What are the top athletic tape designs available. How do different tapes compare in terms of quality and performance. Which athletic tapes are preferred by professionals. What features should you look for when choosing athletic tape.
Understanding CureTape Art Kinesiology Tape: Features and Benefits
CureTape Art Kinesiology Tape is a standout product in the world of athletic tapes. This innovative tape combines functionality with aesthetics, offering a range of unique designs that set it apart from traditional options. But what makes CureTape Art so special?
First and foremost, CureTape Art is manufactured using a unique printing process. The dye is fully absorbed into the fibers, ensuring that the cotton remains smooth and supple. This technique is exclusive to CureTape Art, making it the only kinesiology tape on the market with this particular feature.
The tape is made from elastic cotton and coated with a ventilating hypoallergenic acrylic adhesive. This combination provides excellent support while allowing the skin to breathe, reducing the risk of irritation or discomfort during prolonged use.
- Latex-free and safe for sensitive skin
- TÜV quality mark certified
- Produced in ISO-certified factory in South Korea
- Compliant with European medical MDR legislation
- Available in six different designs
CureTape Art Designs
CureTape Art offers a variety of eye-catching designs, including:
- Tattoo
- Tiger
- Zebra
- Leopard
- Army Blue
- Tartan
These designs not only add a touch of personality to the tape but also allow users to express themselves while receiving the benefits of kinesiology taping.
The Science Behind Kinesiology Taping: How Does It Work?
Kinesiology taping has gained popularity among athletes and physical therapy patients alike. But how exactly does it work? The principles behind kinesiology taping are based on the body’s natural healing process and the relationship between our skin, muscles, and nervous system.
When applied correctly, kinesiology tape gently lifts the skin, creating a small space between the skin and underlying tissues. This space allows for improved blood and lymphatic flow, which can help reduce inflammation and promote faster healing.
Additionally, the tape provides sensory input to the skin, which can help improve proprioception (awareness of body position) and potentially alter pain signals sent to the brain.
Key Benefits of Kinesiology Taping
- Pain relief
- Improved range of motion
- Enhanced muscle function
- Support for joint function
- Improved circulation and lymphatic drainage
Is kinesiology taping suitable for everyone? While generally safe for most people, it’s always best to consult with a healthcare professional before using kinesiology tape, especially if you have sensitive skin or underlying health conditions.
Comparing CureTape Art to Other Athletic Tapes: What Sets It Apart?
In a market flooded with athletic tapes, CureTape Art stands out for several reasons. Its unique printing process ensures that the designs don’t compromise the tape’s functionality or comfort. But how does it compare to other popular athletic tapes?
Unlike traditional athletic tapes, which are often rigid and used primarily for support, CureTape Art is elastic and designed to work with the body’s natural movements. This elasticity allows for a greater range of motion while still providing support where needed.
Another key difference is the adhesive used. Many athletic tapes use strong adhesives that can be difficult to remove and may irritate the skin. CureTape Art uses a hypoallergenic acrylic adhesive that provides strong hold without causing discomfort or skin irritation.
CureTape Art vs. Traditional Athletic Tape
Feature | CureTape Art | Traditional Athletic Tape |
---|---|---|
Elasticity | High | Low |
Adhesive | Hypoallergenic acrylic | Strong, potentially irritating |
Design options | Multiple designs available | Usually plain |
Breathability | High | Low to moderate |
Water resistance | Yes | Varies |
Do these differences make CureTape Art superior to traditional athletic tape? The answer depends on the specific needs of the user. For general support and injury prevention, CureTape Art offers a more versatile and comfortable option. However, for certain applications that require rigid support, traditional athletic tape may still be preferred.
Professional Endorsements: Why Athletes and Therapists Choose CureTape Art
CureTape Art has gained a strong following among professionals in the sports and physical therapy fields. But why do these experts choose CureTape Art over other options?
One key factor is the tape’s consistent high quality. Professionals need to rely on their equipment, and CureTape Art delivers reliable performance time after time. The tape’s durability is another selling point, with many users reporting that it stays in place for up to two weeks, even through showers and intense physical activity.
Martina Link, from the Balance Your Life clinic, shares her experience: “CureTape® convinced me from the beginning because my clients tolerate it on the skin until it comes off by itself, even up to 2 weeks. It is easy to take off and also easy to apply for those who feel confident to use it at home. I haven’t seen any skin irritation, not even complaints about an uncomfortable feeling.”
The positive feedback from clients is another reason professionals continue to choose CureTape Art. As Martina notes, “The general response of my customers is very positive, they feel the support of the tape for muscles and joints and the release of tension and pain.”
Professional Applications of CureTape Art
- Injury prevention in athletes
- Post-surgery rehabilitation
- Chronic pain management
- Posture correction
- Sports performance enhancement
Can CureTape Art be used by non-professionals? Absolutely! While it’s always best to consult with a healthcare professional for proper application techniques, many people successfully use CureTape Art at home for various purposes, from managing minor aches and pains to supporting muscles during workouts.
