Summer Day Camp — Benton Farms, Benton Family Farm
Our Farm Camp offers educational, hands on fun for children of all ages. Kids choose an animal to “adopt” for the week, learn about and care for. At the end of the week, parents and loved ones are invited to our farm so the kids can present their animal (costume and all). Confidence grows with each new experience, some of which include learning how to ward of predators with a slingshot and paint balls, collect farm fresh eggs, shear sheep, learn how to fish, and so much more! Camp is enhanced with fun camp songs, obstacle courses, team building activities and more. Every day is a bit different but jam packed with fun! We book so quickly due to our campers coming year after year and then earning a Jr Counselor title and on to a being employed here at the farm as a Sr Counselor!. We are unique because your children are counseled by past campers who have a passion for animals and spending time on this farm. No week of camp can compare to the education, fun they will experience in a ratio of 1 to 6. It may be hard to believe but your child will say this has been the best week ever and write about it on their essay when back to school. Our goal is safety first and making it a very special week of their summer! Camp is designed for ages 6-12 years old. Our campers seem to love the farm….and we are blessed to see them grow up! They continue on as Junior Counselors(green shirts)when the child meets the camp requirements. In 2019 we started a CIT program (Counselor in Training) which is the final step to then being employed as a Sr Counselor! Our program is about fun, bonding with animals, growth and leadership and we love that our camp family embraces our tech and stress free “little piece of heaven” here in Walton Ky.

Burgundy Farm Country Day School
Those are just some of the strategies that we will employ this summer to keep our camp community safe and having fun. We will also be taking further steps such as smaller camp groups and extensive cleaning and disinfecting during and at the end of the camp day. To maintain these Covid-19 mitigation strategies, unfortunately, we cannot offer some of the service programs that we have in the past. These include: Before Camp Care, After Camp Care, AND Transportation (Bus Service).
To offer these programs, we would have to compromise many of the camp day strategies we are employing to keep everyone safe, and that is not a risk we are willing to take. We know that many of you rely on these programs, and may not attend camp without them, so we do not make this decision lightly and comes after careful consideration and thought. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may cause for some of you and hope that you understand the reasons behind our decision.
In an effort to offset some of the inconvenience of not offering these programs, we are extending the camp day to 4 PM. We hope that this extra hour of the camp is helpful to our families in the absence of After Camp Care. It will also allow us to spread out our swim sessions more throughout the camp day. And YES! Campers will still swim every day!!
Below you will find the dates for our Summer Camp sessions, and you can click on Our Programs at the top of this page to learn more about this year’s offered camps. We hope to see you this summer! With preparation and commitment, we are excited to offer Nature and Nurture all summer long.
Oh, and if your family is not yet ready to return to any in-person program, we understand. We will be offering a slightly smaller Summer BOP! (Burgundy Online Program) as well this year, and it may be that you find a virtual camp or two that is of interest. Whether you join us in person or virtually we hope that you all have a fantastic summer. We plan to!

90,000 Summer Camp, Farm, Theater: What German Children Do During Vacation | Culture and Lifestyle in Germany and Europe | DW
Education, like culture, in Germany is the prerogative of the federal states. And the holidays, although they are agreed upon, however, start at different times in each federal state. But all parents face one question: “What to do with the child?” It is especially acute during the summer holidays, which, on average, last six and a half weeks.
From the farm – to acquaintance with the husky
However, German parents have a choice today. After spending a week or two at sea with the child, they can organize an interesting pastime for him for the remaining weeks. Summer camps, in German “Ferienlager”, exist throughout the country. The organizers are schools themselves, church communities, sports societies, farmsteads, various voluntary associations, commercial structures … For example, ten days on a farm with an entertainment program, animal feeding, horse riding and so on will cost about 300 euros per child. You can ride a cart harnessed by Siberian huskies – even in summer – and learn more about this breed of dog. This will cost approximately 450 Euros per person. The price includes accommodation in a wooden house, excursions in the region, an entertainment program during the week.
However, not all parents are ready to send their children all overnight to a farm or camp located far from home. Moreover, various summer courses can be found in the city. True, a feature of urban summer camps is the high cost of parenting time, because the child must be brought (or brought) and taken away every day.For example, a week in a theater mastery course costs 60 euros. Two-hour classes are held every day. This is an introductory course. There are those who want to devote even three weeks of summer vacation to the theater. Classes are held every day for six hours, except Saturday and Sunday.
Such a course, for example, in Bonn costs 350 euros. Anja von der Lieth, a Bonn educator with 20 years of experience, teaches children acting at the Junges Theater Bonn. “Children love to dress up, try on different roles,” the teacher shares his experience.- The summer course is always intensive. Of course, the child must have an interest, otherwise it will be difficult for him to sit out for so long. But not all children should play on stage if the child is shy during classes. There are many other areas in the theater where you can try yourself. You can do the costumes, decorations or work on the script. “
Gretel with a smartphone
It’s hot in June outside. Hansel tries to call Gretel on his smartphone, but the answering machine turns on.The boy does not waste time and gets to know Little Red Riding Hood. Such a fairy tale is rehearsed in a modern way by children aged six to ten. Why are the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm so harsh in general, they ask their teacher.
“When children come to the theater, they become more relaxed, – Anja von der Leet says in an interview with DW. – The most humble get confidence when they go on stage.” What do the children themselves think? “It’s fun, I really enjoy coming to class,” says 8-year-old Robin. His 6-year-old friend Fan adds, “It’s better than just playing outside.”
A performance at the JTB theater with the participation of children
His sister Lan “takes a break from school and everyday life” at the theater. “You can always go to the pool on another day. True, the texts, of course, have to be learned by heart,” says the girl. For all the children from Ani von der Leet’s group, the theater has become not just a hobby, not just a pastime on summer vacations. “Almost a profession,” the children say seriously. Of course, it is still very far from the “profession”, but the holidays are in any case very interesting. The only pity is that it is fast.

A lot or a little?
Playgrounds in Germany are relatively few: they are not in every yard. There is no tradition in German cities to equip sites at every turn. But if there is a site, it is almost impossible to “recapture” it from the city for garages, shops or office buildings.Usually city sites are located in picturesque corners and among greenery.

Not a stencil
A large German city has between 600 and 800 city playgrounds. Some of them are real gems. The main feature of German venues is variety. There are no typical ones, most are individual in nature. Labyrinths, slides, gymnastic elements are most often made of wood. There are also miniature platforms like this one.

Trust, but check
All public playgrounds for children in Germany are monitored according to the unified European standard DIN EN 1176. Technical service experts inspect about 1,500 objects annually. At the same time, German experts still advise parents to sit on a swing first, and then swing children in them.

Ingenuity
Game elements can be very different.Such a “Trojan Horse” was installed in Ankershagen in front of the Heinrich Schliemann Museum. This self-taught archaeologist discovered ancient Troy and found the famous “Priam’s treasure”.

Children under 14 years old
And these rules are written in black and white on the signs that can be seen on each site: “Use under your responsibility. Parents are responsible for their children.” Most venues have age restrictions. As a rule, only children under 14 are allowed to play on the playgrounds. Dogs and other pets are not allowed!

Rules of the Game
Site inspection is carried out by TÜV Rheinland, an international concern, one of the world’s leading providers of independent audit services. The inspectors have prepared 10 “golden rules” for parents: report defects to TÜV Rheinland, independently monitor inventory, monitor cleanliness, report misuse, etc.

Best Inspector – Parent
The biggest problems in playgrounds are wear and tear of equipment, contamination and vandalism, and design errors. Even with proper checks in place, parents should always check slides and other items carefully before letting their children play.

Parent Challenge
Some playgrounds are not for the faint of heart. While the child is happy to master a complex structure, such as this one on the Rhine embankment, it is better for parents not to take their eyes off him!

