USA Lacrosse News Release -
Lax Sports Network
LOS ANGELES – USC lacrosse senior Kelsey Huff (Eastport, N.Y.) and three alumnae of the program including All-American midfielders Amanda Johansen (Glen Head, NY.) and Kerrigan Miller (Bayport, N.Y.), and All-Pac-12 goalie Gussie Johns (Washington, D.C.) will participate in this week’s U.S. National Team tryout camp (June 9-11) at the USA Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md.
Following an 18-month hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Team USA will reconvene for tryouts and workouts this week under head coach Jenny Levy. Levy and her staff will welcome 61 of the nation’s top women’s lacrosse players to the tryout camp.
“We look forward to welcoming in a talented group of players to kick off our quest for 2022 World Championship gold,” said Levy. “It has been a long 18 months since we have been together as a program and I know everyone is looking forward to getting back out on the field in the red, white, and blue.”
Included among the 61 players are nine gold medalists from the 2017 U.S. team — Becca Block, Kristen Carr, Taylor Cummings, Meg Douty, Gussie Johns, Marie McCool, Alice Mercer, Kayla Treanor and Michelle Tumolo — but also number of collegiate players new to the U.S. team program. The tryout pool will also include three gold medalists from the 2019 U.S. U19 team — Sophia DiCenso, Izzy Scane and Belle Smith — who will be getting their first experience with the U.S. senior team.
The event is closed to the general public, but a special livestream will be carried by Lax Sports Network on the evening on Thursday, June 10. The livestream will be hosted by former U.S. national team players Sheehan Stanwick Burch and Kristen Kjellman Marshall, giving lacrosse fans a behind-the-scenes and up-close look at the training process and a group of talented athletes.
“This event will have a mixture of players who have previously been on the U.S. training team in addition to collegiate players who have established themselves as standouts in conference and nationally during the 2021 season,” Levy said. “Picking up where we left off before COVID, June marks the continuation of our process to build a pool of players that we will use to select a training team of 36 and eventually a roster of 18 for the 2022 World Championship.”
USA Lacrosse will host the next World Lacrosse Women’s World Championship from June 29-July 9, 2022 at Towson University. It’s the first time the event has been held in the United States since 2005 and a record 30 nations are expected to compete.
The USC lacrosse team went 9-7 overall with a 6-3 record in the Pac-12 to finish the regular season in second place in the league standings. USC faced Colorado and fell by a single goal in the conference tournament semifinals. Ninth-year head coach Lindsey Munday earned her 110th career victory during the season. Kelsey Huff was named the Pac-12 Midfielder of the Year and Madison Waters was chosen as the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year.

U.S. Women’s Lacrosse National Team Training Camp Roster Includes 10 Tar Heels
The U.S. women’s lacrosse national team invited 10 current or former Tar Heels to its upcoming training camp later this month, more than any other school in the nation.
Only 36 total players were invited to the camp, which will run from June 29 to July 1 at the USA Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Maryland.
The list of UNC representatives on the roster includes: Kristen Carr (Class of 2010), Emily Parros (2013), Molly Hendrick (2017), Caylee Waters (2017), Marie McCool (2018), Jamie Ortega (2021), Kerrigan Miller (2021), Ally Mastroianni (2021), Taylor Moreno (2021) and Emma Trenchard (2021).
In addition, the current coach of the U.S. National Team is UNC head coach Jenny Levy — the program’s only head coach in its 26-year history. Levy was recently named to the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2021.
Boston College and Syracuse tied for the second-most representatives, with five current or former players invited apiece.
This training camp comes following a 60-player tryout which concluded on June 11. It will be the first of three scheduled training camps and competitions for the U.S. National Team in 2021.
The team is slated to compete at the Fall Classic at USA Lacrosse Headquarters from Oct. 14-17, and will conclude the year’s events at the IWCLA Presidents Cup in Dallas from Nov. 18-21.
All of these camps and events are part of the team’s preparations for the World Lacrosse Women’s World Championship, which will be hosted by USA Lacrosse at Towson University in Maryland from June 29-July 9 in 2022 — marking the first time the event has been held in the United States since 2005. A total of 30 countries are scheduled to compete.
The U.S. has won each of the last three World Championships in 2009, 2013 and 2017.