Application Techniques: Maximizing the Benefits of CureTape Art
Proper application is crucial to get the most out of CureTape Art. While specific techniques may vary depending on the intended use, there are some general principles to keep in mind.
First, ensure that the skin is clean and dry before applying the tape. Any oils, lotions, or sweat can interfere with the adhesive and reduce the tape’s effectiveness. If there’s hair on the area to be taped, consider trimming it for better adhesion.
When cutting the tape, round the corners to prevent them from catching on clothing and peeling off prematurely. As you apply the tape, avoid stretching the ends – this helps prevent skin irritation and ensures the tape stays in place longer.
Basic Application Steps
- Measure and cut the tape to the desired length
- Round the corners of the tape
- Remove the backing paper, leaving about 5cm at one end
- Apply the anchor end to the skin without stretching
- Remove the remaining backing paper and apply the tape with the appropriate amount of stretch
- Rub the tape to activate the adhesive
How much should you stretch the tape during application? The amount of stretch depends on the intended purpose. As a general rule:
– No stretch: for lymphatic drainage
– Light stretch (0-25%): for muscle relaxation
– Moderate stretch (25-50%): for muscle activation
– Full stretch (50-75%): for structural support
Remember, these are general guidelines. For specific conditions or injuries, it’s best to consult with a trained professional for proper application techniques.
Caring for Your Skin: Best Practices When Using Athletic Tape
While CureTape Art is designed to be gentle on the skin, it’s still important to take proper care of your skin when using any type of athletic tape. Prolonged use of tape can sometimes lead to skin irritation or other issues if not managed correctly.
One of the most important aspects of skin care when using athletic tape is to allow your skin to breathe between applications. Try to have tape-free periods, especially if you’re using the tape frequently or for extended periods.
Skin Care Tips for Tape Users
- Clean and dry the skin thoroughly before application
- Avoid applying tape to broken or irritated skin
- Remove tape slowly and carefully, supporting the skin as you peel
- Use an oil-based product to help remove any residual adhesive
- Moisturize the skin after tape removal to maintain skin health
- If you experience persistent irritation, consult a healthcare professional
Can you develop an allergy to athletic tape? While rare, it is possible to develop a sensitivity or allergy to components in athletic tape. If you notice persistent redness, itching, or other signs of irritation, discontinue use and consult with a healthcare provider.
Beyond Athletics: Other Uses for Kinesiology Tape
While kinesiology tape like CureTape Art is commonly associated with sports and athletics, its applications extend far beyond the playing field. The tape’s unique properties make it useful in a variety of situations, both medical and non-medical.
In the medical field, kinesiology tape is often used in physical therapy and rehabilitation settings. It can help manage chronic pain conditions, assist in post-surgery recovery, and even aid in managing conditions like lymphedema.
But the uses of kinesiology tape don’t stop there. Some creative applications include:
- Posture correction for office workers
- Support for pregnant women experiencing back pain
- Management of repetitive strain injuries in musicians
- Temporary support for weak or damaged fingernails
- Blister prevention for hikers and runners
Is kinesiology tape a replacement for medical treatment? It’s important to note that while kinesiology tape can be a useful tool, it should not be seen as a replacement for proper medical care. Always consult with a healthcare professional for persistent pain or injuries.
Innovative Uses of Kinesiology Tape
Some practitioners have found unique ways to use kinesiology tape beyond its traditional applications. For example:
- Scar management: Kinesiology tape can be used to help soften and flatten scars, potentially improving their appearance over time.
- Headache relief: Some users report relief from tension headaches by applying tape to specific areas of the neck and shoulders.
- Menstrual cramp management: Applying tape to the lower abdomen may help alleviate menstrual cramps for some individuals.
- Plantar fasciitis support: Taping techniques can provide support and pain relief for individuals suffering from plantar fasciitis.
- TMJ pain management: Carefully applied tape can provide support and potentially relieve pain associated with temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders.
As with any medical or therapeutic technique, it’s crucial to consult with a trained professional before attempting these applications, especially for managing specific health conditions.

Types and application. How to choose and features
Quite often people who are far from sports and lead a sedentary lifestyle for a long time decide to radically change the situation and go to the gym. And there, from the very first day, they begin to master the simulators and work with weights. But their musculoskeletal system is not ready for such loads, and therefore the result of such activity is most often an injury. To start training without compromising your health, it is recommended that you first use sports bands (loops).
These are flat, elastic, closed bands designed to work with your own body weight. The resistance of the projectile is determined by its thickness – the wider, the more resistance they have. And this, in turn, affects the intensity of the load, which varies between 5-100 kg. With the help of such bands, you can conduct strength training. They can also be used in conjunction with hardware to increase the load level.