Children’s Camp in Tuscany
An eventful idyll in the Italian countryside
© Children’s Camp in Tuscany
Looking at the photos of the past shifts of the children’s camp in Tuscany, you regret that you are not 10: the children live in an old house in a mountain village, learn ceramics and Italian cuisine from local artisans, explore medieval monasteries hidden from the tourist crowds, and just stroll through the sunny hills to a farm with horses. The project was created by the enthusiast of emigration and free from school education Lina Amlinskaya, who traveled with her family in almost every village in Tuscany.
Alla Pochtar, co-founder and organizer : “The camp program is structured the same as last year: days at home alternate with travel, but now we are adding a large component of independence in decision-making. Children talk a lot, draw and play, try to take responsibility. From entertainment – trips to the potter, to the place where the monk Guido lived, who invented the names of the notes – do, re, mi, etc.etc., art forging, quests in a 1000-year-old forest, evening performances, music lessons, a water park, horses, baking bread and so on. ”

Kamchatka
Journalists, actors, musicians and children learn beautiful things from each other
© Ksenia Plotnikova / Kamchatka
A reasonably vaunted campground set up by Philip Bakhtin, former Esquire editor-in-chief and now Afisha’s creative director. The camp is famous for its team of counselors: it is a dense community of journalists, musicians, actors and other people of creative professions. Everyone who has visited Kamchatka at least once, be it the editor-in-chief of a successful media outlet or a ten-year-old schoolboy, wants to return there more than anything else. Traditionally, every day in Kamchatka is dedicated to one lesson: you need to stage a play with socks on your hands, play a concert on a tree, play a musical about fears based on English poetry, or do something else crazy. This year, the camp will again take place on the Estonian island of Saaremaa, right by the sea. The program also includes lighthouse parties and whale watching.
Philip Bakhtin, creator, creative director of Afisha : “We have moved to a new place, to the Panga Cliff, which is one of the most beautiful places on the island of Saaremaa and in general in Estonia. We have a completely new program: we specifically decided not to carry out anything that has already happened. There are many shifts this year, so there are about 30 percent of the elderly, and there are many Russian children living abroad.Among the new counselors are actor Sasha Pal, actor and director Grigory Dobrygin, actress Ravshana Kurkova. London Gates Education Camp

The status center, which prepares schoolchildren for admission to leading British universities, organizes an annual camp on a farm in Latvia.Children are forbidden to use gadgets (you can call their parents, of course), everyone speaks English (more precisely, as the camp’s creators say, they “live” on it), transforming themselves into archaeologists, then into aeronautical engineers, or into primitive people and the first British settlers … They sleep in comfortable guest houses, eat homemade food from farm products. There are free seats in the first and second shift.
Maria Burnashova, Deputy General Director : “In the creative program from year to year in our camp, not a single day is repeated. This year there will be 13 most interesting days: a big role-playing game on the day of Ancient Rome, a journey through the human body on the day of anatomy, a day of sound, during which the guys will conduct many scientific experiments. ”

Young & Active
Children’s gathering in the Tver region
The Young & Active camp team are young and attractive enthusiasts with psychological education and experience in organizing children’s activities.Young & Active is a camp with a simple but well-developed style: a kind of Kinfolk for children – filled not only with the idea of contemplation and sincere communication, but also with live energy. There is only one squad in the shift, where children of different ages cosplay their favorite characters, learn to present themselves with the help of a homemade cardboard suit, ride downhill from soapy foam and paint hippie T-shirts. Importantly, Young & Active supports the Yang community outside of shifts, regularly meeting in Gorky Park and other places and organizing short-term trips – to Kolomna, to the ski park and many other places.
Darya Krylova, creator of : “This year we are expanding our sports activities – there is learning to play rugby and baseball, as well as bumperball – a ball game in giant inflatable spheres. We are moving on to new scales of creative workshops – we create a street cinema, we build furniture from pallets, we design real ships for the water battle of the Boat Tag War participants among themselves. During the year, we developed the bulk of the creative activities that await us, taking into account what teenagers dream of.Therefore, the events are copyrighted and such that will not be found in any other place – the seizure of territories based on well-known plots from films, board games revived, theatrical experiments, an online battle and much more. Every shift we will have several inspiring guests – self-defense lessons, motivational training, a master class in calligraphy and sketches, and something else. ”

Scientific Camp “Polytech”
Children’s laboratories of the museum in the art commune
In the second season of the “Polytech” camp, the previous changes of architects (construction of a tree house) and archaeologists (excavation of an ancient settlement) will remain, and new ones will be added. Biologists will turn wildlife observation into an interactive multimedia project, chemists will create new bills and coins, and forensic scientists will use evidence to solve a mysterious crime – all under the guidance of real experts in their respective fields.Among the counselors are entirely respected people: Deputy General Director of the Polytechnic Institute Ivan Bogantsev, singer, musician and composer Galya Chikis, archaeologist Varvara Busova and others. The action, like last year, will take place in the Guslitsa art residence near Moscow. What is important – you cannot go to the same shift as last year; which is nice – the price has become lower.
Maria Romanova, head of the children’s scientific laboratories “Polytech” : “Based on last year’s experience, we understood two things.First, feeding the kids a vegetarian meal is a bad idea, this year we have completely redesigned the menu; second, it is wrong to consider people 10-15 years old as children, you need to cooperate with them. This year we invited an architect from the previous shift, as well as new specialists: Bella Filatova from Wowhouse and Sergey Kremnev, who is working on the Textil project in Yaroslavl. Children are very involved: we have had situations when a whole squad asked to go to bed later to finish work on a project. It turned out that 9 days is barely enough to make a project, but additional days are needed for a competent presentation and the opportunity to use them – so this year the shifts are three days longer.Only children, counselors, a doctor and a technical director live in the camp. We separate the entire unsettled territory and those places where the artists’ workshops are located from the camp territory with the help of a fence. ”

“Kawardak”
Camp charged with the creative spirit of Nikola-Lenivets
For the second summer, the Kavardak camp that migrated from Nikola-Lenivets takes place on the territory of the former pioneer camp in the Kaluga region, the younger children sleep in the buildings, the older ones in tents on wooden pedestals. This time, to the fine arts, shifts dedicated to architecture, photography and contemporary art, a shift “Music and Theater” was added, during which children will be able to assemble their own garage rock band. The ideological inspirers of “Kawardak” are charming young parents Katya and Amir.
Ekaterina Melikhova, director : “On the second day of the shift, we conduct meditation and several exercises in order to bring the old dreams of children to the surface. For example, for a large number of boys 10–12 years old, this is building a tree house. We try to help children come up with a project that will be a challenge for them, at the same time, it will be useful for others, and we will implement it in 2 weeks. In the evening of the second day, a project fair is held, where the best are selected. The project can be individual or group, it is led by a curator. During the shift, projects are revised every 2-3 days. It is not at all necessary to be able to play an instrument to go to our new musical session: last year has shown that many children have a real talent for this. We have several musical instruments in the public domain – the electronic piano, electric and bass guitar, drum kit, accordion, microphones, and last year we had rock bands quite spontaneously organized. We also want children who play an instrument at a music school to learn to get a thrill from playing, from improvisation, from jam. ”

Summer programs of the Film School. McGuffin
Children make films like adults
© Film School. McGuffin
Film School named after McGuffin was created by graduates of VGIK: directors, editors, cameramen. It offers different areas of immersion in filmmaking for different ages – from activities for children to mastering editing programs for adults.During outreach programs, children have to work really hard: they go through all the stages of making a film on their own – from pitching ideas to editing and dubbing, so it’s better to go here for those who really want to connect their lives with this art and its technical side. This year the school has three outreach programs, not counting the city camp at ZIL. Children can go to a city camp in Jurmala with their parents and, in addition to filming a film, practice water polo while parents explore the surroundings on excursions.Children go to Bulgaria with the tour operator Kid.Travel as part of the Kids & Teens active recreation camp, they will live in a hotel on the seashore and visit the water park. The most attractive – and, obviously, not cheap – August shift will take place in China, where not only exotic locations for filming will be a bonus, but also the opportunity to pump English: it will be possible to shoot films only in this language.
Daria Gladysheva, creator of : “A beginner will be fine in any of our camps: each program begins with a competition for film ideas – the children themselves defend and choose them. And in the team there are always professions with which a beginner will begin his path to the cinema. Almost all intensive programs, including summer ones in cinemas, help a young filmmaker in the shortest possible time to understand what is behind what in cinema, who is responsible for what, where the boundaries of the professions are. And most importantly, the result is visible – the film itself. Here are a few films from our camps that seem to me to be some of the most interesting: the mystical thriller about childhood fears “Drowned”, a film about fulfilling a promise, “Honestly”.This year we also organize a city camp in Jurmala: we study from 10.00 to 17.00, then the child must be taken away. This is a format for children on vacation with their parents – we offer a hotel and everything else. ”

