Who was Drew Simoneau and what were his achievements in college lacrosse. How did Simoneau’s performance compare to other players nationally. What records did Simoneau break during his career at Nazareth College.
Drew Simoneau’s Stellar 2014 Season Performance
In 2014, Drew Simoneau ’15 cemented his status as one of the top men’s lacrosse players in NCAA Division III. As Nazareth College’s face-off specialist, Simoneau dominated the statistics:
- Led Division III with 12.72 ground balls per game
- Won 277 out of 408 face-offs for a 67.9% win rate
- Scored 8 goals and added 2 assists
This exceptional performance earned Simoneau third-team All-American honors from the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association. It marked an improvement from his honorable mention selection in 2013, highlighting his continued growth as a player.
Record-Breaking Career at Nazareth College
Through just three seasons, Simoneau had already rewritten the Nazareth College men’s lacrosse record books:
- 577 career ground balls – new school record
- 753 face-offs won – new school record
These accomplishments underscore Simoneau’s consistency and dominance in crucial aspects of the game. His ability to gain possession for his team through face-off wins and ground ball recoveries made him an invaluable asset to the Golden Flyers.
How did Simoneau’s skills impact Nazareth’s overall performance?
Simoneau’s face-off prowess and ground ball dominance gave Nazareth a significant advantage in possession time. This allowed the Golden Flyers’ offense more opportunities to score while limiting their opponents’ chances. His contributions were a key factor in Nazareth’s success during his tenure.
Empire 8 Conference Honors and Teammates’ Success
Simoneau’s individual accolades extended to conference recognition as well. He was named Empire 8 Conference Player of the Year for the second time in 2014. This award reflects not only his statistical dominance but also the respect he earned from opposing coaches and players.
Simoneau wasn’t the only Nazareth player to receive conference honors in 2014. Seven of his teammates were also named to the Empire 8 Conference all-star team:
First Team All-Conference Selections
- Drew Simoneau ’15 – Face-off Specialist
- Collin Clark ’14 – Midfielder
- Troy Haefele ’16 – Attackman
Second Team All-Conference Selections
- Luke Wooters ’16 – Attackman
- Brian Wright ’14 – Midfielder
- Chris Aycock ’14 – Short-stick Specialist
- Jerry Chasteen ’15 – Defenseman
- Mark Pinski ’14 – Defenseman
Additionally, midfielder Chris Benza ’14 was named Nazareth’s Empire 8 Sportsman of the Year, highlighting the team’s commitment to fair play and sportsmanship.
Collin Clark: Nazareth’s Prolific Scoring Midfielder
While Simoneau dominated face-offs, his teammate Collin Clark ’14 made his mark as a scoring threat from the midfield. Clark’s 2014 season was particularly noteworthy:
- Led Nazareth midfielders with 39 points
- Scored 26 goals and provided 13 assists
- Became the 13th player in Nazareth history to reach 100 career goals
Clark’s repeat selection to the Empire 8 First Team All-Conference squad underscores his consistent excellence throughout his career at Nazareth.
How does a strong scoring midfielder impact team strategy?
A midfielder with Clark’s scoring ability forces defenses to account for multiple threats, creating more opportunities for attackmen. His versatility in both scoring and assisting made Nazareth’s offense more dynamic and difficult to defend against.
Troy Haefele: Rising Star in Nazareth’s Attack
Sophomore attackman Troy Haefele ’16 proved to be a key component of Nazareth’s offensive success in 2014:
- Finished second on the team in scoring with 57 points
- Netted 38 goals and dished out 19 assists
- Accumulated 86 career goals in just two seasons
Haefele’s repeat selection to the Empire 8 First Team All-Conference as a sophomore indicates his rapid development and the high expectations for his future contributions to the program.
What challenges do young players like Haefele face in maintaining consistency?
Young players often struggle with the increased attention from defenses as their reputation grows. Haefele’s ability to produce at a high level in his sophomore season suggests he has the skills and mentality to adapt to these challenges and continue improving.