The closed ring shape of the loops allows them to be attached to any projectile and therefore used almost anywhere. Unlike a rubber band, the loop does not need to be tied into a knot for convenience, which increases the safety of training.
The first purpose of rubber bands is to develop dynamic strength. But they are no less effective for stretching, developing flexibility, improving coordination of movements, restoring joint mobility, as well as for warming up before the main workout. At the same time, the load on the joints and ligaments is minimal.
The loop allows:
- Use the weight of the human body as a weight.
- Reduce the chance of injury.
- Increase explosive muscle strength.
- Train muscles without excessive lactic acid production.
- Develop coordination and a sense of balance.
Main characteristics
Sports tapes are made of latex, and therefore are resistant to stress and have an unlimited service life. With their help, you can perform many different exercises, and thanks to the compactness of the bands, you can take it with you on a trip. But in order for training with them to be as effective as possible and bring benefits, not harm, it is important to choose the right projectile.
Key features:
- Colour. With its help, the stiffness of the tape, or, in other words, the strength of its resistance, is indicated. There are 5 types of ribbons: orange (resistance 2-15 kg), red (15-22 kg), purple (13-37 kg), green (17-54 kg), blue (23-68 kg) and black (rigidity 32-77 kg). The latter are intended exclusively for professional bodybuilders.
- Deformation resistant. This indicator affects how the resistance force of the loop changes when it is stretched.
- Cold resistant. In the cold, latex can harden and even crack, so you need to check with the manufacturer how specific sports tapes are resistant to cold. This will allow you to train outdoors in the winter.
- Wear resistance. Despite the unlimited service life of the projectile, the stiffness coefficient can change from time to time. And this directly affects the productivity of classes.
- Flexibility. Determines the possibility of fixing the tape on the horizontal bars, barbells and other equipment, as well as the use of several tapes by connecting them.
- Tensile strength. This indicator indicates what maximum load the loop can withstand without breaking.
In addition, all sports loops are marked with two numbers indicating the strength of resistance at different stretches: the first number is for stretching at 0.5 m, and the second at 1.5 m.
Advantages and disadvantages rows of sports tapes have a number of advantages: As a disadvantage, we can distinguish a slight discomfort that occurs on the skin when the tape is stretched. Therefore, it is highly not recommended to fix it in the joint area – during exercise, friction occurs, which negatively affects the articular tissue.
How to choose sports bands
The choice is based on the goal to be achieved through training with loops. There may be several of them:
- Warm-up before the main workout. In this case, tapes of low stiffness (yellow or red) will suffice, since warming up the muscles does not require a large load.
- Gymnastic training. To practice exercises from gymnastics, you will need a kit that allows you to maintain a static body position for at least 1 minute.
- Muscle building. For this purpose, sports loops of any stiffness are suitable, and the load can be increased by increasing the number of repetitions. You can also purchase a higher resistance rubber band later.
- Pull-ups. The color of the tape depends on how much the athlete weighs and how well he can pull himself up.
The relationship between these indicators is shown in the table:
Weight, kg | Pull up more than 1 time (ribbon color) | No pull up (ribbon color) |
up to 50 | orange (yellow) | orange |
50-60 | red (violet) | red |
60-70 | violet (green) | violet |
green (blue) | green | |
80-100 | blue | blue |
Use of
To improve performance and avoid injury, the following safety rules should be observed:
- Do not attach the loop at the level of the joint.
- Do not tie the ribbons in a knot – it is better to use a special carabiner.
Also remember that to increase the resistance of the band, simply fold it in half.
The sports bands are otherwise quite easy to use. There are a huge number of exercises and video tutorials with which you can train.
Common mistakes newbies make:
- Incorrect tape handling technique.
- Movement too abrupt. You need to deal with the loop smoothly, controlling the sharpness of your movements. The most effective is the lifting of the loop within 1 second, and lowering – within 4 seconds.
- Application of the greatest force in the first approach. It is designed to warm up, and therefore the effort should increase from repetition to repetition.
- Ignoring pain. Only a slight burning sensation in the muscles is allowed. With the appearance of pain syndrome, you can not continue training. You need to stop and find out why. It can consist both in the wrong technique, and in the presence of an inflammatory process in a particular part of the body.
To ensure that the result from training does not take long, it is important to follow the following recommendations when building the training process:
- Exercise regularly, without taking long breaks between workouts. At the same time, strive for progress, that is, the constant improvement of the level of one’s preparedness.
- Alternate exercise and rest. There must be a recovery period between workouts, otherwise the body’s performance will decrease in the same way as the effectiveness of classes. However, rest days should not be devoted to eating or watching TV – it is better to go to the pool or for a walk.
