Kentucky has several 4-H Camps serving various regions in the state. Each camp can accommodate a number of campers over specific weekends (designated by county of residence) throughout the summer. Camp Bernheim
Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest – just 20 minutes south of Louisville – is hosting four one-week camp sessions for students ages 6-12 who want to have some adventure this summer. These camps are day camps that run from 9am to 4pm Monday through Friday. The sessions they have available are:

The Center for Courageous Kids Summer Camp
The Center For Courageous Kids is a not-for-profit Medical Camping Facility that was created to provide a place where medically fragile kids and their families could come free of charge and have fun, find respite, feel normal and forget about their everyday struggles. The camp occupies a 168 acre farm in Scottsville, KY and continues to change the lives of thousands of kids each year. The 2020 Summer camp schedule includes camps for kids with diabetes, autism, epilepsy, transverse myelitis, cancer, and many other illnesses. LEXINGTON, Ky. – Following a one-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Kentucky men’s basketball camps – presented by White, Greer and Maggard Orthodontics – will return for the 2021 summer.
This year’s slate will feature the popular Father-Son, Father-Daughter, Satellite and Three-Day Camp Cal camps. Camp season will begin June 1 with multiple options for kids of all ages to attend and learn from John Calipari and his staff, including new staff additions, associate coach Orlando Antigua and assistant coach Chin Coleman.

GENERAL CAMP INFORMATION FOR ALL CAMPS
Registration for all camps is open. A limited number of spots for all camps are available and based on a first-come, first-served basis with online registration recommended as the fastest and most efficient form of registering campers. After a summer without camps last year, spots are expected to fill up quickly this year.
Due to COVID-19 healthy and safety protocols, there will be no on-campus housing option this summer. For those who need lodging to attend camp, below is a list of hotels around campus that are easily accessible before and after camp.

Excluding the Satellite Camps, all camps will be held on the University of Kentucky campus and feature UK’s upgraded facilities. Certified athletic trainers will be stationed at each site throughout the duration of the camp, along with UK basketball staff members to accommodate any questions or concerns. It is UK’s goal to ensure a safe and fun environment, which provides all campers the opportunity to maximize their Kentucky basketball experience.
Once a camper’s registration is complete, the camper will receive a confirmation email with details of necessary documents needed (physical, insurance), along with a list of items campers will need to bring for camp. COVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS FOR ALL CAMPS
There will be changes this year to ensure a safe and healthy environment during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Campers and parental guardians will be required to wear masks or face coverings while checking in. Campers will be allowed to remove their mask/face covering during camp activities but any parents/supervisors remaining in the gym for Satellite Camps or the Three-Day Camp Cal will be required to keep their mask/face covering on. Only one family member will be permitted to stay with their camper if he/she chooses to do so for those two camps. Social distancing will be encouraged.
Masks/face coverings should cover the mouth and nose, fit snugly but comfortably, and be secured with ties or ear loops. The masks/face coverings should be made of multiple layers of fabric or medical grade disposable material, allow for breathing without restriction, and must be able to be laundered and machine dried without damage or change to shape. Gaiters made of two-ply material are acceptable. Face shields do not replace wearing a mask. If spectators are unable to wear masks, they are encouraged not to attend camps for the sake of their health and the health of others.
All Kentucky men’s basketball camp staff will wear masks/face coverings throughout camp. Social distancing will be practiced for every camp as instruction allows.
If a camp is canceled due to COVID-19, participants will be contacted with the option to either transfer to a future camp (if available) or be issued a full refund. If a portion of the camp is canceled due to COVID-19, participants will be refunded based on the percentage of camp that was not completed. Parents and guardians are highly encouraged to review all COVID-19 safety protocols and cancellation/refund policies here.
The first John Calipari Father-Son Camp – presented by White, Greer and Maggard Orthodontics – is scheduled for June 11-12, the second session will be June 18-19 (on Father’s Day weekend) and the third session will be June 25-26.
Traditionally UK’s most popular camp, father and son participants will be treated to instruction from the Kentucky coaches and staff, along with current available Wildcat players through detailed skill work and competitions in the Joe Craft Center, Memorial Coliseum and the Seaton Center. Father and son teams will compete with fellow campers of appropriate age groups (based on son’s age/grade level) in competitions that incorporate skills learned throughout the camp. The skill work is designed to give both father and son drills and techniques to take home and continue working on together.
The Father/Son Camp is open to all fathers and sons ages 7-17, regardless of previous basketball experience. The cost of each camp is $320 for a father-son duo ($160 per camper) and includes:
- Three meals (including dinner on Friday during registration, breakfast snack and sandwiches after dismissal)
- Camp T-shirt
- Two sessions of instruction and competition
- Photo and autograph opportunities with UK staff and players
Check-in for the Father-Son Camps will be from 3-5:30 p.m. on the Friday of each session. Camp registration will be held inside Memorial Coliseum, located at 201 Avenue of Champions. All camp facilities, including, dining, parking and gyms, will be clearly marked with signs once parents and campers enter any of the University of Kentucky campus entrances. For those who may miss the scheduled registration, UK will have staff members available after camp activities begin to complete your check-in.
Camp activities are set to begin at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and will end on the first day at 9 p.m. Camp starts back up at 8:30 a.m. on each Saturday and will conclude with closing ceremonies in Memorial Coliseum on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Each camper will be provided with a box lunch upon departure Saturday. Complete camp itineraries will be emailed to parents or guardians prior to the start of camp.
Non-COVID-related cancellation policy: The $100 deposit is non-refundable except in the case of injury, illness or a mandatory school event. If a cancellation is made for any other reason, tuition will be refunded less the $100 deposit if the cancellation is made before the first day of camp. Once the camp session has begun there will be no refunds, except in the case of injury or illness. This includes the cancellation of practices due to severe weather. The convenience fee associated with online registration is non-refundable.
After an incredible demand and response for the inaugural John Calipari Father-Daughter Camp in 2019, UK has brought it back and added an extra opportunity. This year’s Father-Daughter sessions – presented by White, Greer and Maggard Orthodontics – will be June 12-13 and June 19-20. Both camps will begin at 5:30 p.m. and conclude at 9 p.m. on Saturday nights and pick back up on Sunday at 8:30 a.m. and conclude the session at 1 p.m.

