JustGloves sat down with Chris to discuss his brand, the best baseball gloves, where he sees baseball in five years, and everything in between. Let’s dive in.
What made you start Ball Glove King?
I had been collecting baseball gloves for about 5 or 6 years and I had always wanted to make videos on them. It reached a point where I had over forty high-end gloves and my wife simply encouraged me to start recording. Honestly, without her encouragement I doubt that I ever would have started any of this.
Where did your passion for gloves come from?
My freshman year of highschool I bought my first high quality ball glove. I simply fell in love with the process of breaking in a glove as well as understanding the different types of leather.
When did you start playing baseball and what position did you play?
My first time on a team would have been tee ball. I always loved pitching the most but I played shortstop up until my sophomore year of highschool.
I then transferred over to the corners. I found myself mainly playing first by my senior year.

A2K all day!
Rawlings Heart of the Hide or Pro Preferred?
I’m gonna game a Heart of the Hide in the end but Pro Preferreds are the most buttery smooth gloves in the game!

What is the most important glove feature in your opinion?
I’ll have to go with the size. I’d rather have a super weird web at short than a 13” glove.
You are creating a custom glove from scratch. What does your glove look like and what features are you putting on it?
Tan palm, tan laces, tan everything. Then spice it up with some purple stitching. I’m a sucker for tan gloves and I just love when people add a little color to make it pop.
What is the best glove you’ve ever put on your hand?
Easily the Rawlings PRO-1000BC (from the 90’s).
It was the Original Horween and I cannot explain how nice it was. I sold that glove and I still regret it!
Which MLB player do you think has the best glove in the game today?
That is such a hard question to answer! I’m gonna have to go with Francisco Lindor. The REV1X gives him endless possibilities for designs!
If you could have dinner with three players, past or present, who are you choosing and why?
- Rick Ankiel – Growing up he was one of my favorite players and he’s got one of the most interesting MLB careers out there.
- Tommy Edman – Pretty weird answer but the dude is my favorite player right now.
- Barry Bonds – Because he’s Barry Bonds!
Favorite activity outside of baseball?
Goofing off with the family!
Where do you see baseball in five years?
I see it continuing on its current path. Home run or strike out. We’ve seen less and less strategy in baseball like bunting for example. Maybe the better way to look at it is that launch angle and exit velo have become the new strategy.
What is your number one tip for someone looking to buy a new ball glove?
My best advice is to go to a local store and feel around. See what you like and don’t like. Using YouTube can help a ton because every glove is designed for specific positions. Whether you watch me or someone else go get a second opinion! Then go online and buy the glove because often you can find cheaper prices. Plus, the gloves in store aren’t in very good shape sometimes.

Charles III will wear the shirt and scarf of his grandfather George VI to the coronation

LONDON, May 2. /TASS/. King Charles III of Great Britain, during his coronation on May 6 in Westminster Abbey, will use some of the items of ceremonial wardrobe that were previously used at the anointing of the kingdom by his predecessors.
The announcement was made by Buckingham Palace on Monday evening, less than five days before the ceremony.

According to the monarch’s office, during the coronation he will put on the robes that were previously worn at this moment in his life by kings George IV in 1821, George V in 1911, George VI in 1937 and Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. And if such items of the coronation wardrobe as an upper tunic or an imperial paula traditionally passed from one monarch to another, then Charles III also decided to use a colobium, a royal table (a scarf embroidered with gold – worn over a tunic), a sword belt and a glove in which was anointed king by his grandfather, King George VI. It is emphasized that such an approach is dictated by considerations of “balanced and efficient use”. This is consistent with the beliefs of Charles III, known for his habit of wearing out suits that belonged to his father, Prince Philip.
What the monarch will wear
Colobius, a simple linen shirt in which the monarch is anointed and which symbolizes deliverance from worldly vanity and exposure before the Lord, was sewn by tailors from Ede and Ravenscroft, the oldest London tailor, founded in 1689.
George VI was crowned in Westminster Abbey on May 12, 1937.
Upper tunic – a long robe with wide sleeves made of golden silk, which is worn over a kolobium, was sewn in 1911 and was used during the last three coronations. She is tied with a sword belt, which in 1937 was made of gold fabric, decorated with gold embroidery and trimmed with dark red silk. Its gold buckle is decorated with the national emblems of England (rose), Scotland (thistle), Ireland (shamrock). A precious sacrificial sword will be hung on the belt during the coronation. The Archbishop of Canterbury, who conducts the entire ceremony, will give it to the monarch with the words that it should be used to protect good and punish evil. Especially for May 6, the belt was updated by the masters of the Royal School of Embroidery.
Already on top of this will be put on the imperial paula – a quadrangular cloak-mantle made of gold brocade, stitched with gold, silver and silk thread. This is the oldest attire of the entire ceremony.
It was first used 202 years ago by George IV and over the past two centuries three other monarchs (George V, George VI and Elizabeth II) have worn it during a ceremony in Westminster Abbey. It is also decorated with national symbols as well as imperial eagles.
About the coronation
The coronation of Charles III will take place in Westminster Abbey in London on May 6 in the presence of more than 2.2 thousand people from more than 200 countries. Among the guests are members of the royal family, about 100 heads of state, first ministers of Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, governors general of the Commonwealth countries, lord lieutenants of the king in large administrative units, representatives of various churches, the armed forces, the diplomatic corps, Nobel laureates, employees public, charitable organizations, emergency services.
Earlier in a telephone conversation with Charles III, US President Joe Biden said that First Lady Jill Biden would represent his country at the coronation.
Queen Margrethe II of Denmark will miss the ceremony due to surgery. Russian Ambassador to the UK Andrey Kelin told TASS earlier that he did not expect an invitation to the coronation in the current political environment.