The Impact of Face-Off Specialists in Lacrosse
Drew Simoneau’s dominance at the face-off X highlights the critical role this position plays in modern lacrosse. Face-off specialists can significantly influence the flow and outcome of games:
- Control possession and tempo of the game
- Provide additional scoring opportunities for their team
- Limit opponents’ chances to possess the ball and score
- Boost team morale with momentum-swinging wins
Simoneau’s exceptional ground ball skills further amplified his impact, as he consistently secured possession after winning face-offs.
How has the role of face-off specialists evolved in recent years?
Face-off specialists have become increasingly specialized, with many teams dedicating roster spots to players who focus almost exclusively on this skill. The rules and techniques of face-offs have also evolved, leading to a greater emphasis on hand speed, reaction time, and strategic adaptability.
Nazareth College’s Lacrosse Legacy
The success of players like Drew Simoneau, Collin Clark, and Troy Haefele continues Nazareth College’s strong tradition in men’s lacrosse. The program has consistently produced top talent and competed at a high level in Division III:
- 1992 NCAA Division III National Champions
- Multiple conference championships
- Numerous All-American selections over the years
- Produced professional players and coaches
The 2014 season, highlighted by Simoneau’s record-breaking performance and the team’s overall success, added another impressive chapter to this storied program.
What factors contribute to Nazareth’s consistent success in lacrosse?
Nazareth’s lacrosse program benefits from several key factors: strong recruiting in lacrosse-rich regions, experienced coaching staff, a tradition of excellence that attracts top talent, and a commitment to player development. The program’s ability to produce well-rounded players who excel in various aspects of the game, as exemplified by Simoneau, Clark, and Haefele, speaks to its comprehensive approach to the sport.
The Importance of Conference Recognition in College Lacrosse
The Empire 8 Conference honors received by Nazareth players in 2014 highlight the significance of conference-level recognition in college lacrosse:
- Validates player performance against direct competitors
- Provides motivation for continued improvement
- Enhances players’ prospects for national recognition and awards
- Helps with team recruiting efforts
- Builds program prestige within the conference
For players like Drew Simoneau, conference Player of the Year awards can serve as stepping stones to national accolades such as All-American honors.
How do conference awards impact a player’s career prospects?
Conference awards can significantly boost a player’s profile, increasing their chances of being scouted for professional leagues or considered for coaching positions after graduation. These honors also provide tangible evidence of a player’s skills and leadership, which can be valuable in non-lacrosse career pursuits.
The success of Nazareth’s lacrosse program in 2014, spearheaded by Drew Simoneau’s record-breaking performance and All-American selection, showcases the strength of Division III lacrosse. It also highlights the potential for players at this level to achieve national recognition and set new standards of excellence in their sport. As the lacrosse landscape continues to evolve, programs like Nazareth’s demonstrate the depth of talent and competitive spirit present across all levels of collegiate play.
Simoneau Named Third-Team All-American for Men’s Lacrosse
Drew Simoneau ’15, Nazareth’s record-breaking face-off specialist, was honored as a third-team men’s lacrosse All-American by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association in 2014.
Simoneau, of Manchester, N.H. and two-time Empire 8 Conference Player of the Year, was the Golden Flyers’ lone representative on the All-American team. He was an honorable mention selection in 2013.
Simoneau was masterful for the Golden Flyers as a face-off specialist in 2014 as he led all of Division III with 12.72 ground balls per game. He also ranked among the national leaders in face-off percentage, winning 277 of 408 draws for 67.9 percent. In addition, he scored eight goals and added two assists.
Through three seasons, Simoneau has already shattered Nazareth career records for ground balls (577) and face-offs won (753).
In addition to Simoneau, seven other players were named to the Empire 8 Conference all-star team. Midfielder Collin Clark ’14 and attackman Troy Haefele ’16 joined Simoneau on the first team.