Check-in for the Father-Daughter Camps will be from 3-5:30 p.m. on the Saturday of each session. Camp registration will be held inside Memorial Coliseum, located at 201 Avenue of Champions. All camp facilities, including, dining, parking and gyms, will be clearly marked with signs once parents and campers enter any of the University of Kentucky campus entrances. For those who may miss the scheduled registration, UK will have staff members available after camp activities begin to complete your check-in.
Camp activities are set to begin at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday and will end on the first day at 9 p.m. Camp starts back up at 8:30 a.m. on each Sunday and will conclude with closing ceremonies in Memorial Coliseum on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Each camper will be provided with a box lunch upon departure Sunday. Complete camp itineraries will be emailed to parents or guardians prior to the start of camp.
Non-COVID-related cancellation policy: The $100 deposit is non-refundable except in the case of injury, illness or mandatory school event. If a cancellation is made for any other reason, tuition will be refunded less the $100 deposit if the cancellation is made before the first day of camp. Once the camp session has begun there will be no refunds, except in the case of injury or illness. This includes the cancellation of practices due to severe weather. The convenience fee associated with online registration is non-refundable.
The first Three-Day Camp Cal is scheduled for June 14-16 and the second session will be June 28-30. Both camps are open to boys ages 7-17.
The Three-Day Camp Cal – presented by White, Greer and Maggard Orthodontics – offers three days of skill training, team games, individual competitions and a division tournament. Campers will be pre-assigned to appropriate age/grade level divisions in which all skill work, competitions and games will take place. Skill work will be taught by UK coaches and staff, along with current available Wildcat players. Each camper will be assigned a team within their respective age groups. Complete camp itineraries, gym schedules, and day camper drop-off and pick-up information will be included in the confirmation email sent to parents or guardians prior to the start of camp.
The cost of each camp is $350 and includes:
- Breakfast snack and lunch on all three days
- Supervised drop-off (7:30 a.m.) and pick-up (5:30 p.m.) every day of camp
- Three days of instruction, competitions and team play

This season’s tour includes 10 stops throughout the Bluegrass State. The Wildcats will branch out away from Lexington (within a 100-mile radius of campus, per NCAA rules) to bring hands-on skill instruction to the state’s youth.
The camps – presented by White, Greer and Maggard Orthodontics – offer the unique opportunity for Kentucky basketball fans to learn from and interact with Calipari, the UK coaching staff and available Kentucky players. The camps allow participants to learn the game of basketball through a fundamental, intensive learning environment. They will also give individuals the chance to learn more about the game, including introducing drills that can be used at home.
All camps are open to both boys and girls ages 7 to 17. A limited number of spots are available for all camps and are based on a first-come, first-served basis.
The cost of each camp is $99 and includes:

