As a new student at Franklin & Marshall College this fall, you’ll have the opportunity to cheer on 18 Division III NCAA athletic teams right on campus. With a robust athletics program and enthusiastic fan base, supporting the Diplomats at home games is an essential part of the F&M experience.

One of the best ways to show your school spirit and bond with fellow students is by attending games. All home competitions are held at F&M athletic facilities like Mayser Gymnasium, George Diener Athletic Center, and Richards Field, making them easy to get to between classes or in the evenings. The atmosphere is always spirited, especially when longtime rivals like Dickinson College or Gettysburg College come to town. The crowds go wild for awesome plays on the field, court, pitch, or pool.

There are so many chances to take in exciting DIII action. Franklin & Marshall has six men’s sports teams: baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, lacrosse, soccer, squash, swimming, tennis, and track and field. On the women’s side, you can follow basketball, cross country, field hockey, golf, lacrosse, soccer, softball, squash, swimming, tennis, track and field, and volleyball. With their rich histories and traditions, many of the teams have been competing for over 100 years.

All students receive free admission to regular season home games with a valid college ID. Make sure to take advantage and become a fan. Some particularly spirited events include the annual men’s lacrosse rivalry match against Gettysburg College called “War on the Shore.” It’s been described as one of the most exciting in Division III lacrosse. The football team’s home opener is always a big deal, and the student section goes wild. When the men’s basketball team hosts Johns Hopkins University, the arena fills up with students amped up for one of the toughest tests of the season.
