Others, including the National Review’s Charles Cooke, pointed out that Hillary Clinton once cosponsored legislation that would have outlawed flag burning and called for one of the ideas for punishment proposed by Mr.

The other suggestion Mr. Trump’s tweet – that offenders should lose their citizenship – is also illegal. The government can’t strip the citizenship of U.S. citizens born in the U.S. and its territories, under protections afforded by the Fourteenth Amendment.
But others warn that the flag burning tweets are just a feint, a distraction from questions about his conflicts of interest. Commentary Magazine’s Noah Rothman argued that Trump uses Twitter to get the nation into “familiar fits of emotional pique over settled arguments” — like flag burning — while he “manages to evade broader scrutiny over his complex conflicts of interest, none of which he seems all that eager to resolve and some which could put the country on a collision course toward a constitutional crisis.
”
Rothman pointed out that the tweet, which was published early Tuesday morning, comes on the heels of a story published in Government Executive about Trump’s recently opened Washington, D.C. hotel, which Rothman notes, makes a pretty damning argument that “Trump may have to give it up.”
Government Executive’s Steve Schooner and Daniel Gordon reveal in their story that Mr. Trump’s new hotel presents “intolerable conflicts of interest,” if you read the way the contract with the government is written. The General Services Administration (GSA) contract states, “No … elected official of the Government of the United States … shall be admitted to any share or part of this Lease, or to any benefit that may arise therefrom…”
In other words, the moment Donald Trump is inaugurated as president on Jan. 20, 2017, he will violate the lease. He is the chairman and majority stakeholder of the company which owns the hotel.

Ayrshire Rivers Trust | Cloyntie Burn in the Girvan catchment
Another burn and another culvert that causes problems; the Cloyntie Burn in the Girvan catchment is a tributary of the Burnton Burn, a tributary of the Lady Burn joining the Girvan upstream of Kilkerran.
We survey this burn periodically and have found salmon upstream of the Barndonna Bridge culvert on one previous occasion but in very poor numbers. Today the team surveyed upstream and downstream of the culvert and it would appear that salmon didn’t spawn upstream last year or if they did, we din’t find them. This wasn’t unexpected based on previous findings.

We fished two locations upstream and found good numbers of trout in what we consider good to excellent habitat (in moderate to good condition). It is encouraging to find healthy trout populations in some burns as far too many are impacted and poor. We also fished two sites downstream and found salmon at both.
Barndonna Bridge culvert which normally prevents salmon migration
The Barndonna Bridge culvert is slightly perched and undercut with no resting points inside however, it is not entirely impassible, but an obstacle that at certain flows may be passable but that relies on fish arriving at the right time and being in a condition that allows them to run it.
Tired backend fish may struggle but really, there are too many uncertainties to view this as a passable culvert and with missing species and year classes upstream, we are going to ask SEPA to add it to the barriers list and try to promote it in terms of requiring work when the next opportunity arises. This means that the Ayrshire Roads Alliance will be asked to prioritise it for easement when they next plan works to the culvert…but that could be 10 years or more away.
Considering how effective our newly developed baffle system appears to be at slowing flows and deepening the water, I think this culvert would benefit from ART’s attention. We will attempt to find funding and ease this obstacle asap. Another benefit of our baffles are that they are extremely cost effective when compared to the closest comparable systems imported from New Zealand and as we are geared up for installations, we can take care of everything from design and drawings, obtaining licenses and permission to manufacturing baffles and installation using our own staff. From concept to installation we estimate 4 -5 months max depending on the season work in-stream over spawning is to be avoided). Therefore, with any luck, we will attempt to fund and deliver improvements next season unless Ayrshire Roads Alliance can do so before us.
Fencing in need of repair but good habitat and worth protecting and developing
There are areas on the Cloyntie Burn that may benefit from fence repairs and others that require trees. We will see what we can do to build a project to improve this burn along its length and then look to funders for support. That’s not an easy task at the moment as most funding has been channeled to communities die to hardships created by Covid 19. There are other burns in the Girvan requiring assistance such as the Dyrock that has been so badly polluted just 2 weeks ago and the Barlewan that has historic modifications that limit productivity. No shortage of improvements to be made but a distinct shortage of cash funding available for any restoration works.
The lower section of burn has been historically straightened and latterly fenced but with narrow buffers like these, I doubt the fence will last too long as the brin continues to revert back to a more meandering state. Larger buffers may take land out of production but at least it should survive for more than a few years. Trees and perhaps some green engineering may help stabilise the burn and protect the fence.