USA Lacrosse Release (Link)
SPARKS, Md. –
University of Richmond sophomore Sophia DiCenso is set to tryout for USA Lacrosse 2021 Women’s National Team on June 9-11 at the USA Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md. The tryouts were originally scheduled for December 2020.
“It is such an honor to be able to attend this tryout,” DiCenso said. “I am excited to compete at the national level among so many great players.
“My coaches and teammates at Richmond have pushed me to the best I can be and they are the reason I have this opportunity. I am truly grateful for this opportunity.”
DiCenso is one of 23 midfielders to garner an invitation and one of 63 of the nation’s top players to make the tryout. In the 2021 season for the nationally-ranked Spiders, DiCenso tallied nine points on seven goals and two assists in nine games. The Foxboro, Mass. native also finished third on the team with 19 draw controls, nine ground balls and four caused turnovers. She had a hat trick in Richmond’s 19-13 win at VCU (April 16).
She made an immediate impact as a freshman in the shortened spring 2020 season, collecting 16 draw controls, 13 ground balls, scoring seven goals and tallied two assists to help the Spiders to a 7-0 record.
Before starting into her collegiate career, DiCenso won gold as a member of the US Lacrosse Women’s U19 Team at the 2019 World Lacrosse Championship. DiCenso proved to be a dominant force in the midfield, tallying seven goals and an assist through the tournament. She capped off an impressive performance with five draw controls, four ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers.
“We are very proud of Sophia and excited for her to have this incredible opportunity,” Richmond head women’s lacrosse coach Allison Kwolek said. “She approaches everything with a championship mentality and is a true competitor, giving her max effort every single moment on the field. We will all be cheering her on in June. “

One focus this year of the tournament is to provide a recruiting opportunity for players interested in continuing to play at the next level. All IWLCA coaches will have access to the game film. D2 and D3 coaches can attend the tournament live. With this in mind, US Lacrosse has ruled that committed players can not be rostered below the first team in any region. Committed players who fall in the evaluation process on our second team will be bumped to create opportunities for non-committed players this year. If a player commits after registering for tryouts, we ask that they make the regional chair aware of their commitment as soon as possible.
NOMINATION PROCESS:
Every Varsity high school coach will have the opportunity to nominate up to THREE field players and ONE goalkeeper from their program to attend MA/RI regional tryouts. Current Varsity players in grades 9-11 are eligible for nomination. In order to keep tryouts as competitive and fair as possible, we ask that coaches are selective when nominating and only send their top athletes who are ready to compete at the national stage. Nominations should be emailed to Anne Sheridan Quigley at [email protected].
Once you have decided who in your program to nominate, you will need to send them the tryout registration link. We have cut the number of tryout participants this year in order to maintain health and safety protocols so please encourage your athletes to register early. We can only accommodate 150 field players at tryouts this year.
**If there are players you want to nominate who can not attend the tryout due to extenuating circumstances (for example, boarding students at schools with strict campus policies, COVID exposure or COVID contraction), we will be accepting select online tryout applications. Please reach out to me if this is the case and I can provide further details.

However, the next day, the Russians suffered their first defeat at the World Cup.Throughout most of the meeting, our guys beat the Finnish team, three minutes before the end of regular time, the score was 3: 1 in favor of the Russian national team, but the end of the third period remained with the rival. Finnish hockey players were able to recoup and transfer the game into extra time, which did not reveal the winner. In the series of post-match throws, the Finns were more accurate. This season, the SKA striker broke Nikita Kucherov’s record in points in the MHL among players under 17 years old. Nikita’s achievement lasted for 11 years, until Michkov appeared, who surpassed all Kucherov’s records in this age category.

Matvey continued to dominate in the form of the Russian national team. Already in the first match of the tournament, Matvey scored a double and was noted for a luxurious power move against the overall striker of the US national team Charlie Stramel . In the match with the Finns, Michkov chalked up one assist, and in the meeting with the German team, our super junior began to work miracles. Already in the first shift of the second period, the Russian drew a masterpiece.Michkov circled behind someone else’s goal, lifted the puck onto the hook of the stick and threw it under the crossbar. Gorgeous lacrosse goal from Matvey!

