A BBC film with new videos on the Skripal case turned out to be a cranberry. News. Channel One
Happy ending with tears in my eyes. And disturbing music and staged shooting. It’s not a documentary, it’s a blockbuster. Although the BBC still made a mistake with the music. We need another, for example, from “Visiting a fairy tale.”
BBC journalists did a great job. In 60 minutes, they told the whole story of the poisoning of the Skripals. However, their picture of the world crumbles at the slightest contact with reality.
For the first time on the screens! Police officer Nick Bailey. The one who was also allegedly poisoned by the so-called “Novichok”. How it happened, however, remains a mystery. Nick Bailey assures that he entered Skripal’s house in gloves and a protective suit. He had a partner with him. He didn’t get hurt.
Question: Do you know how you got infected if you were wearing gloves?
Nick Bailey: No, I don’t know, maybe it leaked through the gloves, maybe I adjusted the mask when I was in the house. When I arrived at the police station, my eyes stung, I was on fire, I was sweating. I thought I was tired, that it was stress.
Even wearing a mask and hazmat suit, Bailey felt ill as soon as he returned to the station. And the Skripals, who touched the poisoned door handle with their bare hands, lost consciousness only after three hours. Although Bailey was taken to the hospital only the next day.
“Nick Bailey doesn’t understand how he got hit by the poison, but that’s also nonsense. Why? Because his entire path on this day and the previous day, I’m sure, was sorted out, well, by the second. And where and how he could get hit by a poisonous substance, the investigating authorities probably understand, ”explains chemical weapons expert Anton Utkin.
The doctors who treated the Skripals say that at first they thought that the victims had an overdose of drugs. But then why did people in the form of chemical protection immediately arrive at the scene? The Air Force does not hide the fact that the case was handled by the military from the nearby chemical laboratory of Porton Down.
But what the British are silent about: at the same time, a large-scale exercise called “Toxic Dagger” was taking place at the military base, where the laboratory is located. Information about this is published on the website of the Royal Navy.
“The three-week exercise took place at the company level and included threat-based scenarios involving chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear weapons, such as an operation on a suspected chemical weapons laboratory. ”
And these shots are presented as proof of the sabotage activities of Boshirov and Petrov. With their hands in their pockets, they walk around the city, take pictures, smile, that is, they behave like tourists. But this only confirms the words of Boshirov and Petrov themselves, who from the very beginning said that they had come to Salisbury to see the city. Even stranger is the following police statement.
“We tracked their movements and the hotel where they were staying. We secretly searched this hotel, and found traces of the Novichok, Dean Haydon reports.
How is it secret? That is, they did not even evacuate the residents? In the same film, the police scare the British: “Novichok” could kill thousands of people. When traces of poison were searched in Salisbury, the whole city literally stood on its ears. Why was everything secret here?
“After watching the film, one gets the strong impression that the British would like to replace the real investigation with the release of the film. None of the questions we asked have been answered. In addition, this all happened on the eve of Theresa May’s trip to Brussels on Brexit issues. This means that the British clearly want to divert attention from the problems that really exist in this country at the expense of the Skripal case, ”says Alexander Yakovenko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the UK.
Their focus is on Russia. Hackers from the Anonymous group have posted online evidence of the existence of a whole propaganda machine to inflate anti-Russian hysteria. The program has been running for three years. It’s called the Integrity Initiative. But there is no smell of honesty there. Here is what the hackers themselves write:
“The declared goal of the project is to counter Russian propaganda and Moscow’s hybrid war. Hiding behind benevolent intentions, Britain has actually created a large-scale information secret service in Europe, the USA and Canada.
Project participants include financier William Browder, Igor Sutyagin convicted of treason in Russia, and Vladimir Ashurkov, a representative of the non-systemic opposition. The list also includes British journalists. For example, three observers of the respectable The Times at once. Among them is Dominic Kennedy. Here is one of his articles: “Edinburgh has long been on the pencil of the Russian special services. The Kremlin news agency Sputnik, created by President Putin’s decree, has chosen this city, not London, for its headquarters in Britain.
The British Foreign Office allocates as much as two million pounds each year to the Integrity Initiative project. And they manage all this web of lies from here: according to the documents, the office of the Statecraft Institute public organization is located here. Their manual, in fact, is a business plan “How to defame Russia.” It details how much and to whom to give money for publications in newspapers, on Twitter or for speeches at conferences. The topics of the seminars speak for themselves: “The Russian Orthodox Church and Religion as a Weapon”, “Russian Actions in Ukraine as a Rehearsal for Events in Europe”.
Among the items of expenditure there is also the following: “Prepare and hold in Kyiv (Ukraine) a conference with the participation of representatives of the 77th brigade of the British Army, the Ukrainian Crisis Media Center, NATO. Budget: £4,000.”
What is the 77 brigade, Channel One told the day before. This is an army unit that wages an information war against Russia. The military themselves openly say that their weapons are fake news. There are enough examples of such fakes denigrating Russia. But experts call the “Skripal case” the most famous and longest anti-Russian PR campaign. The BBC film, which was just shown, only confirms this version.
How walking makes us a victim