Still, the Mammoth River is a tributary of a larger river. But Schrenk turned out to be even shallower.
All that was left was to be glad that we had changed our original plan of transfer to the upper reaches of the Schrenk.
It’s hard to imagine what we would do in this case.
A strange formation of dark soil on the banks of the river turned out to be a kind of salt lick.
Apparently, a few tens or even hundreds of thousands of years ago, the sea was splashing here.
This soil is literally saturated with salt. The reindeer literally ate the mound on both sides,
and such a ridge with a height of 5-7 meters was formed.
The width of the ridge in the upper part is slightly larger than the foot, in the middle part it is about a meter.

In addition to reindeer, small herds of musk oxen roam the expanses of the Taimyr tundra. There were especially many of them on the Shrenk River.

You experience an amazing sensation watching musk oxen graze on the open tundra: from time to time it rains, a gusty wind carries low clouds, shaggy mounds slowly walk along the hilly plains with stunted brownish vegetation.The wind blows long locks of their fur, tears off the faded shreds and carries them across the tundra.
At first glance, it is impossible to understand where in general is in front, and where is the back of these creatures. All that is missing is the trunk and tusks.
Honestly, hunters are surprising, striving to obtain a license to hunt these animals. A person can certainly scare them and cause the entire herd to flee, but no special skills are needed to approach them openly almost closely. Anyway, this is probably how to kill the last mammoth.
This musk ox walked between the tents of our camp while everyone was asleep. Well, of course – not all … Otherwise, where would these pictures come from!
It quickly became clear that the musk ox passed through our camp quite purposefully, by the shortest route.
On the other side of the river, a female was walking along the bank. And, of course, he saw nothing but her!
And then I saw! For a few moments we looked at each other in amazement. I managed to take a few pictures.

There is something prehistoric in the look of these animals, and indeed in their appearance.

In the literature on Taimyr, there are mentions that somewhere on the Shrenk River there are foci of natural burning of coal.

The spontaneous combustion of coal can be caused by certain minerals contained in coal-bearing rocks, for example, pyrite, or iron pyrite. The reaction of its oxidation in combination with the organic matter of the host rocks leads to significant heating of the coal strata, and then to spontaneous combustion. Natural spontaneous combustion of coals can be supported by the flow of natural gas from the earth’s interior through cracks in the rocks of the earth’s crust.

From the history of the Burning Mountains
The Burning Mountains are located 350 km upstream of Blagoveshchensk, 35 km from the village of Novovoskresenovka. The area of this geological object is 40 hectares. “Mountains” were known to the Chinese about 300 years ago – their ancient villages come close to the opposite bank of the Amur. Among Russian researchers, Grigory Permikin and Pavel Anosov spoke about this place in the 60s of the 19th century. The description of the steep Amur coast is found in the works of the traveler Fyodor Schmidt.Later, the burning coast was investigated by the mining engineer Pyotr Yavorovsky.
In 1983, the Burning Mountains were recognized as a natural monument of regional importance.
Why the bank of the Amur is on fire
An underground fire spreads along the coast for several kilometers along the Amur. Over the past 136 years, the area of combustion has not changed. Here, brown coal and lignite occur at a depth of 10–15 meters from the surface of the earth. The researchers found that the lignite layer has been forming in the earth since the Mesozoic period.The Amur bed in this place makes a sharp turn, and the river waters wash away the high bank. Here, cliffs with a height of 80 to 120 meters are formed. The loose sandy soil crumbles, exposing the brown coal seam. Brown coal quickly oxidizes in air, heats up and begins to burn, emitting thick smoke. In dry weather it burns with tongues of flame, in rainy weather it smolders.
