Drew Adams|Visit Franklin County PA
On this week of Music Spotlight, another fine Franklin County musician and singer stands in the spotlight; meet Mr. Drew Adams.
A Waynesboro native, Drew Adams is a freelance musician who has been part of the live music scene in the area for many years. His axe of choice is the bass guitar. On the other hand, when he is playing solo or with another musician, he can be seen strumming the six strings of his Taylor T5 acoustic electric guitar. Drew has also filled in on drums from time to time for numerous musicians and bands. Currently, Adams plays in the band Sundog Ritual, On Tap Duo, and under the name of Drew Adams Acoustic when performing solo. Back in 2006, Drew also graduated from the AudioWorks Program at the Sheffield Institute for the Recording Arts in Phoenix, MD.
Rock music of the 1990s is the driving force behind Drew’s musical motivations. For him, there was just something about the music and its characteristics during the decade. Rock music was dramatically changing. Punk rock, the grunge movement, and 90s alternative rock were blossoming with unique artists and bands. According to Adams, Weezer, REM, and Harvey Danger are just a handful of the bands that grabbed his attention the most. The most notable influence would be Green Day. Green Day was a band that was redefining punk rock and music composition all throughout the decade and into the early 2000s.
Drew’s musical influences are not limited to the 90s rock movements, however. As a true music lover and cover musician, he very much enjoys music from decades past. He certainly appreciates big hit bands and songs from the late 1970s and early 80s. The Knack is one such band between those time periods that captivated Drew. During a performance from this man, listeners will also catch a few tunes from the 40s, the 50s, and even a few songs from the late 1800s!
What does Drew get out of doing music? According to him, “music is a great release from the stresses and day-to-day concerns endured every day. It’s also a healthy way to take one’s mind off things that usually end up being not as big of a day as we thought they were.” Sometimes he will be minding his business in public and then the perfect song comes on somewhere around him. Immediately afterwards, all weight upon his shoulders gently slides right off and onto the ground. That situation is what Drew hopes to provide to those listening to his performances. For him, leaving a gig and receiving praise and “thank yous” from listeners is more than fulfilling. Ultimately, to be able to perform for a living is a dream. It also keeps him busy between carrying out marketing tasks and goals as well as focusing on music production and editing. It’s a never ending cycle of imagination and creativity.
At the moment, Drew Adams is working on building his YouTube page. For the time being, he can be found on Facebook by searching “Drew Adams” where he posts gig updates and all things music related!

Drew Adams joined Cincinnati in October 2022 as the Associate Athletics Director for Men’s Basketball.
Adams comes to Clifton by way of Bradley, where he was an assistant coach the previous seven years (2015-22). He helped the Braves to a complete rebuild that resulted in consecutive Missouri Valley Conference Championships for the first time in school history.
“Drew is one of the brightest young minds in college basketball,” Cincinnati head coach Wes Miller said. “His experience in operations, recruiting and coaching at the highest level – including multiple NCAA Tournament bids and conference championships at several different elite programs – has given him an impressive resume and the skills to come into Cincinnati and immediately make us better in every facet of our program.”
Respected among his peers and established as one of the brightest young minds in college hoops, he helped guide Bradley and New Mexico to five NCAA Tournament berths in his first six years as an assistant coach.
“I couldn’t be more excited to be a University of Cincinnati Bearcat,” Adams said. “Growing up in Southern Indiana, I know how special this place is with its history and tradition. I have so much respect for Coach Miller, and I couldn’t be more grateful for him giving me this opportunity.”
Adams earned Top 50 Most Impactful Mid Major Assistants distinction from Silver Waves Media in both 2020 and 2022, and was also named one of the top five assistant coaches in the Missouri Valley Conference during in 2020.
Adams played an important role in reestablishing Bradley to the peak of the Missouri Valley. He helped turn the nation’s youngest team with just five wins in 2015-16 into conference champions and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament just three years later in 2018-19 – Bradley’s first MVC Tournament title since 1988. BU then repeated as conference champions in 2020, marking the first time since 1954 and 1955 the Braves qualified for the NCAA Tournament in back-to-back seasons.
He coached 10 all-conference players and seven MVC All-Freshman recipients at Bradley. Most recently, Bradley featured the 2022 Valley Newcomer of the Year in Terry Roberts and featured two NABC All-Region selections.
Adams joined Bradley after four seasons at the University of New Mexico, where he helped the Lobos to a 99-36 (.733) overall record, including a 45-21 (.682) tally in the Mountain West Conference. During his tenure in New Mexico, Adams helped the program to two regular-season league titles, three Mountain West postseason tournament crowns and three top-7 seeds in the NCAA Tournament.
He initially joined the staff in 2011-12 as Director of Operations for Steve Alford, was promoted to assistant coach for the 2012-13 season and remained on Craig Neal’s staff his final two seasons.
Adams, who played for Alford during the 2006-07 season at Iowa, began his coaching career as a student assistant at Tennessee, helping the Volunteers to consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances and the program’s first No. 1 national ranking during the 2007-08 season. After graduating from Tennessee in 2009, Adams spent two years on Tom Crean’s staff at Indiana, first as Coordinator of Basketball Systems in 2009-10 before being promoted to Director of Operations for the 2010-11 season. He also has coached on the AAU level for the Indiana Elite program.
Adams began his collegiate playing career at Florida Community College of Jacksonville where he was team captain as a sophomore in 2005-06 before transferring to Iowa.
A 2004 graduate of Bloomington High School South, Adams spent three years playing for head coach J.R. Holmes. During his senior season at South, the Panthers won Conference Indiana and he was selected as team captain, was the team’s leading scorer and was an all-conference selection.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in sports management from Tennessee in 2009. Adams and his wife, Brooke, have two daughters, Quinn and Ava, and one son, Nolan.

The Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew are detective stories published by Simon & Schuster. The Hardy Boys series was created in 1927 by Edward Stratemeyer. He later created Nancy Drew a few years later as he wanted a female lead on the show. But do you know the listed authors of both book series; Frank Dixon and Caroline Keene weren’t real people?
Caroline Keene, author of the Nancy Drew series, and Frank Dixon, author of the Hardy Boys books, do not exist. These are pseudonyms used by several writers who write and collaborate on the series.
Why do authors use pseudonyms?
Pseudonyms or pseudonyms are used by authors for various reasons. Established authors will do this so as not to alienate their fans by crossing genres. Writers may also publish under a different name to protect their identity.
Another reason to write under a pseudonym is when the authors are publishers. When an author has a contract, their publisher can own the rights to any future work published under their name. Authors often take on a new name to keep an eye on their work while avoiding legal issues.
However, one of the most common reasons authors use pseudonyms is because their previous work failed. If a writer doesn’t make money for a publisher the first time, he’s unlikely to get another chance. Instead, the publishers tried someone new. The writer can be reborn under a pseudonym. Who is Franklin W. Dixon?

Who is Caroline Keene?

Leslie MacFarlane, James Duncan Lawrence, Walter Carig and Nancy Axelrod were among the other authors who used the pen name. (Source: Penguin Randomhouse)
The Hardy Boys
Frank and Joe Hardy are fictional characters who appear in several children’s and teen crime novels. The show follows a group of children who work as amateur detectives, solving crimes that baffle their adult counterparts. The characters were created by Edward Stratemeyer, founder of the book packaging company Stratemeyer Syndicate in the United States.
