The Custom Sock Design Process: From Concept to Creation
Creating custom socks with Custom Sock Shop is a straightforward process designed to ensure customer satisfaction. Here’s a step-by-step guide to bringing your sock design to life:
- Submit your design idea or logo in .jpg or .pdf format
- Specify your desired sock style and size
- Receive a free digital mock-up for approval
- Optional: Request a physical sample for an additional fee
- Approve the design
- Production begins
Throughout this process, Custom Sock Shop’s design team is available to assist you, ensuring your vision is accurately translated onto the socks.
Navigating Design Limitations and Possibilities
While custom socks offer numerous design possibilities, it’s important to understand potential limitations, especially with knitted socks. Complex designs or logos may be challenging to reproduce accurately due to the nature of the knitting process.
For intricate designs or photorealistic images, sublimated (printed) socks are recommended. These allow for more detailed and complex visuals, as the design is printed directly onto the sock fabric.
Text can be incorporated into sock designs, but simplicity is key for knitted socks. The pixelated stitch pattern resulting from the knitting process means that simpler logos and text tend to work best.
Ordering and Shipping: What You Need to Know
Understanding the ordering process and shipping details can help you plan your custom sock project effectively.
Minimum Order Quantities
For custom knitted socks, the minimum order is 15 pairs of the same color(s) and size. However, you’re not restricted to increments of 15 – you can order any quantity above the minimum. For printed socks, there is no minimum order quantity.
Pricing and Discounts
Prices start at $8.99 per pair, with discounts available for bulk orders. Custom Sock Shop does not charge any setup fees or extra costs for custom logos, making it a cost-effective option for personalized socks.
Shipping
Custom Sock Shop offers free shipping to the contiguous United States, adding value to your order. International shipping options may be available upon request.
Production and Delivery Timeline
While the exact timeline can vary depending on the complexity of your order, Custom Sock Shop prides itself on quick turnaround times. You’ll receive an artwork proof within 48 business hours, allowing you to quickly move forward with your project.
Caring for Your Custom Socks: Durability and Maintenance
Custom Sock Shop is committed to producing high-quality, durable socks. However, proper care can help extend the life of your custom socks.
Knitted Socks
These socks are designed to withstand regular use and washing. While they may shrink slightly, the acrylic blend ensures that logos and colors won’t fade significantly over time.
Printed Socks
Sublimated socks tend to fade and shrink more quickly after washing. To preserve the design, consider washing these socks in cold water and air-drying them when possible.
By following proper care instructions, you can ensure that your custom socks remain vibrant and comfortable for as long as possible.

Is there a minimum amount we must order?
For orders of custom socks, the minimum order is 15 pairs of the same color(s) and same size. However, you do not have to order in increments of 15 pairs, i.e. you can order 21 pairs if needed.
There is also no minimum order amount for our printed socks.
What limitations are there to the design? Can you design it for us?
While our standard knitted socks do have some limitations with complex designs or logos, we do offer printed socks that have much less limitations. Our design team will work with you throughout the process to ensure you get the perfect design and sock.
Do the socks shrink or fade after being washed?
Custom Sock Shop prides itself on creating quality socks that are durable. While the socks will shrink slightly, our acrylic blend ensures that no logos or colors will fade, and your socks will stand the test of time (and laundry).
For our printed socks, they will tend to fade and shrink more quickly after being washed.
What’s the difference between the types of socks?
Our Athletic Socks are made with 80% acrylic and a 20% blend of nylon and elastic. They are knitted specifically to have ribbing, arch support, and be tighter around the leg.
Our Standard Marketing or Promotional Socks are also made using the same material as athletic socks. The difference is that these are built using flat-knit construction, so the sock is the same thickness all the way around (no ribbing, arch support, etc.).
Our Dress Socks are made with 80% cotton, 18% nylon, and 2% spandex. The high-quality material used allows this to be a one-size-fits-most sock. Our dress socks are also made using a higher gauge needle machine which allows for more complex logos and a tighter knit. These are best for corporate sponsors, high-end giveaways, and intricate designs.
Lastly, our sublimated (or printed) socks are made with almost entirely cotton and use a heat transfer printing process to allow for intricate designs, photos, and logos. We print your design directly onto a blank cotton sock and ensure it looks good even when stretching the fabric. Unlike our knitted socks, these will tend to fade and shrink after continuous use and washing.
What kind of logos can I put on my sock? Can we include text?
Email us a .jpg or .pdf file of the logo you desire for review by our sock specialists. Please provide the style and size of the sock on which you would like your logo. The sock knitting process uses larger needles than embroidery which results in a pixelated stitch pattern. Designs are knit into the sock itself not applied on, so simple logos and text work best.
Is there a way to preview the sock before we start fundraising?
Custom Sock Shop does not begin any production until you approve your free digital mock-up. For an additional fee, we can also ship you a physical sample of your sock to approve.
Is there a set-up fee?
No, Custom Sock Shop does not charge any fees for set-up or custom logos on any sock order. You will be able to work with our design team for no extra cost.
When will we receive our order?
Once your design and order is complete, you will receive your order within 7-10 business days (weekends and holidays excluded).
What is the Return Policy?
If you are not satisfied with your order, please call a sock specialist at 888-557-9185. Each case is different; however, we do not accept returns on socks that have been customized after artwork approval and order confirmation. All orders returned will be charged a 20% restocking fee, unless the error was done by us. Please ship returns with a valid RA number written on the box to 12423 Brougham, Sterling Heights MI 48312.