Clark of Austin, Texas, was a repeat selection to the first team after finishing the 2014 season as the Golden Flyers’ top scoring midfielder with 39 points on 26 goals and 13 assists. He also became the 13th player in Nazareth lacrosse history to reach 100 career goals. Haefele, of Greene, Maine, also was a repeat selection to the first team after finishing second on the team in scoring with 57 points on 38 goals and 19 assists. He has 86 career goals after two seasons.
Nazareth also had five second-team representatives in attackman Luke Wooters ’16, midfielder Brian Wright ’14, short-stick specialist Chris Aycock ’14, defenseman Jerry Chasteen ’15, and defenseman Mark Pinski ’14. In addition, midfielder Chris Benza ’14 was Nazareth’s representative as E8 Sportsman of the Year.
Top 50 Best PLL Players Snubs and Surprises
Way back in August (this year, four months can seem like a decade), the Premier Lacrosse League wrapped up its 2020 Championship Series, with the Whipsnakes once again taking the crown home. Over the past week, however, we’ve finally seen the results of this year’s player-voted top 50. Released annually, the list represents the 50 best PLL players, as voted on by their peers and their peers alone.
Now, we made our own All-Pro team for the Championship Series, but just because we didn’t get a vote this time doesn’t mean we don’t want to talk about it. So, we brought in your west coast lax correspondent (and PLL Championship Series Tweetmaster General for the LAS account) Ryder Cochrane to break down the biggest snubs and surprises of this year’s 50 best PLL players.
Without further ado, here’s our reactions to the list:
50 Best PLL Players – Snubs & Surprises
Snub: Efficient midfielders
When we voted for the LAS All-PLL team, I spent one of my three midfield votes on Christian Mazzone. Considering that he not only finished top 10 in goals during the series but did so while shooting a fantastic 69% (nice), I would’ve assumed Mazzone was a lock for this list. I guess not. I’m not sure what I’m missing here, unless the PLL is just really against 2nd-bar syndrome, but I absolutely think that Mazzone was deserving of a spot in the top 50 best PLL players.
He’s not alone. Among other players I definitely think of as top 50 players out of the midfield, we also saw a lack of appearance for Jesse King (Chrome), Dhane Smith (Chaos), and Ryan Ambler (Archers). It would irk me less if we hadn’t seen a guy like Jake Froccaro in the top 50.
That’s not a dig at Froccaro as a player at all – he just didn’t have a very good 2020 series, scoring only 5 goals (2 2-pt) on 16% shooting. Compare that to Smith, who had the same number of points on 32% shooting, or King, who had the same points on 42% shooting. The math favors any of those four guys, so I’m a little surprised to see all four get snubbed here. Rough list for efficient players.
Surprise: The order in which people liked the champs
I didn’t mean to talk about the Whipsnakes twice in a row, but I guess that’s what happens when you finish with four of the top five players on the list. I’m not arguing that any of these dudes don’t deserve to be in the top five. Rather, I’d like to nitpick a little about the order in which they appeared.
Matt Rambo of the Whipsnakes charges toward goal. Photo: Premier Lacrosse League
First of all, all the love in the world to Zed Williams. This dude came into the PLL and instantly led the league in goals, won a ring, and took home MVP. His immediate chemistry with Rambo helped to replace all the lost talent stolen by the Waterdogs in the expansion draft and was a big factor in the Whips winning a second title. That said, I (and the majority of our LAS contributors) still think that the real MVP of the 2020 Championship Series was Joe Nardella. Without the Nard Dog, I don’t think that Zed is in position to score all those second-half goals in the title game. I’m not sure the Whipsnakes go undefeated without him.
Tom Schreiber is probably the best field player in the world right now, a LeBron-like midfielder that does everything well. I’m fine with him at No. 1. From there, I’d say that the rest should have been Nardella, Rambo, Ehrhardt, and Zed. Regardless of who is the best overall player, though, my vote for who had the best season in 2020 goes to Nardella, even though I loved watching Zed and think that his MVP win was a great moment for the league.