- Gradually increase the load level. As the muscles adapt and develop, it is necessary to complicate the exercises performed, increase the number of repetitions, as well as the applied efforts. It is unacceptable to train, overcoming the capabilities of your body. In addition, once a month it is recommended to perform lighter exercises than usual.
Contraindications
Loop training should be avoided in the presence of the following diseases and conditions:
- Pathology of the heart and blood vessels.
- High or low pressure.
- Spinal instability.
- Diseases of the respiratory system, kidneys.
- Rehabilitation period after surgery.
- Rheumatism.
- Diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, gallbladder, liver.
- Prolapse of internal organs, various hernias.
- Oncological diseases.
- Injuries of the musculoskeletal system.
Women during childbearing and within 4-5 months. after childbirth, you should consult a doctor before starting classes.
It is highly recommended not to start training on a full stomach, as this can cause digestive upset. At least 1.5 hours should elapse after eating.
If you have any doubts about your state of health, it is better to undergo a medical examination and get advice from a specialist.
By choosing the right sports bands, you can become more effective in any discipline. After all, often with the help of this projectile you can overcome the power plateau, increase the productivity of any exercise. Rubber bands are also useful for those who are not involved in professional sports, but strive for a healthy lifestyle and maintaining the required level of physical activity.

How to choose fitness band
Summary:

Fitness gum – what a miracle?
The fitness band is a ring-shaped, elastic band made of latex, a simple and convenient sports equipment for gym or at home, which provides an additional load during training. Not to be confused with pull-up rubber, which is mainly used to work with horizontal bars.
Fitness bands are very compact, but at the same time they can provide a sufficient load comparable to a workout in the gym.
Key benefits:
- the ability to use at any level of training;
- dynamic resistance, which is impossible to achieve when working with conventional scales;
- strengthening the muscle corset, increasing the elasticity of muscles and skin, developing joints.
- the ability to use anytime and anywhere, due to its compactness and versatility.
- working out a set of exercises at once;
- use for rehabilitation after operations and injuries.
In our catalog of fitness elastic bands, you can choose almost any option for your individual needs – either a set or a single band of low or high resistance. If necessary, we will be happy to select the right product depending on the intended exercises and the preparation of the athlete.
Select load (resistance)
Under the load of fitness tape, manufacturers mean the force with which the rubber will return to rest at a given stretch. This force is a dynamic quantity and changes in proportion to the stretching of the gum itself.
The resistance force is marked by the manufacturer on the product in kilograms, or in letters: XS, S, M, L, XL. The actual drag force of a rubber band always depends on its actual thickness (see table).
When choosing a specific fitness band, we recommend that you proceed from two factors:
- the exercises you plan to do;
- the level of training of the athlete.
For training the legs and buttocks, denser elastic bands are suitable, and for the shoulder girdle and arms, bands with medium resistance are usually used. The weakest bands are usually used for warm-ups, but also as an addition to other bands or for rehabilitation training.
In most cases, we recommend buying a set of fitness bands – you can combine elastic bands with each other, increasing or decreasing the load. Usually sets consist of 3-5 tapes, from the softest to the hardest. The set will allow you to choose the optimal load on any muscle group, and the presence of weak bands will allow you to increase the load while improving your results.
Length
Depending on the task in fitness, tapes of various lengths can be used. Classic squats and basic exercises involve the use of 50cm or 60cm ring bands. The choice of length here is an individual preference.
Longer bands are used for yoga and Pilates (see table).
Yoga & Pilates bands
Yoga, Pilates, aerobics and similar sports use elastic bands to create the necessary load. With their help, you can strengthen the muscles of the arms, chest, back, without pumping them with static weight.
Ribbons in these sports are usually much longer (from 1 m or more) and are not closed in a ring, which makes it possible to work out the joints with a greater amplitude, ensuring their mobility.
The principle of choosing a load is identical to fitness bands and rubber for pull-ups (we considered how to choose rubber for pull-ups in this material).
Marking | Parameters | Load |
XS/X-light | 2000*150*0.3mm | 1 – 3.5 kg |
S/light | 2000*150*0. 4mm | 2 – 5 kg |
M/Medium | 2000*150*0.5mm | 6 – 9 kg |
L/Heavy | 2000x150x0.6 mm | 9 – 11 kg |
XL/X-Heavy | 2000x150x0.7mm | 11 – 13 kg |
*Marking may vary depending on the manufacturer
Basic set of exercises
Squats with fitness band
Squats are performed from the starting position: the legs are placed shoulder-width apart, the elastic is worn on the hips just above the knees.
The order of the exercise: take the pelvis back and do squats until the thighs are parallel to the floor. Then return to the starting position.
Recommended resistance force : Medium – X-Heavy depending on training.
Side steps
The elastic is located on the ankle. The higher the loop is, the easier the exercise will be. Feet shoulder-width apart, feet parallel, thumbs facing forward.