After just seven minutes Michkov scored a double, having successfully read the puck’s rebound from the goalkeeper’s shield, pausing and throwing right on target. Matvey did not even think about what he had achieved. In addition, the Germans were outnumbered for five minutes. In the middle of the second period Ryan Bettahar had a very tough power technique against the forward of the Russian team Prokhor Poltapov .The referees appreciated the actions of the German and sent him to the locker room.
During the five-minute majority, the Russian hockey players organized the fourth goal of the match – and Michkov again became its author. It was not possible to push the nickle, but Matvey helped, who, after the selection, performed a gorgeous throw from under his feet – the puck was in the goal. The Russian forward scored a natural hat-trick in the World Cup match – and it took him only 15 minutes to complete everything. And that was not the end of the game.
The Germans could win back one goal after the shootout, but Roman Zap lost the face-to-face duel to Sergei Ivanov .In the final third, the Russians calmly brought matters to a victorious result. At the beginning of the third period, Michkov seemed to have scored again. Ilya Kvochko, who played the first match at the tournament, in the attack immediately dropped the pass to a penny, where Michkov pushed the puck into the goal out of the fight. For a long time, poker belonged to our super-junior in the protocol of the meeting, but then the organizers rewrote the goal to Kvochko, depriving Matvey of the fourth goal of the match.

A fly in the ointment for Leshchev’s coaching staff could be the fact that Ivanov did not manage to play “zero”. Five minutes before the end of checkmate , Connor Corte tore a shut-out to Sergey, but this could no longer be reflected at the end of the meeting. The final score was set by … yes, the same Michkov, who finished his poker in this match. The final score is 6: 1 in favor of the Russian national team.
Video review of the crushing victory of the Russian national team in the match with Germany at the junior World Cup 2021
The Russian national team scored six points and came out on top in the group, beating, at least for some time, the teams of Finland, the USA and the Czech Republic. However, in the second match of the game day, the United States and the Czech Republic were supposed to hold a face-to-face meeting, so Russia’s leadership in the group could not be protracted. In the final match of the group stage, the Russians will play with the Czech team. This meeting will take place on May 2, the beginning of the meeting – at 00:00 Moscow time.

Whom did you bring us? The USA and Canada teams scoff at the spectators of the 2021 IIHF World Championship
There are a couple of weeks left before the World Championship in Latvia, and the official line-ups for the tournament have not yet been announced.European teams are awaiting decisions from NHL clubs in order to get strong and good players for themselves, while North American national teams have once again decided to ignore the tournament.
It is difficult to describe the situation with the national teams of the USA and Canada in any other way. Yes, so far there are no official rosters for the tournament, but those players who have agreed to come to Latvia are unlikely to bring the audience (and they will only be on TV) a lot of joy and attention.
Metaratings.ru analyze the capabilities of Canada and the United States and sadly admits: we do not need such hockey.

The Squad of the USA Team for the 2021 World Hockey Championship
Let’s start with those you don’t know or have already forgotten about. The US squad reminded us of two great players. The first is 36-year-old striker Brian Boyle. The man is fighting, with character – you can’t argue with that. The only problem is that he hasn’t played for a whole year and it’s generally difficult to imagine what form such an age hockey player can be.He last appeared on the ice in an official match with Florida in August 2020. Since then, the tough veteran has not played and was waiting for his chance.
The second miracle, which was already found in Europe, is striker Justin Abdelkader. Last year, Detroit bought the 34-year-old player’s contract for 4. 2 million, after which the American went to play in Europe. He has 17 points (10 goals, 7 assists) in 22 appearances for Zug Switzerland this season. And this does not speak in the best way about the level of this championship.
Brian Boyle once played for Tampa
But there are also some invitations that are interesting for geeks. For example, one of the favorites for the next draft is 18-year-old striker Matthew Beniers, who spent the last season in the student NCAA for the University of Michigan (10 + 14 in 24 games). Even more unknown to the public is defenseman Matt Hellixon, who has been playing for New Jersey since this season and graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2020. Students were brought to the World Championship again – this is already a tradition that no one will refuse, and which we would like to study. Not inviting students, of course, but at least the YChM or MCHM participants.
The US defense is, of course, exemplary weak: Chris Wideman spent the last season in the KHL, Zach Jones was 20 years old, and he just made his NHL debut, 24-year-old Connor McKay is a former student and player of the Calgary farm club . ..

