How to Get the Infinity Bandana

Although he may not be the most instantly recognizable character in all of video games, Solid Snake is still a fairly iconic hero. Not to mention he has been among gamers’ most beloved protagonists, especially after the bandana-brandishing character made the transition from 2D to 3D with Metal Gear Solid.

It is for that reason that many Metal Gear Solid fans were surprised to see The Phantom Pain’s hero, Big Boss or “Punished Snake,” without his iconic bandana. In nearly iteration of the MGS series, or at least those released before the current console generation, Snake (be it Solid or Big Boss) has worn his trademark bandana.

Turns out, though, that is for good reason, as the bandana is one of the many (and we mean many!) collectibles scattered throughout the game. In fact, there are two bandanas players can earn while playing Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, and one of them, dubbed the ‘Infinity Bandana’, features a pretty cool ability.

How to Unlock the Metal Gear Solid 5 Bandana

First up is the basic bandana, which can be earned about three quarters of the way through the main story. In order to unlock the bandana, players will need to have their Research and Development team leveled up to 34 and they will need to complete Side Op #143. That particular Side Op gives Snake an item called Strangelove’s Memento, which combined with the level 34 R&D gives players the option of developing the bandana. The only other things players will need to do from there are spend the 400,000 GMP necessary for bandana development and wait the necessary time.

Once players have the bandana, they will be 50% less likely to sustain a serious injury while out in the field, which can be a huge advantage. Any time Big Boss takes damage there is a chance he can become gravely wounded, and the player is either required to stop and satisfy a ‘heal’ prompt or they simply let Big Boss die.

However, with the bandana equipped, it becomes more likely that Big Boss makes it out of the gunfight with only a few scratches. And when the difficulty ramps up like it does in the later missions, the ability to take more damage can prove very important.

How to Unlock the Infinity Bandana in Metal Gear Solid 5

While the regular bandana offers players a little extra survivability during missions and side ops, the infinity bandana is a little cooler. As the name implies, the infinity bandana gives players unlimited ammo for all of their weapons, essentially turning Punished Snake into a one-man wrecking crew, or a tranquilizer dart-shooting fiend.

To unlock the infinity bandana in Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, players will need to have satisfied a number of requirements. And since a few of them are story spoilers, we’ll say that there will be spoilers for Metal Gear Solid 5 from here on out.

First off, players will need to unlock mission 46, the “secret mission” in The Phantom Pain. To do so players will need to first unlock mission 45, which requires having maximum bond with Quiet, watching the cutscene where Huey leaves Mother Base, and using anything buy the butterfly emblem for your Forward Operating Base online activities.

After unlocking and completing mission 45, players will then need to complete all story missions up but not including 46, finish every highlighted (with yellow) Side Ops mission, and upgrade their Mother Base to nearly max potential in order to unlock Mission 46. Once that’s done, it’s time to go get the infinity bandana.

Upon completion of Mission 46 players will earn the Star of Bethlehem, another unique item essential to the infinity bandana’s development. Once acquired, players can use the Star of Bethlehem with a Research and Development level of 48 and 1,000,000 GMP to develop the infinity bandana. Again, wait the development time and infinite ammo will be yours.

While the Infinity Bandana would have been a useful unlockable during a first-time playthrough of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, Kojima & Co. clearly wanted to make players earn the extremely useful accessory. And with it, players can give Snake a more familiar look.

As such, gardeners should take into consideration that it will perform differently than it would in its native habitat.

This plant does best in full sun to partial shade. It is very adaptable to both dry and moist growing conditions, but will not tolerate any standing water. It is considered to be drought-tolerant, and thus makes an ideal choice for a low-water garden or xeriscape application. Why are ticks dangerous?

The danger of ticks is that they are carriers of diseases such as piroplasmosis (babesiosis) and Lyme disease (borreliosis). Infection does not occur at the time of the bite, but after a few hours. This is due to the fact that the tick crawls over the body of the animal for some time, from 1-2 to 5 hours, looking for the most vulnerable place for a bite.

Sprays

Sprays work almost instantly, they are very effective in protecting pets, since they can treat the entire body of a pet, but they have significant drawbacks.

Sprays are applied exclusively in the open air, otherwise both the owner and the pet risk breathing in the poison.

Sprays are difficult to dispense, although the instructions for some products say how many “puffs” you need to make.

There are restrictions on the use of spray for puppies, pregnant and lactating bitches, sick and debilitated dogs.

Drops

Sometimes these are technological oversights, and sometimes – economic ones … Most often, the following problems are encountered:

• “Economic” error. Its essence lies in the use of a multi-color layout for the production of small editions. When printing bandanas by silk-screen printing with water-based paints, large-size forms are used. The cost of preparing each of them is very tangible and leads to an increase in the cost of products with small circulations.For example, if 100 pieces with a one-color design cost 150 rubles / piece, then with symbols in six colors, their price increases to 245 rubles / piece. Try to minimize the color of the image for a budget advertising medium. For very small batches, sublimated rayon shawls

• “Technology” error – is the use of thin lines in the image. We decorate the layout without increasing the cost

Solving Thin Line Problems

A separate topic for discussion is the use of thin lines and other elements in designs. All regular customers already know by heart that the minimum thickness of lines and other small objects is 0.4 mm. However, in fact, everyone forgets that this limitation applies not only to lines, but also to the distance (spacing) between them ( example ).This limitation is unambiguously formulated in the technical requirements for layouts. When creating a design, you should be careful about this moment and exclude such details, or minimize their number. We touched on one recommendation for solving this problem in the previous article – do not make used logos and images of a very small size