NCAA rules prohibit payment of camp expenses (camp tuition, transportation, spending money, etc.) for prospects (seventh grade and above) by University of Kentucky donors. For men’s basketball, a prospect is an individual who has started classes for the seventh grade. NCAA rules also prohibit free or reduced camp admissions for prospects. We have been asked to start a new week of church camp at West Kentucky Youth Camp located near Marion, Kentucky. We have agreed to this new ministry. I have never directed a youth camp week, but have enjoyed camp and believe it is a great way to build faith in young people. This camp will be unique in that it will be focused on homeschool youth. The camp will be open to others if it works out for their schedule, but the camp will be in August after most schools have started.
Here is what you need to know if you have an interest:
- The camp will be like a a traditional youth camp experience. It is not a family encampment, but a church camp. The WKYC was founded by Churches of Christ and is supported by churches across the region.
- The camp will be focused on youth 8 years through 18. However, we will likely have some organized activities for younger children if there is a need.
- The proposed dates for 2016 are either August 11-14 (Thursday – Sunday) or August 8-12 (Sunday – Friday).
- There will be a cost per youth attending. We are exploring options for families with multiple children.
- We need a great team of staff members to make this happen!! If you would like to help work with the camp please fill out this application online. We would like to form a steering committee with coordinators for Bible teaching, food, crafts, activities, and counselor director. I hope to have the committee in place by the first of the year.
- For the first year, we are looking at doing the camp Thursday night through Sunday. We will discuss options with the steering committee about doing a traditional Sunday – Friday schedule. We welcome your input.
- We need to get the word out about the camp. We will need to have enough youth participating to justify the cost of the camp.

Joseph Howard Rundles Sr., 69, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at Danville Regional Medical Center in Danville, Virginia. Born January 15, 1944, he was the son of the late Gilbert Rundles Sr. and Ruby (Wallace) Rundles. He was married to Daisy Belle Harris-Rundles, who survives. He was of the Pentecostal and Baptist faith and was a retired ironworker. In addition, he is survived by one son Kenneth Joe (Lisa) Rundles of Lovelaceville, KY, one daughter Tina May Rundles (Bryan) Klein of Wickliffe, KY: two brothers, Gilbert Rundles Jr. of East Prairie, MO. and Thomas Rundles of Florida. Dance
Toddler, Tiaras, Tutus & Tumbling
Curriculum is designed to expose this age group to basic floor tumbling (front rolls, bridges, cartwheels, low balance beam, hand/eye coordination games with bean bags, bubbles, etc,) following 1 and 2 step directions and developing listening skills. The tumbling segment covers the first 5 weeks of class. The remainder of the session is devoted to creative movement and basic ballet center, movement across the floor and routine preparation for Spring Recital. Beginner ballet terms are introduced to this age level. Student will need pink ballet shoes, pink tights and leotards. Pink Ballet skirts may be worn in dance segment only. Regular gym shoes will be worn during the tumbling segment. Hair must be in a ponytail or bun. Students enrolled in the winter session will perform in the Spring Recital.

This class introduces young male students to the fundamentals of dance in a nurturing, all-boys classroom setting. Hip-Hop
Hip Hop is street dance culture infused with jazz favor. It has fast paced movements, balance based stunts, turns, and incorporates some Pop and Lock (unusual movements where body movements are isolated, accented, quick pulses, or held). This dance movement is constantly changing and many trends may be combined. The Hip Hop dance trend is loose so everyone can develop their own style and movements. Winter session also incorporates routine preparation for the Spring Recital. Students may wear hip hop clothes of choice and gym shoes. Hair must be in a ponytail or bun. This class is only available for the Jr. and Sr. Accelerated classes. It is designed for the more serious dance student. Curriculum is designed to strengthen toes, feet, ankles, legs and center core (upper body). Pointe’ takes serious practice as well as ballet technique classes. Since students develop at different rates, going on Pointe’ is decided by the Ballet instructor and studio director. It may take several years of this class before a student is ready to actually go on Pointe’. Patience, dedication, and practice are required. Students will need pink ballet shoes, ballet pink convertible tights, and black tank leotards. Ballet skirts may be worn, teacher preference. Students will need tennis balls and therabands. Hair MUST be in a bun, required attire MUST be worn in class. Pointe’ shoes will need teacher approval. Students enrolled in the winter session will perform in the Spring Recital.

Thriller Zombie Dance School
The Cost of the Thriller Dance Session is $10 for Zombies 10 years of age and younger and $15 for Zombies 11 years and older.
Zombies under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Current PRDG participants are free. Parents of PRDG participants pay $5. Thriller Zombie Dance School is typically held starting in September to prepare for the Thrilled To Give event downtown in October.

Mommy & Me KinderGym
This is a parent participation class. The Parent will be working with their child the entire class period. This is a fun and constructive class, designed to introduce a child to tumbling. Activities are focused on small and large motor skill development, hand-eye coordination, and basic tumbling (Balance beam, mat skills, songs, parachute, small hand manipulative, and more). This is a fun class for the parent as well as the student. This class may perform in our Gymnastics Recitals. Participation is optional for 2 & 3 year olds.

