The Storm King School was founded in 1867 in Cornwall-on-Hudson, near New York. The school is located in one of the most beautiful places in America – the valley of Storm King Mountain, which offers a picturesque view of the Hudson River. In 2017, the school’s 150th anniversary was widely celebrated on campus.
Storm King is listed as one of the top boarding schools in New York State. This is possible thanks to individualized learning (there are 6 students per teacher, and only about 8 people are engaged in classes), the dedication of teachers and their ability to instill in students an interest in learning and learning.
Here students study not only for the sake of obtaining a diploma, but in order to seek inspiration in science every day, achieve academic and personal goals, be self-confident, constantly strive to develop and explore new things. “To be, not to seem” is the motto of the school.
Important in the educational approach is the ability of the student to make an informed choice and follow the intended path.
To do this, children are given all the necessary learning tools and opportunities: they harmoniously develop academic skills (reading, writing, memory, critical thinking), develop leadership skills, time management skills, research and teamwork.
Many graduates go on to leading universities in the country (such as Yale, Boston or the University of New York) and the world. Among the graduates of the school are successful and famous people: athletes, writers, leaders, musicians, artists, actors.

Curriculum:
Curriculum requires 22.5 credits and mandatory participation in at least two school sports teams. Among the subjects chosen by students:
- English (4 credits)

- physical education (2 credits)
- art (1 credit)
Academically strong students can choose from 10 subjects offered at the Advanced Placement level: art history, computer science, macroeconomics, English, physics, statistics and others.
Accommodation
There are 6 residences on campus:

Students share rooms for two. Each building has a common living room, where recreation, leisure and self-study areas are equipped.
Managers live in each building. They not only help with solving everyday issues and homework, but also monitor the psychological comfort of students, try to be as involved as possible in their lives.
A separate pride of the school is its own staff of chefs, who are responsible for the quality and variety of the menu.
The tradition of the school is a “family dinner” for students on Thursdays. On this day, a special list of dishes is being prepared, and students must visit it in full dress.