The second tip to avoid the thin line problem concerns textual information (if any). Try to use sans serif fonts in your design, especially in small text. Even when serif fonts are tolerable and meet the line thickness requirements, the “bridges” in such letters are thinner than 0.4 mm, not to mention that the “serifs” at the ends of adjacent letters actually touch each other, and sometimes they even overlap. And yes – the thickness of the serifs themselves is almost always less than the minimum allowable value. This is true for nine out of ten layouts that use the referenced fonts

Naturally, this advice only works in cases where the serif font is not part of the corporate identity of the client company.The same problem awaits 99% of logos containing the security mark ®, which in most cases turns into a “dirty” dot on the bandana. Most often, customers are aware of this problem and treat it with understanding, however, discussing this with them when creating a layout will not be superfluous

Next, we will discuss the issue of gradients (color transitions from one to another). If you can avoid the use of gradients in the logo, image and design in general when making up a bandana layout – take this chance without hesitation! Variants with the use of “pure” spot colors are always preferable for a number of reasons arising from the technological peculiarities of production

An excursion into technology at the “micro-level” (hide)

The designated moments can take place upon close, close examination and are completely invisible at arm’s length

Printing on bandanas is carried out by silk-screen printing, as a result of which the following factors cannot be ignored:

• The transparency of the ink over the entire area of ​​the image is constant.Gradients are applied by means of raster printing – in the form of dots located at different distances from each other. The more transparency should be, the less frequently the “printed dots” are located ( example )
• The size of the printed dot in silk-screen printing is several times larger than the size of the dots used in printing, it is actually visible to the naked eye. At the time of use of the product, at arm’s length, the drawing or logo looks exactly as it should look, but when viewed “point-blank” the printed dot is visible ( example ).When the customer accepts the finished edition, closely examining the product, these points are visible
• The fabric does not have such a flat and smooth surface as paper, it is a weave of fine threads that has a certain texture, its own “bulges” and “depressions”. When printing, a whole series of dots necessarily fall between the threads from which the material is woven, and becomes invisible. In fact, only those points that fall on the top layer of the fabric, its “bulges” are clearly visible and affect the visual assessment of the application ( example )
• Water-based inks, unlike plastisol inks, do not dry out during application, they are always printed “wet” and dry only after the entire design has been printed.The order in which the colors are applied is determined according to the principle “from light to dark”. A gradient transition from one color to another is practically realized in the form of raster printing (dots) in a darker color on a previously applied light base. When comparing these technological principles together, the physical properties of the fabric must also be taken into account. The first, lighter, color hits a clean, dry surface of the fabric and, coloring it, is absorbed into the surface of the material, causing it to get wet, and the second, darker, color is printed on the wet surface of the fabric.The second paint, falling on previously wet threads, may slightly (not a fact, but possible) drip along wet threads, slightly blurring the clear boundaries of the image

Colored bandanas

I would like to once again touch upon the issue of the production of bandanas with printing on colored fabrics. For fundamental (hygienic) considerations, disclosed on the page dedicated to these products, we are ready to consider such orders only in two cases:

1. When printing in one black color, i. e.because only black water-based paints have the ability to dye 100% of the material of any color, without interfering with the penetration of air through the fabric. That is, a black pattern can be printed with water-based paints on cotton fabrics of any color, while maintaining the ability of the bandana to “breathe” (freely pass air)
2. When the area of ​​application of a picture or logo occupies an insignificant part of the total area of ​​the bandanas, i.e. either it is a very small application, or a large drawing, consisting of fine lines.In these cases, there is a theoretical possibility of printing with plastisol inks

If the first option, in the case of compliance with the requirements for layouts, has no “pitfalls”, then in the second they may be present. For those who want to understand and understand all the “subtleties” of this, we will make another excursion into the technology

Possible pitfalls … (hide)

• Printing on colored fabrics with plastisol inks implies the obligatory presence of a “backing”. “Substrate” – the first layer of paint under the entire drawing, usually white, which is dried after application and on which all other colors are printed on top. Substrate drying is carried out by heating to a sufficiently high temperature with a special stove in a pulsed (short-term) mode. With such a temperature effect, the probability of deformation and / or shrinkage of fabric is very high, especially containing synthetic fibers
• As a result of shrinkage, the colors of the image may not fall on the substrate.When shrinking, the size of the fabric may change very slightly, but when thin lines are printed, this is quite enough. Result: from under the color “the substrate sticks out” or the color “falls through” into the material, without hitting the substrate
• The degree of shrinkage of a material depends on the quality and characteristics of the fabric and occurs for a fairly large number of reasons. The main reasons for deformation are changes in the moisture content of the material during heating and its shrinkage as a result of thermal shock. Any canvas is not completely dry, at least its humidity is equal to that of the surrounding air.Under the influence of high temperature and sharp heating, the humidity decreases and the fabric shrinks. Sometimes, when it cools, the material regains its size, but this happens later, after the entire image is printed
• A reasonable question arises: “Why doesn’t this happen when printing on T-shirts?” The answer is simple:
  
  • Firstly, there is a different structure of the weave of the thread in the fabric (“mini-braids”), from which T-shirts are made. This provides “internal compensation” for shrinkage, unlike bandana fabrics, of which in most cases the threads are straight and there is only interlacing of the longitudinal and transverse threads
  • Secondly, the fabric of T-shirts is much denser and does not have time to heat up completely during the operation of the impulse drying.Only the upper surface of the material warms up, and the fabric for bandanas is thinner and during the drying operation has time to warm up through and through
• From the above, a conclusion should be drawn: the concept of thin lines, in designs for printing bandanas with plastisol inks, is a relative value. They should not be very thin; ideally, their thickness should be from one to two millimeters. Lines with a thickness of 0.4 mm have a high chance of not hitting the substrate, and lines more than 5 mm wide will severely impede air access to the head
