School of Champions moves to Tolyatti.
And accepts Victoria Kalinina with a yoga instructor! – Handball. Quick Center – Blogs
This post was written by Sports.ru user, every fan can start writing (you can do it here).
In June last year, handball players aged 12-14 from different cities of Russia for the first time came to the “School of Champions” training camp led by three-time world champion Nadezhda Muravyova and Olympic champion Maya Petrova. The beginning was continued. This year the School has a new season.
With hope. “School of Champions”, results of the first training camp: do as we do, do better than us!
Nadezhda Muravyova, who works as a TV commentator and a children’s coach at the youth school “Youth of Moscow – Kuntsevo”, spoke about how the project is developing in an interview with BC.
Nadezhda Muravyova and Maya Petrova
– We kept the name “School of Champions”, which we like a lot because it has a double meaning. On the one hand, we have honored people who were champions in the past, on the other hand, we are preparing a handball team, those who will become champions in the future.
Like last year, the training camp will run for ten days. This is the optimal time. Having become friends, the children parted with each other with tears. But now they are eager to come to school again.
The location of the camp, however, has changed. Last year it was located in the park-hotel “Horizon” near Zvenigorod. In principle, they are ready to accept us there, but in June the volleyball players of the national team come there. Therefore, this time we will be based in Togliatti, our handball Mecca. For me, this is a nostalgic moment ( Muravyova, as part of Lada, won the national championship four times, won the EHF Cup in 2012, played in the Champions League final – BC ).
Once upon a time there was a sports base “Fortuna” in Tolyatti, where handball players and hockey players held training camps. Subsequently, it was rebuilt, and now it is a comfortable hotel for everyone. We will live in it, and go to training to the main arena of the Lada team.
During the “final four” of the Women’s Cup of Russia in Tolyatti, she turned to Andrey Vitalievich Stepanov ( director of the Togliatti sports school “Olimp”, member of the Supreme Council of the FGR – BC ). “Nadia, no questions asked, we’ll find rooms for you!”
With Hope. “Lada” – 25! “I want to live in this city of endless sky and mast pines supporting it”
Rent is paid by FGR. Its head, Sergei Nikolaevich Shishkarev, supported the initiative to create a summer camp from the very beginning. “We’ll find money for the children,” he said. And it’s very nice. When you hatch an idea and want to implement it, you involuntarily fear getting an indifferent answer: we are not interested. The Federation immediately expressed its willingness to cooperate.
Logistics assistance is also provided by Jumpball, a non-profit organization founded by big sports fans. And we are also very grateful to her.
— Are you going to make any adjustments to the “school” program?
– One of the innovations is the involvement of a yoga instructor. With his participation, morning training sessions will be held on the banks of the Volga.
Unlike last year, the school will have a goalkeeping coach. This is the 2016 Olympic champion Victoria Kalinina.
Victoria Kalinina
Many coaches called, offered their candidacies, expressing their readiness to work during the holidays. But for us, on the one hand, it is important that children communicate with athletes of the highest level, on the other hand, it is desirable that a person has experience in children’s handball.
Kalinina does not have it, but she is thinking about coaching. Maya Petrova also did not have the appropriate practice, but she got it with us and became the coach of the first youth team of Rostov this season, and then the assistant coach. We are the ideological inspirers of the project – we saturate it with energy.
— Who else is on the teaching staff?
– Spouses Sidorichevs. Anna is the head coach of the women’s beach handball team, Alexander is the OFP coach of Dynamo-Sinara.
Last year, Oksana Svitanko was organizing the information that we, the coaches, had been collecting for ten days. Compiled notes now serve as the basis for work.
Oksana Svitanko: “Why send a child to swim in the sea when he can come with luggage?”
This season Oksana is already a full coach. Moreover, she has achievements at the children’s level: her 2008 girls from the Krasnodar Territory, like last season, won the Russian championship, the 2006 girls took second place. In addition, Svitanko works as a coach in the Kuban-3 team, which plays in the major leagues.
Russian Championship. Girls-2008. Broken prize and “eternal” finalists Volgograd and Krasnodar
Total six coaches. These are people who want to spend their holidays for the benefit of development. They could turn off handball for a while, but we believe that, on the one hand, we can pass on our knowledge and skills to others, on the other hand, we are ready to share information with each other. After that, the coaches go into the season with the same charge as the children.
– Last year, four leading children’s schools – Astrakhan, Volgograd, Krasnodar and Tolyatti – delegated five people each at the expense of the FGR, and another 27 vouchers were sold on a commercial basis. How is it now?
– The total number of athletes does not change. The federation delegates 15 people. These are the winners and prize-winners of the championship among girls born in 2009. The first place in it was taken by the team of the Samara region – read, Togliatti, the second – Astrakhan, and the third – the second team of the Samara region. Therefore, it was decided to distribute preferential vouchers between the two schools, as well as allocate them to handball players included in the symbolic team following the results of the championship born in 2010.
Many people ask: how are you going to train almost 50 people? But on the first day there will be testing, according to the results of which the children will be divided into two streams depending on the level of training. Two streams train alternately. Everyone has two workouts a day in the gym.
— I suppose that girls from leading schools fall into one stream, and those who came from outside, whose trips were probably paid by wealthy parents, into the other?