Snub: The other Whipsnakes
The Whipsnakes had the most guys on this list of anybody, so it’s not like they’re hurting here, but even still, they deserved more. This team was just stupid dominant throughout the series. There’s no reason we should be giving Atlas eight players and denying the other Whipsnake guys.
Specifically, I’m talking about Brad Smith and Jay Carlson. Both seem to be overlooked due to what their other attackmen (Zed Williams finished third and Matt Rambo second on this list) were doing, but Smith and Carlson were both crucial pieces of this Whipsnakes team. Returning from injury, Smith, the former Blue Devil, racked up the 12th-most points in the league, putting up 8/7 while snagging 10 GBs. He played attack and midfield and was equally useful at both. Meanwhile, Carlson finished ninth in the league in GBs despite playing attack. The only other non-FO short-stick in the top 10 was Zach Currier, who A) is a middie, and B) is Zach freakin’ Currier. Just for fun, Carlson also scored 12 goals.
The fact that neither guy gets a spot in the top 50 best PLL players just feels like an attempt to balance things out so the Whipsnakes didn’t put 15 guys on the list. The thing is, 15 guys probably deserved to be on this list for 2020. The Whips finished 2020 with the No. 1 offense and the No. 1 defense, went undefeated, and brought home a second-straight title. It’s entirely possible, and I think likely, that they simply had more talent than a lot of the other teams. Reflecting that a little heavier in this list isn’t unfair – it’s just accurate.
Surprise: The SSDM revolution
Alright, this is a surprise, but I’m actually leading with a snub: where the hell is Pat Harbeson? As a short-stick, the man was third in the league in caused turnovers by any player. He was top 15 in ground balls. He even had two points. How this guy wasn’t a top 50 best PLL player, I have no idea. He was an elite SSDM.
Harbeson (40) Photo: Ryan Conwell / LaxAllStars
Anyways, still a great year to be a d-middie. There were five guys in the top 50, a big step up in recognition for a vital position: six, if you count Bryan Costabile, like I tried to in our voting. It’s nice to see guys getting credit for what they did. Jack Near, Ty Warner, Will Haus, Jake Bernhardt (crazy this dude is basically a SSDM now. Man, the Whips are stacked), and Dominique Alexander are all well deserving of recognition here. We often overvalue guys who score goals, so it’s fun to see players showing love to those SSDMs who make their lives harder on the field.
Snub: Chaos
This is a weird case for evaluation. Chaos won exactly zero games in the group play stage and looked pretty damn inept doing it. Then, they went on a run to the finals. The results? They had the second-lowest number of players in the top 50, ahead of only the Waterdogs. Atlas had eight, and they were, to put it politely, bad.
Now, Chaos did get two players in the top 10 – well deserved for both Blaze Riorden and Josh Byrne. But Chaos lost multiple guys off of last year’s list. Connor Fields made the biggest drop, going from top 10 to straight off the list. That’s probably fair, considering he was benched down the stretch, but I still think Fields is a good player. Jarrod Neumann, one of the top poles in the PLL last year, was also off the list this time around, as was Sergio Salcido. With the exception of Neumann, who has a case, I don’t have any issues with those dudes dropping out, but I’m surprised we didn’t see at least Dhane Smith make this list. I think one could also make an argument for Austin Staats, who came on late in the series and showed what he can do.
Also, it’s not really worth getting into further than a sentence or two, but I’d like to once again state for the record that Dillon Ward is one of the 50 best lacrosse players in the world (at a bare minimum).
Surprise: Player opinion on award nominees
If you just read the nominees for the Gait Brothers Midfielder of the Year Award, you’d assume that the three-best midfielders in the league this year were Tom Schreiber, John Haus, and Sergio Perkovic. It would be weird, then, to go look at this list, and find that Perkovic was No. 30 overall, which makes him only the 10th-highest ranked midfielder (excluding face-off guys). That’s where I start to wonder what this list was aiming for. Is it the best 50 PLL players overall, or the best 50 PLL players of 2020? Something doesn’t quite line up there.
