boxing, football and longboarding in Nike Box MSK – The Vyshka
If your university has an old small gym, and you want to take care of yourself in the fire of deadlines, we tell you how to play sports for free and in the center of Moscow in Nike Box MSK. You can go to training here, even if you only have a race until the end of the session from sports achievements.
Until July 7, Nike Box MSK hosts the Play Like a Goddess sports program. Here you can attend training in stereotypically non-standard sports for girls, customize a football jersey, as well as get to thematic lectures, workshops and parties. To take part, you need to register. The Vyshka went to practice and spoke with three students about their experience at the Nike Training Club and how it felt to train in boxing, football and longboard.
1st year master’s degree at MISiS
At school, I often skipped physical education. It seemed strange to me to do the exercises aimlessly, at the command, just for the sake of evaluation. I believe that sports should bring pleasure and benefit, so I played volleyball for myself and went to a fitness club. A year ago, I learned about Nike Training Club from a friend, and since then my daily routine has been something like this: I take a backpack with a uniform, I leave the house, I go to training, and then to the university. My home and university are on the same line as the Nike Box in Gorky Park, so I have the opportunity to train almost every day. I love exercising in the morning, it’s energizing. I really enjoy strength training, such as Strength ( training aimed at developing strength – approx. The Vyshk a) or Core ( workout aimed at strengthening the muscles of the core – approx. The Vyshka ), during them you feel that this is a challenge. In order to restore muscles after exercise, I go to the Mobility workout designed for this.
During boxing training it was unusual for me, even difficult in places. But if it is difficult, then we are on the right track! I went to training in anticipation of an unusual experience. In the process of hitting, I experienced something like an adrenaline rush and felt stronger than I was.
I think NTC is a great opportunity to play sports, improve yourself and overcome yourself. No need to buy a subscription, everything is free. There are very motivating and attentive coaches, they help us to do the exercises correctly. They even give you water and a towel for the shower, which you can go after classes – without this it is difficult to go further on business. It is also valuable that guys of different levels of training come to training. When you see how others do difficult exercises, it is very motivating, and you say to yourself: “It must be done!” . It seems to me that this is a great advantage of group classes.
The most beloved and inspiring athlete is my mother, who played handball all her youth and still continues to play sports. I am also inspired by Maria Sharapova and Elena Berezhnaya, from whom I would like to take an example of determination and determination to win.

Four years ago I learned about the NTC application and began to study at home using the video instructions collected in it, even hooked all my friends. Then, in the application, I came across information about offline training, I decided to go to the treadmill, and I was sucked in. I’ve been going to the gym 2-3 times a week for over a year now. It’s easy for me to combine training with study: for example, the training session ends at Kitay-Gorod at 16:30, and by 17:00 I have time for training at the Nike Flagship on Kuznetsky Most. I never ask myself if I should go today or not. I just know that even if I’m lazy right now, I’ll feel better after the workout.
It’s funny to compare my physical form now and a year ago when I came for the first time and died. Since then, I have become more aware of myself, my body. Coaches taught me to concentrate on my feelings and emotions and keep a balance. They often say that it helps not only in the classroom, but also in life.
I’ve had experience with paid fitness clubs, and NTC is not inferior, even ahead of them for several reasons. Firstly, the training is free, which is very cool for every student. Secondly, the proximity of Nike Box and Flagman on Kuznetsky to the center, which allows you not to spend a lot of time on the road. Thirdly, an amazing coaching staff. Coaches not only bring you into physical shape, but also mentally somehow help, at the end of classes they always give advice. They teach how to apply the rules of the sport in everyday life. For example, keep your back straight, keep your abs tight, don’t arch your back when lifting weights. And Nike constantly holds events, lectures and master classes, that’s how I went to training with my favorite figure skater Evgenia Medvedeva.
After training in football, I realized that it takes special endurance to run like this across the field in the heat for an hour and a half. I can’t say it was difficult. Although, when we did the reaction exercise, I realized that everything was bad. It was necessary to calculate in the mind the example dictated by the coach, and run to the cone, the number of which corresponds to the answer. Everyone was constantly confused and counted for a long time how much 3-2 + 1 would be, it was a lot of fun.
It’s very cool that together with NTC there is an opportunity to discover something new, especially football – a sport that I, honestly, would hardly try myself. In training, the Nike philosophy is often mentioned, we are told, if you have a body, then you are already a athlete. Regardless of physical form and gender, we can all do what we ourselves consider necessary. For me, my younger sister will always be an example, who plays football much cooler than guys, not only peers, even adult teams invite her to their place.
By the way, in my term paper I considered the perception of sports brand advertising through the prism of gender stereotypes. I think many of those who watched the Nike video. Dream Crazier, were filled with admiration for the athletes who overcame injustice on the way to their goals. It’s great that thanks to the activities of brands, society is beginning to reconsider its values.
My favorite athletes are Zhenya Medvedeva and Serena Williams. By their example, they prove that it is not so important what form you are in, your mood is much more important.

4th year of the Russian University of Economics Plekhanova, Nike Student Ambassador
I am studying sports management for a reason — sport has surrounded me since childhood. For ten years I did taekwondo, where I went because I was often bullied as a child. I wanted to be able to take care of myself. But I found something of my own in this sport, reached a professional level, even took first place in international competitions. After moving to Moscow, I finished training, I didn’t want to go to anyone except my coach. And I decided to go into sports management in order to later help my coach develop our regional federation.
At the university, I played sports for myself – volleyball and in the fitness room. I never quit sports, it’s hard for me without movement, I have to do something all the time, participate in races, survival schools. I learned about NTC this fall when I was invited to try it myself, and then, if I like it, tell other students about this opportunity. This format of training seemed ideal to me, because will no longer give excuses “no money” or “no time”. If there is a desire, you go and do it .
I try to walk 3-4 times a week, although I thought it would be difficult to combine training with studies and two jobs. Here the rule works – when you do not have free time, you manage to do much more in a day than if you had it. From a busy schedule, I feel like I’m living. During study and work, you sit loaded, and during training, you can throw out all this energy. And training is self-development, self-care and meeting cool people. In my opinion, it is important to constantly challenge yourself, and not only in sports. Get out of your comfort zone and get better every day.
The great thing about NTC is that they make it easy for everyone to find their way from yoga to running, they care about your comfort, from stylish rooms and equipment in excellent condition to showers with shampoo and towels. And all classes are free of charge. Of the training spectrum, I like Core the most, I also really liked the winter program with training in hockey and figure skating – it was developed by athletes from the Olympic team.
I would like to see more such special programs. It can be difficult to register for some trainings – it seems that all of Moscow wants to try, and the number of places is limited. You can set yourself an alarm, for example, at 12:59to be in time for check-in, which starts at 13:00. And it is also important to come to training on time, otherwise they will not let you in.
This was my first attempt at longboarding . Before that I used to snowboard and skateboard and thought it would be similar, but unlike them, you have to keep the weight on the front foot all the time, so it was not easy to readjust. Our trainer explained and showed everything as clearly as possible, so it seems that by the end of the training everyone was already confidently standing on the longboard.