It is, of course, difficult to take such a gathering seriously. And the attack didn’t go very far. The only good news is the invitation of Jason Robertson, who, as you all already know, is Kirill Kaprizov’s main competitor for the prize for the best rookie of the season in the NHL.
Honestly, if this team wins medals, it will be a miracle. Although it’s too early for predictions, not all teams have officially announced their lineups yet.
The composition of the Canadian national team for the 2021 World Hockey Championship
Canada managed to hurry up and announce the preliminary composition for the tournament. It’s very interesting and at the same time offensive. Looking at the roster obliquely, you might think that the youth team will come to Latvia at the Maple Leaves: here Gabriel Vilardi and Jareth Anderson-Dolan (both from Los Angeles), Nicholas Bedin (Chicago), Kevin Bal ( New Jersey “), Liam Foody (Columbus), Maxim Comtois (Anaheim).
They even called in a few guys who had never played in the NHL at all: this is a student of the University of Michigan and the favorite of the 2021 draft defender Owen Power, as well as Winnipeg forward Cole Perfetti, who is about, but not now, making his debut for the Jets “.
Such a composition of Canada would be ideal for the Eurotour, although it will look organic at the upcoming tournament in Latvia. There are no big stars, hockey players are invited to the team, from whom they expect development in the future, or who got their chance for a cool performance this season. For example, Michael Bunting from Arizona. The 25-year-old has never played in the NHL and had only 5 league appearances until this season. This year he has shown his talent as a sniper and has shot 10 goals in 21 games.
Yes, this team also has experienced Adam Henrik, cool Calgary forwards Dillon Dubet and Andrew Mangypan, but it really hurts that even Canada has not brought real stars to the World Cup. It seems like nobody really needs it.
On the other hand, if we take into account that it is more like the world stage of the Eurotour, while it is one of the strongest and most even teams in the tournament. You can really forget about the stars, they will not be there. We play with those who have been scraped along the bottom of the locker rooms.
The Russian national team has problems with the composition before the World Cup.Shipachev will not play, top goalkeepers will not come
Provorov will still play for Russia at the 2021 World Cup. Ivan is a real star, but alone will not lead to gold
So far, our team at the Czech Games is somewhat similar to the Canadian one. We have a couple of more or less experienced leaders, there are young players who, I hope, will still make it to the championship. Apparently, on paper, Canada and I will remain the main favorites of the tournament.
But, damn it, how annoying it is every year for who you bring us here.Apparently, the matches of the Canadian national team will have to be included exclusively for the sake of the young Power.
Shipachev wished good luck to the Russian national team at the World Championships in Latvia
Yakovlev will be the new captain of the Russian national ice hockey team
The Russian national ice hockey team announced the squad for the Czech Games
“To play not for yourself, but for the homeland”: How the hockey player of the Russian national team Panarin turned from a brawler into the main patriot
Hardly anyone would argue that Artemy Panarin is one of the brightest Russian hockey players of our time. With an average salary of $ 11.6 million a year, he tops the list of our most valuable players in NHL history. The striker is rightfully the vice-captain of the New York Rangers and one of the leaders of the most popular team.
Panarin did not make it to the top three players already included in the Russian national team at the Beijing Olympics – it included the captain of the Washington Capitals Alexander Ovechkin and the Tampa Bay Lightning players Andrei Vasilevsky and Nikita Kucherov. But Artemy met with the head coach of the national team Alexei Zhamnov, his assistant Sergei Gonchar and manager for work with NHL players Ilya Kovalchuk. The team’s headquarters expressed interest in Panarin.
– It was reported that you need to play not for yourself, but for your homeland. So that everyone, regardless of their position in the team, does their job one hundred percent. There should not be a situation in which an NHL player comes thinking about individual statistics – goals and assists. Yes, winning the Olympics is every hockey player’s dream, but I try to think less about Beijing. I don’t want to burn out. I play better when I approach tournaments and matches with a cool head. And I play for the country, therefore the responsibility is completely different, – Panarin himself spoke about the meeting with the representatives of the national team.
It is unacceptable to insult Russia
The Russian is also trying to defend the honor of our country on American hockey rinks. At the end of a recent match against the Boston Bruins, he had a hard fight with Canada striker Brad Marchand while the players were on their teams’ benches. During the skirmish, Panarin threw a gaiter (hockey glove) at the opponent. As a result, both were removed for ten minutes, and the Russian was also fined five thousand dollars.