The same can be said for other awards. Reece Eddy was a finalist for the top LSM yet isn’t even in the top 50 (he could easily have his own snub category). Eddy was one of the three-best rookies in the league, along with Grant Ament and Bryan Costabile. Not seeing him get a spot here is shocking, especially so when you consider he was a finalist for best LSM but not one of the LSMs on this list. Other LSMs who weren’t nominated did make the list. That just screams to me that there’s a weird disconnect between player opinion and league opinion.

Snub: The Waterdogs’ FO guys
Trevor Baptiste, who finished 21st overall in the top 50, was fifth in the PLL in faceoff percentage this season. The two guys directly above him didn’t make the list. That seems a little suspiciously like voting based on brand power to me. Baptiste is a great player, but he didn’t have a great year., winning only 54% of his faceoffs. Meanwhile, Jake Withers won 58% of his draws, and Drew Simoneau won 55%.
The fact that they split the role (whereas Baptiste handled a far greater majority of his team’s attempts) probably hurts both guys for voting, but I think it’s a little weird to only have two FOs in the top half and for one to have finished fifth in winning percentage. To be honest, Connor Farrell was better than Baptiste was this year, and he was ranked all the way down at No. 47. Those Atlas guys must be really popular among players, is I guess the point I’m still trying to make.

The Stripe
In this week’s episode, the Waterdogs new faceoff duo Drew Simoneau and Jake Withers join Greg at The Stripe. After having a dominating career in the NLL, Jake is thrilled to be joining the PLL and be reunited with so many friends and former teammates. Greg describes Jake’s play as dynamic and athletic having accolades on top of accolades. Withers says that being from Canada and playing lacrosse in the summer and hockey in the winter has helped shape him into the player he is today and credits his talent at the strip to being a lacrosse player first and foremost as well as having a deep knowledge and understanding of the game. Withers describes his play as savvy and is looking forward to joining forces with Drew Simoneau in Utah and being the Waterdogs one-two punch at the faceoff.
Drew “Dr Drew” Simoneau is not only a force on the field but off it as well having a doctorate in physical therapy. While he describes the 2019 season as one of the worst of his career, he’s looking forward to getting back on the field in Utah and playing for redemption, particularly against his former team the Chrome. Simoneau is also eager to utilize his wings more this year in the Waterdogs stacked roster of Noah Richard, Kyle McClancy and Brodie Merrill. Known as one of the fastest guys around the ball, Simoneau is excited to play off of Withers in being a two-headed monster at the strip that in turn will hopefully lead this team to their first PLL Championship.
Greg Gurenlian, widely considered the greatest faceoff man of all time, has traded in his pads for a mic this summer. Leveraging his experience on the field, coaching expertise and media savvy, Gurenlian will bring a new era of coverage to the position that he’s helped pioneer. In The Stripe, Greg will chat with the top faceoff athletes in the sport, breakdown matchups, and analyze game performances.

Stony Brook’s LaValle Stadium to host three Premier Lacrosse League games in June
Mike Chanenchuk and Tommy Kelly are plenty familiar with lacrosse at LaValle Stadium. The two Long Island products are assistant coaches with Stony Brook’s men’s lacrosse team, working with Seawolves players to hone their craft.
But come this June, they’ll get to see the field as players rather than coaches.
Stony Brook will host three Premier Lacrosse League games on June 12 and 13, including a nationally televised game on NBC on the 13th, the league announced Tuesday.
Founded in September 2018 and debuting last July, the PLL is a professional league made up of seven lacrosse clubs — Archers LC, Atlas LC, Chaos LC, Chrome LC, Redwoods LC, Waterdogs LC and Whipsnakes LC. Unlike most pro sports leagues, the teams aren’t tied to specific home cities. Instead, the entire league tours 12 different cities across the country, with a 14-week schedule — 10 regular-season weekends, one all-star weekend, two playoff weekends and the championship weekend.
