Conaty Park – Bryant Bulldogs
Bulldog Baseball
Conaty Park is located on the Bryant University campus in Smithfield, RI. Situated adjacent to Sutton Field, the training camp home of the New England Patriots from 1976-2002, the ballpark is named for Bryant alumnus Bill Conaty, class of 1967 and benefactor of the university’s baseball and softball programs.
The Bulldogs joined Division One in 2009, and now compete in the Northeast Conference. They have qualified for the NCAA Tournament three times (2013, 2014, 2016). One Bryant alumnus, Keith MacWorther, has played in the Major Leagues.
Food & Beverage 0
There are no food or beverage options at Conaty Park. Fans are welcome to bring their own items into the ballpark to enjoy during the game.
Atmosphere 2
Fans looking for an extravagant game day experience will not find one here at Conaty Park. College baseball in this part of the country is simply not the big deal that it is in other parts of the United States.
Conaty Park features an excellent sound system that is put to good use with lineup announcements, between inning and batter music, and the occasional sound effect. While the music and PA announcements might be turned up a bit too loud for some, it can hardly be considered intrusive.
Neighborhood 2
Smithfield is a suburb of Providence, RI, located about a twenty minute drive away from Rhode Island’s capital. Although it is a very nice place to live, it’s not a place you would choose as a vacation destination. Bryant features an attractive modern, suburban campus, but there is not a whole lot in the immediate vicinity for visiting fans to see or do.
Dining options near Bryant University are few. Parente’s restaurant is a favorite of students, as much for its location near campus as for its reasonably priced comfort food. Fans seeking to pick up sandwiches for the game should check out J’s Deli on the way to campus. In fact, it’s not unusual to see several Bulldog fans enjoying their subs at Conaty Park. Those looking for more dining options should take the 20 minute drive to Providence, which is consistently rated as one of the better mid-sized cities in the country for culinary delights.
The same can be said for lodging options in Smithfield. There are a few decent options near the Bryant campus, but visitors to the university would be better served to check out Providence or Boston for places to stay or things to do. For those looking to stay in the immediate neighborhood, Twin Rivers Casino is in nearby Lincoln. If spending time at a casino is in your plans, you will be better served by heading to Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun in nearby eastern Connecticut, about 45 minutes away.
Fans 3
Baseball is not a huge attraction here at Bryant, but the Bulldogs attract a decent crowd at Conaty Park. Many of the fans who fill the grandstand have a connection to the players on the field, and follow the action closely and enthusiastically.
Access 4
Bryant University is located in suburban Smithfield, Rhode Island, 13 miles northwest of Providence. Most visitors to Bryant will arrive by car. The campus is located on Route 7, just a mile from Interstate 295. T.F. Green Airport is 20 miles away, with Boston’s Logan Airport an hour away. Train service is provided by Amtrak, which has its downtown Providence station 15 minutes away. Rhode Island Public Transportation (RIPTA) has a bus station on the Bryant campus, connecting the campus with downtown Providence.
Conaty Park is located on the northern edge of the Bryant University campus alongside the school’s other athletic facilities. Free parking is plentiful in the large lot adjacent to Beirne Stadium, the university’s football venue. The baseball field is located on the far side of the football stadium and soccer pitch. A paved path leads from the parking lot to Conaty Park.
There is seating at Conaty Park’s grandstand for about 300 fans. Seats consist of individual plastic molded seats behind home plate alongside metal bleachers with seat backs. There is additional seating down the right field line on a terraced patio and on a berm beyond the left field fence. Many fans will bring their own lawn chairs and take in the action from these areas. Restroom facilities are located a short distance from Conaty Park at the Conaty Athletic Center.
Return on Investment 2
Attending a game at Conaty Park will cost you eight dollars for a reserved seat and five dollars for general admission seats. Seniors and non-Bryant students are admitted for three dollars, while Bryant students and children 12 and under are admitted free of charge. On the plus side, there is no charge for parking in the large lots adjacent to Beirne Stadium.
Bryant is one of only three Division One schools in all of New England that charge for attending a baseball game. If you would like to avoid the admission fee, just wait. After the fifth inning the ticket table is removed, and fans can enter Conaty Park without charge. If a doubleheader is scheduled, you can still see a game and a half for free.
Extras 2
Free programs are passed out to all fans who enter Conaty Park.
A second extra point is awarded for Ironclad Tupper II, the school’s new live bulldog mascot, who attended his first official Bryant event at Conaty Park on April 21, 2018.
Final Thoughts
Conaty Park is typical of many college ballparks that dot this part of the country. It’s an attractive facility that presents the game in its purest form, without a whole lot of distraction. Baseball fans will enjoy spending a few hours on a lovely spring day taking in a game at Bryant University.
Just remember, college baseball season runs primarily through the months of March and April, and the weather in this part of the country can be unpredictable.