Marchand, for whom the reputation of a provocateur has long been entrenched , after the game he joked that he and Panarin did not agree on what food should be eaten for Thanksgiving. At the same time, the vice-captain of the Rangers claims that he could not restrain himself after the offensive words of the opponent about Russia.
– Of course, I did not start this conflict. Of course, he also heard a lot of unpleasant things from me, but this is completely different. It is unacceptable to insult our country. I think that all Russians in my place would have acted in a similar way, – Panarin explained his behavior.
Pay tribute to Panarin. He did not stoop to the level of a Canadian and did not begin to answer him with the same coin, insulting the Country of the Maple Leaf.In a different situation, not only a gaiter would fly to Marchand, but also something else heavier. Surprisingly, the NHL fined only the Russian as a result of the incident, and the behavior of his opponent was considered acceptable.
The good news is that justice eventually prevailed on the ice. The meeting ended with a convincing victory, “Rangers” over “Boston” with a score of 5: 2. Panarin became the author of the decisive puck and was recognized as the second star of the match. In the list of the best players, he lost only to his compatriot Igor Shestyorkin, who shone at the gates of the club from New York.
After the match, Match TV presenter and commentator Dmitry Guberniev launched the hashtag #fromRussiawithGlove on social networks (from Russia with a glove).
– Let’s support our athlete! Panarin threw down the glove, but we won’t throw him! – said the journalist.
Not long ago Panarin was on the other side
It is clear that our parents taught us that it is not good to fight, but every Russian is obliged to defend the homeland. In general, Artemy’s recent statements can be assessed as very wise words of a truly adult person. The question is, what is so strange and unusual about this? In fact, such speeches are characteristic of anyone, but not Panarin. In recent years, he has established himself as the main troublemaker in Russian hockey. It was hard to imagine that the 30-year-old striker could speak publicly about his responsibility to the country.
Suffice it to recall that in July 2019, in an interview, Panarin harshly criticized the Russian authorities. After this controversial statement, Panarin lost a large number of fans who did not support his opposition views.Commenting on the attacker’s words, almost all experts said that everyone has the right to their opinion, but it is rather strange to criticize the authorities of a country in which you have not lived for a long time, and come to it only on vacation.
Loud accusations of Nazarov
In February 2020, the current coach of Sochi Andrei Nazarov said that in December 2011 Panarin allegedly hit an 18-year-old Latvian citizen several times after the match of Vityaz near Moscow in the KHL regular championship.According to him, the attacker was threatened with imprisonment in the Baltic country, and he managed to avoid punishment only thanks to the help from the “authoritative residents of Riga.” It must be said that Nazarov was the head of Vityaz at that moment, and his words were taken very seriously, despite the fact that no confirmation from other sources could be obtained.
The NHL then supported the Russian, and the club and the hockey player’s agent rejected the accusations against him. True, because of the current situation, Panarin was still removed from the Rangers, and he missed eight matches of the regular season.Time passed, the striker returned to the site without really explaining anything, and the active discussion of the accusations against him stopped. Nevertheless, there were serious doubts that the forward, who won three medals at the world championships in the Russian national team, would ever play for the national team.
– People who love, respect and value their country should compete for the Russian national team. And most importantly, they are true to all their principles. I think that Artemy’s brains are a little different. He is not yet American, but I think that he is no longer Russian. Everything that he said on the Internet and in the press is probably not very attractive to a person who will defend the colors of the Russian flag with dignity, – the former head coach of our national team Vladimir Plyushchev expressed his opinion.
At this moment Panarin, apparently, realized that everything was not going quite as he had planned. He stopped commenting on political events and began posting videos from his native Korkin, Chelyabinsk region, on social networks. Thus, he showed that he was an ordinary guy from the Urals, and not a drunken millionaire from the United States. His relationship with Nazarov has also clearly improved.
– Panarin is a world-class player. Of course, he achieved great heights, and I helped him in this. If we have a misunderstanding, then we ourselves will sort it out and talk about it. What was in the past remains in the past, – the coach said recently.
Panarin started this season in the NHL regular season not very well.In his first seven games, he scored just four points, scoring one goal and making three assists. However, in the future, the attacker managed to reach the usual level. He now tops the Rangers’ list of top scorers with 21 points and is in the top 20 for this indicator in the entire league.
We all remember very well that in the 2019/20 season Artemy entered the top three NHL players at the end of the regular season, and in the list of top scorers he lost only to the superstars of the Edmonton Oilers club Connor McDavid and Leon Dreizeitl.Such a Panarin is very much needed by the Russian national team at the Olympics. There is reason to believe that the forward has rethought his behavior and took up his mind. Now all his troubles should remain in the past.

