In the fall, the teams travels and competes against CU Boulder, University of Denver, University of Northern Colorado, and University of Wyoming. In the spring, the team has had their sectionals tournament in Salt Lake City, UT, and Las Vegas, NV and all teams in the section compete for a bid to nationals. Colorado State University (Colorado State, CSU) is a state “land” university specializing in agricultural, engineering, and veterinary education. It was founded in 1870 as the Colorado Agricultural College. It was one of 68 “land” institutions created by the Morrill Act of 1862. The first 20 students started studying in 1879year. In 1957, the university was renamed Colorado State University. Colorado State still implements the philosophy of “land” colleges today: theoretical classes in classrooms are combined with practice in the field and laboratory conditions.
Today it is one of the leading research institutes in the country. CSU is rated by the Carnegie Endowment as a doctoral university with a very high level of scientific activity. He is known for his research in cancer radiation therapy, ecology, weather forecasting, and animal ethics. University scientists are investigating the problems of tuberculosis and dengue fever, smog over Asian cities, and bioterrorism.

Colorado State covers more than 2,000 hectares, including the main campus with the university veterinary clinic, Foothill, Mountain and agricultural campuses, as well as research centers and the Forest Service Station, located outside of Larimer County. The main campus is located in downtown Fort Collins. Among the well-known graduates of the university are Ibrahim Abdulaziz al-Assaf, Minister of Finance of Saudi Arabia; Walter Scott Jr. – CEO of one of the largest construction companies in the world Kiewit Corporation, Keith Carradine – actor, Oscar winner for the best song for the film “Nashville”; John Gill – professor of mathematics, famous climber, founder of modern bouldering; George Marsaglia – mathematician and computer scientist, developer of the McLaren-Marsaglia pseudo-random number generator; Jason Momoa – actor, performer of the roles of Conan and Khal Drogo from the “Game of Thrones”; John Rubinstein – scientist, engineer, one of the authors of the iPod; Kim Un-young – Korean child prodigy, the smartest person in the world with an IQ = 210, invited to study at CSU at the age of 8; as well as the governors of Montana and Colorado, US senators, several astronauts, and dozens of professional athletes and coaches.

Colorado State University is located in Fort Collins at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. From here you can get to Denver International Airport in just an hour, to most ski resorts in two hours, and to Rocky Mountain National Park in 45 minutes. If the established selection criteria are met (for undergraduate – GPA 3.25; TOEFL IBT 79+; IELTS 6.5+; for some specialties – SAT / ACT, etc.), the applicant has the opportunity to directly enter the university. The rest of the students will need additional language or academic training. On the basis of Colorado State University, the training center of the educational company INTO was opened, which prepares foreign students for admission to CSU.
Undergraduate Pathway: the program includes intensive language training, the study of popular culture, a course in mathematics and a number of other disciplines, depending on the chosen direction. Majors offered: Agricultural Sciences, Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, General Education, Science. The duration of the program is 9 months (2 semesters). For two specializations (agricultural sciences and general education subjects) there is also an accelerated 4-month course (1 semester). The beginning of training is August or January.
Entry requirements (differences depend on the specialty and intensity of the program):

- intra-university math test upon arrival,
- TOEFL 60-75/IELTS 5.5-6.0 or equivalent.
Upon successful completion of the Undergraduate Pathway and compliance with the established criteria, the student is guaranteed to be enrolled in the 2nd year of the university.
Graduate Pathway: a program to prepare international students for admission to a master’s program. The course includes intensive language training and several academic disciplines in accordance with the chosen profile. Proposed specialties: agriculture, promotion of agricultural knowledge; financial risk management, business administration, social and environmental entrepreneurship, computer information systems; chemical engineering, civil and structural engineering, water resources, computer engineering, mechanical engineering; student activity in higher education; tourism management; applied statistics.
Students have access to 2 types of the program: standard – 9 months (2 semesters) and accelerated – 4 months (1 semester). For a number of specializations, only the standard course is offered. Beginning of training – January, August (depending on the program).
Basic entry requirements (differences depend on the specialty and intensity of the course):
- GPA – 2.75,
- TOEFL 70-86/IELTS 6.0-6.5 or equivalent.
For some specialties there are additional academic requirements, which should be clarified separately.
Academic English Program (AEP). The course is intended for students who do not have sufficient English proficiency for direct admission to CSU or Pathway programs. AEP offers students to start learning the language from any level – from basic to advanced (6 in total). If classes in groups for two basic levels focus on mastering academic vocabulary and using the language in everyday communication, then starting from level 3 they are focused on developing specific language skills necessary for studying at the university, and include lessons to improve listening, speaking, writing, reading and grammar.
Duration – 2 semesters of 16 weeks each in spring and autumn, 1 semester (12 weeks) in summer and one 4-week Pre-Academic term in summer (for those who are preparing for undergraduate, graduate or Pathway programs). Teaching load – from 18 hours to 25 hours of classroom lessons per week. Beginning of training – January, May, July, August. Students must be at least 17 years old.
General English Program. The General English program is designed for students of all levels of English who want to improve their communication skills and experience American culture while studying at CSU. It does not include the study of academic disciplines, but can serve as an initial step for further development of the academic English course, the Pathway program and subsequent admission to an American university. The duration of the program is from 4 to 48 weeks. The minimum age of students is 17 years old. Courses start throughout the year. The program includes 3 levels of study: elementary, intermediate and advanced.
Each consists of four 4-week courses. After completing one level, you can move on to the next. Study load – 22 hours per week (3-4 lessons per day). Students live on campus with American students, continuing to learn the language outside of class.
College Year Abroad. An intensive General English program for students who want to fully experience what an American university is. Students enjoy all the resources and facilities provided to current students of the university. They live in dormitories on campus with American students. Duration – from 24 to 36 weeks. The minimum age is 17 years old. The program starts in August or January.

Accommodation (from $8,165 per semester) is offered in one of several University residences, in single or double rooms with private facilities.