Your walk can provoke an attack on you. Reassuringly, by changing it, you can reduce this probability, states regular contributor
BBC Future .
Our movements say a lot about us. Maybe even too much if an ill-wisher is watching us. For example, the way a person walks can make them more likely to be attacked on the street. But the gait can be changed so that the chances of becoming a victim of an attack are significantly reduced.
Crimes in our world are committed by a relatively small number of intruders, and for some reason some people become their victims over and over again, while others never seem to attract the attention of criminals.
In the 1980s, two New York psychologists Betty Grayson and Morris Stein set out to find out how criminals choose potential victims. To do this, they shot a series of short videos about passers-by on the streets of New York.
They showed these videos to 53 prisoners serving sentences in a US East Coast prison for violent crimes ranging from assault to murder. The researchers asked them to rate how easy it would be to attack each of the people in the video footage.
Prisoners’ opinions about potential victims were very different. Some passers-by were constantly named among the easy victims. Some of these answers were quite expected. For example, women tended to seem easier victims, as did the elderly.
But even among young men – those who, as expected, represent the least easy prey for the criminal, there were characters whom more than half of the prisoners included in the group of the easiest victims.
The researchers asked professional dancers to analyze these videos using so-called “laban movement analysis”. This technique is used by dancers, actors and choreographers to describe and analyze human movements in detail. They determined that the movements of the people identified as the easiest victims were slightly less coordinated than those of the rest.
Grayson and Stein singled out the gait and the general pattern of a person’s movements as a determining factor for an attacker deciding whether or not to attack. But their research had one clear flaw. The video contains a lot of side information that could influence the decision of a potential offender: clothing, mannerisms, the way a passerby turns his head…
Twenty years later, a team of researchers led by Professor Lucy Johnson, a psychologist at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, tested this conclusion more rigorously.

Her group used the technique of cyclography, a method of recording the coordinates of luminous dots located on different parts of the body. This method is used to study the kinematics of walking and other movements of the human musculoskeletal system.
This time, a man in black tights was filmed in the dark, using glowing markers attached to his body. During playback, in this case, only the movements of the joints are visible, apart from this nothing is visible. Not even the limbs themselves, connected by these joints, are visible.
Studies using glowing dots have shown that by observing the movement of the joints, it is possible to determine certain characteristics of a person – for example, his gender and even mood. If you think about it, there is nothing surprising in this, because we ourselves often recognize a person from afar by his movements and gait, without even seeing his face.
Using this technique, the researchers confirmed that some people are more likely to be targeted as victims of an attack than others – even if all the side information is removed. This means that the decision to attack can really be made by the perpetrator only on the basis of how the person moves.
But Lucy Johnson’s most impressive results came when she decided to find out if it was possible to change her gait and movements in such a way that she would be less prone to attack.
The first group of volunteers were taped before and after a short self defense course. With the help of cyclography, their gaits were also assessed by volunteers (not prisoners) for vulnerability to a potential aggressor. Unexpectedly, it turned out that the course of self-defense had no effect on the “vulnerability rating”.

Our movements give us away
In the second experiment, volunteers were specifically taught how to walk so as not to look vulnerable to attack. According to the researchers, the main factors that you need to pay attention to in this case are the coordination and energy of movements.
After such a training course, the “vulnerability rating” of the participants in the experiment changed significantly for the better. This result remained unchanged a month later, when they were retested.
There is a school of thought that the brain exists only to control movement. So it’s not surprising that our movements give us away. It’s no surprise that other people are able to judge us by how we move in different situations – whether we’re going to win a music competition or whether we’re bluffing at poker, for example.
Your mind registers a person’s movements before you see their expression, hear what they say, or smell them.
Movements are the first signals that betray a person’s thoughts and intentions. That is why in the process of evolution we have learned to recognize these signals so well.
The cyclography study is a great example of how scientists, trying to answer the questions they were asked, moved from studying statistics to studying reactions to pedestrians and further to the use of complex laboratory equipment.
The new knowledge accumulated with great difficulty was used by them for good: they showed us what steps – literally and figuratively – we should take in order to become less vulnerable to intruders.