Maksatiha Camp
Cinema camp with other fun
© “Maksatiha-Camp”
Another cinema camp, where filming is primarily an opportunity to express yourself.Kids here draw cartoons and act as extras, older guys are divided into directors, cameramen, sound engineers and so on. Of course, they are assisted by the appropriate professionals. Each of the five camp shifts has its own specifics. The first one is the most free-spirited one: the guys bring their pre-prepared ideas to life; in the second, they learn to shoot a report under the guidance of a teacher of the Faculty of International Journalism of MGIMO; the third shift is sports, the boys are competing in football, the girls are learning cheerleading and fitness, everyone is shooting a musical together; in the fourth shift, children put on unusual experiments and beatboxing; in the fifth, “Star Wars”, “Star Trek” and other masterpieces about space are reshomed; in the sixth, they solve a quest based on detective novels.
Yulia Romanenkova, author of the idea and project manager : “For 8 years of development, we have come an exciting way from a small family club for“ our friends ”to a serious international camp that receives almost 1000 children per year. Our main goal was determined on the day of foundation – to create a unique entertainment and educational environment for the development of imagination and creativity in children, which would motivate them to achieve specific goals and obtain the result of their work.During the work of the camp, the films of our children were included in the short lists of Russian and foreign festivals of children’s cinema, today we have almost two dozen awards. Savvy Holidays
People, horses and highlands of Bashkiria
© “Savvy Holidays”
For all the romance of the painted pictures – high-mountain meadows, breathtaking landscapes, fluttering manes – it is worth sending here children who are more likely to be ready for Spartan conditions: most of the time they live in guest houses, but on a hike that lasts 5-6 days, they are replaced by tents and self-cooking dinner over the fire.In addition – daily several-hour horseback riding, excursion to the Shulgan-Tash reserve and Kapova cave. The second shift – for even more advanced ones, it includes a difficult ascent to Mount Shatak, where the guys will meet the dawn. Here, you definitely cannot do without hiking experience and endurance.
Maria Grokhovskaya, creator of : “We climb Mount Shatak every year, but this year, on the second shift, we plan to meet the dawn there: we will reach the top, set up a temporary camp there and rise before dawn – the entire ascent takes 40 minutes. We have three criteria by which we advise you to determine whether our camp is right for you. Firstly, this should not be the first experience of a child in a camp without parents: after all, we are far away, you will not come quickly – you will not take them away. Second: there should be minimal experience of living in tents, cooking over a fire, or at least an idea of what it is like. Third: of course, there must be an interest in horses and a desire to take care of them, but there may not be experience. Well, for the second shift, endurance is needed, since we will walk a lot: the children will have one horse for two.Another conceptual difference between shifts: the first theme is magic with our own hands, we will talk about how to make our dreams come true, help each other in this; the second session is about goal-setting, how to define, formulate your goal. This will not be a training format, we just talk a lot with children, part of the team are professional psychologists. ”

There are two main criteria by which you can determine whether this camp is right for you: first, your child is very curious and ready to solve math problems, albeit as far as possible from those given at school, and listen to lectures about the semantics of myth and music the era of romanticism; second, you do not live in Russia and feel the need to socialize with Russian children. The creator of the camp is Sergey Kuznetsov, editor-in-chief of Bunik and founder of the SKCG advertising agency. Intellectual stars are engaged with children: Sergei Kuznetsov himself, Linor Goralik, Boris Filanovsky. There are also classes about pop culture: Vasily Shevchenko and Anna Kozlova talk about comics, and Denis Boyarinov – about modern pop music.
Sergey Kuznetsov, creator: “Answer to the question” Is my child smart enough for this camp? ” very simple: if a child wants to come to us, if he is interested in spending part of his vacation, solving math problems and doing all sorts of other intellectual activities, then he is smart. Those classes that are not mathematical are generally optional, as in universities: you need to take a number of courses, but they are recruited to your liking. The only difficulties with the assimilation of the program arose among adolescents, because some of them believe – well, due to their age – that it is better for them to sit with such an indifferent face that no one thought that they might be interested in something coming from adults. But I must say that even such children at some point become involved in what is happening. There are children who believe that they are humanities – in the sense that they do not like mathematics and physics. So, it is for such children that “Marabou” usually turns out to be a real discovery: on the third day they say in unison that they never thought that mathematics is so beautiful and interesting. If they regret something – that they do not have such mathematics at school ”.

Nanocamp
“Minecraft” and neuro-roaches from “Experimentanium”
Science camp with a serious approach to the program based on the system of educational technologies STEM (science, technology engineering, mathematics). Each shift is thematic and involves different age restrictions. On the change of “Physicus” children will create complex technical devices in the game “Minecraft” (this phrase alone will be enough for your child to want to go there!) And build the car of the future. At “Khimikus” – to cook glue and soap and arrange a soap show. At Informaticus – to program neurotroaches and paint a picture with mold. At Astronomikus, you can look through a professional telescope and design models of spaceships and spacesuits. At “Biologius” they will learn how interesting a person is and why he needs to eat right, and at “Electricus” they will create an electric motor in “Minecraft” and extract electricity from vegetables and fruits. All shifts use the local hit-points currency, which can then be spent on gadgets and games.
Timofey Asmolov, scientific director of the network of children’s educational camps Smartcamp : “Camp“ Nanocamp: Experimentanium ”is one of the camps of our network, which we do together with the museum. This year its base has changed. The new one is more comfortable, with two swimming pools, excellent sports infrastructure and a large classroom fund for classes. This base was purchased entirely for our camps (there is also a camp for kids “Babycamp: Successful Childhood”, “League of Extreme”, Robocamp). New features related to neurointerfaces have been added, for the first time there is a shift with competitions in underwater robotics, classes about the Internet of Things – there are new items in every shift. Electronic money and club cards have been used in our camps for 12 years.Children earn mainly by positive, kind deeds (there is a clear scale) and project activities. Many children save up several shifts in order to buy a valuable prize, while others immediately spend on souvenirs from the camp (flash drives, T-shirts, mugs, etc.). We motivate children to earn money on their own and do not recommend taking cash with them so that they can measure their parents’ wallets. ”

Summer Intensive Art & Fact
Intensive creativity and vocational guidance
Five-day intensive for high school students, created by the teams of the Higher School of Economics and the Lifestyle projects for career guidance and the Most Creative Camp for the development of creativity. At the HSE training center, teenagers will prepare their own projects in 15 areas of knowledge: advertising, robotics, animation, neuroscience, cinema and entrepreneurship.Plus, every day to engage in various unusual sports and, of course, communicate a lot. As a result, each child will create his own project or product, be it a bot, an advertising poster, or the result of a biological experiment.
Diana Kolesnikova, project founder : “Areas that will be devoted to workshops and shorter events: advertising and creativity, neuropsychology and neurointerfaces, artificial intelligence and bots, finance, contemporary art, theater, robotics, new technologies in architecture, scribing, entrepreneurship, writing music, creating desktop and other games, graphic design. We try to motivate the guys to try those areas that they know least about, or those that scare them away or seem boring. On the first day, the work goes in full flow, and then the participants move from theory and exercises to their own project in groups of 3 to 6 people. We were lucky with the speakers: the guys from the coolest project Playtronica supervise the direction of contemporary art, the electronic engineer Anton Maskeliade is responsible for contemporary music, and Artem Bulanov from the Mesto project is responsible for urban studies, and the production and development director of Mosigra Tikhon Fiseysky will also act.

