Information We Collect

We may collect and process the following information about you:

Registration Information: When you sign up for an account, you give us your name, email address, phone number, Social Security Number, date of birth, employer information, program information, mailing address, and other demographic information. Payment Information: When you add a credit card or payment method to your account, a third party processor receives your card information. CalArts does not store full credit card information on our servers.

Communications: We may keep a record of any correspondence and any information provided.

How We Use Personal Information

Personally Identifiable Information

Personal information allows us to provide you with products, services and information and enables us to offer a customized experience on the Extended Studies site (“site”). We use personal information for the purposes described in this privacy policy or otherwise disclosed to you on our site.

•    We use the Personally Identifiable Information (PII) you submit during registration and related correspondence for processing purposes, including but not limited to attendance tracking, enrollment, academic progress and completion, grading, and performance.

•    We use your name and email address for use in a 3rd party Learning Management System Kannu by Kadenze. We encourage you to read their privacy policy https://access.calarts.edu/privacy_policy.

•    We use third-party services (MailChimp, Facebook and Instagram) to send promotional emails and customized advertising about upcoming programs and events. We only send this promotional material to you as long as you have opted in to receive it from us. You can update your preferences anytime by clicking the unsubscribe link on any email you receive from us or by emailing us at extendedstudies@calarts. edu.

•    We may share your PII with internal CalArts partners, services, and systems.

•    We may share general course data including but not limited to quiz or assignment submissions, grades, and your activity on the Extended Studies platform.

•    Your general demographic data may be used in surveys compiled by CalArts and shared with our University and/or business partners.

We automatically receive and retain certain types of information whenever you interact with the Extended Studies platform. Features

We invite children from 10 to 16 years old to devote two weeks at the summer camp to an incredible creative process in a specially created art studio, as well as in the outdoor space and in nature, where there is everything you need to create real masterpieces.

Under the guidance of renowned craftsman Sergio Celari, children can choose any materials to create their own art project. Paints, papier-mache, wood, leather, textiles, as well as glass, metal, clay and other complex materials.

The workshop has machine tools, workbenches, pottery wheels, kilns for clay and glass melting, metal forging equipment and much more. Simplicity, comfort, safety and an amazing atmosphere of creation and joy are provided.

Every day in the workshop, children master various techniques of artistic processing of materials, tools, equipment, gaining experience, forming an artistic taste, revealing personal creativity and true love for art.

High level of presentation of material

One of the objectives of the program is to enable children who are passionate about art at home not to interrupt their classes during the school holidays, but to continue developing their existing skills in the camp at the summer residence of the arts “Da Vinci’s House”.

Inspiration

The artist’s works are taken to all corners of the world. The master’s personal atmospheric collection is presented in the workshop to inspire the children.

Image simulation

It all depends on the personality of the child. After getting acquainted with all the available materials and techniques, the children begin to model the image of their own art project and work on it. Only the child decides what his creation will be!

Street art

Street art (eng. Street art or street art) is a style and variety of contemporary fine art, in which the space surrounding people serves as a background for the placement of artists’ works. Representatives of this art create street masterpieces not only for self-expression, but also to draw public attention to important everyday problems.

An attractive feeling of freedom of creativity

Street art is a multifaceted art, which is characterized by a huge genre and ideological diversity. There are no clear rules and norms in it, but there is an attractive feeling of freedom of creativity. Street art is always open to a huge number of ordinary people, and not hidden in the depths of the halls of museums, exhibitions and galleries.

In the outdoor and natural space of the camp, children have the opportunity to show their creativity and try different types of street art: inscriptions, drawings, stencils, murals, stickers, posters and installations.

The United States is considered to be the birthplace of modern street art. Here in Philadelphia, in the late 60s of the last century, a young man named Darryl McCray (nicknamed Cornbread) fell hopelessly in love with a girl. Wanting to impress his chosen one, he painted all the surrounding areas of the city with a simple inscription “Cornbread Loves Cynthia”.

List of documents required for enrollment in the camp:

• application (filled in upon receipt of documents)
• agreement / agreement for preferential category (to be completed upon receipt of documents)
• copy of the child’s birth certificate
• copy of the passport of one of the parents (1 page + registration)
• medical certificate of the child’s health – form No. 079/U (from the local doctor or school paramedic)
• consent to the processing of personal data of the parent and child (to be filled out when receiving documents)
• certificate of the epidemiological environment (issued 3 days before the start of the camp at the pediatrician)

• statement of consent of the parent to participate in the creative activities of the student
• consent to self-care home of the child