Ex-doctor of the US national team sentenced to 175 years for molesting gymnasts

Larry Nassar tried to convince the judge that the charges against him were fabricated
Former doctor US National Gymnastics Team Larry Nassar was sentenced to 175 years in prison for sexual harassment of female athletes. The Michigan State Court heard testimony from 156 of his victims.
The judge rejected Nassar’s attempt to apologize for what he had done, calling him insincere, and added that he would now spend the rest of his life in prison.
Nassar pleaded guilty to sexual harassment of 10 gymnasts, including members of the Olympic team.
Previously, the 54-year-old doctor had already been sentenced to 60 years in federal court for possession of child pornography.
During the announcement of the verdict, Judge Rosemary Akilina told Nassar: “Just as it was an honor for me to hear the testimony of my sisters who survived the abuse, I have the honor and privilege of passing judgment on you. You, sir, do not deserve to ever again be free. ”
“You never realized what exactly you did. I would not even let you look after my dogs,” said the judge, sentencing the former doctor.
“I just signed an order to carry out your death sentence,” the judge concluded.
Prior to the announcement of the punishment, the court for seven days listened to testimonies from the victims of Nassar, sometimes very emotional. Some of them said that they forgive their offender.
Then he was given the opportunity to appear before the court.
“My feelings are nothing like the pain, trauma and emotional devastation that all of you feel,” he said to the victims of his actions gathered in the courtroom and their families.
“There are no words that can describe how deeply I regret what happened,” he added, asking forgiveness from his victims.
Courtroom report
Rajini Vaidyanathan , BBC Lansing, Michigan
Surprisingly similar testimonies from victims were heard in court for seven days. The former US team doctor summoned girls and women for therapy, but instead of helping them with physical pain, he robbed them of their innocence.
Some were so young that only years later they realized that they had been abused.
Larry Nassar, dressed in prison uniform, was sitting just a few meters away from the women testifying, each of whom looked into his face and told what he had done to her.
Although the words in the court were terrifying, they also give cause for hope. It is usually extremely difficult for victims of sexual assault to talk about what happened, especially in front of the perpetrator.
Judge Rosemary Akilina then reported that after Nassar pleaded guilty, he wrote her a letter claiming that the women had fabricated charges against him in the hopes of earning money and fame.
Those present in the court literally opened their mouths in amazement when the judge read aloud a part of this letter, in which Nassar claims that he was tricked into incriminating himself.
“I was a good doctor and had good results, and the patients who now oppose me are the same people who praised me before and returned to the procedures again and again,” wrote Nassar.
“Even devils in the underworld do not have such rage as a rejected woman,” the ex-doctor recalled an English winged expression.
After the judge announced the punishment, those present in the courtroom stood up and gave a standing ovation.

Olympic champions Ali Raisman and Jordin Weber were among those who testified against Larry Nassar.
Olympians McKayla Maroney, Gabby Douglas and Simone Biles also spoke of Nassar’s harassment.
In 2015, the US Gymnastics Federation, without publicizing the case, stopped working with Larry Nassar due to complaints about his professional qualities.
Nassar also worked at the University of Michigan. In 2014, according to the results of the audit, the university suspended cooperation with him for three months.
However, he continued to see patients until 2016, when he was publicly accused of lecherous acts by the Indianapolis Star newspaper. Later that year, he was arrested and charged with sexual contact with minors.
A year later, he was found guilty of storing child pornography on his computer.

Rachel Denholander, one of the first women to publicly accuse Nassar of indecent behavior, also expressed her outrage at the behavior of the University of Michigan administration …
“What is the value of a little girl? What is the value of a girl?” Denholander asked rhetorically when she described what happened to her when she was 15 years old.
“No one believed me because no one wanted to listen to me,” she added, saying that some of the girls complained to the university administration, but were dismissed from them.
“Victims were gagged, intimidated, told they were undergoing medical procedures and were sometimes sent back to see Dr. Nassar to be harassed again. This is what happens when there is a culture of sexual predation in organizations goes unpunished, “said Denholander, now a lawyer.

According to Rachel Denholander, the psychological trauma inflicted on her cast a horrifying shadow on her relationship with the nursing staff when she gave birth to her three children. Two of her children are girls.
On Tuesday, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) announced that it will conduct an independent investigation into the scandal to understand how this behavior of Larry Nassar could have continued for so long.
A few hours after Nassar was sentenced, the Michigan House of Representatives overwhelmingly approved a resolution urging the head of the University of Michigan to step down.
“We have lost confidence in Principal Lou Anna Simon’s ability to lead a transparent investigation, implement changes that will ensure this never happens again, protect students and lead Michigan State University into the future,” reads the resolution.
On Wednesday evening, it became known that Lou Anna Simon had announced her retirement from the rector’s position.

Former US gymnastics team physician Larry Nassar was sentenced to up to 175 years in prison for numerous cases of sexual harassment and abuse of underage team members.
Judge Rosemary Aquilina, when announcing the verdict, called him mortal. “I wouldn’t even send my dog to you. I just signed your death warrant. You don’t deserve to ever get out of jail.