“Valdai Robinsonade”
Time-tested fun survival lessons in the middle lane
© “Robinsonada”
Camp on Valdai with a 25-year history. Here everything is in the best hiking traditions: kayak control, orientation by the map and compass, tent and fire – all by ourselves. But survival in the wild will be taught to the most pros, coming up with trials of different difficulty levels for the participants. Here children learn to operate a kayak, train at the climbing wall, play “Zarnitsa” – in general, everything happens to reboot the student’s head, which is clogged with school lessons and Vkontakte publics.
Ekaterina Ageeva, Internet Project Manager : Valdai Robinsonade is our most classic program: tourist adventures, hike and Robinsonade remain unchanged.Nevertheless, every year in the clearing there is a modernization of infrastructure for greater comfort of participants, washing machines, covered domes, lockers for charging mobile phones appear. In our jubilee year, we are launching the project “4D” – Good Deeds for Others. We believe that if every desire to do a good deed leads to its fulfillment, the world will become a better place. Of course, it takes determination to send a child to camp for the first time, but this is a sure-fire way to get great memories, rewarding experiences and a huge number of true friends for the child.

“Summer School”
Very scientific workshops for teens who like to learn
© Nikita Zimin / Summer School
A project with a long history, which grew out of the Summer Environmental School (LES) at Moscow State University and is supported by the Russian Reporter magazine and JINR.Everything here is free – the project exists on a volunteer basis, and all honored professors teach here for pleasure – but getting there is not so easy. After registering for a specific workshop, you must pass a test task, each workshop has its own. More details about the available workshops (for many workshops for schoolchildren the admission is already closed) can be found on the project’s Facebook. In “Astrogeo” children learn to see billions of years of development in simple stones under their feet and to realize the hypothesis of the birth and evolution of stars and planets; in the psychology workshop, students will be able to take part in real debates and research by professional psychologists; in “Medo” – learn about the profession of a doctor firsthand, listen to lectures ranging from anatomy to cytology and pass career guidance tests in the medical field; and you can also have time to learn science journalism from the staff of “Russian Reporter” and the creators of WikiMedia.
Sergey Afanasyev, director : “In order to understand how everything works with us, it is best to read our manifesto. Yes, there are introductory assignments, but they are needed so that the workshops do not overflow, the main motivation was and remains a person’s desire to learn and develop in a particular field. On the other hand, workshop teachers really call the coolest and most famous specialists in their field, often shifting the focus to acting professionals and experts, rather than teachers.Since the goal is not to select the best, then the tasks do not become similar to the Olympiad ones. Somewhere they will ask you to write an essay, somewhere – real news for a magazine, and somewhere you will have to talk to Billy Milligan. And after completing the first task, there will be a mandatory Skype interview. Competition – approximately 2.5 people per seat. The number of applications we have is growing every year: now they have already submitted about 3,000. As for the motivation of children, it is rather strange to phony if you got to the workshop for which you passed two qualifying rounds.Usually there is simply no such thing, and there is not enough time for phony, but if a free minute is given out, then all summer schoolchildren attend classes or events of any other workshops at that time. ”

“Future Society 2.0”
Teenagers learn the meaning of life and the structure of society, surrounded by the Crimean beauty
© “Society of the Future 2.0”
The “Let’s Go” team makes an on-site psychological game – a kind of development of society on a scale: you need to create a government system, jobs, a tax system, a creative cluster and, at the same time, overcome emerging problems such as corruption, fraud and poverty. All this takes place against the backdrop of the Crimean plateaus, lakes and other beautiful landscapes.
Andrey Kazakov, team leader : “In the camp we are working on building relationships in the group (detachment) and trying to help the teenager to be realized in it. Throughout the program, the camp will have a government, monetary system, taxes, fund, labor exchange, shop and other attributes of adult life. Based on the experience of the winter camp, where the participants learned to use these systems, we want to move to the next level and find answers to the questions why each of us does something, what idea might be behind making money or starting our own business, as we would like see the relationship in the group and so on. “

90,000 McGuffin Film School
“McGuffin Film School is a great place for inspiration, knowledge and friends! And it’s all together.I want to go to film school, and also not to miss classes!
Film school inspired me, and through it I found amazing people. And also, of course, she taught me the knowledge of cinema, photography and advertising!
And shooting days are a separate topic. You are having fun and not easy at the same time! But there is no need to be afraid of this, because in the end you will get an excellent result! ”
Anastasia Kopacheva
film school students
I am very happy with my choice.I was looking for a place where I could express myself, fantasize, spend more time with like-minded people. In a short time, I learned a lot about the structure of cinema, met interesting people of my age and older. And most importantly, we practice a lot, choose the projects we like, and then start shooting.

Film School is the abode of lenses and tripods. Well, of course, there is also a space where you can use them.Filmmakers’ summer camp taught how to watch movies in a different way. Before him, when watching a movie, I paid attention only to the plot, but now I see a bad lame
successful color correction, plasticine graphics. In short, film school, we love you!
Maria Zotova

I liked everything. I learned a lot of new things, gained experience. There were very interesting lectures, trainings and various tasks. The teachers are very cool, worthy of respect. The emotions received on the set are indescribable. I am grateful to this film school for the endless amount of knowledge gained and for the chance to show it in practice.
Karina Kharlamova

McGuffin Film School is one of the best places in my life to visit. And although I was only in the summer camp, I was still able to feel and feel the atmosphere of the cinema, thanks to this school and its team. And if anyone wants to share my opinion with me, be sure to go to the McGuffin Film School.
Dmitry Mazhorov

The McGuffin Film School is one of the most exciting side-scrolling courses I’ve ever taken. The coolest thing is that this is a very good opportunity to open up new horizons for choosing a profession or a new hobby. The most fun part of the course is, of course, the filming, where the student gets the most experience. In addition, it is a great responsibility to the project and the team.McGuffin Film School is definitely a very ambitious, intriguing project that a young movie lover should definitely try out – it’s great when you know that you have participated in the creation of a full, professional short film.
Gennady Kuznetsov

I am in the second year of film school. Never before have I had a place where I went with such pleasure. We are constantly in the process, if you fell out – catch up, no one will do anything for you. This is not an ordinary school, there is no chase for grades, there are only deadlines and your own limits above you. In film school, if you do, then for yourself. You must have unlimited love for cinema, otherwise there is no way. They are not used to giving up here. If the project is launched, then it will go from the first to the last stage. There are no toy filming here, this is not a kindergarten. Only when everything is ready: episode, script, director’s script, storyboards, checkpoint, there is
actors, locations, equipment, props and make-up – only then can you start.Sounds scary, maybe. It’s not easy on set either. They are as close to real conditions as possible. There are those who find it difficult, but for the most part, the one who has completely gone through this circle of hell once will return again.
Olga Chernienko

Personally, I really like the Mac Gaffin Film School. I have learned a lot of new things about making films, which will undoubtedly come in handy in my life. I’ve been studying here for a little less than a year, but I’ve already gained a lot of experience! The training is interesting, a lot of lectures mixed with practice.Although I would have liked more shooting days and timing in films. Well, as they say, a little bit of good 🙂
Eva Baltzer
film school students
From the very first classes, I got involved in the cinema. I was appointed director because I won the pitch. Since I had very little knowledge about cinema, at first it was very difficult. Fortunately, some of the students began to help me. It was difficult to write the script, everyone has their own point of view, and everyone thinks that he is the only one right. With a delay of several weeks, after an exhaustingly long script writing, we left for the shooting. I don’t know if all the shooting goes like this, but due to my ineptitude, I turned the shooting into hell. All imaginary misfortunes decided to suddenly appear. At first, many members of the film crew were late, then it turned out that the camera did not have one of the required configurations. Further, the room that was intended for filming turned out to be too narrow, the batteries were quickly discharged, it began to rain, and the bells were ringing. In general, the day turned out to be fun.
But that was not the end. After all, after filming, the film still needs to be edited. I also got the editing and, after a few nights, with the advice of my irreplaceable leader, my long-suffering film was finished. But it was still interesting.
Even if I will not be making films in the future, the film school simply prepared me for the difficulties.
Alexander Klyamkin

I really liked filming in such an environment, everyone is very good, everyone helps, the process itself is professional.Good luck to all students!