Minnesota Duluth women’s hockey director of operations Bryant leaves Bulldogs for USA Hockey role | College Hockey
Minnesota Duluth coach Maura Crowell and director of hockey operations Nick Bryant celebrate USA Hockey success after a recent tournament (photo: UMD Athletics).Nick Bryant, who has served as Minnesota Duluth’s women’s hockey director of operations and equipment for the past four seasons, will permanently join USA Hockey as the hockey operations and event manager for the women’s national team ahead of the 2022 Beijing Olympics.
“My time here with UMD women’s hockey has had a tremendous impact on my life,” said Bryant in a news release. “From starting my career in Duluth, to playing in Hockey Day Minnesota, and advancing to the Frozen Four this past year, I have made memories that will last a lifetime – both on and off the ice. As one chapter of my life comes to an end, another one is just about to begin, and I look forward to what lies ahead with Team USA. Bulldog Country will always have a special place in my heart, and once a Bulldog, always a Bulldog.”
While at UMD, Bryant’s crowning achievement was helping the Bulldogs get back into the NCAA Frozen Four in 2021. Bryant, who earned an MBA from St. Scholastica in 2019, also played a part in Hockey Day Minnesota 2018, bringing back UMD retro jerseys and was on the hockey commissioner’s task force for video exchange in 2021.
“Nick has been an important member of our staff during his time with the women’s hockey program,” said UMD head coach Maura Crowell. “His passion for hockey and his willingness to go above and beyond are qualities that made him an asset to both our program and our university. I wish Nick all the best as he moves forward in his career.”
In addition, Bryant has built a strong USA Hockey resume. He was named to the 2020 and 2021 Women’s World Championship staff under USA Hockey operations, and was the equipment manager on the 2020 Under-18 World Championship squad in Bratislava, Slovakia. Bryant also worked multiple USA Hockey Development Camps, in hockey operations during the 2019-20 season, and was the equipment manager for both the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons.
Bryant graduated from Minnesota State with degrees in both Business Management and Nonprofit Leadership.

229th: Division I
2018 In a Sentence: Early against Central Connecticut State, the 4-1 Bulldogs were up 14-0 on the Blue Devils, and seemed to be on their way towards a NEC championship. Then CCSU scored 48 straight points in a 34 point loss, and the Bulldogs never seemed to fully recover, dropping three of their last five games and squeaking by both Fordham (42-41) and Howard (56-55) by a single point each. At the end of the season, head coach James Perry was hired away by his alma mater, Brown.
Biggest Shoes to Fill: A huge reason for Bryant’s struggles was that QB Price Wilson struggled through injury during his redshirt senior year. When he played full games for Bryant in 2018, the Bulldogs went 6-2, throwing for over 2,000 yards and registering 20 TDs. Bryant struggled to replace him last season, and they’ll have a big task filling his shoes this year.
Key Players: DL Tomas Wright rightfully has plenty of interest as a possible defensive end at the next level, thanks to his monster junior season. He set a single-season record for the Bulldog program with 12 1/2 sacks to go with 45 tackles, 17 1/2 tackles for loss and 3 forced fumbles. It will be interesting to see how the 6’2 217 lb end does his senior year.
Fearless Prediction: Intriguing storylines abound with Bulldog Nation this year – an in-state matchup pitting new head coach Chris Merritt against his former boss Perry at Brown, two tough games against CAA teams Stony Brook and Albany, and a late November matchup against Duquesne. But they’ll have to do it while breaking in a bunch of new names on offense and defense.