The matchups for the three games have yet to be announced, but Chanenchuk — an East Setauket native who was a Newsday All-Long Island first-team selection from St. Anthony’s in 2008 — already is excited.
“Coming back to Stony Brook to play with the PLL is an unreal experience for me,” Chanenchuk, Stony Brook’s offensive coordinator and a midfielder for the Whipsnakes, said via Stony Brook’s website. “Growing up in the area and now coaching at Stony Brook, it all comes together. Coming up as a youth player and now coaching in the college ranks and then to play here professionally is very exciting.”
Kelly, who joined Stony Brook as a volunteer assistant coach for this upcoming season, played high school lacrosse at Rocky Point and is a faceoff specialist for the Chaos.

The June 12 game will be televised by NBC Gold at 7 p.m. NBC will carry the 4 p.m. game on June 13, with NBCSN airing the 6:30 p.m. game that night.
“We are ecstatic to be coming back to New York and expanding our reach to the rabid lacrosse fan base on Long Island,” PLL co-founder and CEO Mike Rabil said in a statement. “Long Island has always been a hotbed for the sport, and nearly a third of our players were born and raised in the area. We want to make this weekend an unforgettable homecoming for them.
“The university has also been gracious enough to provide a standout venue that will give fans in the area an experience they won’t forget. We can’t wait to see if this is the next sellout venue for us. Long Island fans have a history of showing up for lacrosse.”
LaValle Stadium, which seats 13,200, is the third venue to be announced for the 2020 PLL season. Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., and Fifth Third Bank Stadium in Atlanta are the other two, with more to be announced in the next few months.
“The game of lacrosse is a vibrant and visible part of the Long Island landscape, and we are beyond excited to welcome the PLL to Stony Brook this summer,” Stony Brook director of athletics Shawn Heilbron said via the school’s website. “The PLL features some of the most talented lacrosse players in the world while delivering a high-energy, community-focused weekend of events.
“This is a huge opportunity for Stony Brook and for all of Long Island to celebrate a sport that is so important to our region. ”

The Rochester Rattlers are playing at yet another home this year and some new and familiar faces will help lead the team in the upcoming 2017 Major League Lacrosse season. Rochester will face the Florida Launch on the road Saturday, April 29, and will make their home debut Thursday, May 11th.

The Rochester Rattlers were among an unprecedented seven of the nine teams in the league in 2016 Major League Lacrosse to finish the regular season 8-6, muddying a playoff picture with even murkier pre-existing tiebreaker procedures.
Rochester was left out of the four-team playoff picture despite owning head-to-head tiebreakers over three of the four teams that qualified.
But that’s in the past.
This upcoming season, beginning on the road Saturday, April 29, against the Florida Launch, has a lot to offer the 2014 and 2015 league champion runners-up.
And although the league will face its continual struggle of competing with the National Lacrosse League (indoor) and NCAA seasons, the Rattlers are hoping a return to a downtown stadium — its third home in the past three seasons — as well as a revamped roster of veterans and new talent will carry them in the 2017 season.
Here are five things to look for this upcoming season:
1. Bitter taste
OK, the playoff debacle is not totally in the past for all. Head coach Tim Soudan hasn’t forgotten how the league ultimately snubbed Rochester out of a shot at the championship.
“I hope there is a huge bitter taste in everyone’s mouth,” he said. “What it really comes down to is we’ll gain energy on any negative that could possible put a chip on our shoulder. We’re blue collar, we rally around each other and any time we feel we’ve been slighted it just makes us stronger as a team.
Watch out, MLL! You poked a rattlesnake.
2. New year, new stadium (again)
Sahlen’s Stadium, The College at Brockport, Aquinas Institute and now Capelli Sport Stadium (the new sponsor for the Rhinos’ home). The Rattlers season-to-season change in location for home games has caused the team’s attendance to fluctuate. Capelli Sports Stadium has its benefits.
