Boston College basketball releases full 2021-22 schedule

Boston College basketball released its full schedule for the 2021-22 college basketball on Wednesday night. 

The Earl Grant era will officially begin against Darmouth at Conte Forum on Nov. 9. The Eagles follow up their season-opener with clashes against Holy Cross and Fairfield before hitting the road to take on Rhode Island on Nov. 19. Rhode Island went just 10-14 last season, but are traditional contenders in the A10 and figure to provide Boston College worth an early non-conference test. Boston College defeated Rhode Island in 2020 by a final score of 69-64.

Boston College hops on a plane for Florida after its matchup with Rhode Island to take part in the Sunshine Slam beginning against Utah on Nov. 20. The Eagles will then play either Tulsa or potentially Rhode Island again depending on the outcome of the Utah game to conclude the multi-team event.  

Columbia is next on the docket for Boston College after the Sunshine Slam, followed by South Florida coming to Chestnut Hill on Nov. 29 and a road game at St. Louis on Dec. 11. Boston College wraps up its non-conference slate against Albany on Dec. 13.

Notre Dame is first up on Boston College’s Atlantic Coast Conference schedule on Dec. 3, followed by Wake Forest on Dec. 22 and Florida State on Dec. 29 before hosting North Carolina at Conte Forum on the first day of the new year. The Eagles’ other January opponents include Pittsburgh, Georgia Tech, Clemson, Louisville, Virginia Tech, another meeting with North Carolina and Pittsburgh.

February profiles as a tough month for Grant’s team. Boston College starts the month at Virginia before hosting Syracuse and Duke. Three straight road games against Notre Dame, Syracuse and N.C. State follows the two-game homestand before Boston College concludes its non-conference schedule against Clemson on Feb. 26, Miami on March 2 and Georgia Tech on March 5.

Alabama football schedules home-and-home with Boston College

A day after announcing a future home-and-home series with Oklahoma State, Alabama is adding to its future schedule again. Wednesday, the university announced a future home-and-home with Boston College for the 2031 and 2034 seasons.

“Our future schedules continue to fill out nicely with quality home-and-home series, many of which present us with opportunities to play opponents and go places we haven’t been to in a while or ever,” said Alabama Director of Athletics Greg Byrne. “The 2031 matchup in Chestnut Hill will be a great trip for our team and our fans, and we look forward to hosting the Eagles here in Tuscaloosa in 2034.”

The first game will take place in Chestnut Hill, Mass., on Sept. 13, 2031, with the Eagles coming to Tuscaloosa on Sept. 16, 2034. It will mark the first games between the programs since a series in the 1983 and 1984 seasons that took place at Sullivan Stadium in Foxboro, Mass., and Legion Field in Birmingham.

Tuesday, Alabama announced that it will travel to Oklahoma State in 2028 before hosting the Cowboys in 2029. Nick Saban will turn 70 in October. The head coach will be 76 when Alabama starts its series against Oklahoma State and 79 by the time Alabama travels to Boston in 2031.

“The numerous home-and-home matchups that have been scheduled in recent years are going to make for some great football games for our program and our fan base,” Alabama head football coach Nick Saban said. “We are excited to add a trip to Chestnut Hill for the 2031 season and look forward to the challenge that awaits us with the Boston College series.”

Alabama and Boston College have previously met four times on the football field with BC holding a 3-1 edge in the series. The Eagles took both games of a series in 1983 (Foxboro, Mass.) and 1984 (Birmingham). The teams first met in the 1943 Orange Bowl, a 37-21 Crimson Tide victory. Alabama returned to Boston College for a road game in 1946, falling 13-7.

With the addition of Boston College, Alabama has added 12 home-and-home series to future schedules recently, including: Texas (2022 & 2023), Wisconsin (2024 & 2025), Florida State (2025 & 2026), West Virginia (2026 & 2027), Ohio State (2027 & 2028), Oklahoma State (2028 & 2029), Notre Dame (2029 & 2030), Georgia Tech (2030 & 2031), Oklahoma (2032 & 2033), Arizona (2032 & 2033) and Virginia Tech (2034 & 2035). The Crimson Tide also has a 2-for-1 home-and-home series with South Florida (2023, 2024 & 2026).

