Sena Unveils Exciting New Features for Motorcycle Communicators
Sena, a leading manufacturer of motorcycle communication systems, has announced two groundbreaking technology updates that promise to enhance the riding experience for motorcyclists. These new features – GoPro Integration and Mesh Reach-Out – are set to revolutionize how riders capture their adventures and communicate with fellow riders on the road.
GoPro Integration: Hands-Free Control for Action Cameras
One of the most exciting updates is the integration of GoPro voice commands into Sena’s 50R and 50S communication units. This feature allows riders to control their GoPro cameras without taking their hands off the handlebars, significantly improving safety and convenience.
How Does GoPro Integration Work?
To use this feature, riders need to update their Sena device firmware and add the “GoPro Pairing” feature using the Sena Device Manager. Once set up, riders can use voice commands such as “GoPro, camera on” or “GoPro, start recording” to control their action cameras while riding.
Compatible GoPro Models
According to Sena, the following GoPro models are compatible with this new feature:
- GoPro Hero 8
- GoPro Hero 9
- GoPro Hero 10
- GoPro Hero 11
- GoPro Hero Max
This integration opens up new possibilities for riders who want to capture their journeys without the hassle of manually operating their cameras.
Mesh Reach-Out: Enhancing Group Communication
The second major update from Sena is the Mesh Reach-Out feature, designed to improve communication among groups of riders.
What is Mesh Reach-Out?
Mesh Reach-Out allows riders to send invitations to join their Mesh Intercom network while on the move. This feature eliminates the need to stop and manually connect with other riders, saving time and enhancing the group riding experience.
How Does Mesh Reach-Out Benefit Riders?
With Mesh Reach-Out, riders can:
- Seamlessly invite new riders to join their communication network
- Expand their group intercom without stopping
- Improve coordination and safety during group rides
- Enhance the social aspect of motorcycle touring
This feature is particularly useful for larger groups or when encountering other riders who wish to join the communication network mid-ride.

The hands-free control of GoPro cameras through voice commands allows riders to focus on the road while still documenting their journey. This feature not only enhances convenience but also contributes to overall rider safety by reducing distractions.
Enhanced Group Riding Experience
Mesh Reach-Out simplifies the process of connecting with other riders, making group rides more enjoyable and cohesive. The ability to invite new members to the communication network without stopping adds a new level of flexibility to group touring.

Some features require linking your Amazon account, and downloading the Alexa application or using a compatible Alexa device. Internet connection speeds and availability depend on your internet service provider; if your internet service provider does not provide you with the maximum supported speed, you will not experience that maximum speed. Maximum network speeds, if applicable, reflect combined supported speeds across wired and wireless clients. Maximum wireless signal rates are derived from IEEE 802. 11 standard. Specifications assume wired Ethernet connection; your experienced speed may vary when connected to an eero device that is configured as a wireless extender. Coverage estimates are based on normal use conditions. Actual range and performance can vary, and maximum supported speeds may not be available to all customers, due to factors such as local regulations (including power limits), network configuration, interference, connected devices, device usage, building materials, and obstructions. For eero 6+ and eero Pro 6E, specifications are based on use of a Wi-Fi 6 (or for eero Pro 6E in Canada, Wi-Fi 6E) or later generation client device that supports 160 MHz. For eero 6, eero 6 extender, and eero Pro 6, specifications are based on use of a Wi-Fi 6 or later client device. For eero, eero Beacon, and eero Pro, specifications are based on use of a Wi-Fi 5 or later client device. For more information about eero performance, visit support.eero.com.