“It’s a family atmosphere and (they) have the ability to sell beer,” Soudan said. “We’re looking forward to it … coming back to the city (with the move to Aquinas) boosted our attendance and this will boost it even more. It could be a good thing for us in the long run.

3.
“Skeleton Crew”
The MLL, NLL and NCAA seasons have always intertwined and hindered the product of professional outdoor lacrosse. Soudan and other league coaches have to juggle a fluid roster, whether it be incoming rookies or players with coaching commitments, in the beginning part of the season until the indoor and college seasons come to a close and all players are available.
Where this will hurt them the most is in goal.
John Galloway, arguably one of the league’s premier goalies, is coaching at Jacksonville University and Rochester-native back-up goalie Blaze Riorden, who is with the Buffalo Bandits indoor team, won’t be available for the first game of the season. Both will likely be back by the second game.
Soudan drafted Kristian Alleyne, a former Rutgers standout, and is considering appointing him as the team’s starter for the first game until Galloway is finished with his first year as a collegiate head coach.

4. Fairport’s Blaze Riorden … on offense?
Fan-favorite and 2012 All-Greater Rochester Player of the Year Blaze Riorden might look a little different this season.
“Watching him over a 40-day period get himself into shape was a transformation I’ve never seen in any athlete,” Soudan said.
The goalie, who led Fairport to a Section V title in 2012, shed 40-pounds in order to play attack for the Buffalo Bandits. He has scored six goals and had 12 assists in seven games.
“I’m in a position where I wouldn’t even hesitate to put him on offense for us,” Soudan added.
On the team’s roster Riorden is listed as both a goalie and attack. Remember his famous ESPN top-10 play when he took the ball coast-to-coast and scored in the first round of the 2013 NCAA semifinals for the University of Albany — as a goalie.
5. New, but familiar faces
The Rattlers acquired Charlotte’s Kevin Drew in a trade prior to training camp. However, training camp didn’t end so well for Drew.
“(He) blew his knee out,” Soudan said. “I don’t even know if we were a full 45 minutes into practice before it happened.”
Soudan immediately found a replacement by trading with the New York Lizards for JoJo Morasco, yet another former Syracuse University star to play for Rochester.
Soudan also has high expectations for Dhane Smith.
“Dhane is going into this year as his second field lacrosse experience,” Soudan said. “He was a gamer at the end of games and he’s a big-time player. He’s a match-up issue, he’s really good.”
Smith is currently the leading scorer for the Buffalo Bandits.

Families in which acting has been passed on for at least three generations.
The monumental action “Godzilla vs. Kong” is released, starring Alexander Skarsgård, the son of the even more famous actor Stellan Skarsgård and the brother of actors Bill, Gustaf and Walter Skarsgård. An impressive Swedish family, although, in fact, only two generations of the dynasty passed on the craft. We remembered families where acting became a family affair for three, four and even five generations.
3rd generation

Alas, as you know, now his career was interrupted – Efremov is serving an 8-year sentence for an accident that led to the death of a person. On the other hand, his son Nikita (born 1982), who appeared on the screen in two high-profile projects – the TV series “The Good Man” and “Flight”, makes a new round in the career of his son Nikita (born 1982).

Barrymore
John and Drew Barrymore
The founder of the dynasty was the Irishman John Drew (1827-1862), who moved to America in the hope of becoming a star on the stage. He and the actress Louise Drew (1820–1897) had a daughter, Georgiana (1856–1893), who continued the work of her parents and married the actor Maurice Barrymore (1849–1905). All three of their children – Lionel (1878-1954), Ethel (1879-1959) and John (1882-1942) – also became actors. John Barrymore, the most successful of them (he even has a personal star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame), married to actress Dolores Costello (1903–1979) had a son, John Drew Barrymore (1932–2004), whose career was not too bright. His main achievement in the end was his daughter Drew (born 1975), who began acting at a very early age and almost ditched her career after her grandfather, addicted to alcohol and drugs. Fortunately, the star of Steven Spielberg’s “Alien” changed her mind in time. She has two daughters – Olive Barrymore Kopelman (born 2012) and Frankie Barrymore Kopelman (born 2014). Whether they will become the sixth generation in the Barrymore acting dynasty is still in question.