Along with playing at Boston College in 2031, Alabama will also host Georgia Tech (Aug. 31, 2031). The 2034 season will see the Eagles and a trip to Virginia Tech on the Crimson Tide’s slate. Alabama opens the 2021 season with a neutral site game against Miami (Fla.) on Sept. 4 at 2:30 p.m. CT inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

Travel to school and events

• The residence is located on campus, just a few steps from the school building

• The campus is just 10 minutes away by public transport to the city center

• Students travel to events by public transport.The fare is $ 20 per week (price may vary).

Within walking distance, students will find the Fenway area with several banks, shops, coffee shops, hospitals and more. Also nearby is the Landmark Shopping Center, which includes a movie theater, an electronics and sporting goods store and several restaurants. The bus stop (Fenway) is located just 10 minutes walk from the hostel in a quiet location. The residence provides comfortable accommodation in the heart of the most important university center in the city.

Food

Students eat in the College cafeteria, where breakfasts, hot lunches and dinners take place.

Breakfast : Tea / coffee, toast, jam, fruit and hot snacks

Lunch : Buffet style lunch – sandwiches, pizza, salads, vegetarian food, chicken, drink and fruit.

Dinner : Hot dinner at the College cafeteria. Dinner usually includes

salad, meat and fish, pasta and rice.

Diet requirements

If the student is a vegetarian or has any dietary requirements

readings, it is necessary to notify the AEC at the time of booking

students.

Medical indications

At the time of booking, the AEC must be informed of the student’s medical conditions, allergies, and any medications the student needs to take. Students must have adequate health and medical insurance, which the student will need to purchase prior to coming to our program.

Room type: Double room – students are accommodated in a double room with others

students of the same sex.

Bathrooms: One bathroom for 6 students.

Boarding House: Full Board Accommodation – Breakfast, a variety of hot and cold lunches and dinners in the campus cafeteria.

What to expect from the residence:

• Student lounge with TV and common area for students

• 24 hour security, including a police officer on campus

• International leaders are accommodated in double rooms shared with others

Linen / towels

Lingerie will be provided. Students are required to bring towels with them.

Cleaning

Public areas and bathrooms are cleaned daily. Students are responsible for cleaning their rooms.

Dry cleaning

Students are responsible for washing their own belongings.A token-based washing machine is available on campus. Estimated cost of washing = $ 1.50 and drying = $ 1.50 (prices may vary).

Supervision

School representatives are present and patrol the residence throughout the night. They are responsible for ensuring that all students return to their rooms by the appointed time and that discipline is maintained.

Training Center

Lessons are held at a junior center in the heart of Boston, one step away from the city’s main attractions.The school has an academic coordinator who will answer all your questions.

Course

Students attending this program will take the General

course

English.

• General English 20 lessons per week (45 minutes each lesson).

• Schedule: lessons from 09:00 to 12:30 or from 13:30 to 17-00 with half an hour

change (from Monday to Friday)

• Lessons will begin on the second day and students will begin to study on a regular schedule.

• Maximum number of students per class – 15 people

• Students from different countries will study in one group

First day

On the first day, students take an English language test. The test will allow teachers to assign students to groups suitable for their level. After the test, students will receive a welcome speech and then go through a school orientation. During orientation, students will be given a map of Boston, a lesson schedule, and details of activities.There are no lessons on the first day, but students will have a group lunch followed by an afternoon activity.

Maximum group capacity – 15 students

Attendance

All students are required to attend lessons daily. Exceptions are only possible if the student is unable to show up at school (for example, in case of illness). In case of illness of a student, one of the school representatives will take the student to a doctor. A visit to the doctor can be quite costly.

To receive a certificate at the end of the course, the student must have

100% attendance.

Study materials

Textbook and teaching materials will be provided to the student. The student must have a pen and notebook with him.