KinderGym

These students are not beginners but have not acquired the skills to be considered advanced. Students will need required gymnastics leotard & shorts, they will be ordered at registration. Gymnastics Advanced
Ability based. Students must have mastered a backward roll, back kick-over or back walkover, hold handstand with spotter and running round-off with correct punch (rebound) to advance to this level. Will work on conditioning, stretching, back-overs, standing back handspring, running round-off-back handspring. This class meets once a week so conditioning and practicing at home is a must for skill mastery. Students will need required gymnastics leotard & shorts, they will be ordered at registration. No shoes are worn in this class. Hair must be in a ponytail. Students enrolled in the winter session will perform in the Spring Gymnastics Recital.

There is a monthly payment plan available. Monthly payment plans have to be enrolled at the Pavilion.
Scholarship Information:
Only partial scholarships are offered for Dance and Gymnastics. Scholarships applications are available at the Pavilion and must be completed every six months and BEFORE registering for any of our classes. Scholarships do not cover registration or costume fees. Poor class attendance may result in loss of a scholarship.
Class Cancellation Policy:
If Scott County Schools are cancelled, we will assess the conditions by Noon. Dance and Gymnastic class cancellations or delays will be posted on Channels 18, 27, and 36. and at prdanceandgym.webs.com.
Youth Camp Sailor
Accommodation: 1, 2 and 3-storey brick buildings. Children are accommodated in rooms with private facilities for a block (2 + 3) and 4-bed rooms with private facilities. Showers and toilets are located on the block or in the room. All rooms with balconies. Meals 5 times a day, rational, balanced, taking into account the observance of daily nutritional norms and the age of children. On the territory: a shop, a library, a playground, a minifootball court, a volleyball court, table tennis tables, a video salon, a summer theater and a dance floor. Beach: pebble (more than 200m), refers to the camp territory, large and, due to the distance from settlements, cozy and quiet. The beach is equipped with a rescue station, awnings, showers, changing rooms. The camp has a professional teaching staff.During the shift, cultural and sports events, discos are held. Animators and physical trainers work. |

In one of the most beautiful places of the Luga region in a pine forest there is a children’s health camp “Youth”.
Every vacation the children’s camp “Youth” takes children and adolescents from 6 to 16 years old. The children love the picturesque nature, the large and friendly team, the varied program and the sincere atmosphere of the camp. Many children return to “Molodezhny” from year to year, and for some during their childhood the camp has become a second home.
Daily events: concerts, rehearsals, outdoor games, creative workshops, communication clubs, patriotic spirit, new acquaintances and strong friendship – all this unites the guys from Molodyozhny.
Comprehensive program of recreation, health improvement and development of children and youth
The concept of the development of the youth camp is developed and is aimed at the development of “soft” and “hard” skills in children in the field of human-to-human activities.
The focus of the first shift was the development of teamwork skills.
To realize the goal of the program, participants took a triple rope course to track changes within teamwork, a leadership course to explore the possibilities of different roles of participants, and could try themselves in social projects.
The peculiarity of the first shift is the participation of teenagers from 12 years old in the project of the social theater “Sychevalnya”, which is annually held on the new stage of the Alexandrinsky Theater.
Accompanied by professionals, the guys create play and theatrical projects on shift, telling about the problems modern adolescents have to face.
Social theater is a platform where performances are staged on acute social topics that are relevant to young people.Social theater is also a form of prevention of antisocial behavior.
Through participation in such a project, participants can talk about their problems, giving them a theatrical form. This allows the audience to be imbued with their stories, and gives the children the opportunity to be heard. The guys showed their theatrical projects at the end of the shift. We are waiting for them on the stage of the Alexandrinsky Theater.
The rest of the summer also has a vector of development of “soft” and “hard” skills in the field of human-to-human activities
For example, the second shift is aimed at making choices and understanding yourself and your path.On the shift, the guys will take part in events that will put the participants in a situation of choice, they will have the opportunity to choose classes in different directions, in accordance with their interests and goals.
Also in the camp one of the new directions of the camp will be implemented – tourism. To this end, specialized tourism sessions are planned for shifts, in which interested participants will be able to learn important primary skills.
Living conditions:
Well-maintained two-storey brick buildings.Rooms for 4 people. Each room has modern roomy wardrobes, bedside tables for each resident. The buildings are heated by the camp boiler room. For relaxation, communication, party events and creative activities, on each floor there are spacious, bright halls with the necessary equipment (tables, chairs, TV, a cooler with hot and cold drinking water). Rooms and halls are cleaned daily with wet and dry cleaning.
The camp has a medical center with two isolation wards for somatic and infectious diseases.
Power:
In a spacious dining room with two halls, 5 meals a day are organized in one shift: breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, supper, second supper.
A well-coordinated team of chefs prepares meals using modern kitchen equipment. Employees of the canteen DOL “Molodezhny” provide high-quality balanced nutrition and a varied menu, which contains a complex of useful vitamins for a growing body.