One of the few “circles” in which it was really interesting for me to study. Despite the conflict situations with some teachers, I can say with full confidence that the film school employs excellent teachers, with whom it is pleasant to work. I was never fanatically interested in the film industry, but McGuffin got me involved in the making of the film and it was an invaluable experience. Also, in my opinion, McGuffin has a very competent teaching methodology, which assumes, first of all, independence and responsibility. The filming is organized by the children themselves, which helps a lot in everyday life. During the work on the film, children learn to work in a team, they realize that, once again being lazy, they let down not only themselves, but the whole team. And, of course, the result is good news. I made my own film as part of a film school, and I’m incredibly proud of it.In general, the film school is a great project that gave me a lot of emotions, new skills and knowledge.
Ekaterina Lapshinova

Everything is perfect at McGuffin Film School. I like studying here. There is a lot of practice and theory here. And gradually I master the magic of cinema. The pitching idea is very good. Everyone is given the floor and it turns out that everyone has very interesting ideas. I’m still not very good at realizing my own, but for some reason I am sure that in time I will win!I am everything.
Peter Voznesensky
film school students
I have been teaching at a film school recently and I can impartially say that McGuffin’s students are quite beginning professionals. The guys are constantly doing practical work. They themselves write scripts, shoot, edit and actively help each other with projects. During the training, the guys manage to visit directors, actors, editors, etc. And it is very important that in addition to mastering the theory, they can try themselves “in business”, to understand what exactly they are interested in on the set.
Petr Levchenko
film teacher
McGuffin Film School is a great place to learn how to make films. Cinema is difficult, but very interesting. Excellent teachers help to understand all its areas. Here you will learn all stages of filmmaking: from idea to finished film. The film school always has a very warm atmosphere and an excellent team. We also have sweets and cookies!
Evgeny Gamov
film school students
Children in the film school are engaged in an important business – making films. For people who want to do cinematography, in my opinion, the most important thing is practice. Learning some theoretical foundations and tools is, alas, a drop in the ocean. It is nice to see how children, young and old, study one of the most mysterious and mysterious forms of art – cinema. Besides the fact that they learn to make a movie, they also learn to watch it, which is not taught at all in schools.
Of course, not all of the students will want and realize themselves in the field of cinematography, but each of them will have a huge baggage of pleasant impressions, interesting and important knowledge, unusual acquaintances and their own films.
Alexandra Moshkova
screenwriter
I like the learning process at film school. Interesting and informative lectures, practical exercises. They ask a little, but do it with interest. Classes are held in a friendly atmosphere, in general, everything is as it should be. The only thing that can put a beginner in an awkward position is that you are thrown right into the process, without much explanation of what and how. You have to react quickly and adapt to the situation, which is not good for everyone. The main thing is to have a desire.
Vasily Skukovsky

I recently came to study at the Film School. McGuffin. I got here by accident, and I actually think I was very lucky.
Firstly, I really wanted the class to have a good theoretical part and that we ourselves analyze the films in terms of theory.
Here I certainly got what I was looking for: a good film theory with examples.Secondly, I was looking for a place where, in addition to learning, I could develop creatively. Here you are given very interesting
tasks and complete freedom of imagination. I also really liked the team in which I work. The teachers are very cool and positive people, and I immediately found a common language with the guys. Now I walk enthusiastically and tell all my friends about this film school.

This summer I was vacationing in Bulgaria with the McGuffin Film School.I had a great time and learned a lot! I was very pleased with the “teaching staff” and the course itself. Classes were held in a friendly, but at the same time, working atmosphere. I am very pleased with the time I spent with the film school.

“Film school is the same school, only with a bit of humor. Everything is just as strict and demanding, but, unlike school, if you try, you can get out… By the way, about the share of humor, in principle, it is at least 99.9999%. But, as it seems to me, this is too little … Although without 0.0001% severity it would be some kind of KVN. Unfortunately, nothing can be done without study. Cinematography, acting, editing training and everything else, it turns out, are interconnected. And thanks to this kind of connectedness and at the same time coherence, an excellent movie is obtained. I have nothing more to say, because if I do this, I’m afraid it will turn out to be a story … “

A very good film school, which changed my attitude towards cinema and helped me to determine my professional activity.A wonderful atmosphere within the team, cool teachers, fascinating cinema – all this is very captivating and makes you study further.
Thanks and cheers to McGuffin!

McGuffin Film School taught me something that many adults cannot. From drama to acting. The film school is always a very pleasant atmosphere in which you want to be.Kind teachers who work with us because they really like it. Here children study with whom it is pleasant to communicate, because they understand you and have the same hobby. You never want to miss classes because you are really interested in learning new things. McGuffin Film School is the place to return to.

Our acquaintance with the Land of Oz camp took place in May last year, after the first “trial” week shift on the farm, my daughter returned very satisfied, tanned and happy. We listened to stories about goats and other living inhabitants every day, for this reason we decided that it was just necessary to go again. And the daughter went already in August and for a 2-week shift.
For this year 2018, it was planned to send his younger brother to rest and recharge with positive emotions.
The shift from 17 to 27 June 2018 was wonderful, my youngest son went to the camp for the first time, my daughter for the long-awaited third time (believe me, we listened every day to an increasing number of stories about goats, cows, master classes and new friends).
The leaders Zakhar, Nastya and Masha accompanied the children this year. Every day, we, parents, received a lot of photos and videos about how our children relax, what they eat, make, whom they pet and what they look at.
The shift is very intense, the children got vivid impressions, they not only took care of animals (goats, lambs, turkeys, pigs, rabbits, etc.) while charging with a lot of positive emotions. The children also swam, and we were very lucky with the weather, played some extremely funny games (with video reports), learned to cook all kinds of goodies (dumplings, cookies, preserves, pickles, etc.), looked at a passing asteroid, fished , went on a hike, built a hut, got acquainted with nature. They also made something all the time, brought home a package of handicrafts, and some of them can be used, for example, soap.
The children became friends with the counselors even before the bus departed. Zakhar supervised the boys perfectly, everyone went to the shower and washed, they were dressed for the weather and in clean clothes, the collection and analysis of bags was also on him, for which I want to say a huge thank you! The girls counselors watched the girls, helped with their hairstyles, and collected and disassembled things. My daughter adds that “Masha always helped if something went wrong, for example, if she lost something or couldn’t do it.Nastya knows how to play interesting board games. Zakhar jokes very funny and from the next house you can hear everyone laughing. “
Dear Oz Employees You are creating an unforgettable vacation for our children! (And also give parents the opportunity to see their children independent and happy)
Mom of a little princess and a brave prince;)

We express our deep gratitude to you for the wonderful rest of our children.Children are delighted! Every day they call and tell how interesting and wonderful the day was. Thank you very much to the counselors and organizers!
P.S. The only thing, it seemed to us that the performance of the children of our 3rd squadron at a concert was short compared to other squadrons. Next time we want our children to perform more!
2016-06-28
Thank you very much for a great job! There are a lot of interesting activities for children, constant active events, the child is very happy! And many thanks to the counselors for the constant organization of the time of the children in the camp, their care and help!
2016-06-28
I express my gratitude to the leadership of the camp for the excellent organization of children’s recreation and for their caring attitude towards them! The child rested in the camp for the first time, was very worried before the trip, but, it seems to me, he was satisfied!