– The level of training is really different, but we do not have random people, children of wealthy parents who want to try handball. Moreover, the ticket prices are not exorbitant. Among those who are going to travel on commercial trips, there are those who came last year on benefits.
One girl from Tolyatti called for a whole year and said: “I have already saved 20 thousand. How much more do I need?” By spring, she collected the required amount and announced: “That’s it! I’m going to the” School of Champions “!” People spend holidays and vacations in different ways. A question about directions.
The School of Champions has a purely sporting environment. Children of parents who understand the importance of self-development come. My son trained at a similar basketball camp and I can see that the effort was not in vain. The momentum that children get in the summer helps them in sports in the future. Convinced of the benefits of the summer camp on the example of my own son, I thought that it would be great to organize the same in handball.
I am very glad that we were able to provide free trips to the players of the symbolic team of 2010, because often talented players, scorers of their teams remain outside the prize places.
At the same time, our geography has expanded. This year, girls from Yaroslavl, Pikalevo, Leningrad region, St. Petersburg will come. They get the opportunity to train with the best, to progress. A large handball community is formed, in which girls not only train with mentors, but also communicate with each other. Between us, we call our camp little Artek.
– Don’t kids get bored at some point? You actually put them on the training camp, from which the athletes usually howled. Do they have, in addition to handball, cinema, discos?
— As Stella Vartanyan, a member of the Supreme Council of the FGR, noted, it is not difficult to organize a festival for children in such a coaching staff as we have. When the coach goes to the training camp alone with the team – and I have been in such a position! – you really want to free your head for at least half an hour. And the big coaching team has enough energy to keep the kids entertained. Only we do not have discos, but video materials that we prepare in advance according to our profiles.
We share by stations. Petrova last year brought a selection of moments on the game of linemen. She gathered the players of this role in the conference room and analyzed individual episodes with them. Kalinina will work the same way.
I showed new interesting elements of protection. First we explain in the hall, then we transfer to the site. It seems that it is boring, but in fact, children are so fascinated that they ask: “Let’s watch this moment again. ” They lack such visibility in the season.
Trainers are currently being trained in Moscow. At the same time, the well-known specialist Yuri Zaitsev calls: “Find at least 15 minutes to work with goalkeepers!” This means that in the course of the season these 15 minutes are often not available to tired coaches who fill out magazines and write reports.
In addition to work on the stations, during which the subtleties are sorted out, there are also general classes. Ten training days are divided into cycles – three days and one day off. First, all six coaches practice defense, then attack, and in the final cycle everything is combined and ends with matches. A year ago, four teams made up and played their Champions Cup.
We invite famous people in handball. Last year, the Olympic champion, two-time world champion Olga Hakobyan, three-time world champion Emilia Tourey, and two-time Maria Sidorova came. In this we are waiting for Olga Fomina and Valery Kirdyasheva to visit.
It is noteworthy that our training camp successfully gets to the “final four” of the men’s Champions League. We watched the final between Barcelona and Kielce together a year ago, divided into two camps of fans. I still have a touching video recording: the girls are screaming and rooting to tears for one of the two teams, which eventually sort things out in a penalty shootout. After all, handball players rarely manage to watch the game in the company of like-minded people.
– Do you follow the development of your summer wards?
— Having been born, the project continues to live independently. When collecting applications, they organized a chat with the phones of parents and children. They posted emotional photos and videos there. Fortunately, last year, a wonderful photographer Alyona Pastushenko, who collaborates with the BC, specially settled at the base with us, this year they invited another ace, Vyacheslav Prasolov from Togliatti, who works at Lada matches.
So, the summer is over, but the people in the chat remained. None of the parents came out of it! The group is alive, and we will only update it.
Chat and follow the progress of the players. We know that some of them got into the symbolic teams this season due to their age. For example, Marta Trukhanova from Astrakhan became the best lineman of the championship for players born in 2009. This is a small victory for us!
Russian Championship. Girls-2009. “Togliatti Complex” provided the victory of the Samara region
I will not hush up one nuance: at first, the coaches were quite zealous about the fact that children go to others on vacation. But this year the situation has changed. Now we are working in contact.
Some trainers even called: “Nadia, I have a girl. I can’t convince her to do this and that. Please pay attention.” And this is also a small victory.
Four players will arrive from Yaroslavl. They learned about the project during the tournament, to which I brought the children’s team “Kuntseva” (the winner of the championship among Moscow schools). The trainer, a novice specialist, decided to rent a hotel room in Tolyatti at his own expense and asked permission to attend the classes. We agreed, and now Alexander (that’s the name of this coach) will train at the “School of Champions”.
This is another aspect of the project that is sometimes revealed in unexpected ways. I think we will come to holding coaching seminars at the School of Champions. In the meantime, the first swallow has “arrived” from Yaroslavl.
— And in fact, this is the seventh coach who can provide practical assistance to your team of specialists?
– That’s right. Additional “hands” will not be superfluous. For example, Alexander could do the warm-up and cool-down of the players when changing from one stream to another.
In time, perhaps the project will cover managers as well. Now we take care of all the organizational work: ordering a hotel, renting a hall, a catering agreement, uniforms, paraphernalia. If there are managers who are ready to help us, then the doors of the “School of Champions” are open for them.
