Triangle Lax Training
Damian has been coaching lacrosse in the triangle for 15 years. Starting as an assistant coach at Broughton before taking over the program for 8 years. He has coached with travel programs TSL (now Team91) and Fever (now Ultimate). Originally from Maryland, Damian played multiple sports in high school before deciding on playing lacrosse at the collegiate level. He lettered all four years Loyola University, MD and was named captain his senior year.
Since 2017 Damian has focused on offering training to lacrosse athletes starting at age 10. Using a fundamentals and mechanics-based approach to training with a motto of “Progress, not perfection.”
He believes that “practice makes perminant” and works to build not only an athletes skill and IQ, but their self-confidence as well. Through discussions with parents and the players he strives to create an experence where each athelete feels they can be comfortable and move at their own pace.
Individual training is the most effective method to ensure that your player develops their specific set of skills.
Before the first session with any new player, an evaluation is necessary. The evaluation functions as a base determination of the players skills and serves to create a dialoge between player, parents, and trainer in regards to the player’s goals over the course of a train series. Once those are established, we can create a cirriculum to promote continual improvement.
Evaluations will differ depending on the age, experience, and position of the athlete.
Please use the form below to schedule an evaluation at an available time. If no times are available, please feel free to contact us, and find a time that works for your schedule.
Individual training is the most effective method to ensure that your player develops their specific set of skills. Before the first session with any new player, we as functions as a base evaluation of the players skills and servers to create a dialoge with player, parents, and trainer as to what the player’s goals are.
Once those are established we can create an on-going cirriculum to promote progressive improvement.
Sessions will work on, not only physical skills, but also the IQ behind the why of the drill and the expectation of the player’s position.
In order to sign up for an individual lesson you must first order a package. Once you’ve ordered a package, you will receive instructions on how to book your sessions.
1-1 lessions are available in two packages:
Group Training can be specifically requested. The benefit of group lessons is the ability to incorporate more game-like situations, create a level of accountability, and allow for players to push and support one another through drills.
Group sessions consist of 4-15 players and consist of drills specific to an offensive or defensive group.
Group sessions of 15 or fewer athletes are held for a minimum of 5 sessions on consecutive weeks. Some accomodations can be made to schedule around tournaments and hollidays.
Group Lessons are regularly scheduled with the following options:
- 4-6 athlets ($30/athlete/session)
- 7-10 athlets ($25/athlete/session)
- 11-15 athlets ($20/athlete/session)
- More than 15 contact us for a quote
Request a Group Lesson
Sometimes we like to take our group training to a slightly higher level by making them a series of group lessons. These lessons will consist of 3-10 weeks of consistent times/locations and each session will build upon the previous.
Group series sessions will consist of 5-15 players and consist of drills targeting a specific positional group. Price will vary based on length of each session, the number of sessions, and the number of athletes.
Training series will be held at the designated time/place each week. Make ups will only be allowed if the session is canceled for everyone.
Individual make-up sessions will not be allowed.
Depending on the nature of the training and the number of athletes signed up for the series, a-la-carte pricing may be made available for individual sessions of a training series.
Use the form below to sign up for any available training series.
We are lucky to have some really great athletes come work with Triangle Lax. Here are what a few of them have had to say about their traning experience:
It’s really hard to find a truly great resource for lacrosse skill development in this area. Coach Damian Hall is the best. He brings a high energy, no-nonsense style of coaching and sets the clear expectation that the player will put forth full effort for the entire lesson. Coach Damian does not accept low energy or low effort— ever. He is honest with your player about their skill set and knows exactly how to get them to the next level. He is always prepared for the training session with a planned workout, equipment set up.
He has a keen eye for proper body mechanics and holds himself and the player accountable for making sure fundamentals and body mechanics are executed correctly every time. He fully believes that each player can master proper technique— and he is relentless about practicing until it is performed correctly. My son and daughters know he believes in them and is invested in them because he is JUST as excited, as they are when it clicks. I quickly saw improvement but when your kids’ coaches, teammates, the parents of teammates comment on how well they are playing, you know it’s making a difference.
Lisa F. – Apex
Damian has been invaluable in my children’s lacrosse development. He is one of the most knowledgeable and detail-oriented lacrosse coaches and he is able to share his knowledge to help each athlete reach their potential. He is dedicated to improving and enhancing the performance of his athletes. His training not only builds a stronger and better performing athlete, but also builds confidence in the athletes to believe in their ability to do more on the field and in games.
Having Damian work with my children benefited them immensely throughout the season. I highly recommend Damian for lacrosse training and conditioning.
Erika P. – Apex
Damian is all about Lacrosse. He will teach your daughter the finer points of her shot. He will make her better on every aspect of her game: technique, finishing the shot, Lax IQ, defense, dodging and positive mental attitude toward their lacrosse game. My daughter said “Damian pushes me to be my best.”
Mary P. – Cary
My daughter has been working with Damian for several months. In that time, I have seen her stick work and lacrosse IQ improve tremendously. She has become a more confident, consistent player. In addition, her strength and stamina have made significant strides.
Damian has always been patient, persistent and determined to improve her overall skills. I cannot thank him enough and I’m excited to see how good she becomes!
Marc C. – Raleigh
Just want to thank you for all the work, encouragement, and guidance you have given [our daughter] the past several weeks especially leading up to HS tryouts.
she responds very well and respects you a great deal. She takes what you say, listens to you, and practices what you ask of her. She knows you believe in her and she wants to impress you every time she comes to a lesson. You have a gift for coaching and empowering these girls. Eric and I can’t thank you enough for instilling confidence back in our girl and guiding her in her lax journey. .
