Summer Programs for Kids & Teens (ages 7-18)
iD Tech Camps summer programs are designed for ages 7-17, with courses and activities divided into teen courses and pre-teen courses. In some cases, teens will be in the same lab vicinity as the pre-teens (but will not be mixed in the same class).

Chinese Language and Culture

“Ni Hao” Wolfpack – Chinese Language and Culture Camp for rising 6th- rising 12 graders
At this interactive camp, rising 6th through rising 12th graders will enjoy a Chinese language and culture camp to help them learn about a new culture and get them excited to communicate with a larger world. The Confucius Institute at NC State University has been sharing Chinese language and culture since 2007 and specializes in community programs. At the end of the camp, we welcome families to come to the final performance to see what students have learned. This camp’s intention is to get your child excited about a new culture or help them continue their interest in Chinese. This camp will provide a taste of Chinese language and culture with Chinese words incorporated into all sessions of the camp.

Young Writers’ Workshop

Young Writers Workshop is a nonresidential summer program that brings students to the NC State campus to study creative writing. Engineering Bits & Bytes

Engineering Bits & Bytes Days are STEM curriculum enrichment experiences held on the NC State Centennial campus for students in elementary, middle and high school — grades 3 – 12. These are half-day events held once a semester and include age- and grade-appropriate hands-on engineering activities and often a tour of Hunt Library. For high school and older middle school groups, NC State undergraduate engineering students are available for a Q & A session about admission requirements, scholarships, college life, and suggestions on how best to prepare now for the college experience you want. Engineering on the Road

The Engineering on the Road program brings engineering to life in K-12 schools all over the state of North Carolina. Through interactive demonstrations and hands-on activities linked to the North Carolina Standard Course of Study, we illustrate the true nature of engineering — not just the stereotypical view that many people have — to students, teachers and staff. Future City Middle School Engineering Competition

The NC Regional Future City Competition is a statewide program that teaches 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students problem solving techniques through hands-on project- and problem-based learning. Middle School students learn a problem-solving process called the Engineering Design Process (EDP) as they imagine, plan and create cities of the future. Working as a team, students along with an educator and an engineering mentor, plan a city using SimCity ™ software; describe their research and implement solutions to engineering problems via city essays, plan and create tabletop, 3-D, scale models of their cities using recycled materials; and finally, present their ideas before judges at annual regional competitions. The North Carolina Math and Science Education Network (NC-MSEN) Pre-College Program provides year-round mentoring and academic opportunities to under-served students in grades 6-12. Camp Rockmont

Rockmont is a space for boys to come alive, and it’s a family experience – you will be able to take part in your son’s camp adventure from home through daily blog posts, hundreds of daily photos (with facial recognition, so you’ll get photos of your son right to your phone), resources to follow along in daily devotions, session videos, a counselor letter home, and directors who are available to speak with you anytime during your son’s session.

iD Tech NC State Camp

iD Tech offers a top-notch STEM program at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina. Instructors consist of professionals that come from elite companies like Google and Disney.

There is a 10-student limit per program to ensure that your child receives the correct amount of attention. Their day programs start at 8:30 am and end at 5:30 pm. Some of the summer programs offered at the NC State campus include programming with Roblox, building Minecraft mods, Python coding, and many other options.

When campers aren’t learning about subjects like coding, robotics, and game development, they can enjoy outdoor activities on the university campus.  

Camp Carolina

Established in 1924, Camp Carolina bills itself as the place where boys develop and become better versions of themselves. It’s located on 220 acres in Lamb’s Creek Valley, with a private lake and surrounded by millions of acres of forest and parkland. 

Camp Carolina is one of the best North Carolina summer camps for boys in kindergarten to 11th grade. It places a strong focus on respect, both for each other and for the natural world. It’s proud of its tech-free policy, giving boys the freedom to spend time together without social media or smartphones. 

Activities include arts and crafts, archery, wakeboarding, horse riding, Jedi yoga, hang gliding, sports, and much more. The camp promotes gentlemanly behavior and has an excellent camper to counselor ratio (2.5:1)

Keystone Camp

Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Keystone Camp is a North Carolina summer program for girls ages 7-14. The entire Keystone Camp staff is made up of only women. Keystone only hires qualified female instructors to lead its 29 activities, providing excellent and strong role models for the girls. 

Keystone places a strong focus on individuality. Unlike other programs, there are no compulsory activities. Girls can build individualized experiences to suit their strengths, interests, and passions. 

With a great range of activities ranging from horseback riding, riflery to gymnastics and arts and crafts, there’s something for every girl at Keystone Camp.

Camp Merri-Mac

One of the earliest Christian summer camps in North Carolina, found in Black Mountain.  Camp Merri-Mac caters to girls ages 6-16. This sleepaway camp offers a range of unique activities, including cooking, puppy training, DIY, and emergency water safety. There are almost over 40 different activities found here.