This is our second year at your camp. Children are delighted, they like everything: food, rooms, work of counselors (attentive, kind, know how to captivate and, if necessary, help). There are minor domestic shortcomings: a non-working refrigerator, hot water was turned off early, a heated towel rail does not work in the toilet (these are girls’ suckers). We think that we will come here more than once!
The Galetsky family.

A wonderful camp with a wonderful and sincere team !!! Keep it up!

The Land of Oz is the best camp. My daughter has been here for about 10 times and does not regret anything. The counselors here are the best! And the squads are always friendly and creative. We will send Anya here again.
2016-06-26
Camp “Land of Oz” is a godsend for our child, Rodion S.A wonderful organization of children’s leisure, where there is a place for everything that can only positively affect children! Special thanks to the cheerful professionals – counselors !!! I would like to highlight Tanya and Sasha! Thanks for the organization and creativity. We will be happy to send a child here, as well as a younger brother.

We express our deep gratitude to the leadership of the Land of Oz camp, the second squad leader Natalie and Vladimir for the decent organization of summer holidays for children, an individual approach to disclosing the abilities of each child, for creating a friendly family atmosphere in the camp, for a healthy microclimate within each squad.
With kind words, I would like to note the work of the camp’s medical worker, who ensures control over the health of children, monitors the observance of cleanliness and order in the room, which is especially pleasing to the eyes of parents.
The schedule in the camp, full of creative, sports and game activities, contributes to the all-round development of children, does not let them get bored and allows them to relax at 100%. Many thanks to the organizers, managers, counselors and all the staff at the Land of Oz camp.
We wish everyone prosperity and the implementation of new creative ideas !!!

Our daughter Anna “rested” (the quotes are not accidental, since the children were constantly engaged in interesting and useful things) in the wonderful camp “Country of OZ” for the third year in a row and does not even want to consider any alternatives.
Thank you dear Counselors and Educators for your professionalism and tireless concern for the SAFETY of our children !!!
We hope to spend your vacation in Crimea with you.

My son is 11 years old and he went to the camp for the first time. More precisely, not to a sports camp! I was very worried about him. But literally from the first minutes of meeting the counselors Sergey And Katya, I realized that it would be fun and interesting.
The child practically did not call home, he just never was, he was constantly busy. And the reporting concert that they have prepared is simply beyond praise. To our counselor Sergei, I express my deep gratitude for the staging of the dances and for the fact that by his example he proved that you do not need to be shy and look at someone from the outside! Just dance and get maximum pleasure from it yourself. My son made many new friends. I realized that next year, we will definitely return to the OZ COUNTRY !!!!! Thank you all, everyone, for an unforgettable time spent in shift 1 of your camp.

The child went to the “Land of Oz” for the second time and returned for the second time in complete delight. Children are constantly busy with something: quests, contests, competitions, laser tag, tennis, swimming pool. And this is great: no one sits idle in the rooms. Shifts are thematic. So this time the children were pirates, and the next time the program is filmed, then they are initiated into pioneers … In general, every time there is a lot of impressions. And different every time.
On this arrival, the child brought with him a hand-made soap as a gift) He was very proud.
Parents’ day is another story. This time, in 2 weeks, the children were able to stage a quite decent performance, in which the whole camp took part, including the counselors. They sang, danced, played) There were great fellows.
On the technical side, living in private rooms with their own shower and toilet is great. Meals in a separate building are five times a day.In the evening before going to bed, kefir, fermented baked milk or a snowball. So they definitely do not starve)
In general, the child went to the second shift. It is also going to Etnomir and to the farm. And then – at sea))) Summer will be held under the sign of the “Land of Oz”. I am sure he will be remembered for a long time.
Svetlana Sh.

The camp is wonderful! This is the second trip to the Land of Oz. And I want to notice the camp is only getting better. (Although there was nothing to complain about before).
Many thanks to the counselors Sergey and Katya, they are the best!
Next year we will come again :).
Thank you. The child is very happy.

Thank you very much for “babysitting” with our children !!! 🙂 Veronica is very happy (and we, parents, of course, too), despite the fact that she arrived with a slightly spoiled face, so please (for those who have never had an active rest, for me that is :)) write about all the features recreation. I mean, for example, it didn’t even occur to me that sunscreen is needed in the mountains in winter :), i.e.Because I have never skied myself. Thanks again!!!

Words are not enough to describe all the charm, all the magic and miracle of our shift! To the counselors and Yulia, who organized everything, many thanks !!!
The detachment is wonderful! Thank you all!!!
I really remember the trip to the water park: an open-air pool with a gorgeous view of the mountains, the coolest slides !!
The trek to the Caucasus Mountains was wonderful! How we climbed on the ski lifts to the music! They sang, cried, laughed!)))
Awesome are our gorgeous flash mobs !!! Crowds of spectators, applause, energy, joy, a sea of positive !!!)))
A fabulous trip to Sochi-Park was simply unrealistic !!! Purple slide: an hour of waiting in line was worth it!))) Snake Gorynych slide: I rode it more than five times!))) It’s gorgeous!
She made Arina open her eyes to the Serpent Gorynyche. With Gray they shouted on the Firebird hill: this is the first place we went. Cool stuff !!!))) Fear Room: scary! All the way I walked hand in hand with Gray, for it was terrible! And at the end of the zombie with a chainsaw !!! Gray falls into the straw and onto my foot, one of my boots remains under Gray. It is funny to him, the zombie “cuts” him with a chainsaw – Sergei burns out. I fall to the floor without one shoe. Sochi Park is generally an unreal thing !!!
And in Sochi Park we are flashmobiles 🙂 This is us! And they even took pictures with us!)))
And everyone remembers our Mafia?) “Civilians raise your hand!” © Arina
And the sunsets on the Embankment? Magnificent beauty spectacle !!!
Well, in Sochi the shift was held, now to Siberia ???)))
Land of Oz (https: // vk.com / clubstranao3) the most beautiful camp with sincere people !!
This vacation was fabulous !!!
And the weather was gorgeous!))
Our little summer!)))
And most importantly, there were always wonderful people nearby !!!
I miss you very, very much and I will miss !!!
P. S. Special thanks to Seryozha, Masha, Arina, Dana and Nastasya !!!)))

So we returned to Moscow …
And you know, it was unforgettable!
It was the best vacation ever !!!
I am happy that I did not sit in cold Moscow, but was in warm Sochi.
I met many wonderful people with whom I was happy. They are very sincere and funny people.
We felt very good.
We swam in the pool overlooking the mountains, we conquered the Caucasus Mountains, played mafia, walked near the sea, rode bicycles and danced a flash mob everywhere.
I miss you very much. Thanks for this vacation !!!

I am a mom of a 7 year old son and this is our first experience of a trip to a camp.I was very worried, I just turned 7 years old, I still don’t go to school. I calmed down a bit when, during the departure, I saw the children, who had already been 2 and 3 times. But all the same it was restless, the director was also new.
It so happened that I came to visit my son for 2 days not under the best circumstances. He called me at one in the morning that he was not feeling well. I immediately called the director back and then I found out that the counselor was sitting with him until 3 o’clock in the morning. But in fact, he just got bored without me.When I arrived, they were cheerful and cheerful. When asked to go for a walk together, he said that he wanted to stay with the detachment, since it was fun here.
During the two days of my stay, I ate in the same dining room, lived in the same room, but, of course, no one entertained me. She visited her son in fits and starts during his free time. I think that my impressions, therefore, are more complete.
Place. Like a Soviet boarding house, but everything is clean and there are three people in the room. I immediately remembered my ward for 12 girls.A huge hallway-hall for each detachment, where circles are held in bad weather. Dust is cleaned in the rooms every day, but not things. Therefore, things are a mess, both for boys and girls. The counselors remind us of the need for cleaning, but apparently we do not train our children well. Plenty of water, tea. Contests and games are held.
Dining room – tasty and a lot. It’s hard to eat the whole breakfast. Today there was porridge, a butter and cheese sandwich, an egg and glazed curd. Fruit is a must with lunch. All the camps of this place (and there are about 5 more camps on the territory) eat in the same canteen. It’s very big. There is a small toy store right next to the dining room.
The territory of is huge and varied. There is a tennis court, soccer field, swimming pool, pond and even a swamp. And also a pine forest, stables, just running lawns, etc.
In general, I am glad that we have chosen this camp. Many thanks to Irina (director) and counselors Nadezhda and Oleg for their sensitivity and kind attitude. And also a doctor, very reasonable and experienced. She reassured me that everything was fine.
By the way, of all the buildings with camps, Oz has the best. There is a normal floor on which you can sit, and a strict guard at the entrance.
Natalia I.

