The NSLC high school program on Forensic Science uses an interactive approach to learning that gives you an opportunity to immerse yourself in the challenging complexities of crime scene investigation. The London School of Economics claims that this summer school will be the largest in all of London. Last year, 4,500 students participated in it. Within three weeks, participants can gain knowledge in the field of accounting, finance, law, economics, international relations, government, social sciences and management. The course program is designed in accordance with the standard requirements of a bachelor’s degree. Classes will be held in the main building of the university. By today, all places on campus have already been booked, but there is still an opportunity to find accommodation in London on your own. The lecturers are leading university professors, scientists and members of the UK government.
European Media Class in Prague
Where: Czech Republic, Prague.
When: seven days and nights in June-July 2012.
Cost: 710 euros.
Deadline: 4 May.
The intensive course, according to the organizers, is specially designed to help students understand the intricacies of the media business. The participants will spend seven days in Prague, during which they will work in creative laboratories, visit the Barrandov Studio and prepare the Made in Prague project. Creative laboratories for participants will be held by representatives of the leading European media: BBC, Euronews, Deutsche Welle, Radio Liberty, The Times, Barrandov studio, AFP, as well as Russian specialists. Rob Cameron (Rob Cameron, BBC New York University), Jean Flemr (AFP Agence France Press), Martin Mahdal (Martin Mahdal, Barrandov studio, TV, director), Garik Avanesyan (Chief Editor of the European magazine ” PhotoArt”). Judging by the schedule of the program, the organizers are not going to delve into theory: for example, a Work and Drink trip is planned – tasting and filming of beer production.

One of the most prestigious universities in the United States annually organizes an extensive summer program for both American and international students. The topics of the courses are diverse, in total about three hundred are available: from literary creativity and the basics of music to neurobiology and macroeconomics. The course schedule is not too busy: usually classes are held twice a week for several hours. You can live both on the campus of Harvard University and in any other place. Professors from two UK universities – the University of Aberdeen and Warwick University – will host a summer school in forensic science, law and psychology for international students who want to learn about the psychological methods that are used in investigations. The school plans to recruit students with various backgrounds in psychology, law, criminology, sociology in order to combine this knowledge and create an effective academic environment. Students of the school will have the opportunity not only to listen to lectures by professors from leading universities in Britain, but also to share their ideas with them. The organizers have also prepared an extensive cultural program – from excursions around Prague to a classical music concert in Rudolfinum Hall.
VI Russian Summer School on Information Retrieval

The goals of the Russian Summer School on Information Retrieval are to acquaint students with the whole range of modern problems and methods of information retrieval, draw the attention of students and young scientists to the tasks of information retrieval, and create a platform for informal communication between representatives of science, higher education and industry. This year, the school will focus on the tasks of multilingual information retrieval and machine translation. The school is designed for senior students, graduate students, young scientists, as well as developers with experience in creating information retrieval systems. The working language of the school is English, so participants must be proficient in it. A conference of young scientists is planned to be held within the framework of the school. The best papers based on the results of the conference will be published in the journal Modeling and Analysis of Information Systems, which is included in the list of the Higher Attestation Commission.

The Fulbright Program in Russia is hosting a second Summer School in STEM. The theme of the new school is “Green Technologies”. The summer school will be held from 20 to 30 June 2012 at Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University. The summer school program includes seminars and lectures, practical classes, laboratory workshops, field trips, discussions with the participation of Russian experts in the field of “green” technologies, as well as visiting scientists from the United States. The participants of the summer school will get acquainted with examples of the use of “green” technologies in various industries. All expenses for participation in the summer school are covered by the organizers.

The Helsinki Summer School is a three-week annual event organized by the Helsinki State Universities. One of the most interesting courses is on conceptual history. This short interdisciplinary course will help young researchers and professionals to look at the main concepts and milestones in the field of social sciences and humanities from a critical point of view. The course has two goals: first, it introduces participants to the main aspects of the theory and methodology of conceptual history, which they can use as a tool in their own research. Second, the course looks at current trends in conceptual history through case studies.

From June 15 to June 30, Skoblik completed an internship in Tomsk at the Law Institute of TSU at the Department of Criminal Procedure, Prosecutorial Supervision and Law Enforcement. He was present at the defense of candidate and doctoral dissertations, collected materials from the archives of the district courts of Tomsk for his Ph.D. research on the topic: “Informative decisions in the Russian criminal process.” The same scientific internship in Tomsk at TSU under the scientific guidance of Professor of the Department of Criminal Procedure and Forensic Science of the Law Institute of Siberian Federal University, Head of the Department of Criminal Procedure, Prosecutorial Supervision and Law Enforcement of the Law School of the Law Institute of TSU, Doctor of Law O.I. Andreeva was held in June this year. and senior lecturer of the department, head of the department of the Krasnoyarsk Rosgostekhregistration I.I. Pisarevsky. In preparation for the defense of his Ph.D. thesis, he wrote and published his scientific article in the VAK journal Vestnik TSU, and also sent another scientific article to the Russian Legal Journal (VAKovsky) for publication.
PhD in Law, Associate Professor of the Department of Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics A.A. Brester at the end of June of this year, at the invitation of the Russian Foundation “Public Verdict”, participated in Moscow as a trainer in a human rights seminar.
At the beginning of July this year A.D. Nazarov in the city of Vladivostok conducted a training session on the subject of provocations in operational-search and criminal procedure activities with judges and prosecutors of Primorye.
In the middle of July this year A.D. Nazarov and senior lecturer of the department, assistant prosecutor of the Soviet district of the city of Krasnoyarsk Yu.E. Reznikov with participants of the Territory of Initiative Youth BIRYUSA (primarily with law students of our Institute) held an interactive lesson on the features of the investigation and judicial review of criminal cases on environmental crimes.
Also in July of this year, A.D. Nazarov and Associate Professor of the Department, Ph.D. in Law, Associate Professor, Head of Grant Programs of the Law Institute of Siberian Federal University L.V. Mayorov at the invitation of a graduate of our department, acting head of the Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Kamchatka Territory, Colonel of Justice A.A. Pakhomenko (at one time – the first head of the department of investigative practice of the Law Institute of Siberian Federal University, deputy head of the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the Krasnoyarsk Territory) conducted advanced training courses for investigators and prosecutors of Kamchatka.
In August of this year, under the leadership of L.V. Maiorova and with the support of the Director of the Law Institute of the Siberian Federal University, Professor I.V. Shishko, as well as partners of our Siberian Federal University from the University of Passau (Germany), once again the International Summer School of Law for Russian and German students was held in Krasnoyarsk. PhD in Law, Associate Professor of the Department of Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics, Leading Specialist of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Ya.M. Ploshkina, within the framework of the program of this School, gave a lecture on the basics of Russian criminal law in German for German students, took an exam from them, gave them a tour of the Legislative Assembly (LA) of the region in German, organized a meeting with a deputy – chairman of the Commission of the LA of the region, Retired Major General A.P. Samkov, which she translated to students from Russian into German, and also translated the guide’s story from Russian into German during a walk along the Yenisei on the ship “Tovarishch”, when visiting the memorial museum complex of V.P. Astafyev in Ovsyanka and the Krasnoyarsk hydroelectric power station.
K.V. On August 2, Skoblik became the only SibFU finalist in the competition of research works in humanitarian areas within the framework of the III All-Russian Scientific Forum “Science of the Future – Science of the Young”.