An anonymous call again makes Gordon the prime suspect in the murder of Galavan. Meanwhile, Oswald meets a stranger near the grave of his mother, who claims to be his father …
Tabitha: Apologies accepted. Now let’s kill him.
It happened: the main villain of “Gotham”, he is also its main character, suffered a well-deserved punishment, earning a 40-year mark. Even if it doesn’t last longer than one episode (and it looks like it), it’s still an extremely enjoyable moment.
Jim Gordon continues to be the show’s least likable character: what are his reactions when talking to Barnes, even though he is innocent of the murder of Pinckney (the last of the original cadet lineup?). Therefore, watching how Nygma simply twists him around his finger is a real pleasure (a simple Gotham rule: don’t pick up a crowbar if you don’t want to beat Robin). By the end of the episode, Jim still has no idea who could have set him up, he does not even have the slightest suspicion about Ed, and he did not have time to deal with the Kringle case (Leslie really should have turned to the department dealing with such losses – it was b more use). Now all hope is in Bullock. And, no matter how fun Gordon’s life in “Blackgate” is, the future promises him even more fun, because in “Arkam” very much in the style of “The Dark Knight Returns” his personal Joker – Barbara – comes to life.
Gotham continues to delight the Bat villains, fully formed long before the Batman debut: this week the quiet bespectacled man appears as a true Riddler in a green suit (and a useful, CCTV cap), committing crimes to play cats -mice with riddles, hints and feints that send the pursuers themselves behind bars.Even though he cannot resist the riddle during the murder of Pinckney, Edward is several steps ahead of the detectives, not afraid to personally be present at the crime scene and watch what is happening.
The Penguin Line gets a rather unexpected direction. Absent, alas, this week, Strange has sealed the brains of the former “King of Gotham” so well that after his release he goes straight to Butch and Tabitha, who are very comfortable spending time together. The extremely puzzled faces of Ozzy’s “friends”, a cupcake brought as a gift, the reaction of everyone around to a hand stuck in his pocket and Cobblepot himself, now a cheerful combination of “A Clockwork Orange” with “Rain Man” – the scene demonstrates that “Gotham” is still I have not forgotten how to go crazy cheerfully, and therefore Oswald’s “punishment” looks quite organic in this context. The only thing Tabbi didn’t think to do was put him backwards on the donkey.
The new peace-loving Penguin is completely uninteresting to Nigma, who has entered a murderous form, sending his friend away without any special ceremony. But he is accepted with open arms by someone whom he definitely did not expect to ever meet – his own father, Pee-Wee Herman, aka Tucker Cobblepot from “Batman Returns”, he is (in this version) Elijah Van Dal, one in a word, Paul Rubens. An eccentric aristocrat suspiciously quickly and willingly introduces the prodigal son into his circle, introducing other family members who do not seem to share his enthusiasm very much. One gets the impression that Ozzy got his own show inside the show (like Fish in his time on Dollmaker Island), not connected in any way in plot or mood with the rest of the world of Gotham, a kind of crazy version of Dynasty with a rich dad and a fight for shows the promo of the next episode, where the unfortunate freak will be deprived of his innocence by the newly-minted sister). This is not necessarily a bad thing: rotation in “high society” will not do much harm to this, not too sophisticated yet, incarnations of Penguin, Taylor and Rubens look great together in the frame, and if it is thanks to communication with the family, and not with criminals, the true personality Cobblepot will finally raise his head, it will be a very entertaining sight.
For those who decided to seek adventures on their own … let’s call it a head, Bruce willy-nilly observe through the eyes of Selina, that is, with skepticism and sighing from time to time (there are enough problems without that, and then this one).
