As Nike turns the Kyrie 7 over to the kids, they’ve added an element of fun alongside. While the colorway itself may seem drab in its look, it complements the brand’s newest friend Chip who proudly sits atop the shoe.
Wide-eyed with a blank stare, the anthropomorphic mascot is affixed to the tongue, placed just above a silver-cast name tag. He makes a second, more hidden appearance on the insole, whose green pastures are far distinct from the neutrals that dress the exterior. Primarily grey-based, the upper is inspired wholly by Chip himself, his eyes and teeth even represented by way of the forefoot’s eye stays, the Swoosh, and the subtly speckled midsole.
Enjoy an official look at these below. GS, PS, and TD sizes are expected to hit Nike.com and select retailers on August 5th.
In other news, the Jordan Air Mae is back.

Nike+ iPod = making workouts fun. Part one – purchase, installation, configuration.
What does a “normal” person do when he has, relatively speaking, an extra one or two hundred dollars and he wants to go in for sports and improve his physical condition? I think he goes and buys a gym membership, walks and trains traditionally. What does a person whose sphere of interest includes Apple products do? He finds out on the Internet that there is such a wonderful accessory trainer as Nike +, runs after him to the store, buys this interesting gadget and begins to dream that now everything will change and he will no longer sit around the clock on his beloved MacBook Pro, but will sports, will regularly run, and not just like that, but with Nike +. So, what is it and what does it eat with.
Nike+ is an accessory that was released by Apple in collaboration with Nike, its essence is quite simple, but at the same time very interesting. It consists of a special sensor for sneakers and a connector for the iPod, so that during the run, information about the run is transmitted to the player. But do not think that this is just such a speedometer, it is actually a full-fledged trainer that allows you to set and meet goals, run distances, remind, lose as many calories as we need, and also an excellent motivator – it’s boring to run on your own, you won’t praise yourself , no one will praise, and then Nike + will happily announce that we have run another kilometer, turn on our favorite invigorating song, and so on. But about everything in order. Since there is not much information about this device and its use on the Russian-speaking Internet, we decided to make a full review, consisting of several parts.
Part one. Purchase, installation, configuration.
So, how it all started. First of all, I went to the Nike store, where they handed me such a box, which is the accessory we need. It is very curious that the price for it in Kyiv … is lower than in America. I bought in the store “Delta Sport” on the street. Lesya Ukrainka. There are still a few pieces left, who cares 🙂
UAH 179 at the current exchange rate is about 22 dollars, in America Nike+ costs 29And that’s without taxes. Rumor has it that at one time they simply brought in a lot of such accessories, but they “didn’t go”, which is why they are sold at such a price. We are still not a nation of runners and accessories do not scatter like pies.
In addition to the accessory itself, a person far from running, which I actually am, needs running shoes. Of course, many have them, but I didn’t (I prefer sneakers for walking), and I wanted branded Nike, which are specifically designed for running and have a place where you can install the Nike + 9 sensor itself0003
What used to be, that now I personally consider Nike sneakers to be some kind of ugliness, but I bought them not for beauty, but for sports, respectively, I measured for a long time, chose the right ones for my feet, so that nothing would press with a comfortable sole and so on. By the way, now in Kyiv there is a 50% discount in Delta Sport stores, so you can buy sports shoes at a very attractive price. Black sneakers were bought only because there is slush and dirt around, and it seemed to me that in this color they are less susceptible to pollution, or rather, it will be less visible. I repeat that I specifically chose sneakers with a hole for Nike +, so as not to bother. Some people simply put the sensor under the insole, but those who know say that it is not very convenient, and there is little comfort to run with some kind of hump under the insole.
In order to install the sensor in the sneaker, you need to lift the insole in the LEFT sneaker, take this very sensor and put it in place of the rubber plug, gray in the photo.
Then we lower the insole into place and put on the sneakers, check if everything is OK, is it comfortable, and so on.
The next step is to connect the connector to your iPod, please also note that Nike+ only works with iPod Nano and iPod Touch (they say that only the second generation), and it is completely unclear for what reason the accessory is not perceived by the iPhone. It looks like an artificial software limitation, which, however, so far no one has overcome and information on this subject could not be found on the Internet.
I haven’t had an iPod since I got my iPhone, so today I was urgently looking for an iPod from my friends to test Nike + over the weekend and unsubscribe on the blog. Thanks to Alexey Taranenko for the provided device. I will buy an iPod separately for running myself a little later.
However, picking up the Ipod Nano, you no longer understand why the iPod Touch support was implemented then, because the nano is a very light device that will not burden you at all during sports.
Just plug the connector into the socket and immediately find a new item in the menu.
Entering it, everything becomes simple and clear. Instructions on what to do are displayed on the screen and we just have to follow the menu items.
Naturally, first you need to set up Nike +
Choose your favorite song for running, the voice with which the “instructor” will solemnly congratulate you on the distance covered in headphones is quite simple and, frankly, not very important, unlike calibration of the sensor itself. Without this procedure, there will be zero sense from using Nike +.
Calibration required for running and walking. For him, it is necessary, respectively, to walk or run through the area, the distance of which we know and put it in the menu. But where to find this very site? There are two simplest options – to find the nearest stadium and find out the length of its circumference, i.e. on a treadmill or using a car, measure a distance of 0.5-1 km on a straight section, and then overcome it on your own feet and already with Nike +
In order for the training to be complete and to realize all the possibilities of Nike +, you must also indicate your weight – now the accessory will be able to solemnly tell us how many calories we lose during runs.
On this, in principle, the installation is completed and you can start jogging. However, we found one not very pleasant thing. When using the iPod while jogging, of course, we will use headphones to listen to music and information from Nike +, but .