Following gang arrests, French bulldogs recovered
SAN JOSE — The recent arrests of three men in connection with a suspected gang-related crime spree in San Jose has been followed by the news that a French bulldog and her puppy were among what were recovered after the bust, according to police.
But three more puppies are still out there.
Pictured is a puppy recovered following a string of gang arrests in San Jose in early August. The dog’s mother was also found, but three more stolen puppies from her litter are still being sought.
Monday, police announced the Aug. 3 arrests of three San Jose residents linked to a series of at least 10 crimes between February and July, including shootings, carjackings, auto thefts and burglaries. Investigators believe they were all connected to street gang activity. The men arrested were San Jose residents Christopher Rosales, 19; Omar Harris Tabora, 22; and Nelson Vargas, 23.
When search warrants were served around the time of the arrests, police say they recovered several illegal firearms including a rifle and three pistols, illegal high-capacity magazines, a ballistic vest, illegal drugs and property suspected of being stolen.
It turns out what was also stolen were a French bulldog and her puppies, and the mother and one puppy were recovered and later reunited with their owner.
Part of their potential theft appeal, police said, is that the dogs are purebred and have an estimated value of between $10,000 and $15,000.
Anyone with information about the case can contact the San Jose Police Department’s robbery unit at 408-277-4166.
90,000 Bulldog lay in a puddle until the owner called him home. In vainA very popular video on Twitter of a bulldog named Rose, who enjoyed lying in a muddy puddle, until this disgrace was discovered by the hostess. The owner did not like her beloved puppy up to her ears in mud, and her beloved puppy did not like that they wanted to separate her from the mud. But in the end, Rose resigned herself to the calls of the owner, and she did not immediately understand what mistake she had made.
Twitter user Sarah Bryant posted a video of a little bulldog named Rose. And, of course, dogs and cats often get a lot of likes, but Rose did it especially well: her post has almost five million views and 300 thousand likes.
This video was posted by her aunt, who, without even getting into the frame, became the heroine of a very dramatic plot. She found her new puppy lying head over heels in the mud. And Rose was clearly enjoying the spot she had chosen.
The Mistress tried to prove to Rose that mud is not the best place to rest.Sobaken with such stupidity, of course, did not want to agree and tried to bury herself in a puddle entirely, but in the end she crawled out of this sticky mass and obediently went towards the house to the remarks of the laughing mistress.
It was no laughing matter when the puppy, stopping for a second at the threshold, abruptly started into the house, leaving splashes of mud everywhere. And the scream of horror that the woman with the camera emits will make even those who have a stone heart feel deeply.
Carefully, the scream filled with the pain of all mankind is really loud.
my aunt got a new puppy and sent us this video and I think I’ve watched it approximately 37 times pic.

When the video went viral, Sarah told on her Instagram that after the camera turned off, her aunt was waiting for several intense hours with a rag and a bucket, and the video itself was filmed a few months ago: she decided to post it on Twitter why just now.
During this time, Rose has grown a little (not a little), and she and the mistress live in perfect harmony.
Rose kern
And if you think Rose is a big dog, look at her next to her sister.
Rose kern
But Rose was lucky that she did not go far as a dirty trick, and the mistress recognized her.A family from the States had been looking for the missing dog for four years, until it was accidentally discovered that this filthy bastard had been there all the time.
However, pussies are not always cute. A resident of Mexico, for example, saw the mink of a cute fluffy animal and wanted to get to know him better. But it was not one beast, but thousands.

Budlo and Felice Bryant
Diadorius Budlo Bryant and Matilda Genevieve “Felice” Bryant Bryant; August 7, 1925 Milwaukee, Wisconsin – April 22, 2003, Gatlinburg, Tennessee), professionally known as Budlo and Felice Bryant – an American tandem of songwriters, consisting of a husband and wife, who created over 6,000 songs, many of which have become classics of country, rock and pop -music.Moving from Georgia to the future capital of country music in 1950, they were the first in the city to focus solely on songwriting on a permanent basis. In total, their creative partnership lasted more than 40 years, ending with the death of Budlo. In the future, Felice worked independently. The tandem’s early successes include Little Jimmy Dickens ‘”Country Boy” tracks, Carl Smith’s “It’s a Lovely, Lovely World” and 20 Everly Brothers hits like “Bye Love”, the couple were the brothers’ primary songwriter from 1957 to the early 1960s. …One of the most famous works of the couple thanks to The Osborne Brothers in 1967 was “Rocky Top”, now the official song of the state of Tennessee. The single authorship of Budlo belongs to the composition “Love Hurts”, popularized in 1975 by the group Nazareth. In general, the work of the Bryants was recorded by over 400 artists, in particular, country performers Red Foley, Jim Reeves, Eddie Arnold, Roy Clark, Emmylou Harris, Graham Parsons and Patty Loveless; pop singers Al Martino, Frankie Lane and Tony Bennett; rockers Roy Orbison, Buddy Holly and Jim Capaldi.Despite being recognized as a songwriter, the couple themselves released a number of singles and an album A Touch of Bryant 1980. Felice and Boudlo have earned a reputation as one of the best songwriting tandems in country and pop music and the most famous spousal partnerships in the field. Successfully working with both religious and secular country styles, while blurring the lines between country and pop music, they were among the most long-standing songwriters of their era. The couple’s classic and new work has consistently appeared on the country and pop charts throughout the 1940s and 1980s, selling over 250 million copies. Most of them were published through the spouses’ own publishing house, House of Bryant. Felice and Boudlo are inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame 1972, the National Academy of Popular Music Songwriters Hall of Fame 1986 and the Country Music Hall of Fame 1991. Rolling Stone magazine ranked them # 89 on its 2015 100 Greatest Songwriters of All Time list.
