SMITHFIELD, RI- In a recent ranking of the nation’s best colleges for Business majors, MONEY places Bryant at No. 6 in the U.S., citing data on superior median earnings and economic mobility in addition to each university’s focus on outcomes and the resources and opportunities provided to students.
“This national recognition for Bryant and top ranking by MONEY highlights the commitment of our faculty and staff to key areas that are most meaningful to students and families.”
This most recent national ranking, with Bryant positioned between Georgetown University and the University of Notre Dame, affirms Bryant’s continued ascent among a select group of higher education leaders redefining transformative educational programs that deliver exceptional student success and return on investment. The MONEY rankings analyzed data points including graduation rates, net price of a degree, and alumni earnings.
According to MONEY, “a business degree, which includes majors in accounting, entrepreneurship, finance, marketing and management, can position students to work in almost any industry that catches their interest.” Bryant’s distinctive real-world ready curriculum and experiential learning opportunities take this to the next level. The University’s Vision 2030 strategic plan, Education Through a New Lens, has brought the University community together to build on core institutional strengths with a focus on education for critical 21st century skills and emerging career opportunities at the intersection of business, STEM fields and the liberal arts.
Drawing on his expertise in strategic management and as an economist and economic development scholar and advisor, President Ross Gittell, Ph.D., has led Bryant University’s Vision 2030 planning to set a bold trajectory for the University’s next decade through academic excellence, transformative student life, competitive athletics, and student outcomes ranked among the nation’s top 1% for return on investment and economic mobility. At Bryant, momentum is accelerating with the largest freshman class in its history to arrive this September; the establishment of a new School of Health and Behavioral Sciences on July 1; plans for new facilities including a landmark Convocation Center and Arena; new majors in high-demand fields such as Healthcare Analytics, Exercise and Movement Science, and Digital Communications; and membership in new Division I athletic conferences.
“This national recognition for Bryant and top ranking by MONEY highlights the commitment of our faculty and staff to key areas that are most meaningful to students and families,” said President Gittell. The MONEY ranking comes on the heels of accolades from higher education experts at the Georgetown University Center for Education and the Workforce and the Harvard University-based Opportunity Insights dataset as reported by The74.
Bryant’s Class of 2021 reported median starting salaries of $64,000, with 99% employed or enrolled in graduate school within six months. At nearly 1000 students, the incoming Class of 2026 has broken enrollment records as the largest class in Bryant history.

Overview of Bryant University
One of the most intriguing aspects of the university’s history is the story of the wrought iron archway. Saved from its original home in Providence, the historic archway was brought to the current location where a new tradition began. It has become a symbol of completion, as only students who have made it to commencement walk through the arch. To honor this tradition, one senior class built a brick walkway around the arch for undergraduate students to follow.

Academics
Bryant’s College of Business offers the individual attention you would find on a small campus, with the knowledge and education of a large business college. Their programs in the College of Arts and Sciences prepare students to become strong contributors right after graduation.
Bryant University offers advanced degrees in the areas of business administration and accounting, in addition to communication for graduates and postgraduates. Their School of Health Sciences also has a master’s degree program in physician assistant studies.
The retention rate for full-time students is 87% and the graduation rate is 81%, both of which are more than excellent. Those rates are in combination with a 13 to 1 student-to-teacher ratio, which is high enough to indicate that students will be able to have good discussions in class and small enough that they will be able to have at least some one-on-one time with their professors if they run into any issues with a course.
The retention rate indicates the number of first-time, first-year students who stay with the school, and the graduation rate shows how many of those students completed their degree programs. That information is a powerful indicator as to how well the university meets the needs of its freshmen. When first applying to a college, it’s difficult to comprehend how much your life will be altered during that first year. How well the university is prepared to help students handle those difficulties is a crucial factor in whether or not the students choose to return the following year.