We visited the parent’s day at the camp and were pleasantly surprised by the organization of the concert. The relaxed and warm atmosphere in the detachments was striking. You can feel the work of the team of educators. The child is happy, does not want to go home.We hope that we will not be disappointed in the future☺ Thank you very much!

We express our gratitude to the entire teaching staff of the camp for their sensitive attitude, high professionalism and immense love for children. We are in the camp for the first time, the child was very worried about being away from home, crying and begging to go home. However, counselors Nadya and Anton, director Irina and Dr. Zhanna Nikolaevna found an approach to the child that Ilya decided to stay! A beautiful concert – it’s amazing how they managed to prepare in 6 days ?!

In general, I liked everything. Child (7 years old) in the camp for the first time. We were worried about how he liked it or not. My son likes everything very much … There are wishes for the counselors. Since children are small and cannot properly organize their “life”, it is necessary to help them get things out of the suitcase and put them on the shelves, otherwise all the things are in the suitcase!

Today is 06.06.2015 – visited the “Land of Oz” camp. We found out about the camp by accident. We looked on the Internet and we liked it and decided to send our son to one shift. The conditions are very good. Rooms for 3 people. There is also a shower and toilet in the room. Very comfortably! The food, the son says, is very tasty and varied. They visit the pool every day. Beautiful nature. Children are constantly on the street. Competitions, games, activities – children are constantly busy. The child really likes it. Will be very bored. It is a pity that the change is only 2 weeks. We will definitely come next year.I also like that the shifts have different thematic areas, it’s very exciting!

For the second year we have been going to this camp, we learned about it from a friend. The daughter was looking forward to the start of the season, finally, she waited. I am very satisfied and happy, she plans to come for another shift. Thank you very much for the home environment, smiles on the faces of our children, love and warmth. It’s a shame the shifts are very short, it would be much better if it was 3 weeks.

Ilya (8 years old) rested for the first time in the camp in general, we were in the 5th shift. I must say that I liked him, his mother, and he. I liked the good organization, the interesting pastime of the children, the pleasant sociable team of counselors, and the fact that the child’s mobile worked well, we could always contact. Ilya was pleased with the discos and picnic hikes. Parents’ day was also organized and interesting. Each of the children got the opportunity to speak in front of a large audience.
In general, the first experience was a success! Next year we plan to go again!

Our son is 6.5 years old. We thought that they would stay for a maximum of a week. And he not only stayed until the end of the shift, but also asked for another one. It is a pity that there were no more vouchers. We managed to buy for the 6th shift, so wait for our Vadik! Thanks everyone!

For the first time they sent their girls to the camp. Organization of departure and resettlement (we asked in advance that the girls be accommodated together), counselors – at a high level! All household issues were quickly resolved.A wide variety of studios for every taste, sports and hiking, new friends … In general, the girls are satisfied and happy!

Ivan has been resting in this camp for the second year in a row and his expectations were met. Organization of recreation – an entertainment program, counselors (as well as last year, there was Maxim), a doctor (the child caught a cold, but he was “put” on his feet literally in 2 days) everything was excellent. It can be noted that the overall impression of the “Land of Oz” this year was even more positive. Most of all, Ivan liked acting classes, staging various scenes, he was very upset when he had to give his role to another boy because of a cold. Even from the outside it was noticeable that this year all the productions became more professional. The disadvantage is that very few photos were posted on the site. last year, daily monitoring was carried out.

2012-08-18
Ivan liked everything very much, we have been resting for the second year in a row in the “Land of Oz” and we plan to visit the camp next year too. I would especially like to note the afternoon program – circles, theatrical performances, preparation for the concert, it is difficult to single out one thing. The counselors, as well as last year, were wonderful. This year I liked the accommodation, the rooms became better, and the building as a whole. There is a wish in the future to settle the children also on the upper floors, so that they do not have physical inactivity.
Ekaterina F.
2012-08-18
Ulyana really liked the camp, I remember counselors Maxim and Lena, as well as evening events, songs and playing the mafia. I also really liked tennis, but, unfortunately, only one lesson had time to attend. Before that, we rested in another camp, where the children lost 5 kg, and you only have one, they fed well in the “Land of Oz”, the children liked it here much more, they arrived happy and satisfied. In general, I liked everything very much, rating 5! Next year we will definitely come again!
Nadezhda V.
2012-08-18
All liked it! As for the circles, Artyom somehow did not spread much, but he said that every day he almost went to football. Previously, this was not the case with him, apparently, the boys who were with him in the detachment somehow carried him away. I appreciate the work of the camp director and doctor, counselors excellent. The son always said about his counselor: “Maxim is so cool !!!” I talked a lot about him. We liked the camp: the rooms are good, the territory, there is where to go and what to do, for example, they rode the catamarans with dad well.We are looking forward to information about the next summer.
Irina T.
2012-07-17
The camp was great! I liked the concert very much – a real, youth concert. I would especially like to note that the children were busy all the time, I was very pleased with the pool, that you could swim in clean water, and, of course, the counselor, who braided the girls’ braids! We are absolutely delighted with him! We also appreciate the work of the rest of the camp staff very well.We did not ride horses a bit – only twice. The camp met expectations so much that Dasha really wants to go again!