At camp, girls stay in cabins on the 150-acre campus. Although the cabins separate campers by age group, Merri-Mac encourages girls of all ages to play together as members of the same community. Every evening, group competitions take place after dinner to foster collaboration and healthy rivalry.

Camp Albemarle

If you’re looking for a summer camp in Newport, Camp Albemarle is an excellent choice for Christian campers. Albemarle offers both overnight and day stays, with options suitable for boys and girls from preschool to 12th grade. 

Camp Albemarle aims to promote faith through fun. Its activities include Bible study alongside sailing, wilderness survival, and swimming. Of all the options available, Albemarle focuses on waterfront activities. As its website says, ‘if you have saltwater in your veins, this is the place for you!’ 

Apart from its other water-based activities, there are also other fun land activities like climbing and sports. 

Camp Pinnacle

Promising a new approach to summer camps, Camp Pinnacle in Henderson County is a sleepaway camp for kids ages 7-15. Although there is a separate spot for boys and girls, there are some coed activities. They foster respect, collaboration, and friendships between different genders. 

Not only is Camp Pinnacle one of the oldest camps in the state, but it’s also one of the oldest in the whole of the USA! With 90 years of history, this place aims to provide a tech-free retreat where every child receives praise for their own achievements — not measured against others’ success. 

The coed program makes family scheduling easy, and it also has an excellent reputation.

Camp Mondamin

Founded nearly 100 years ago, Camp Mondamin is a family-owned camp in Zirconia for boys 6 to 17 years old. The leaders strive to promote a love for the great outdoors and boost the campers’ self-esteem, using a non-regimented approach to foster individuality. 

With activities ranging from archery to looking after animals in the nature lab, Camp Mondamin sits in 800 acres of woodland and offers plenty of opportunities for kids to explore at their own pace. There are no age restrictions for the activities offered and a non-competitive ethos.

Or, is your child already a rocker and just wants more experience? Either way, School of Rock Chapel Hill is the place to be for fun-filled, action-packed, rock and roll boot camps this summer!

Fuel your campers natural creativity at Kidzu’s summer camp! Since 2006, Kidzu Children’s Museum has nurtured the creativity and confidence of thousands of area children. This summer Kidzu will be hosting summer camps like Lights! Camera! Action in which Campers’ imaginations come alive as they create full theatrical productions, including animation, set and costume design, puppet-making, and more!

Alternatively your camper might try joining Mad Science for a thrilling adventure! This camp puts children on a “deserted island” where they must work together to devise a means for collecting food and water, build shelters, bridges, and learn about the science behind survival. They use the tools to write messages to send in a bottle and witness a volcanic eruption! All these camps and more are available this summer. 2.Use of personal data

2.1. By accepting the terms of this agreement, the User, Client and Participant provide the Site Administration and the Children’s Club with consent to the processing of their personal data.

2.2. Purpose of processing personal data: the Administration fulfills its obligations to the User, Client and Participant (Participants) under this Agreement, provides the User, Client and Participant (Participants) with information about marketing events, conducts an audit and other internal research in order to improve the quality of services provided by Smartcamp, registration of the User, Client and Participant (Participants) on the Site and the fulfillment of obligations by Smartcamp to the User, Client and Participant (Participants) in accordance with the Offer Agreement or an agreement concluded in writing.

– acknowledges and confirms that all the provisions of this Agreement and the conditions for processing his personal data are clear to him;

– agrees to the processing of the personal data provided by the Site in order to register the User or Client on the Site, in the Smartcamp CRM system;

– agrees with the terms of personal data processing without any reservations and restrictions.

2.7. The personal data of the User and the Client are stored on electronic media and a CRM system and processed using automated systems, except in cases where manual processing of personal data is necessary in connection with the fulfillment of legal requirements, as well as in the case of a written contract. Paper questionnaires completed by the Client, as well as copies of documents submitted by the Client directly to Smartcamp, are entered and stored in electronic media and in the CRM system, the paper carrier after processing is destroyed and not stored.

2.8. The Administration of the Site and Smartcamp undertakes not to transfer the received personal data to third parties, except for the following cases:

– at the request of the authorized bodies of state power of the Russian Federation only on the grounds and in the manner established by the legislation of the Russian Federation;

The Smartcamp administration has the right to send informational messages, including advertising messages, to the e-mail and mobile phone of the User and the Client with their consent, expressed through the performance of actions that uniquely identify this subscriber and allow them to reliably establish their will to receive the message. The User and the Client have the right to refuse to receive advertising and other information without explaining the reasons for the refusal by informing the Administration and the Children’s Club of their refusal by any phone number indicated on the Site, or by sending a corresponding application to any email address indicated on the Site.Service messages informing the User and the Client about the order and the stages of its processing are sent automatically and cannot be rejected by the User and the Client.

2.11. This consent to the processing of personal data is valid indefinitely, but can be revoked by the subject of personal data on the basis of a personal statement sent by e-mail to the Site Administration or provided to the employees of the Children’s Club in writing.