A Chinese man paid the price for his habit of regularly sniffing his socks – he ended up in the hospital with a fungus in his lungs. An unusual medical case is reported by Chinese edition Apple Daily .
A man named Peng from Fujian province went to the doctors complaining of cough and chest pain. The proposed treatment did not help – a week later the man’s condition worsened, and he ended up in the hospital. Having made an x-ray, the doctors saw that his lungs were affected by a fungus.
The man’s immunity was weakened due to sleepless nights after the birth of the child. His habit of sniffing the socks he took off did him a disservice – the spores of the fungus that settled on them got into the lungs and germinated there, causing pain and coughing.
The doctors prescribed the appropriate treatment for the man. According to them, he is already better, although he has not fully recovered yet.

10 things that the hosts of the house will not tell the guest directly in the face, but they will wash all the bones behind their backs It’s just that many people neglect etiquette when they come home to friends and close relatives, saying: “Well, we are like a family, why be embarrassed.
” But even the most tactful owners can be put in an awkward position. In order not to inadvertently spoil the friendship and, in general, to show oneself from the best side, you can familiarize yourself with the list of errors, the existence of which not everyone knows.
Explore the apartment yourself
© pch.vector / Freepik
When guests visit a house or apartment, it is tempting to look into all corners. But, according to the rules of etiquette, it is extremely impolite to make a detour of private property without the permission of the owners. Especially look into the bedrooms. Sometimes the owners themselves are not averse to holding a mini-tour of their apartment. In other cases, only the bathroom is allowed to be visited independently.
Put on master’s slippers
Hospitable hosts often offer guests who come without a change of shoes their own slippers. However, someone else’s shoes should not be worn, if only for hygiene reasons. After all, slippers can contain up to 10 billion bacteria.
It is best to take a change of slippers or socks prepared especially for visiting. What you definitely shouldn’t do is to come to someone else’s house in street shoes, bringing dirt and germs from the street with you.
Bring someone without asking
© bearfotos / Freepik
Instead of showing up with an escort, be it a partner or a child, ask permission from the hosts in advance. Because, as in the case of invitations to festive events, a guest who suddenly appears can significantly increase the hosts’ spending on treats.
Trying to hide if something is broken or dirty
© freepik / Freepik
The desire to make a good impression can sometimes go too far. For example, a guest soiled the tablecloth or spilled coffee on the carpet, and then simply tried to hide it. It would be much more polite to immediately tell the owners and help clean up the mess.
Asking to adjust the temperature
© freepik / Freepik, © peoplecreations / Freepik
It happens that the temperature in the owner’s apartment does not suit the guests: it can be too hot or, on the contrary, too cold. But taking the remote from the air conditioner and changing the temperature on your own is not an option.
It is best to politely ask for a blanket or sweater or, if the guest is sensitive to high temperatures, to move closer to an open window or air conditioner.
Touching household items
© freepik / Freepik
Checking what is on the shelves of cabinets or in the refrigerator, picking up the personal belongings of the owners of the house is an invasion of privacy. This is completely inappropriate, even if it seems that there is nothing wrong with leafing through a magazine lying on the table on your own. Etiquette experts advise asking permission even before picking up a book from the shelf.
Ask for Wi-Fi 9 password0291
© freepik / Freepik, © freepik / Freepik
Before asking for a Wi-Fi password, you should put yourself in the shoes of the owners of the house. They invited a guest to give him time, even if they had the opportunity to spend the whole day flipping through a smartphone while lying on the sofa. Therefore, you should refrain from picking up the phone during the entire meeting.
If the Internet is necessary for work, you should politely wait a while and just chat with friends before asking for logins and passwords.
Use all the toilet paper
In addition to checking which towel you can use before going to the bathroom, you need to check the amount of toilet paper. If the roll is almost over, even taking into account the fact that there is enough paper for one person, you need to delicately and as soon as possible warn the owners about this. Otherwise, you can put the next toilet visitor in an awkward position.
Feed the owner’s pets
Charming fluffies can look at guests with a hungry, pleading look. But this does not mean that the owners do not feed their pets, and they should immediately start fattening food from the table. In addition, animals can sit on a special diet, and such a manifestation of care can only harm the pet.