The child really enjoyed the Land of Oz camp. We went to the sea many times, but Slava was not interested and did not want to go to the camp. I had concerns about whether the child would be comfortable in the camp. But the fears were in vain, the child really liked it, he said that the camp was very cool
Head of the St. Petersburg Society of Hemophilia Patients – on the modern treatment of patients
Hemophilia is one of the most famous hereditary diseases in the world.Dmitry Chistyakov, Chairman of the Public Council for the Independent Evaluation of Quality Control of Medical Services under the Healthcare Committee of St. Petersburg, a member of the Public Council for the Protection of Patients’ Rights under the Healthcare Committee of St. Petersburg, talks about how things are now with the treatment of this disease, can patients lead an active life with hemophilia and why the work of charitable organizations is so important in promoting the right attitude towards this disease.
– What is hemophilia and how dangerous is this disease?
– When we talk about hemophilia, everyone immediately remembers Tsarevich Alexei and Queen Victoria, but all people get hemophilia, and not just representatives of the royal dynasty. This is a genetic disease, and it is impossible to cure it due to the fact that a person is born with a gene that malfunctions in the blood clotting system. According to statistics, one out of 10 thousand newborn boys is born with hemophilia A, and one out of 50 thousand with hemophilia B. Mostly men are sick with hemophilia, women are carriers. In some cases, the genetic mutation occurs spontaneously. Moreover, 20 years ago it was possible to say that only men suffer from hemophilia, but now cases of female hemophilia have begun to be recorded. This disease is dangerous and often leads to the death of the patient due to hemorrhages in the internal organs, the abdominal cavity. Such hemorrhages are associated with the absence of one of the essential proteins in the blood, which is responsible for coagulation. Patients with hemophilia often have a disability, as the joints begin to deteriorate due to hemorrhage, which leads to serious disorders of the musculoskeletal system.
– How has the life of patients with hemophilia changed in recent years? What are the reasons for these changes?
– Before a patient with hemophilia was treated, life expectancy often did not reach 30 years. After that, they began to practice whole blood transfusion, which also led to sad consequences, since they could not figure out the blood group. In the middle of the 20th century, it was decided to treat with whole plasma. Subsequently, the necessary proteins were separated from this plasma, because plasma is a heavy enough substance for regular administration. It can lead to big problems for the human immune system.
Now, thanks to substitution therapy, a person with hemophilia can be healthy, not afraid of injuries, physical exertion, spontaneous hemorrhages, etc.But it works for some time, then naturally the required protein breaks down, and everything comes to its original state.
If we are talking about Russia, then what is happening can be divided into three great eras.
The first is when there were no specialized drugs at all, and the treatment was carried out either by plasma or by its components. Each bleeding or hemorrhage was traumatic and carried very severe long-term consequences that ended in hospitalization.
At the turn of the 1990s, drugs with clotting factor concentrates began to appear, but there were very few of them, since such drugs are very expensive. The drugs began to appear gradually, some regions could afford to buy them in some quantities, but this did not meet the needs at all, and 95% of people with hemophilia were still disabled.
This was until 2007, and then it was decided to transfer the purchase of such drugs from the regional to the federal level. At first, there were certain interruptions, because it was necessary to adjust the procurement system, accounting, logistics, etc. But over time, all this stabilized, and by 2017 we had the provision of these drugs at the level of the best developed countries of the world, in terms of volume. per capita. In parallel with this, the medical care system was developing. Our doctors have always tried to master new technologies and exchanged experience with foreign colleagues.
– What are the shortcomings of the current drug supply system for patients with hemophilia?
– There are problems, some of these problems are due to the fact that for a long time we lived too well.Over the past 10-15 years, a whole generation of young people and children has grown up who have not seen other coincidences, they grew up in conditions when there was enough medicine: professional doctors, a similar level of medical care. Therefore, if 5-10 years ago we talked about the need for competent doctors, now we are faced with the need to raise the competence of patients – the required dosage prescribed by the doctor is not always used, the patient violates the doctor’s recommendations and acts as he does. seems to be correct.
There are great difficulties with growing up young people, because they have not seen another life. When they become 15-17 years old, they may skip regular injections, as they think that everything will go away by itself. Recently, doctors and surgeons began to record in patients, mainly adolescents, the same severe irreversible destruction of the musculoskeletal system and joints that they saw 15–20 years ago.
But adult patients who saw a picture 15–20 years ago also relaxed and do not understand the value of the treatment that is now.It seems to them that if earlier a small dosage was effective, then it can be observed to this day. But such a dosage at that time was due to the fact that there were few drugs and, naturally, a small dosage is better than nothing at all. Adult patients do not always understand this, so they often do not use all the necessary drugs that are prescribed to them for a month.
Within the framework of our organization, we regularly hold educational seminars, meetings, post various information on social networks, but we see that the same people pay attention to this information and go to events, who already follow the doctor’s recommendations.A significant part of patients ignore such educational programs until they encounter a problem, but such a problem can lead to irreversible consequences.
Also, over the past year, another complication has formed, which is indirectly related to the pandemic. We are now faced with the fact that there is a very noticeable budget deficit in healthcare.
We felt disruptions in the supply of drugs at the beginning of the year. This is also indirectly related to increased control of all funds, labeling of expensive drugs, which entails certain bureaucratic actions. For example, the first batch of drugs this year was delivered to St. Petersburg on January 19, but until now we have not received it in full. The drugs are physically located in St. Petersburg, but due to bureaucratic hiccups, these drugs are practically not dispensed.
– Are people with hemophilia getting the therapy they need? How are things going with the provision of treatment?
– There have been no problems with these in recent years. We received very good therapy with drugs that have proven themselves excellently not only in Russia, but all over the world, including time-tested and new ones that are safe for patients. It is no secret that even 20 or more years ago, patients with hemophilia were at risk for HIV. Blood products were not processed in any way, so in Europe there was a large percentage of patients with hemophilia among those infected with HIV, since the virus was transmitted to them through drugs. In the production of drugs donor blood is used, or rather, plasma, and if even one dose of plasma is infected, the virus spreads to the entire drug.
But that’s all in the past. More than 20 years have passed, and these drugs are manufactured according to new standards: laboratory control of the plasma taken from donors is carried out and its special processing is carried out.For a long time, there have been no cases of HIV and hepatitis infection in patients with hemophilia through drugs. Over the past decades, the share of drugs that consist of donor plasma has decreased to about 50% – in other cases, synthesized proteins are used to create them. In the production of drugs created by biological engineering, donor plasma is not used, so they are even safer.
We are provided with the whole range of drugs – for different forms of hemophilia manifestation. Both foreign and domestic manufacturers supply the necessary drugs.
– How well do the time-tested drugs work and are they sufficient if patients respond to them?
– Time-tested drugs are now the mainstay of therapy for hemophilia. In the last couple of years, there has been a surge in interest in new breakthrough technologies. The medical community is always happy to embrace innovation, but it also looks closely at the long-term implications. We are for the safety and development of the scientific and technological base, for moving forward, but progressive. In any case, it is too early to abandon classical therapy – it has been tested, its consequences are clear, and it really works without serious consequences.
– Is it possible for a patient with hemophilia to live an active and fulfilling life if they receive the necessary treatment?
– Yes, definitely. I am 47 years old, I grew up in the Soviet Union, being a disabled support worker. Many of the joys of childhood life were inaccessible to me, because I was constantly faced with excruciating, painful hemorrhages, which sometimes lasted for several weeks, this was all associated with frequent hospitalizations, severe pains, such that I even had to relieve them with serious drugs.
When we look at children, I said earlier that several generations have grown up who, at the time of their diagnosis, were transferred to effective preventive therapy. Insulin dependence and diabetes are the most understandable and well-known examples. That is, when you, according to some schedule, inject yourself several times during the week the components associated with blood clotting, and while they circulate in the blood, you are an absolutely healthy person: you can lead an active lifestyle, children play football, run, fight with their peers go to school. Many of my generation had no school experience. For example, I studied at home, because I simply could not physically go to school due to constant hemorrhages. And these children are no different from their peers, and there are many examples of how young people have already grown up, began to go in for sports, someone even professional. Young people receive education, specialty, work successfully and build their careers.
The main thing is discipline and responsibility, so that you constantly and regularly follow the treatment regimen and receive the necessary doses of the drug.We work with young people, this has already been a long-term practice, this year will be 25 years old. We run summer health camps for families with such children to teach parents how to live properly with such a child. For older children – so that they see an example of interaction in a team, because many do not go to children’s camps due to health difficulties.
Initially, this idea appeared in 1997, when my “comrades in arms” and I heard and knew about such practice in the West, but we did not have the opportunity to communicate, to meet in relatively “greenhouse” conditions.I came up with the idea of camps where they bring the necessary amount of the drug, there are doctors and specialists who are familiar with the disease, that is, for some period of time, families with children found themselves in an absolutely protected place: there was no need to think about a trip to the hospital, no need we had to think about where to get the medicine, because during our stay we received these medicines in addition to humanitarian aid. We continue this practice, we try to continue to this day, because this is a very good opportunity for everyone to get together, discuss some necessary issues for young people, and teach them. When we meet with older teenagers, I tell them: “I’m not your dad, not your mom, I can’t teach you about life, what to do or not to do, I can only say – turn on your head when you do this or that type of physical activity … That is, you follow the doctor’s prescriptions and then do what you think is necessary, the most important thing is that it is safe for you, and that it does not end in a hospital or a severe exacerbation. ”
– Do you need to observe any restrictions?
– If we are talking about restrictions on physical activity, then these are primarily contact sports, everything related to martial arts (boxing, wrestling). That is, something that can cause trauma, because, despite therapy, each trauma for a patient with hemophilia can potentially result in severe hemorrhage. Although I know young people who go in for sports that are categorically not recommended for patients with hemophilia.
Another thing that is associated with a fall from a great height, because it can be an injury to the spine, brain. That is, there should be restrictions that allow you to prevent unnecessary injury.
