiles to the target and do not get caught in the anti-aircraft guns – and you will not be equal!
